Sona's a beast in Ascension but I don't think she'd make my Top 5 "Holy #$)@ Ban That" champions. {{champion:5}} 's probably my nightmare to face for Perfect matches. Mostly due to just be able to pop in, Ult, and solo secure the buff.
: What even is a "Perfect Ascension victory"? The EU LCS Casters call a "perfect game" one in which no towers or allies fall on a particular side, but seeing as I don't think you'll be able to keep your teammates from dying I'm really not sure how you'd expect to win.

A 'Perfect' Ascenion game was designated by Riot when the mode first came out, it is how I obtained the icon I use. A Perfect game is one in which the enemy team never obtains the Ascended buff a single time.
: I understand the severity of the wager but you are literally asking Riot to try and win a game to take away your enjoyment. Plus, don't you think they love their skins and are proud of them and want you to enjoy using them? To be fair, if they wanted me to enjoy the game they'd have kept Dominion. >.> (If I'm lying Riot can call me out on this with a comprehensive Match History check, but literally the only time I'm fairly active in this game anymore is for Ascension, sometimes Nexus Siege, very rarely ARAM.) While I appreciate the concern if it means even having a 'chance' of seeing my old home again then I'd even wager my entire Champion collection as well. Some things are worth fighting for no matter the cost.

: I would really like to play Dominion
Honestly Riot lost a lot of goodwill when they hard-removed Dominion. I joined this game specifically for Dominion. The only friends I had in League all played Dominion. Who cares if the population was fairly small? You have no trouble spending millions of dollars on one-off maps, including all the musical and graphical assets for them, running them for a grand total of 6 days, then sending all the money to the void never to be touched again. The 'cost' argument Riot presented loses it's validity when you look at all their bragging over the money a single Esports skin generates. You know what they could've done if they were so worried about the cost? Make Dominion (or more Ascension) themed skins and have the profits from those go PURELY to paying Dominion's upkeep. Heck, make it a yearly themed event. Goodness knows the community is starved for those since Harrowing and Snowdown no longer really have 'on time' scheduled things anymore. But no, Riot decided "Hey, you know that tiny village over there? Few hundred people in it? You know what would reallly be a good idea? Let's burn it." Because that's how you show you're a great person right? Treating your minorities like ****? {{sticker:slayer-jinx-unamused}}

: If plants flop and we can't find a way to make them work we'll pull them. Can understand the concerns about them so far, would really like to talk a bunch more about them as well once you folks have had a chance to see them in action on the PBE. There's quite a bit of stuff to them we think makes a lot more sense once you've seen it in game than it does when first reading about it on paper. The randomness to them for example is pretty heavily controlled: * They spawn on one of a few pre-determined possible spawn points for their type of plant, each picked to avoid abuse cases and make it fairly intuitive where you'll find them. * Their spawning timing's similarly controlled (every 90-110s sort of thing, not full random). They also won't spawn at all in some circumstances (e.g. before/during first clears for example) * There are some strict fairness controls on them to ensure they don't meaningfully favor one side of the map over the other (should get generally equal plant spawns across the two sides of the map over a period of time) They're also nowhere near as frequent, or obtrusive, as some people have worried they'll be. As a jungler you'll probably consider personally interact with a plant every minute or so. This isn't a system that'll be constantly demanding your attention, or dictating your major choices, more one you'll take advantage of occasionally. For what it's worth we've had a bunch of people visit the offices to playtest pre-season changes here over the past month or so, some of them regular players, some of them Pros. Feedback on plants has generally been pretty good, with some good suggestions for improvement as well that we've either incorporated or are working on. It's certainly a system though that we're expecting will, at a minimum, need some follow up tuning and support, and one that could need more significant changes if it doesn't work as hoped. Talking about all that should get a lot easier as well once stuff's on the PBE next week too as above. In the meantime though if there are details you'd like to know please do ask though, would love to talk about them.

Do two modes per cycle, make sure the modes are thematically opposite. Say for example, Nemesis Draft and Ascension on a single weekend. If you want the snowballing style game play with zero agency, you can go ND. If you want the more team fight focused, pro-choice map, you can go As. Considering you once had Dominion and the original version of Poro King up at the same time, I know your servers 'should' be able to handle running a double shift. Especially since they're just temp.
: Interesting idea! :] Here are two of my initial thoughts~~ How do you feel about the rotating game modes on weekends? Do those feel like you can be a bit more Teemo-y and spammy without having to deal with Faker Jrs? Have you thought about custom games? At Riot, we play silly games all the time... like 'protect the Soraka' [5v5, each team has 4 players and a beginner bot Soraka; team with most Soraka kills wins], or 'hide the pink ward' [5v5, each player buys nothing but a pink ward and places within first couple min, win by destroying all 5 of the opposing team's wards], etc... there's really no limit to what kinna crazy stuff you can make up in customs!
Rotating modes usually get too imbalanced by a few factors to be considered 'pick anything' modes. Primarily that the team with a Tank will predominantly auto-win against the team without. While you don't have to go 'full serious'; they're still far too punishing for non-comping random groups to really enjoy. Would really help the modes be far more enjoyable if you incorporated Role Pick and instead of the lane roles you used the archetypes. Mage, Tank, ect. And then hard locked the queue so that only Tank v Tank and no-Tank v no-Tank teams would play. Any increase in queue time would far outweigh having to sit through 20+ minutes of one sided hell.
: "new" is an interesting choice because Playtest, to my knowledge, has never tested anything but SR. However, just because our individual team does not focus on this map, does not mean that other teams are not. For example I know the balance team took a look last patch.
You're unfamiliar with your own company's history then. Please go research Rioters Nome then ManWolfAxeBoss circa 2012-2013. Not only was there a group (albeit small) SPECIFICALLY devoted to Dominion-only changes but they also pushed what used to be our top MMR players through with priority passes onto the PBE to have those changes also tested by them.

So you go to blow it away. Focus Sash kicks in, leaving Rattata at 1HP (sound like someone's Ult?). -Rattata uses Endeavour, a 100% accuracy move that sets your opponent's HP to YOUR HP. -Next round, Rattata uses Quick Attack, a move that always goes first unless countered by another Quick Attack. Even if it only does 1HP of damage...that's all you need. -Once the trick is done, Focus Sash rests and cannot be used again til a new battle. {{champion:23}} in a nutshell.
: whats the ign for this post? Sakuri Ono is an aram only account. Are both of those mid lane or is one mid and one support? Wards placed? Pinks purchased? Wards destroyed? Lane partners cs? Damage to turrets? Kill distribution, ie did you kill the same person over and over again or were you killing everyone on the enemy team? Kill locations, ie were you roaming for your kills (showing map awareness) or were they just wandering into your lane after you had already been fed? Your gold lead relative to the enemy team? You got more overall gold in the bottom game but maybe the enemy did too so you had less of a relative lead.

Top game I had to do a lot of roaming so they came from every lane. Got a kill on Diana early but once she hit 6 it wasn't too safe to stay. Bottom started pretty heavy on Swain but since they ran an engage heavy comp a lot of the kills came from teamfight R sweeps. 68.7K to 80.5K their favor Top; 88.6K to 86.1K their favor Bottom

: Comparing Cassiopeia and Serqet is like apples to oranges tho. Serqet is an assassin who thrives on hitting her phsyical abilities to apply a poison catalyst to her foes and her auto attack after causes it to pop dealing bonus damage, with her ulti being the only real "dot" on her kit. being a %true damage dot. not only that Serqet has a ton of mobility in her kit, from her Q being a line skillshot of 3 quick dashes, or her E being a stealthed jump further than zac's jump. Cassiopeia SHOULD be a poison mage who emphasizes on keeping her poison up on multiple enemies draining their hp over time and using her twinfangs for filler damage, right now shes just a machinegun of broken E keys.

That's why I just said 'ala Serqet' rather than 'clone Serqet'. Just wanting the comparison because she's fully cohesive with her poisons. Cass has 'some' cohesion on her E, a tacked on passive, then an R outta left field.
: Cassiopeia Twin Fang expectations
Riot, your design team should spend some time playing one of your competitor's games, Smite. There is a unit over there named Serqet. Her entire kit uses poisons and everything is poison synergized. What I want for Cass is for her E (and maybe her R) to be removed entirely in favor for a fully linked poison-kit ala Serqet.

: Anti-Stealth options and Dominion
Edit: Well...that format spacing came out annoying...I'll think about fixing it later. Feel free to gloss over this entirely just to not be buggered by the eye strain. I always find it silly when people grumble about Sweeper being a dead buy outside of anti-stealth. There are loads of blind corners where vision just cuts off, brush juke points, ect. where just a few seconds of vision make the difference between securing a kill for a mid-push and letting someone get away for a full team reset. If your Tank doesn't know how to do this they need to learn how to utilize vision more efficiently. And it's not like they're proactively losing stats for that vision either. I perpetually run Clairvoyance on everything since I haven't felt like Tanking in eons. So I'm constantly losing the benefit or having a Heal or a Barrier or even an Ignite. Still manage to contribute and win games just fine. So tell your Tanks to stop bellyaching. XD The Lightbringer I can see possibly needing some tuning but again this is just a weird issue to see being a thing. I've chased down Shaco with Draven just because no one on the team can be bothered to, and it's worked out just fine. Talon and Kha'zix are issues much most ADCs worth their salt won't be a position where you can't at least trade 1 for 1. Akali, Leblanc , and Teemo you don't really 'need' vision for. Stay away from the Shroud, let her go because with that little health she's done for, and don't walk over obvious spots are all solid enough counters. A bit of MR goes a long way too. I dunno, I think this is one point where I'll just be sitting opposite of everyone else. I think vision is just fine now and even more would be too oppressive.

Commencing Analysis. {{champion:161}} Tormented Soil putrefies the earth with corrosive, toxic energies. You can see in the very image of the ability that these elements are affected by some sort of updraft. Be it air currents, magical elevation, or simply the force of the poisoned earth erupting into existence. This creates a tainted zone where this soil is being carried up, into the air, via particle form or simple by transference; much like how you don't neat to be touched a hot coil of metal to be effected by the heat it generates. From there these particles, energies, ect; inflict their negative effects either through being inhaled, absorbed through skin, or as in the heat example merely by being too close to the source. Thus, it makes perfect sense that Tormented Soil damages fliers.

: Ya know Dominion is actually pretty fun.
Riot's been pretty proactively trying to bury Dominion for years. The player base gained momentum in the years over it's release. We had a pretty solid tournament scene going on for I want to say 3-3.5 years total. If you want to see the history of it nearly in full I suggest you give Gandair's Youtube a look since he's archived as much of it as he could. https://www.youtube.com/user/VATOCLAN But yeah, it's been a sad history of ill-hearted promises and some of the most passive-aggressive betrayals of customer faith a company has ever done. Riot makes Electronic Arts look like saints in that department. Not once, but twice the Dominion community had to make massive, month long pushes on the original forums, garnishing over thousands of posts and +'s just to get a Red to come on and say "Yeah, we lied, sorry." They tried to pretend like they were going to pay attention, and for a while it looked golden. We got our own dev to do map specific changes, item balances, ect. And he was pretty proactively involved with the community...for about a month. Then Riot yanked him away once they saw things were actually being properly fixed and tossed a lower tier Rioter our way (not in an insulting way, literally just someone lower in the company hierarchy). Changes trickled slower and slower, outright broken things (see immediate post-buff Thresh) took several weeks to even be addressed. And all communication dried up again. One more push was finally made with another massive topic and Riot finally came out and said "Nope, we don't care." The community pretty much fled en masse after that. Tournaments died down. Forums changed to boards and Riot left anything Dominion related to languish in the sea of ARAM, TT, and Mode of the Month posts. So now all that's left is pretty much a small pittance of people who stick around just out of a mixture of spite and passion. If you ever, ever see a Red post about Dominion it'll be because a topic like this somehow gets 300+ upvotes and I guarantee you it'll be nothing more than "Yeah, we screwed up. No, we're going to do nothing about it." It's the same mantra they've been spewing since everyone realized they lied about the initial Ranked promise.
: Kindred doesn't have a "capture" animation for points on Dominion.
They forgot Dominion existed a long time ago. They even welched on paying out RP prizes for the last few officially sanctioned Dominion tournaments too.
: Hexakill has no viable champ diversity: it's a mage-fest (with fixes and predictions)
Rather disagree with Marksmen being completely second fiddle to Mages here. Went through my history and every single Marksman game I played was not only a win but a fairly heavy contribution on my end of things. Never once did I feel like any Mage in my arsenal would be any better of a pick. This mode already exists as the primary PvP mode of a MOBA called Dead Island Epidemic. Consider DIE's existence a long running case study of why this style of play simply doesn't function with a modern audience. Whoever gets an early lead is immediately and endlessly ganged up on by the other two teams, regardless of how the flow of battle turns out. Further more, in such modes the community develops a mindset that if you don't continually kill the 'First Ahead' team, even if you're going to lose to Team #2 by doing so, you're playing incorrectly and will draw verbal flaming up the whazoo for any deviation from this style. Unfortunately the majority of people who play games simply do not understand rudimentary tactics; so anything more complicated than 1 Team v 1 Team doesn't work.
