Personally, from an in-world story logic perspective, I think the idea was that as Gallio is meant to nullify magic on the field, just having a chunk of petricite on a wagon isn't going to be enough against larger magical forces (as there were more of in Demacia's past). To protect a large number of troops against a large number of, let's say, bloodmages, moving something that can have a wide area of effect might make sense, even if it produced challenges in transportation. Moving large objects across large distances (though not intercontinental, as that's not really Demacia's bag, baby) is something that's been done by various civilizations since time immemorial (such as the Welsh stone used to build Stonehenge about 3800 years ago, give or take a few Mondays). So it's not like it's impossible to put Galio out to the battlefield, particularly when it's not too far beyond the edges of Demacia's territory, but the threat would need to be pretty high to make all the effort worthwhile. In regard to him not making sense, for Demacia, he hasn't made sense for quite a while. He fell into legend as, perhaps, Galio's cumbersome nature became less worthwhile as the level of magic threats deteriorated, hence him being left to sit for the grass to grow around for so long. Keep in mind that Galio's origin seems to imply his sculptor, Durand, created something a bit outside the box compared to what was commissioned. Though they didn't get what they expected, the Demacians were able to make use of the stone giant's eye-opening proportion as a magical shield and something to strike fear into enemies' hearts from above the treeline. Who knows what the Demacians actually wanted Durand to make, or why the sculptor created what he did (if he's anything like me when I'm writing a bio, he probably got carried away, or was insane, either really). In any case the happy accident that is Galio proved to be valuable despite his challenging size. Just my two pennies for the 'story logic.' Mainly I just think it's cool we have a living, anti-magic, alabaster giant thundering around when we fancy, both in-game and in-story.

Hi Dolljointed, As has been mentioned elsewhere, SG Lux is not Lux. 'Prime Runeterra' Lux has had no change in the portrayal of her sexuality, whatever that may be. I'm very sorry you feel I lied to you, it was certainly not my intent. When I responded to your original post, it was in regard to exceeding the expectations that have been set previously in handling the topic of sexuality in League's stories. I still believe we will do much better than we have previously, though that in itself isn't a promise to make Lux herself gay. I'm sorry if I gave you the wrong impression, it was in no way meant to be malicious or deceptive. To be clear, what I mean is this: we are aware of a lack of representation of LGBTQIA in previous stories and characters. Many of us at Riot fit into one or more of the letters in the aforementioned acronym. There are reasons why I can't go any further in my explanation of things specific to content, which sucks, I know, but it's one of the pitfalls of the conversation. I wanted to respond to you to say we hear you, to give you encouragement that we didn't take gender/sexuality issues lightly, and that I have complete belief that we will be demonstrating that through content. However, there are things that I couldn't, and still can't go into due to responsibilities to product teams, etc. I did not intend to specifically imply that Lux is lesbian, and if I did so, I apologize. What I wanted to state is that we will do a better job in expressing the many colors of the rainbow through stories and characters as we move forward. I still believe that.

The story in League of Legends the game is your story through the lens of the Champions you play. The story of Runeterra is one that will evolve due to the choices made by the Champions and those characters around them. I rather love both of those types of story.

I agree with you. We (by that I mean Riot) have a lot of balls in the air, and though we have had to do some redefining and fleshing out of some of our Champions and regions that were (or still are) too amorphous (which has been valuable), we also need to pay off some of the things we've set in motion previously. I hope we can deliver things that will excite you as much as they excite me and other folks who are burning to get them to you. I'm sorry I have to be so vague, as I often am, due to production concerns, but yeah we want you to see Ashe raining down ice from the sky, Garen standing across from Darius on a battlefield, Taliyah standing before Azir, and more. We still have much to do. I hope we have begun to build more trust than we did particularly pre-Burning Tides, but we know there's a lot more to earn. All I can say is that from my perspective, there are Rioters old and new challenging things in a way I haven't seen before--and that's saying something--to make these things happen.

I know this is being a tease, which is my comfort zone (just ask Necrit and his gang of lore translators), but think less of these stories as necessarily being 'events' -- which have a variety of definitions anyway. Will these all be 'Burning Tides' style events? No. Will they be lore bundles like Demacia, etc? Maybe, probably not. However, I think just about everything on that list is something that could be either a long-form story or at least a story that can be big enough to be its own thing. I can't be specific, and I'm sorry about that, it's purely due to production reasons and respecting the work of different teams, but we want to tell the stories you mention, as well as the stories that build toward them, and the stories that lead on from them.

I'm sorry, it's honestly just a case of I've been changing a bunch of stuff in what I'm doing behind the scenes here (all for the better), and being a better father and husband by being less crazy with my time (No Scott, you won't go on the boards at 2am, bad Scott!) so I've been a bit sidetracked.
