: Honestly considering quitting ranked
Quitting ranked has certainly crossed my mind. And I've encountered some doozies myself. Despite what several people on the forums tell me, many of the losses I've had in ranked are not all my fault. It's tough to ADC when your support rushes in thinking THEY are the ADC and don't heal / shield you. Of course, these are the same people that would scream bloody murder if you were the support and doing those things.
: Permaban Account Buyback System
I have a moral issue with that. You are given four chances to clean up your act before Riot permanently suspends you. If you go through all of that, are banned for bad behavior, and then told "For X amount of dollars, we'll give you your account back," that negates the punishments you were given. You're basically told that you can screw up, be banned forever, but come back honky dory clean by merely forking over a few dollars. Sorry. The rules are there for a reason. You must follow them. If you break them, there are consequences. Break them enough and you clearly have demonstrated that you don't belong here. This isn't Monopoly where you pay $200.00 to get out of jail and move on like nothing happened.

: My support says wards are an ADC item
"Ward is not a sup item." And people tell me I'm bad.
: Why are @Riot employees held to a lower standard than League players?
**Should Riot employees be held to a higher standard than the Average Joe League players?** No. The rules apply to everyone equally. As do the punishments. I haven't watched anything. But if a Riot employee did say "feeding report for sure," that employee has violated the rules. You're not allowed to say you're going to report people even if you do. If the employee was reported for this, they should be punished accordingly. I doubt they were reported though.

So many posts are asking this question lately. Yet I am often told I'm the reason I lose so many games. Hmph.
Xyrei (NA)
: I have recieved a 14 day ban for excessively negative attitude, and I have a few question's.
I believe a ban exceeding the fourteen day chat restriction does prevent you from getting seasonal rewards. I'm not sure about the "Pool Party" event you've mentioned though.
DLMousey (EUW)
: Can we get a "Ping Restriction"?
There is a ping restriction. But even with it in place, you can still be reported for map spam. Just mention that in your ticket comments.
: A question to Moderators and Players...
"Flaming" requires talking. Just don't type anything out and you're not flaming.
: Getting tilted extremely hard when playing ranked.
I empathize. But at the level you are, playing randoms means you're going to get those types of people. I cannot fathom why anyone at that high of level would be playing with anyone who is not on a trusted premade team. You're just asking to lose points if you don't. That's what I think anyway.
Nehmu (NA)
: Should you lose points for your teamates going AFK?
I honestly don't know how Riot could design a system that determines that you played a good game but still reward you when someone else AFKs or fails to even meet minimum scoring requirements. I don't think it is even possible.
: Dude, you are in a dream world..you have 30% win ratio in bronze 5:))..too bad they don't have wood division. Learn to farm, learn to build, and play something else(janna soraka).. if you actually want to climb:D a pro tip;)..you can have max 40 or 45% cdr(with masteries..in your last game you had 50% cdr:)..also, don;t pick morrelos if you already have queens frost:))..it's the same thing;)..

Right. And that is entirely my fault. Completely. I'm the one who makes every mistake in the game to cost the team the win. You are another person I wish I could permanently ignore on the forums. You offer nothing of substance. Your comment that I had 50% CDR proves you also have no knowledge of the game; 45% CDR is the maximum you can have and that requires a Mastery selection. Otherwise, 40% is maximum.

: Hiyo Samus, I see you often enough on these boards. Surely you know that as fellow support mains, we like sharing our stories on how we get abused by our ADC when things go wrong, but get little praise when things go right. Though I'm also a Bronzie like you, there are a few things I know that you don't. So if you'd allow me to shed some light here and there, hopefully you can feel better / get enlightened. > [{quoted}](name=Samus72,realm=NA,application-id=ZGEFLEUQ,discussion-id=xT4M5QEJ,comment-id=,timestamp=2016-02-08T20:27:25.734+0000) > 1. "Don't CS." I used to hate being told that. Like any player, I need gold as well in order to buy better items. However, I've relented on this one and stopped going for Minion kills and instead rely on gold income items to give me gold. It's not the best way to amass gold. So, I've selected Mastery abilities that reward gold as well (one gold per nearby kill.) Don't forget that the mastery 'Bandit' Also gives you gold when you auto attack an enemy champion once every few seconds (8 seconds CD I think?), if you are using a ranged support, you can definitely generate some gold that way! Melees do generate more gold this way as well, which mean you don't have to stand around a wait for your hook to come back from CD, you can just dash up to the enemy and give them an uppercut when they are about to get that cannon minion CS. > 2. "Stay behind the group." Support characters are not supposed to be on the front line. Even if you play as a tank, if you're in front as support, players don't like it. Since most true support characters are not designed to be leading the way as they have less armor and / or hit points, this is an easy rule to follow. Actually this depends on who you are playing, and what your team comp is like. Most supports are balanced around the fact they get less gold, so Leona / Braum / Alistar can still be very tanky even if they don't have that much gold compared to the rest of their team. [This video about support positioning may also be of interest to you.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PczkLBCjAWE) > 3. "Follow me in no matter what." The vast majority of ADCs that I am supposed to support on the bottom row fully expect me to go in with them as they attack enemy players. Two on one, three on one, even four on one, if I do not stay right with them and keep them alive, I'm a failed support. Yea .. this one is a tricky one. I can normally tell how good my ADC is based on their positioning in lane, if they do suck, I do ditch them early and roam more and apply pressure to other lanes. Make sure you ward for them in attempts to keep them safe. Pinging them when you see danger (get used to using the "G" key quickly), and make sure you let them know you are leaving lane. Keep in mind you are the team's support, not only your ADCs. Its ok to support the person who's most fed on the team, as that is who is doing all the lifting on the team. > Only the first two rules are rules I agree I should, and do, follow. Occasionally, I will attack minions with the intention of whittling them down for the ADC. But I will avoid making the killing blow. Some ADC's don't like this claiming it screws up their "internal wait timer" (the phrase is my invention) which I think is rather silly on their part. If you can't keep your eyes on a minion health bar and react to that, then there is something wrong with you. Pushing lanes, Freezing lanes are things you need to pay attention to and learn in due time. Its not always advisable to AA the minions as that pushes your wave. [Video on Wave Control](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQY2mHp3_c0) Granted, at the lower ELOs, its about timing the last hits and a support's AAs do screw up their timings, especially if they have been practicing that way in customs. Eventually they'll get better at it, but make sure you pay attention to how many minions are hitting that specific minion. Sometimes having you practice CSing will help you understand how ADCs think when they are CSing. Also, keep in mind a few things about AAing minions: * It takes 2 turrets hit + 1 AA to kill a melee minion * It takes 2 AAs + 1 turret hit to kill a cast minion So if you want to set up your ADC to last hit under tower (without your minion's interference), AA the caster minions once, let the turret hit the minion once, and then let the ADC last hit that minion. > with no mana left for another heal, I turned and ran back. In my mind, it was better to retreat then give the enemy team two kills worth of XP and gold. The Vayne again accused me of not healing and said, and I'm quoting them here, "You have full health. Rak's heals use hit points." True. Soraka's heals DO use 10% of her hit points upon casting. But there is still a mana cost. Fifty mana at level five if I am not mistaken. Resource management is something you'd have to get used to. You don't need to use skills all the time, AAs do dmg too (and it triggers bandit gold generation), although it gets minion aggro, so you need to be careful when doing that. Everyone's HP does regen (most ADCs have lifesteal as well), so its ok to take some damage and trade, you don't always have to use your HP / Mana (as Soraka) to top them up. If it is a small amount, let them regen it back up. Also, alot of people don't pay enough attention to mana bars. So do let them know when you are low on mana. Finally, your itemization choice matters. If you are running low on mana constantly, you might want to consider rushing mana regen items. As Soraka, {{item:3114}} {{item:3096}} are pretty good items to buy. > At the end of the game, three members of the team demanded in post-game chat to report me for "feeding and going AFK." I was not AFK in the match. Even when standing behind another player and not attacking minions (rule 1 above,) I was not AFK. I also don't see how they could justify me feeding the enemy team; I died twice to the enemy team's Lux. > > In any event, I don't think Riot will punish me for this. Indeed you won't get punished. Surely you've been in Player Behavior boards enough to know that false reports don't do anything other than lower the report score of the people doing the reports.
Kei143, I do not enjoy ragging on others. it is very frustrating to be given team mates who play in a manner detrimental to the goal of winning. No matter what anyone says, I do not see the value in jumping in to player kills at level three. And yes, I will let stupidity kill itself. They'll blame me for the death every time though. I really would like to advance. However, one cannot solo win a team game. Micheal Jordan had to have someone get rebounds, pass him the ball, block for him, etc, etc. The pro's at last weekend's tournament know this. No one else seems to think so. So far, I've had one series given to me. After two miserable losses filled with bad decisions by the other four members, my series ended and I could not advance. As a support, I can only do so much. When the ADC leaps in and is obliterated even with heals, how am I ever going to advance? I already know what items are best for Soraka. In fact, I had both the items you mentioned during the game in question. But it didn't matter. It's almost like nothing I do or say matters since all my actions get replies like "U R bad just for picking support." I wish there was a way to ignore certain people on the forums. All you can currently do is down vote which isn't any kind of solution unless fifty or so people also down vote the same post. I sometimes even wonder why I use support characters in a support role. I don't often see the Pro's using Janna or Sona. Rarely do I see Soraka get used although Soraka is used more than the other two. Maybe I should use Cho'gath as support. But somehow, I doubt people would approve.

MeilinII (NA)
: It's certainly not going to help you. Even if you play an off-meta pick REALLY REALLY well, the amount of your teammates who get toxic/tilted because you're playing off-meta may result in you losing games you could/should be winning. Not in any way your fault, but true. The amount of flame I've gotten for "In meta, out of style" supports like Sona and Nami is stupid. -_-

Then I guess I really am playing League wrong.
: Am i allowed to play how i want?
I play who I want to play. If you ask around, it's why I cannot advance in rank. Whether I agree with that is debatable.
: Undeserved chat restriction
Any time I see a word like "undeserved" in a topic complaining about a ban or chat restriction, I already know the punishment is deserved. You almost don't even have to post in the thread to point it out. I did though. Bad me.
: Deaf to the Truth : The Real Reason League of Legends is More Toxic Than CS:GO
: Can someone help me , this seems unfair.
That's a lot of text. Did you play the game or chat the entire time?
: "Defending yourself" from toxic people is like getting mad at the rain for being wet
Illogical. Rain is wet. It's one of the defining characteristics of rain. Rain contains water. Water is what it is. Neither rain nor water are sentient and able to make choices about themselves. Toxic players choose to be toxic. I can choose to dislike people who make the choice to only be toxic. Rain won't do that to me. Nor can it.
: Does reporting people ACTUALLY do anything?
People keep asking that question. "Does reporting do anything?" If all the "Why was I banned?" posts don't answer that question, I don't know what else to say. I also keep wondering why people say it is the Tribunal that's issuing out punishments. The Tribunal is not active and hasn't been for some time.
: You have been misinformed on some area. In general, you should run "Flash" instead of "Ghost." You NEED to buy sightstone, buy it on your first back. You have to lowest ward number compared to you team. >Occasionally, I will attack minions with the intention of whittling them down for the ADC. Generally, you don't attack them, not even whittling them down, unless you are shoving. You attack cs ONLY, if you adc is not around and you only last hitting them. >Even if you play as a tank, if you're in front as support, players don't like it. You are misinformed, other posts exaplained it already. > There wasn't time to type out "Incoming!" and, with no mana left for another heal, I turned and ran back. You don't type, you have ping (Press G). > They were going to continue to dive in to fights they could not win leaving me to be slaughtered when the enemy bottom laners pushed to the turret. I'd have the choice of dieing quickly feeding them XP and gold or running away and losing the turret. I assumed that you are talking about mid game, which I do agree with your decision to group and help others. You are doing the right thing to mute them, rather than retaliating. All in all, however, I don't see how this post get downvoted. OP only has some misconception about how to play support, as well as frustrated and upset. I don't see him raging like other posts I've read.

It was move out and live or ping / heal and die. And if I'm not attacking something, people accuse me of being AFK and not helping. I'm still waiting for Jamaree to tell me why I'm stuck in Bronze V. I doubt he'll respond with anything intelligent though. But it's responses like Jamaree's that have this topic down voted. I'll look in to the Sightstone. But I prefer vision wards that are permanent as opposed to ones that last only 150 seconds. But if that's what must be done, so be it.

: Should Riot be permanently banning accounts without looking at the gameplay footage?
It depends. Were you reported for being AFK? Unless there is a way to see that you were AFK other than watching the game itself, I'd watch the game and see. Are you reported for bad language? All that is needed is a chat log.
: How do I deal with trolls in ranked?
You can report them. That is all you can do.
: How can I contact the moderators about Forum moderation?
Every time I see "TheCurator" post, I envision that giant, mechanical boss in WoW's Medivh's Tower. "The Menagerie is for guests only." It also means that TheCurator's post is here because someone's post(s) have demanded their attention. Never a frivolous thing at all.

: Just wish you guys would spend as much effort on working a system in that would ban actual trolls, not people having a game but people who intentionally run in to towers to feed lanes, troll other peoples lanes ect. People and game sites have been praising the upgrade. NOW that the client is updated, it's time for Riot to look at updating some other things like player behavior and how the behavior is handled. We'll have to see if Riot does that as they said they would.

: Trolls I Report Don't Get Punished
Are you sure about that?
: A possible way of dealing with AFK's.
I honestly don't know what would be the best way to punish AFKers, and make it a real punishment, in a free game. If you had to pay for game access, it's quite an incentive to not commit offenses because if you are locked out, you have to pay again to play. Here, you just AFK all you want until you're banned. Then, you make a new account. Is that a punishment?

: Let's discuss Dynamic Queue and the new Champion Select
My only complaint is that it takes longer to find games now. I used to have five minutes at most waiting for a game with the old system. Now, it takes twenty minutes and frequently longer to find a game. That's on normal. Ranked is not much faster. But ranked is still filled with more "colorful metaphors" than normal. I wonder if the finder is going with the full meta (jungler, adc, support, top, mid) and not starting until it finds that. Maybe a jungler is not needed. Oh, well. I don't have a say in this because I'm not a game programmer. But I can tell you that the length of time it takes to find a game has soured me on League a bit and sent me back to HotS. (Did you know that turning off chat in that game has made it better? Well, I learned it in League first.)

: Why is LeaverBuster so harsh?
It's not harsh. It's equal across the board for everyone. Have to AFK to answer the phone one time? Five minute wait. Have to leave because your kid got their head stuck in the stairwell? Five minute wait. Wife burned her hand and you left the computer to help her? Five minute wait. Internet connection fails and you're disconnected from the game? Five minute wait. One time won't hurt you. Five times and you may want to secure your kids, fix your internet, etc.

: Riot does have the ability to check the current standing of your account, but I don't see them handing that info out to people regularly. If you're lucky, you might get a Rioter to respond here and offer up that info. Beyond that, if you've not been punished in the last 6 months, then at worst your next punishment tier should be a 25-game chat restriction, at worst. It's structured like this: - 10-game chat restriction - 25-game chat restriction - 14-day ban - Permanent ban It takes 3 months without a punishment to drop down one tier. So, at worst, if just over six months ago you were got a 14-day ban, you next punishment tier would be a permanent ban. Six months of good behavior would drop you 2 tiers, so your next would be a 25-game restriction instead.
If you send in a support ticket inquiring about your status, Riot will respond. It may take a few days though. How do I know this? I've done it! Back when I was getting at least one false report per game, I asked Riot about the status of my account.

: What's the general impression towards people who exclusively play Co-op vs. AI?
Playing against the A.I. is okay if you want a win for the once-a-day bonus. But I was told back when HotS was first released that if all you do is play against the A.I., even at the hardest difficulty level, you're developing very bad playing habits. The A.I. can only play in a certain manner. If you master the way the A.I. responds, a human player will take you completely by surprise and just wipe you out. Still, you can learn a bit from A.I. games. You're shown somewhat the character's abilities (if the A.I. uses them.) But beyond that, and the guaranteed wins, A.I. doesn't offer much.
