: problem is tenacity is actually a lot more useless then people realize, yes it reduces the duration of stuns but only to 0.5 seconds, you cannot reduce a stun below this duration, another thing making this useless, is just how many displacement based stuns are actually in the game (knock ups/ knock backs, etc.) because so many stuns are considered a displacement rather then an actual stun (im gonna say around...20-30% of stuns are actually considered a displacement, some examples are as follows {{champion:133}} E/ {{champion:254}} Q/ {{champion:119}} E/ {{champion:33}} Q/ {{champion:113}} Q/ {{champion:517}} E/, there are more but these are the ones off the top of my head, they say stun but in fact are displacements, meaning tenacity doesn't affect their duration) i feel tenacity is a very overvalued stat imo, could be wrong, but its my opinion, (i still take the rune on bruisers and such though since it does help with roots aswell)

I was like "Why? Why is this a thing?" It's such a stupid decision when you consider how much of the CC in the game are in fact not direct stuns.
: Like this? {{item:3109}} Riot has stated in the past that "invisible stats" are not good, and in general players agree (old Taric, anyone?). They dont feel impactful to the player because you cant really see what difference they make without looking closely, and other players cant really tell either. And they are boring. Of course, having 5 different actives is another kind of issue. Note how a lot of support items (and runes) have transitioned to being additional effects for other actions. There are a lot of ways to increase lane sustain; relic shield, various runes, a few items. Adding more passive stats would have to be done carefully, even more so for healing. Something like converting damage to shields into a regen effect for an ally would be cool..

Remember, "Invisible Stats" and "Hidden Power" are unhealthy to League, but Runes that your opponents pick that don't tell you what they picked is a-okay.
: Likewise, if you are not enjoying the game, just stop playing. If nothing has changed, then that's a very good indicator that your opinions were not shared by any the League player base at large. You (not you specifically OP) do not have to always like the same game. Your tastes and wants will develop over time, and it could very well be that what you want is not what the majority does. And that's perfectly fine. What that doesn't mean is that Riot has to cave to your desires to make it how *you* want it. They will make the game towards what gives the most amount of players the most enjoyment.

You are seeming to imply that the game hasn't gotten worse over time and that it boils down to 'our tastes changing.' And while I agree that peoples tastes certainly change (and that whether this game is worse or not is subjective), the overwhelming opinion I hear from these boards and people that I know both online and in person is that League has gotten far worse due to the handling by corporate and the balance team. This game solely exists to milk money out of people with addictive spending personalities and to cater to eSports money-making. It is no longer a game anymore--it's a husk that is being reanimated to sell toys (skins) to people who can't help themselves.
Tsuko (NA)
: Really love how this game is balanced around what champion sells the most skins.
Riot is owned by Tencent. Riot will never, EVER get better. It is beyond impossible. Unless Tencent was some how dissolved (or they sold League of Legends to the workers at Riot and relinquished their ownership of the company) and the company was rebuilt from mostly the ground up with a union of workers that actually cared about making a good video game for people to enjoy, there is no chance League of Legends will get better.

: You're.... you're giving more damage to Flask and reducing it's lane sustain?
I buy Corrupting Potion on almost every top laner I play because I can't deal with all the ranged bullies that exist in top lane. Doran's Shield is trash and will most definitely not help you with ranged bullies and once you use that single health potion that you took with you your lane is over if your opponent is ahead in CS and HP. So, great, please do nerf the only item that kind of helps me not die as much in top lane to all the damn mages and adc's and poke melee champions with gap closers there are.
IPERFECTO (EUW)
: @Riot About the Teemo's rework in PBE server
Just rework this champion already. Give him an actual ultimate, get rid of his W and make his W his R. Decrease his oppressiveness in lane but give him tools to survive his lane. He's the 'swift scout' and yet he isn't very fast and doesn't do much scouting. Riot keeps trying to fix something that can't be fixed without changing his skills and it's pretty clear they don't want to put the effort in to rework him like he needs.

: Question: How do you view Riot?
Where's the part that says "Badly"? Also, Elon Musk is a piece of human garbage. Why would you want to compare yourself to him? Why would you put him as a 'positive' example? "Of the people" are you kidding me? He treats his employees like trash, and people trying to make the world a better place even worse than that. He tries to capitalize on others suffering and offers no solutions to problems despite his 'philanthropic savior' image. Building a rail system that only the wealthy will use that does not solve infrastructure problems within the US is not a solution. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dn6ZVpJLxs
: Riot wants to have sexy anime girls in their game. They don't care about monster characters. They didn't years ago and they still don't now. I remember how excited people were for a female monster character. Then we got Elise. A big tiddied human that can also be a spider. Being a spider wasn't good enough--she had to have big ol' tiddies. If Anivia was released today she'd be a damn Harpy.
I like monster characters in media. Handsome, ugly--it doesn't matter. Riot doesn't do 'ugly' though. The closest champions that could be ugly are Cho'gath, Rek'sai, Shaco and maybe Fiddlesticks and Dr. Mundo. And some of those are pretty subjective. Even Urgot's rework made him more visually appealing--he has toned arm muscles now and his face is less grotesque. He probably wouldn't win a mister universe competition or anything, but he's not hideous.

Singed should have gotten a proper rework years ago. His entire identity is not expressed in his kit very well. Particularly his ultimate. He's a mad scientist/chemist, and his ultimate is a glorified steroid (which to me are among the most boring ults in the game) that turns him into a tea kettle. His W is a fun idea but it's awkward to use in conjunction with his E. He's just a mess.

: As a jungler, the enemy jungler invades and steals my second buff
I personally believe that League's jungle ecosystem has always been bad. But maybe that's just me. One thing I do like about DOTA 2's jungle (as complicated as it is) is that you don't necessarily need to have a jungler. There are more options in there too.

I personally would like Wit's End to give HP and cooldown reduction and have some kind of mechanic for it to work with certain fighters and tanks. I'm probably in the minority here though.

: Utility buffs are pro play buffs. Bruiser-build Trundle is dead, has been dead, and he's been running IBG+Tank+Support tank items any time he's been decent since, like ,season 6 or 7. He deserves a damage or a damage scaling bonus. Getting a decent chunk of AD isn't particularly impressive when you have exactly one means of applying it. Let Trundle be a proper Juggernaut again.

Getting a decent chunk of AD isn't particularly impressive when you have exactly one means of applying it. Let Trundle be a proper Juggernaut again. Yeah that really bothers me about how he steals your AD but it only works on his autos and Q, lol. Honestly I think his W should just be changed to something else because as it is right now it's 'visually' fun to look at but it isn't very fun to use. And I do play a fair amount of Trundle top and I always feel like something is missing.

He was also designed when League had far fewer champions and not nearly as much CC and dashes. Melee auto attackers could work back then because it was a completely different game. There is a reason there are no new melee champions that use just auto attacks to get their jobs done. Look at the last 30+ melee champions released and you won't find one example of a melee champion that has abilities that are all related to simply auto attacking with no other unique interaction. https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_champions Sort by release date, see that Udyr is 10 years old, then go to the most recent released champions and scroll down and note that none of them are as binary as Udyr. Kled might rely on auto attacks but Kled has two dashes with his E, and a long range uninterruptible ultimate to close the gap, combined with health shredding very fast auto attacks on his W. Aatrox might rely on autos for some of his damage but his passive as well as his Q and W still dish out tons of CC, healing and utility.

The fact that Udyr is held back by mini-cooldowns and can't switch faster really hurts his ability to interact with enemy champions. Every dive with Udyr is the same. You shield, you bear stance, hit the enemy, and switch to Tiger or Phoenix (probably Tiger) and hope you can kill them sooner than they can dash away from you or dump CC on you. Other Fighters and Bruisers might have less HP and/or armor than Udyr (Udyr packs a respectable 102 armor at level 18--PYKE HAS 130 FOR SOME REASON) but Udyr is limited in his interactions because all he can do is walk at you and auto. He lacks mechanical depth and is thus easily countered. Hecarim has the same job as Udyr: to dive important targets. The difference between Udyr and Hecarim is that Hecarim is faster than a cheetah and has two forms of CC and a CC immune gap closing AOE Fear. Don't you think if Udyr's ability switching were changed to instant would break him? I have a weird feeling that if this happens he can go all speedy Gonzales while being Gamera at the same time and will be able to catch you while taking minimal damage (unless cc) and melt you easily.

: What defines a badly designed champion?
{{champion:77}} He is the most binary champion in the entire game. All he can do is auto attack and he has to be right next to you to deal any damage. I agree with all of the others though. You are missing Teemo however. His gameplay is one dimensional and he exists solely to be a meme and annoying with no late game potential.
D O Cane (EUW)
: Crowd Control is OUT of control.
Don't forget that a few years ago Riot nerfed Mercury Treads and (IIRC) changed the way Tenacity ratios work.
: What happened with auras in the game?
Riot didn't like 'invisible power.' That's what they called it anyway. The idea that you couldn't easily see something being done to help or harm you bothered their weird game philosophy. Which I slightly agree with, but on the other hand it also limits creativity for abilities being more varied.
: I have tested and played for almost 10 years, any of the old timers at Riot will recognize my name... This has to be about the most tone deaf response/announcement in Riot history. I actually remember when the ethos of Riot was doing right by the players, and that player experience counted above all, listening to feedback. What happened? The players made it clear they wanted Riot to pull back on the Prestige skins. To asses their value and frequency of release. Yet here you are, announcing not only more, but for a hefty price. There is no "Prestige" in having more money than another person. Nor is there "Prestige" in falling into what is an obvious money-grab. This is something Electronic Arts would do, not Riot Games.
This is late capitalism. And it's bad.
: Why is Gangplank's E so overloaded?
I hate Gangplank's 'new' E. To me his rework ruined the champion for me. I hate micro managing the barrels and it feels thematically dumb. It's like Riot's team thought to themselves: "What do pirates have?" and someone said "Duuhhhhhh ships have barrels on them and barrels contain gun powder sometimes!" and that was it. No further thought needed. The fact that he summons them out of thin air from the ground slays me. If he at least tossed the barrel and could shoot it while it's in the sky that would be interesting visually.

: > Why is it that a 'lightning bear' (which is Volibear's theme) is barely using any lightning in his abilities? Actually his theme is thunder, storm, lightning in general, according to his lore and things he say. But you are right, it's not really visualized in his kit, unfortunately.
Thunder is technically the sound lightning makes. "a loud rumbling or crashing noise heard after a lightning flash due to the expansion of rapidly heated air." That being said, I used to be confused about it too and I still get it mixed up sometimes.

: TEEMO
Teemo needs a complete rework and always has. He will always be a joke character as long as Riot decides to feed into the stupid meme that he has mostly been throughout his time in League.
: Conqueror doesn’t beat grasp in terms of giving you defense. Grasp isn’t supposed to be a damage rune. It does some, yes, but that’s not the reason for it.
Grasp isn't a damage rune, sure, but the 'defense' it gives you is garbage. Most top lane characters that are meta have built in poke, escapes and CC and if you are against them you are probably barely every proc'ing Grasp. So what's the point? You're always better off going for a damage based Keystone or Aftershock if you have CC.
AD Yuumi (NA)
: PBE is a terrible place for any sort of balance feedback. Population is too small. Games are too uneven. We typically completely ignore PBE winrate data as it almost never lines up with what things look like when they go live. It's great for finding bugs, crashes, and performance issues. Also great for collecting feedback on things like visuals, sounds, and higher level gameplay concepts. I found a ton of use in the feedback gained from PBE when I was working on Rengar for example. You could say that "everything that goes to Beta goes live" but if that were true there would be a lot more crashes and framerate issues after patch day.
I mean, there are tons of bugs that are still in the game. Forbidden Idol/Redemption/Ardent Censer don't work on Sion's W shield but will work on Malphite's passive for some reason. That's just one example, but if I want to build Redemption on Sion (spoiler--I do and I have made it work a lot even without the shield buff working) then I simply don't get the passive. V This opens an album V https://imgur.com/a/mzV0Mmh I have pictures of Malphite's before and after too but the line is really hard to make out, but if you test it in Practice Tool you can see his HP bar and shield bar shift. Just buy {{item:3801}}, wait a few moments, then buy {{item:3107}} and watch the bars shift slightly after the purchase. And just to be sure that this wasn't the case of some kind of visual bug where the game has to re-register a new item put into the inventory I tested it once more. This time, I got a {{item:3067}}, waited a few moments, and then bought {{item:2065}} (both have an HP value of 200) and his HP and shield bars did not budge.
