I know a lot of people will just tell me to mute, but I don't think that actually solves any problems. Sure, it means I won't see the flame - people are still flaming, and other people will still be impacted. It also makes it difficult to communicate sometimes....and removes my ability to see if someone tries to influence the other team into reporting me, which is something I see happen on an alarmingly regular basis. People will lie through their teeth to get someone reported. Muting is definitely a fantastic feature! But I would much rather see the community in a state where muting isn't something you need to regularly use. It's alarming to see people like you say that the game is _improved_ by being unable to see anyone else's chat, ever. If the game is improved by ignoring all the other players, something isn't right.

Making my own thread soon, but I recently had games where people said, I shit you not, "Flaming isn't reportable." This happened in multiple separate instances. I'm completely appalled that this is a sentiment common enough to occur so much, and I think it speaks volumes about the state of the game's community.

The first few events that came out with hextech, it was possible to get everything in the event just by playing. Then they introduced tickets, if you pay, you can get everything from the event. Now the rewards are so slim for events proportional to the rewards that you can do absolutely everything and still be unable to actually get all the rewards. It's very very clearly artificial scarcity, and I'm sick of it.

How do you feel on the state of control mages in the game right now? Damage still feels way too high (and teamfights ending far too quickly as a result) for control mages and other "long-fight" champions to really be effective, which seems to further the problem by pushing those players into burst damage. Looking in particular at Anivia, as she's my most familiar champion.

I am heavily of the mindset that there is too damn much damage in the game right now. Assassins are a huge problem (100-0 in 0.3 seconds is just...not fun to play against. ever) since they make the most ready use of that damage, but there's so much damage in the game that it feels like playing anything squishy just means you die.

If the only possible way to conterplay a champion is build X item or die, there's a problem with the champion. That, and it sucks not having the agency to build what you want. (zed has this issue with Zhonyas)

Been feeling for a long time that damage in the game is definitely too high, and that's only been exascerbated in the current meta. Problem is very largely assassins qnd "pure damage" characters, especially mages, but there's also a lot of champions with far too much ability to deal damage baked into their kit/runes (electrocute bard, Darius) I think damage across the board needs to be toned back considerably. The pace of large fights is simply too fast - there's nothing fun about the 0/3 zed instagibbing you just because he's still zed, or a fight going completely awry because a single stray ability chunks you for 75%. I'm finding most of my bans, and in fact most bans in my games are assassins - that to me indicates a clear problem with player frustration. It's fine to be ahead and hard to kill, less fine for the other team to feel hopeless to stop you, as is often the case right now.
: ASDF for abilities. QWERTY for items 1-6, 1 for Trinket, VB for Summoners, M for Recall. It's super amusing when introducing someone to an iteration on my machine and they end up burning Flash when trying to recall.

Super glad to see the snowball changes. Most of my games have felt decided far too early, before the 15 minute mark and before even laying phase ended. Extremely frustrating to keep losing games because two lanes lost early and feeling powerless to turn the game around. Any thoughts on Nasus/Vayne/Veigar/other extremely lategame champions right now? Many of them feel very weak right now because of the enormous emphasis on early game right now.

Regarding runic echos and MS with assassins - have you considered a second AP jungle item to support true mates? We already have two for autoattackers (Bloodrazer and Warrior, though applications are pretty different). I could see something like a liandry's burn or a supercharged talisman vamp on new jungle item - possible windowed so it's not 100% on. This would open up the jungle far better to control and dot mages who don't necessarily want to sacrifice a build slot for a ludens effect (or want a different lost chapter item). Thinking about Malzahar, Anivia, etc.

Will we be seeing any work or partial reverts on Darius at all? Right now Darius is immensely frustrating to play against, and I think he fell into the same trap as Rengar, LB, Ahri, Kog'Maw, and others, in that being a smaller rework in a group of reworks did not do him justice (this was why the class updates stopped, after all) Darius seems impossible to kill because of how much healing he has, but has so much free damage in his kit that he can easily outduel most champions while also being able to build almost pure tank. It's garbage to have a Darius that's not even ahead get dogpiled by three people and still win. It feels as though he's literally designed to 1v5 the enemy team, which makes no sense from any perspective. He needs to work harder for his damage and his healing both, or be partially reverted to some of his pre rework abilities.

She desperately needed the vision control, and the cc interactions with taunt/fear/charm were never a bug to begin with. For a nerf of this size, it's incredibly odd that Ivern didn't get his own section of the patch notes (nor did Anivia or Trundle, who also recieved similarily huge vision nerfs). I've been in threads all over about this, and it's kind of skeevy of Riot - we need more transparency in the patch notes for nerfs like this, not just an offhand comment at the bottom of the page. 90% of people I talk to in game didn't even realize any of the three vision abilities had been changed in the first place.
: This is a HUGE nerf, I'm getting frustrated because I practically only play immobile mages. Malzahar used to be my main and I don't touch him anymore because he's now sub-par when before he could 100-0. Brand was then my main and he got turned to a support -- he's still viable as mid, but he can't as easily 100-0 someone. I had been learning Anivia who got hit in the mage rework also, albeit fairly. The slow expanding ult is fine, but I wasn't a fan of removing the attack speed debuff on it because I used to SPECIFICALLY pick Anivia when going against champs like Udyr and Trynd. Removing the vision on her wall is a HUGE NERF and it FEELS bad. Like, a nerf will always feel bad. But I mean, the gameplay with her wall now FEELS bad. As OP said, easily 50% of wall interactions revolve around the wall giving vision. Having to wall someone off -- hoping they are still caught while you slowly walk up and ward the bush -- oops they're gone, or oops they turned on you because you were forced to facecheck. What is this? Why? Anivia is the slowest immobile mage. She needed this vision. It doesn't even make sense aesthetically, either. It's a BRIGHT BLUE GLOWING CRYSTAL WALL. It doesn't make sense that it is pitch black around it. To be completely honest, I thought it was a bug when I first realized it didn't give vision lately and was going to report it.
This is exactly my point about transparency in patch notes - Most people didn't even realize the wall got changed at ALL, because it was basically an offhand mention at the bottom of the patch notes. When I was going into games as her, I did a test - I'd mention the vision nerf every game, and in nearly every game, all 4 of my allies had the same reaction: "I didn't even realize anivia got changed!" - even if they'd read the patch notes. Hell, I probably would have missed it myself, even as a dedicated Anivia main, if friends on Discord hadn't noticed it and told me about it. Same issue with the "bugfix" that changed CC interaction.

: Have you looked at his arm? That thing is beefy as hell. Just compare to the guy branding it in his splash art (its bigger than the guy's torso). Plus it looks like his mechanical waist is helping throw them too. His arm is mainly just picking them up.

: Great post! So many little things that are just frustrating! Slow selecting masteries is horrendous currently. Not sure why it became that way, it makes no sense. I totally agree with the countdown timer being too subtle! The non scrolling end game chat is driving me bonkers as well. Also, too small (like alot of things on this client IMO). In regards to store, I feel a lot of the clickable things like "Learn More" for champion info, and the bullets for scrolling through skins are just way too small and precise to click on. Profiles page feels very empty to me. I think background is just recently played? I had Thresh up for awhile, and it swapped over to Morgana after using her for several games last night. Neither Thresh or Morgana are my highest tier champion though.
Hm, interesting, if it is most recently played. Sion is one of my most played toplaners. so it could be that. I'll have to look into it more!

: Mid Year Mage Updates - Low-Scope Mage Directions
As an Anivia Main since I started playing the game, I'm extremely worried about any possible changes to her. While it's true she has a strong niche as a zone control mage, she also has an extremely strong risk/reward burst pattern, which is one of the reasons I was drawn to her as a champion. I don't want her to lose any of her ability to burst just so she can have slightly more zone control, since she starts to feel incredibly ineffective without some of that extra damage to back up her zones. I'm also very worried that in "increasing usability" you'll remove some of her high-end skillful plays - I'm fine if her low-level usability gets a little bit of love, but I don't want to have my ability as a high-skill Anivia player reduced for it.
