: The question is: Why do you need the magic pen? It amplifies your damage, but at the same time AP bruiser items are in a really strong spot because they've been buffed a lot in the damage department --- Liandry's is the most comparable item to black Cleaver, it still amplifies your damage the longer you're in combat but also applies an enhanced burn if the enemy is CC'd, the burn applies a certain %max hp in magic damage, which is really good against tanks that want to stack hp and a visage with mercs into you (It'd be interesting to see how they stack up against eachother, though) Roa is gold efficient at 2 stacks and reaches 150% gold efficiency Rylai's has 90 AP right now Shurelya's is still dirt cheap ---- Also the AP bruisers are really varied, I think it's bad to clump them together You also have a wide range of damage+ehp options as an AP bruiser {{item:3027}} {{item:3102}} {{item:3157}} {{item:3001}} {{item:3116}} {{item:2065}} {{item:3152}} {{item:3165}} {{item:3151}}
It’s less about specifically pen, more about ramping up damage over the course of an extended fight (which is the bruiser playstyle). Liandrys does this, but what’s missing is a single item like BC that provides enough survivability to get in peoples face long enough without dying.
: i like the concept, and would definitely helps some battle mages and AP bruisers that want to be close or even in melee range like {{champion:136}} {{champion:131}} {{champion:30}} {{champion:82}} {{champion:68}} {{champion:50}} {{champion:517}} {{champion:8}} however id like to point out not all battle mages are as durable as the mages mentioned before, there are battle mages that are squishier than even {{champion:68}} and {{champion:30}} who wont be able to make as much benefit of it as {{champion:8}} {{champion:50}} and the AP Bruisers {{champion:82}} {{champion:131}} {{champion:517}} such examples of the squishy battle mages are {{champion:90}} {{champion:163}} {{champion:112}} {{champion:34}} im not saying up the range of the aura, gods forbid the burst and artillery mages start to abuse this item, im just saying that its not as supportive to the subclass as some may think when they read this
That’s true, I think with {{champion:34}} though it would add some interesting decision making to her passive in some cases. Like sure, I can run up and kill the egg, but if I don’t she’s coming back with 20% mr shred and is gonna smack me down. Maybe a little more health would help (like an extra ruby crystal in the build). Only problem there would be the item being a bit bloated.

Any info on the shop cleanup/what kind of items you plan on adding once the clutter’s gone? Specifically would like to know if there’s any plan on filling the void in AP bruiser itemization. Would probably make Sylas and Diana easier to balance if they had a real build path (plus my boy {{champion:245}} may be able to come out of the basement if he was tuned to be AP bruiser)

Yet people cry it should be gutted from Ezreal. And are you actual about to argue that abyssal mask is bad because it has mr? The item literally says “almost every source of damage on your champion is boosted by 15%”
abyssal mask is a good item, but it's gated by only having purely defensive stats. What AP bruisers lack is an item like BC that increases their effectiveness as the fight goes on (stacking % pen mechanic). If abyssal built out of haunting guise and kindlegem and had the % magic damage ramp up over the fight, AP bruisers could have a bread and butter item like AD bruisers have in BC

Rod is weak in this fast meta, power spike is too late. Maybe if abyssal mask was a better buy. The mr isn’t very useful, it would be a good equivalent black cleaver item if it had some offensive stats.

With the runic echos work, will you guys finally take a pass at {{champion:245}} jungle? It’s such a fun play style that I feel like has been nerfed into the ground either directly or with changes to the jungle in grnerwal

: Skins VFX - yep, they're on the way. Blade Queen at least should hit PBE today, not certain on exact timing for Program. Coven and Bloodstone should already be there. Nerfs - Assessment off a bunch of playtesting is that the current changelist is likely slightly power positive. Going into this patch Liss is already in pretty well performing spot, so our room to tone down on nerfs and/or swap them for different ones with less impact isn't great. Will be adding the 10 base damage at rank 1 onwards back onto W though, no need to nerf early laning at least, later in the game's where we're more cautious about overall power. Also, if our assessment ends up being wrong and she ends up meaningfully weaker than before my starting point would be to consider putting power back in where it was removed. Since some of it's not easy to spot on PBE, here's the current full changelist: Nerfs * Removal of old mana passive * W - Damage 70-190 +0.3 (was 70-230+0.4) * R - Ratio to 0.6 (was 0.7) Buffs * New passive - Enemy champions who die near Lissandra become Frozen Thralls. Frozen Thralls hunt out living enemies and slow enemies around them by 25%. After 4s they explode, dealing 120-520 (+0.3 AP) magic damage * MP5/level to 0.8 (was 0.4) * Smoother AAs - animation and actual timing better synched, missile speed to 2200 (was 2000), Base attack speed increased to 0.656 from 0.625. AS ratio for AS scaling is still 0.625 * Q - Mana cost 60-72 (was 75) * W - Mana cost 40 (was 50) * E - Missile speed starts at 1200, decelerates to 640, takes 1.25s to get to end point (1050 range). Makes short casts a bit more useable without adding faster long range initiation or escapes. Previous version for reference is 850 speed throughout, takes 1.25s to get to end point (1050 range) Can understand concern around removal of some ratio and a bit of base damage later in the game, in particular from the angle of 'will Lissandra still be able to burst squishy targets?'. Belief off testing so far is yes. If that stops being the case will move power around so she's still got some burst threat though.
Love the new {{champion:127}} passive! What are the numbers on the slow and the movement speed for the frozen thralls? It would be cool if these scaled off of something, could make for some interesting builds.

Hey Meddler, I’m worried that nerfing dark harvest like that would push Ekko jungle back into irrelevancy. It’s such a shame, cus Ekko jungle is such a fun play style, I’d hate to see it go again
