: How about separating the champs from the items and putting them on opposite sides? With everyone in the middle and letting them out one at a time. That could maybe give you more options for people and minimize the RNG factor? Providing some choice with a small amount of RNG could make for more strategy involved mechanics.
perhaps even a chance to get an item AND a champ but still separate?

: As I said, in a 1v1 there is a 50/50 chance that you are closer to the champ you need Them taking it just to keep it from you is his strategy If you got to 1v1s you don't need to comeback feature since you are already guaranteed second.
You also don't need a random mechanic that could put you behind someone simply because of when the game lets you out. What if I was ahead because I did well in my strategy yet he gets lucky and then I lose and there's nothing to do about it? The mechanic doesn't even work that well when it comes to catching up early game in my experience.
: But then there would be no way for people loosing to get back into the game Winners get 1 extra gold than loosers each round so there is a smaller chance of the loosers getting back into the game that way Giving them an item/champion choice is the way to give them a chance. Otherwise the game may be decided by krugs >character you need ends up right next to the other player as you both get released even though they're slightly ahead? 50/50 chance to have the character you need on your side Well... 25 if we arent counting the even-ish distances
It didn't feel like a catch up mechanic when the other person was let out at the same time and right in front of what i needed (and he only took it to keep it from me) even though he had more than double my HP.

: I think the randomness is what allows some variety in what could otherwise be a highly uniform, optimized experience.
Honestly I think a better option would be the reverse. Having everyone start in the middle in a single circle and having the other champs/items circle them... then release everyone at once.
