Positive of gold funneling for TT: -Its different I guess? -It makes it easy and effortless to rank up since 50% the games are guaranteed because the enemy wont use it Negative: -No interaction with the enemy laner -Limits the champ pool to supports and a juggernaut/carry -No need of coordination with the team, you just do the same thing every game and wins the one who got vilemaw first. -Literally Jungling doesn't jungle, it just farms jungle and top side -ITS THE SAME TEAMCOMP EVERY GAME ITS THE SAME REPETITIVE THING THE WHOLE GAME -I don't know a single person that thinks it makes TT better Context: -I've played TT since season 3 on and off since I found it to be fun but not enough friends of mine did it. -I started playing it seriously last year and was fun until I encountered this gold funneling strategy, I was duo with a friend, and I got matched with a diamond janna, we didnt know what to expect but the janna said they would just farm and that would be it, by the time laning phase was over urgot (the carry) had 5 lvl over us and was impossible to kill with taric and bard support, we didnt even get a single kill this game -You won't find many people playing TT that will enjoy it or play it seriously because of this strategy has driven us out we actually want to play the game mode again but its not interactive an plain boring if you do it. Only feels good to climb because of people not knowing what to do against, but you don't get to make plays, just stomp.

: Hey, Thanks for the well written post. We're definitely open to adding the gold funneling nerf to TT. Didn't want to do so at the last minute in 8.14 without enough consideration, and at least some TT specific bug testing though. Our standard approach is to have systemic changes like this affect all maps by default. In this case though given gold funneling's been pretty meta defining on TT for a long time we weren't confident in our understanding of whether abruptly changing that would be a good idea or not. To get a better understanding we figured we'd talk to TT players in the regions where TT gets a noticeable amount of play. That means a post this week asking for feedback that gets translated into the appropriate languages, with our regional offices then helping summarize and translate player discussion from it back again. If the result of that discussion is that it looks like we should try the funneling change on TT as well we'll then make sure it's getting at least minimum needed testing for inclusion in an upcoming patch (could well be 8.15, if that's road to go down in the first place).

PLEASE STOP GOLD FUNNELING IN TWISTED TREELINE. GOLD FUNNELING ISN'T FUN WHEN YOU LANE AGAINST NOTHING FOR HALF THE GAME AND END UP LOSING BECAUSE WHEN IT COMES BACK IS 2 TIMES STRONGER THAN YOU WITH THE OTHER 2 BUFFING HIM SO ITS 4 TO 6 TIMES AS STRONGER THAN ANYONE IN REALITY

Why haven't you considered that lvl 2 ganks from now the best and most viable junglers are not a factor?

The reasons for early game snowball: -Taric + Yi (call it support juggernaut from 3v3) -Jungle lvl 2 ganks
Meddler (NA)
: Quick Gameplay Thoughts: May 23
Hello Meddler. Any thoughts on how jungle ganks transitioned from ganking at lvl 2 compared to ganking at lvl 3? - Right now there are 5 most popular champions and every one of them have lvl 2 power spike to gank mid (86% of the picks for jungle) - At the same time the 5 most popular picks for mid (58%) are champs that can farm safely with any form of cc or range or escape. I mean even if you nerf them, considering the nature of the game where the early game is the most important, other champs will arise like Shaco for his lvl 2 gank. I am a jungler secondary main and honestly its just not fun for me anymore. I am playing support ever since.

: Ranked does matter, see post above. Riot even has it posted if you want to go read it there. It is people with your mindset I would suggest to stay in normals. And as for things being "broken", it happens every patch, even during Season play. It just means a shifting meta which you have to learn. People who complain about it being broken are just too lazy to actually study it and figure out what works now and what doesn't work.
You can upvote and downvote my comment all you want, it wont change that people dont care about ranked during pre-season.
: Ranked Still Matters
Its pre season, ranked doesn't matter until the start of the season. If it did then would be awful since everything is broken and OP, thats why people don't care, go play normals.

: As far as we have been able to tell so far, this looks like it could be a bug in the UI rather than something wrong with Autofill itself (although that is possible and we should look into it). We haven't intentionally changed any behavior of Autofill - we've checked a few cases where players reported the symptoms you mentioned and in those cases we saw the players were actually protected even though the UI said they weren't. We'll continue to investigate, but I just wanted to make it completely clear any issues here aren't intentional and we're working on identifying and fixing them!
I had the "autofill protected" and I still got autofilled. Bear in mind that its the first time I got autofilled in 6 months
: Yes, constantly. Rioters check the boards several times a day, have reddit up on a second monitor, watch streams while they eat, survey players both in-client and in-person, and track popular topics from many different countries. In some cases, a Rioter might agree with your sentiment and be actively working to improve something, but not be ready to talk about it yet - in others, they might agree but feel there is another important project that they have to prioritize. In still others, they might listen, and decide they actually disagree with your perspective. Disagreement happens a lot - even people who agree that a problem exists might have very different ideas of how it should be solved, and taking all that into account, not just from a small group on boards or reddit, but on the huge scale of players all over the world, takes time. We hire designers not to look at what players say and then immediately do it, but to take different perspectives into account, dive into the data, and then use their best judgment to determine a course of action. In regards to your examples, I think a good first step would be to figure out what the gameplay team currently thinks about the questions you have. For example: Does the gameplay team think turrets are strong enough at the moment? I’m not a designer - so I don’t know the answer to this question. It could be a good thing to ask on one of Meddler’s “Quick Gameplay Thoughts.” He usually hangs around for awhile after he posts, and I’d be interested to see how he feels about it.
You guys didn't hear us for months when you launched dynamic queue
: Leveling and Rewards - Early Impressions and Adjustments
Don't you feel like this is alike Dynamic Queue and how Riot kept defending it until the whole community imploded with challengers getting matched with bronze 5 and finally bringing back solo Q back after the many many complaints that went for over half a year? In this case its with Blue Essence/IP/The currency thats free. So it will have way more impact and already the community is melting on it... My point is if you guys are going to listen to the community this time instead of pushing something that nobody wants just for the sake of copying other business models or just out of sheer idealism that this is the way to go? Why break something that was working? You can try to tweak as much as u want if its something we don't want we just won't take it.

: How much IP did you have to grind before to get every champion anyway? Plus not everyone wants every champion.
with IP party weekends you could easily farm 40k IP on the 3-5 days. Thery made like 3 or 4 of them, so basically 140k IP just from that, I got all my champs up until the 6300 mark with those. then just buying champ shards and rerolling for 5100 IP, it took me like 3 years to get all champs. With the new system it will take me 5-6 years to get all champs (counting the ones they release in the meantime) So yeah it takes longer to get champs now and its a pain because you don't get to choose which ones you want coz you need the champ shard and blue essence to unlock them (otherwise its around 7 years if u get them repeated, even more if you disenchant them)

Personally (and rather bluntly), I think it's because Reddit is a more popular platform. If we look at the ***Heroes of the Storm*** Reddit, their front page has more posts than the ***General Discussion*** board of the HotS forum. The situation isn't really unique to *League*. As more and more Rioters opt to post on Reddit and similar platforms, people go there to engage with them, and the reasons some Rioters have stated for preferring Reddit don't have anything to do with how this board was (or is) moderated. Plus more and more Riot news is being duplicated other places, or on off-board methods of delivery, and more and more fan sites are coming up to share content, gaming news, etc. This naturally spreads out a user base.
Reddit and The Boards aren't mutually exclusive you know... All that can be done in reddit, can be done in The Boards too. The difference that I can appreciate from a few users I know is that reddit is more welcoming (and that has to do with the moderation) which is my point.

Can you share the instance where someone was banned for calling DTN a pancake? That seems interesting and I would be happy to look into that for you. We do try our best to moderate and sometimes we make mistakes. I do appreciate you giving us feedback on this matter and actually... if you're willing - would you mind compiling a list of things that you think we need to improve on as a whole?
https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/0VmER47s-thecurator-so-today-i-learned-someone-was-banned-for-calling-someone-else-a-pancake In that same thread you can see Elduris (wow he is no longer an arbiter), and Ulanopo. Ulanopo "Defended" or justified the decision of the action taken against that user. Personally I think Ulanopo was really unprofessional because: - Its a really old racist slur against asians? disused and mostly unknown... IN THE MIDWEST (who is going to assume DTN is asian in the first place, and you are really stretching the picture citing old disused midwestern insults that 99% of the playerbase or boards user never heard of) - Do you really think the one who posted it originally was trying to being racist? I know you are volunteers but I will still hold you in the same regards as any moderation team specially if you are being unprofessional while using the boards. My list would first start with being professional about it, take it as a job and not just skim through posts when you are answering (like The Djinn). You are the face of Riot (even if not a rioter or not even paid) in the boards and you should act like it. Your word is taken as truth by most board users and they will defend you to the point of insanity (some of them). So correspond those feelings with professionalism. I have many things I could add but basically professionalism is what is missed on most communities run or organized by volunteers (I've used to play in tournaments servers). Another would be have a clear rulebook. NOWHERE it says that LOLI is a forbidden word and topic. I learned it via support tickets. But I bet some of the current moderation team would ban me for using the word LOLITA even tho is approved by the same support ticket. But its what I mean. My last ban wasn't specified the reason other than "universal rule" which doesn't explain WHICH ONE (I know which one could be but still it was never specified on the post that was given). Which btw before I posted that I was 100% sure the universal rules didn't prohibited since I wasn't advertising any kind of product boosting service or anything: Advertising for product sales, trading, reward programs, or gifting of any kind Advertising of transactional services offered by individuals or companies It was a discussion about buying accounts and I know plenty of it but I wasn't going to post the link of the website. I could still ramble... im tired... I hope it doesn't fall on deaf ears... or at least I get some appreciation for posting this
: > [{quoted}](name=ShinkoMinori,realm=NA,application-id=6heBIhQc,discussion-id=FlO0FqJM,comment-id=,timestamp=2017-11-04T19:15:28.767+0000)...outsourced to volunteers that barely read the posts before commenting [I have a recent example with The Djinn...] Yep. I 100% missed that you were talking about skin shards instead of champion shards. I will point out, however, that I immediately owned up to that mistake, that is was out of context of moderation actions, and that no harm came of that misunderstanding. I do *not* moderate in the same occasionally-rushed fashion that I post as a boards user. :)
There is a lot of harm if you didn't find out because someone answered you that you gave wrong information. You are to some extent a representative of Riot even if not a Rioter itself. If I was new to the boards or a new user I would have taken your word for truth the first time and I would have disenchanted my skin shards already. And of course no one but my own trust in you would have been the cause of doing that. You are not a regular boards user. You have people looking up to you and giving wrong answers (like a lot of arbiters did in the past that I saw) just confuses people and lead to making wrong decisions based on wrong information. I never pass up an opportunity to improve though. Hopefully I can make it so that doesn't happen again. :)

Specially this year since it was outsourced to volunteers that barely read the posts before commenting (I have a recent example with The Djinn and an old one with Elduris). But let comments like "Bye" and crying gifs as answer to other users as if it wasn't harassment > > Shout out to the reddit moderation team btw they are doing a far better job. > > So what do you think is the reason? > > EDIT: This board has a message from 29 days ago in the "new" section btw... which is hilarious You know I get you want to give feedback about moderation, but saying "we suck" really isn't fair. We bust our ass to make sure all of you are taken care of. We have conversations, disagreements, and discussions every day about how to handle a post. Sure we're not perfect, but we can't be and we shouldn't try to be. What you see on the outside isn't how it is on the inside which is understandable, but you shouldn't go so far to say "we suck" and "the biggest fault has been the moderation team." I don't know about you, but I have 70 pages of moderation history from gentle nudges to bans in the few months I've been here. I can promise you we do read threads, posts, and look for context before we do anything. tl;dr Have a little faith and we do not suck by any means.

Can you imagine a televised NBA match where a person on team A starts trolling and passing the ball to a person on the other team, team B? The issue is that's not what 90% of people report as trolling. In League, people call throwing an interception trolling. People call a fumble trolling - they're *just bad plays*. 90+% of what people call trolls aren't trolls. And even if they were all trolls, it doesn't give you the right to subject them nor your teammates to constant verbal abuse.

I can agree with this to some extent, though context does indeed heavily matter which is the whole point of this board post. I just can't see myself or any other person being banned over responding to people who are extremely toxic. 1. Saying I was gonna mute because I couldn't argue with idiots was because of the enemy trying to provoke me alongside Xin. 2. Bye nerd was escaping certain death, there was 0 hostility meant and everyone even Xin knew that. 3. "That's a sad life" - This one I cannot defend and I take that one on me, but that's still one offense to a permanent suspension. > This is also reportable behavior -- intentionally trying to anger your opponents is unsportsmanlike behavior, and the system can often detect it if it's reported. I know that this is reportable behavior, but I think I must have phrased it wrong. I don't expect anyone to believe me or not, but I simply chose not to mute Xin because I'd rather have him keep going at me so he would end up being banned instead of taking this onto further games. It's not like I had a plan in my head to _get_ him banned. I just expected him to. I do take responsibility for my actions, I truly do which is also why I haven't had any complaints towards my other accounts. But I must say this one I cannot see any form of excessive bad behavior.
I guess too many permabans have blinded you to what being a civil human being is. Isn't that like a waste of money tho? buying or lvling that many accounts then buying skins just to end up being permabanned
