: No, if you don't click, you're fine.
Not true, careful when you spread false information. Ads can serve javascript, and that javascript can expose users to viruses.

Yes they can, depending on how the advertisement is served. Worst case scenario is the ad is allowed to serve up javascript. This javascript exploits flaws in the browser and can cause a remote code execution on your computer, with your computer downloading software that you didnt expect. While not an ad, one of the nastiest javascript exploits recently was done through compromised WordPress websites, which caused ransomware to be downloaded to unsuspecting computers via a 0-day exploit (unpatched and unknown browser hole). The same thing has happened through ads, with software being downloaded to computers. Often times it targets certain sections of users (such as enterprise users). The joys of targetted ads. So yes, scary thought. Adblock is a safety tool, and it doesn't require you to click the ad.

Adblock isn't just about the annoyance of advertisements on websites. The biggest problem with ads is the phishers/scammers/ransomware developers that push seemingly legitimate ads with very dangerous content. Until businesses become responsible in their ad choices and deployments, it's just not safe to run without adblock unless you explicitly trust a website (e.g. reddit runs their own vetted ads, so I leave them as unblocked).
: The reason why this will never be multiplayer is because of cheating. If I know how to send a packet that says give me a level to the server, well guess what level I would be at 10 sec into my ranked game? The same goes for every other mod that this mode allow us to use. Also it might create ways to reverse engineer the encryption of the data. Might is the key word here.
There is an easy way to prevent that (which I'm nearly 100% sure is already in place, otherwise there would be a lot more cheating): don't allow the server to accept XP/gold/"practice mode commands" outside of the "practice mode" game mode. The server is already the one calculating game state, XP, gold, health, death timers, etc and communicating that to the client. The server accepts from the user "move to x,y; perform Q; flash to x,y" and calculates the outcome. The client predicts the expected outcome and displays it to the user. If the two mismatch (because of lag or w/e), the client updates itself to the current state the server sends. The only risk is if they don't segregate the game modes and somehow practice functionality hits the real servers, which would be highly unlikely.

: They are changing ip and rp icons, both are on pbe ( the new rp icon is already used in the store)
Changing them to what? The new grey icon?

: You cant change volume of draft pick ban/pick quotes.
Similarly a slider for the login sound would be good too.

The Store team is working hard on giving us more and better ways to buy LoL content though. On that note, I feel like there should be a way to buy champions in champ select. Smite offers a great way of doing it of having all of your unlocked champions sorted alphabetically at the top, and all the locked ones at the bottom. I can understand if it's not available for ranked for obvious purposes, but it'd be useful if you have the urge to try a champion but you don't own them yet.
Such a feature would only be able to be available in blind pick (maybe ARAM though how would that work), making it a pretty low use feature. Not sure it would work.

: Can we please switch back to the old Chat System?
Remember back in the original client when you could popout chat windows? And then they removed that feature for some reason? Can we get that back again :) Also, that screenshot of chat looks much cleaner than the chat window I have in my Alpha client.
: Getting the same error as you and everyone else is describing in this post. I sent out the error report.
For others having this problem, this post fixed it for me: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/alpha-client-discussion/GoAJJ7Qv-failed-to-create-dump-file-error-5-and-bugsplat-fix Looks like Sound Drivers are what are conflicting.
: Failed to create dump file: '' (error 5) and bugsplat FIX
Oh this appears to have solved the issue for me. Thank you very much.
: Getting the same error as you and everyone else is describing in this post. I sent out the error report.
I uninstalled the Alpha Client and tried reinstalling. Still didn't fix the issue. It's frustrating because sometimes it will download <10MB. Othertimes it will download over 800MB before it crashes. I've sent multiple error reports now.
: try redownload that work for me
I tried redownloading and re-installing. Issue isn't fixed.

: Bugsplat Every Time I Try To Open The Client
I get the same thing as Lepercon5000. It says "Failed to create dump file: '' (error 5)" I took a look at the log files, and one log file has this in it: > [1013/183307:ERROR:browser_gpu_channel_host_factory.cc(133)] Failed to launch GPU process. That's interesting. It does look like an nvidia driver update is available. Will try that. Edit: I was on driver 372.70; tried upgrading to 373.06. Didn't help. Worth a shot :) Edit 2: Huh, something interesting in Log Files. One produced: > LeagueClient caused PRIV_INSTRUCTION in module LeagueClient Another log file from an earlier crash, produced: > LeagueClient caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module LeagueClient > > Read from location 00000034 caused an access violation. I have tried running as administrator and it doesn't seem to help. Edit 3: Drivers was a good direction to look, but looks like it's audio drivers causing the issue. This post solved my issue: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/alpha-client-discussion/GoAJJ7Qv-failed-to-create-dump-file-error-5-and-bugsplat-fix
: Of course they do. If a policy can affect us, we have every right to be made aware of it.
The policy is don't break the summoners code. He obviously did that, and gets permabanned.
: It appears to only be Kennen.
I just played a game where this happened. Was super annoying.
: Whether they realize it or not, they need to give an explanation.
The only person they owe an explanation to is TheRainMan. They don't need to give an explanation to us.
: Sure. I'll grant that he deserved to be banned on that account. I don't know about banning him on every account he logs into.
If he is currently streaming and trolling players in game for views, I don't blame Riot for banning each account he logs into as he does it. Riot doesn't want to encourage streamers that they can troll, get away with it, and get views (+profit) for the honor of doing so. Dunky faced it over a year ago with his YouTube channel. Tyler1 gets it with his Twitch account. Why should TheRainMan get special privilege for acting like a douche?
: That's what I'm asking about. What's going on? What's the justification for this?
They'll post soon enough if they feel like they need to give an explanation. We don't know how many times TRM was warned behind the scenes or what precipitated his account being banned. But based on that YouTube video, he certainly deserves it.
Nazzadan (NA)
: As a TRM fan, I can admit he 100% deserved to be punished for the shit I've seen him do over the years. The thing that really irks me is that it took a reddit post for it to happen. I thought League had great in game detection? If they couldn't catch him with in game systems, the systems frankly fucking suck. He has intentionally fed countless times, been toxic beyond belief, I'm inclined to believe he has purchased an account or two, yet within 25 minutes of a youtube video being posted on Reddit he gets banned. Riot honestly really sucks.
It took a Reddit post to bring it forward to their attention. Had a Rioter stumbled upon it, I imagine the same would have happened. But Riot monitors reddit and a frontpage video with a troll streamer, especially after Tyler1, is going to net a very swift and sound judgement. The mighty ban hammer will fall. I imagine Reddit wasn't the reason for the ban. My guess is Reddit facilitated TRM being spotted sooner. Can't blame Riot for being trigger happy on troll streamers.
: I'll take your word for it that he was getting a bunch of accounts permabanned on stream (I'm not going to watch through vods for it!). Does he have a history of intentional feeding like the video in question showed?
Yes he does. He was also playing Diablo 3 as he was running up lane and intentionally feeding. He was acting very toxic. He deserved the ban to be honest. After Tyler1 it doesn't surprise me that Riot would be very trigger happy on troll streamers and banning them.
