Nah the idea man is if someone blames you for a mistake they make, you don't have enough time to review the play and go over it and show them why they are wrong, not to mention they wont listen to you anyways. Also, by being more agreeable you make people happy and if your team is happy and you prevent someone from getting angry you have a better chance of winning.

So from my understanding riot thought it was unfair to take rewards away for a chat punishment. So to make up for this one time thing, they made it so if you hit honor 2 b4 feb 11, you get the season 8 rewards? Just curious because I went through the same thing, but I hit honor 2 checkpoint 1 in the pre-season.

: Tank durability really needs to be addressed.
Riot isn't looking into the real issue, which is items, and a few champions(irelia for example) Items are stacked with stats, making each purchase a huge spike, it doesn't help every item also has 10% slapped on it for shits and giggles. Almost everyone has 40% cdr and a shit load of armor or magic pen, this makes building armor or magic resist redundant, as you'll still disappear fast as a tank. A lot of items themselves, are to cheap, and over the years have gone down in price, talking about lethality items here. The old The Brutalizer item costed 1300 gold, and gave the same stats as dirk. But dirk cost over 200g less, gives a 30sec passive giving 40dmg more in auto attack poke for trades. In the end, to much stats on each item, to much pen in champion kits/items, tanks do to much damage instead of being more tanky. There's also so much damage that cant be blocked(torment, conq, true dmg from IE, flat armor/magic pen so early in game)

Unfortunate year. I only got 1 skin for a champion I actually play. Pretty upsetting that the other 5 are champions I havent played in over a year.

: Why do I keep losing?
I recommend easier picks, malp and sion are pretty straight forward, but it seems like you'd benefit from playing a lot of garen, I say this because if you're silver, it's just basic mechanics are holding you back. You're average CS per minute is 4, and that's not really great. You're goal is 6 minimum, 7-8 is best, but sometimes not realistic. By losing a lot of CS, you're either just missing a lot, or trying to harass to much. Missing cs is huge, because by the looks of it, your opponent automatically has a advantage because they have more CS, meaning they will trade better, and have more items. So to better understand the game, I recommend {{champion:86}} {{champion:127}} {{champion:8}} Garen is the simplest you can get. Liss and vlad are both great because they're safe laners, and they have big influence later in the game(vlad ulti and liss lockdown CC ult) I'm a veigar 1 trick, and I've gotten much, MUCH better at the game. I'm going to hit diamond next season, compared to being hardstruck plat, and its because since I only played 1 champion, I didn't need to focus on my champions mechanics, and was able to focus more on the game itself, plays, shotcalling, etc. 78 games, and a 68% winrate. In the end if you're anything below plat, it's just because you're not mechanically strong as you might believe yourself to be, I tried a smurf this season, started silver 3, climbed to plat 5 in 2 weeks with a 90% wr. If you want more tips or help, feel free to PM me, I'm NA CST, so I'll be asleep after this post, but I'm always down to help. I even do coaching for free if you send a VoD, I'll review it, point out issues I see, and you go from there. Goodluck summoner.
: After taking the survey by Riot, I'd like to take the discussion here with my unedited thoughts.
I don't hate riot, they've made of one of my favorite games, I've played since 2008 and played on and off for years. I want them to communicate their ideas more clearly, and more explained and more down into detail, instead of a small paragraph of why they're doing something. Issue is the LoL community is pretty negative, and I can understand that trying to do this will never bring satisfaction. The -5 movespeed irelia nerf pissed off a lot of people, they could explain that in pre-season rune changes, or something might hit her hard, so just be "patient" and see. I just want more communication, but realizing what our community is, I doubt it will ever happen.
: So while chilling at Gold II, I decided to make a hard push for plat and just spam ranked.
Nothing special about plat honestly. It's basically a glorified gold division. Rarely do you encounter a actual very good plat player.

Even so, maybe it's just me, but I'm excited. I'm a veigar main, but if this means that midlane might be more aggressive compared to the staring contest and farming it is now, I welcome it.

: if you're hardstuck silver for thousands of games, don't give up, here's how i got out
Also, big tip(plat player here) Just play what your good at, and stick with it. I'm a VERY good veigar player, ok with talon, and I can play lux alright. But I practically 1 trick veigar at this point, I have 60 games with him, with a 67% wr. I plan to get diamond, and I will, it's just a matter of not tilting by the end of season trolls. The trick is playing a simple champion(veigar is very easy, but "hard" in high elos) because when you don't have to worry about a mindfuck of mechanics like lee sin, azir, etc. You can focus on super important things like game knowledge and such. Not only will you climb, but you will learn a LOT more about the game, I have learned a ton in one tricking veigar, and I can practically hard carry if my team listens. One tricking is tricky, its hard if your champion is common, but something like annie, veigar, brand, lux, syndra, are all very strong mid lanes, and pretty easy to grasp. Trust me folks, play 1-2 champions, become good with them with practice, you'll learn the flaws of the champ and learn how to play around them or avoid them. You will climb, it's just the matter of learning that one champion you enjoy/are willing to play a 100 games to become very good with. If I didn't tilt and start playing other champions, I would be diamond already. Realizing this I jumped back on the veigar train, and am climbing again.(plat 3 currently.) I believe in ya edit: If anyone wants help, or advice. I'll be on when i wake up, Im happy to help anyone willing to improve(im a mid main, but can give advice on support, and top too.)

: The idea is that with your strong early game you get enough of a lead to give your Dark Harvest enough stacks to transfer into late game, basically a Nasus rune. The thing I'm wondering is if it's worth it compared to Electrocute since, if you get enough of a lead to compare to electrocute's damage you should be ending the game by then.

The thing I'm wondering is if it's worth it compared to Electrocute since, if you get enough of a lead to compare to electrocute's damage you should be ending the game by then. The games are shorter than normal, so I'd say go with electrocute. Dark harvest on paper is better at a certain point, but the issue is you have to reach that point, without being behind, or falling behind. Dark harvest is just to risky and not enough reward with lee imo.
Asterfix (NA)
: Lee Sin runes.
Lee doesn't benefit from predator, he already has ward jump and his q for movement, on top of e for slow, it's really only good on kayn and hecarim. Dark harvest is a lategame rune, and lee see is probably his worst in the lategame, compared to someone like kindred. Electrocute is really the best option, lee sin is supposed to pressure really hard and early, and the rune gives him that with really good early burst, so when lee falls off, hopefully he got some lanes fed to pay for it. I'm just assuming he's hyping it, because if you end up not doing anything early game as lee sin with dark harvest, you'll make the game a 4v5 for how useless you'll be.
: "Removing the unstoppable on ornn is one of the WORST things you can do" - Scarra
I'll probably be down voted into oblivion, but am I the only one not understanding the big deal? Everyone's using the argument "His w lets you tell from the bad and good" but you're quite literally just pressing his W when you're about to get stunned or in a sticky situation, some people are acting like that this play alone is equivalent to a lee sin getting a 5 man ult. I don't want to bash, but could someone explain it more to me?
Rioter Comments
: Is it even possible to climb out of silver?
I'm gonna be blunt here, but it's for the better. If you're not climbing, it's your fault. Pre-season I got placed gold 4, I climbed to plat 1 within 2 weeks, so here's a bit of advice to start climbing. 1. Work on improving yourself, go into every game expecting your team to be heavier than umpa lumpa, that way you don't go in with high expectations and come back disappointed, don't start flaming your team, because it's not worth it, accept the loss, take a short break, and get back into it. 2. Play 3-5 champions and master them, it's best to keep the champions you play very little, it doesn't matter who, but as long as you have very good knowledge with them, and you understand how to use them in certain situations, I'm a mid main, and mine are {{champion:91}} {{champion:45}} {{champion:38}}. 3. If your good, and you're doing good, take role. What I mean is if you're doing well(and you're the jungler, who has the biggest influence over the game, if you truly are good, climbing shouldn't be tough) start to kindly explain to your team what everyone should be doing, bot dying a lot? Play safe until you can gank, put a pink down so you can gank(although ganking a lane that's so fed, is generally a bad idea as there's a good chance you'll all die) someone getting caught? Tell everyone to buy a pink and ask the support to put wards down at a certain area? Can't win teamfights? Tell that fiora to go split or something. It's important to give your team direction, this is the biggest thing when it came to climbing for me, I've had some of the worst teams possible, but I did well in my games, my team listened, and we're able to win sometimes, sometimes not. You're gonna win and lose no matter what you do, some games just aren't winnable, just remember not to get tilted. You can add me on LoL if you wanna go back and forth, and I can watch your games to help you improve.

: Ranked placements Season 8 unpopular opinion
I was VERY surprised, I looked up my teamates for a good chunk of the games, a lot were unranked(but they were gold/silver last season) so yea.. I didnt play in s7, i played preeason for 8, got to plat 1, and placed plat 2 for s8. So it's not just me? Heck I even got a player who was bronze(though he wasn't bad at supporting). I remember in previous seasons I'd get placed in mid tier gold when I got to high plat a season before, now only 1 tier down? Works for me.

He needs some extra help Sooooo, any other assassins job basically? The role of an assassin is to make the teamfight a 4v5 by killing a carry, or catching someone out and killing them.
: I think zed need buff
Zeds sole purpose is to jump in, and kill the biggest threat, with adcs being a huge issue, he can blow up an adc if he plays it right. Zed kept his insane damage/skill compared to most assassin's, few of the older ones can jump in and blow people up like he can. He's also not good if your bad, he's very hard to play right later in the game.

: Master Yi needs a change or a nerf
I'm not sure what rank you are, but I sure haven't seen a Yi since I was low gold and silver. I haven't seen a Yi since season 4 in ranked. If you want to counter him play Shyvana. Edit: He's also completely useless if he doesn't get fed, and if a yi gets fed off ganks, you're doing something really wrong.

I actually hate playing against it, everyone usually has it, and it basically rewards poor play by a player with a early "oh shit" button.

Its based on your previous MMR, I was plat1 preseason, got plat2 in s8, and most pros got placed in plat 1-2. Its you, not the system
tieger05 (OCE)
: Should I still build Void staff if enemy has no MR?
Depends, there's better items to go for, but keep in mind when your Magic Pen goes through all their MR, your spells start to do true damage to them, so people like ADCS will be blown up insanely fast.
: Placements are Stupid
Your MMR must have been very low then, if you are a true plat player, it shouldn't take you to long to climb there again.(I got placed in gold4 in pre-season, got to plat 1 within 2 weeks) Idk, I didn't play since s6, and even then I was low plat, pre-season I hit plat1, and I got placed in plat2 this season, kinda surprised.
: Why does Akali's Q mark you for SO LONG?
Akali Q has the same issue we had with Tf, being that you're able to hold his cards and let them keep flipping, being that threat you could lock in a stun and trade hard in mid, same goes for akali, that threat is always there, and there's really no counterplay to it as a melee.

So is there any item to really rush to against yasuo that would help a lot early game? Seekers armguard an option? There's no real item to rush against most matchups, sure you can go armguards and hourglass rush, but you lose out on early CDR and in the end, that hourglass wont make a difference if he gets close to you and such. Basically your "item" is just your playstyle, make sure you keep distance, hold onto e till he jumps you, and you're fine.
: Veigar Main- How to deal with yasuo?
Veigar main here. First I want to point out, when you get much higher in elo or w.e, you'll start to realize most your stacks will come from hitting people with spells in teamfights, SO, that being said, here we go. 1. Max W, this is my go to, if you against a champion you cant beat(yas, xerath, vlad, etc.) you max W, and when you have 3 points in your W you can 1 shot the mage minions(depending on your stacks, and just sheer amount of AP, usually 2 dorans and a 900g book from morello) and in general, you just farm. A lot of people want o max Q stacks, but sadly with how expensive mage items are, and how weird mages are in general(except xerath) its rare you'll be able to farm your Q without hassle. It's more important to get every cs in that minion wave then it is to maybe get 50 more ap in the first 20minutes. 1.1. You play against him and stay very back, you don't get close to your minions because he can go in and dash around, chunking you pretty hard, this is where the W and walk away comes into play, but in general, play super passive, if the yas isn't braindead, there's no reason you should be able to kill him. 2. If you're really into stacking, if you play the lane right you wont need to rush a hourglass to beat him, against, just stay away from him, and don't go in for a CS if you know you'll take a lot of damage just for that one minion. My general build is . . .{{item:3158}} {{item:3165}} {{item:3285}} {{item:3135}} {{item:3151}} {{item:3089}}. I like ion boots a lot because it helps veigars weakness by making your summoner cd short, and even spellbook in the inspiration tree is great, for another 25% less cooldown on your summoners. And with Ion boots, combine that with the 10% cdr you can get from sorc tree, when you complete the boots and morello, you're at 40% cdr, and can start farming away with Q. 1. You NEVER ult him unless his windwall is on CD, it's also a good idea to take exhaust, because if he does jump you, you just exhaust and go "lul" and walk away, since it reduces his damage to basically nothing. Try getting rid of his shield with an auto attack, but never do it if you're at risk of him getting on you, yas is also a lane where you just dont win, so the ideal way to play the matchup is farm farm farm, it's a bit boring, but he's mobile and you're not. Also make sure to never E him unless your jungler is ganking, it's the same deal with zed, you hold onto your E until he jumps you, if you toss out your E in hopes to get some damage off, you're giving him a huge window to do some real big damage to you. If you want, feel free to add me in LoL, I'm a plat1 player, and I've played veigar since the DFG and instand stun days, if you need anymore advice just hit me up on the game, I don't really look at the boards much anymore.
: Kindred season 8 strategy, Press the Attack or Electrocute/Dark Harvest?
Dark Harvest is only good if you know what you're doing, and your very consistent at getting kills and counter jungling(you get a lot of stacks from kills/assists) Electrocute is good if you want to have real strong early pressure(or press the attack) and give your laners a majority of the kills.

This is why most pro games involve semi-easy heroes, usually with the exception of Azir. Problem is, almost every hard champion and very high reward(azir) was nerfed into oblivion, and when their mediocre, even when played well, people just stop playing them.

I think they look ok, but my biggest annoyance is at the bottom of the hp bar(if you have color blind on) it looks like there's an odd yellow bar at the bottom placed horizontal, it doesn't seem like the exact color of the actual health, and it just seems super off.

: Why are you still playing?
Just got back to the game about two weeks ago, and I don't want to quit because of development(although I don't agree with the games being much much shorter than when I last played) but more so because I get tilted somewhat easily, which leads to frustration. It sucks, because I really do want to keep playing, but if a lane is doing bad, or players are yelling at each other, I get tilted and I start to play more wonky. This is always something that's held me back in the game, I got to plat 1 in my series at highest, but I stopped because of this very reason. I just wish there was something I could do to improve on this, but it doesn't seem I've been able to find it, which is unfortunate because I've played since the game practically was released.
Rioter Comments
: Riot, you cannot ignore this preseason. Bruisers are a joke.
I think also a huge problem is games are SUPER short, the average game is around 26minutes long, that says something. There's practically no catch up mechanics unless the enemy team is braindead also. I just got back to the game 2 weeks ago, and I cant play my love veigar, as by the time I get my items the games over. I'm just tired of it.
