Its certainly DO-able, but not ideal. I was looking into the new Program Leblanc ( Yet another female;) Because her pose lends itself to animation. I try to get better each time, but it doesnt always pan out. It DOES happen that some of the better splash arts IMO for animation belong to female characters though. well man, your skill level seems to be on par with whoever the hell league hires to do their official animations. I can't imagine them being much better than you. This is good for you because that means you are pretty damn good, but to get better that means you gotta work even harder since you're close to the top. One thing I didn't like about Janna here is the arm movement. Can't put my finger on it right now, but seems unnatural. Maybe later I might think of why. Either way I'm nitpicking here. As for that splash, idk what makes it good or not. I just imagined the rune circle moving, the energy moving all the bits of rock, and the book flipping pages or something while his hair moving as if affected by magical wind coming from the spell. It seems like a lot is going on in that splash that is worth animating, while most other splashes they're just posing for a photo and animation seems forced.
I really appreciate the kind words for sure! For reference, I have only animated about 10 splash arts so far, and maybe only 6 or so that I would even consider actually "animated" with true character movement. I am VERY new at this. If you want to see TRUE skill, check out the God King Garen or whatever the skin is called. It is some of the best splash animation I have ever seen. One day, I really hope to be at that level.

: This is really great! but the eyes do look a little funky. But like I said this is awesome keep up the good work! <3
Thanks! This was my first attempt at illustrating eyes XD It didnt come out GREAT, but it could have been worse. You wanna see some funky eyes? Check out the Ahri splash I did some time ago, she is one weird lookin chick! ;)

: hmm mostly female animations... one I'd really like to see is: Karthus Lightsbane splash That would look epic
Ha! Its generally about pose and action thats happening in the splash that will determine if I can animate it, not male or female :P For example, with the Lightsbane Karthus splash, some of the things that would make me hesitate would be the excessive glow and blended colors, and the odd pose / characters ( such as the man tugging at Karthus's arm ) that would make for an odd loop. Its certainly DO-able, but not ideal. I was looking into the new Program Leblanc ( Yet another female;) Because her pose lends itself to animation. Unfortunately I lack some of the skills I would need to do a good job in my opinion. ( I need to learn how to create and manipulate a custom textured 3D object for example ) Its really all about what I feel I currently have the "skill level" to do. I try to get better each time, but it doesnt always pan out. It DOES happen that some of the better splash arts IMO for animation belong to female characters though.

: You gotta animate all the new KDA skins
I think I will in time be doing Eve's new KDA skin. Not sure about the others. Keep your eyes peeled! ;)
: This is amazing, quality job! Did you use After Effects to animate it?
Yes, I use Photoshop for the cutting and filling, and After effects for the animation, I typically use Sony Vegas for title sequences and audio.
: I'd love to see an animation of Omega Squad Twitch, Medieval Twitch and Count Kledular. I don't know if you or most indie animators can do an animation of twitch coming out of stealth like in his medieval and omega squad can have a stealth effect before appearing in the splash art. I can imagine that being pretty difficult to do because of the transparency and lighting effects.
Medieval Twitch certainly has my attention. I was going to play with the stealth effect on Eve on an earlier project that didn't pan out. Maybe I'll play with Twitch and see what happens.
: I heard that Riot has to cut up individual pieces of the splash art and animate them, did you use that method?
Well that's how people like me have to do it, yes. Riot of course has access to the original psd files that may have a much cleaner break down done. What I do is cut out everything that I want to move, and re-draw or fill in the background as best as I can before animation.
: Somebody animate Dragon Master Swain for the love of god
If I did that I would only be able to do the pre-game loading card, not the full splash. I dont think the full splash would be suitable for animation .

: I animated the new Bewitching Janna Splash Art!
I accidentally posted this to general at first, OOPS! If anyone has suggestions on other splashes to animate, let me know! I am always looking for ideas.

: It’s amazing and my only critique would be that the waterfall in the upper left has no animation on it. Bothers me for consisrency’s sake.
You know what's nutty, it actually IS! it's just so light up there it's hard to tell XD

: for the movements do you cut out the objects who you want to be moved and lay it on top of each other?
Yes, everything that moves is removed from the splash, and the background is filled / redrawn to cover the vacancy, then it's just a matter of stacking correctly and animating the layers. If you look on the right shoulder (his left shoulder) you can see a slight error under the movement, I didn't blend out the under-image enough there. The official release does an EXCELLENT job animating his left hand with the coin, but doesn't do as good of a job with the necklace for example. Its a fun hobby if you're looking into it.
: That's amazing! But I'm pretty sure that, due to the fact he's dead, Pyke doesn't breathe.
I mean if we are gonna get stuck on technicalities I'm pretty sure if he was dead he wouldn't be an assassin either. He'd be dead.

: Champion Insights: Tahm Kench, the River King
I have to admit, this guy is not going to fit my play style, and I don't see him competing with other tank supports such as Blitz, Leona, Thresh, or Naut. The idea is certainly different, and I look forward to seeing others with more skill than I show me how useful he can be, until then, I'll pass.
