: The reach round 20 X number of times are awful, grindy, and boring. Please do not include missions like this.
Most of those are just designed around "place in top 6" or something since you have to just not fail to get them. I do think there are too many and the fact not finishing them blocks other missions is the problem, less that individual mission itself.

Its kind of frustrating that they are so unwilling to ever call a Voice Actor back for anything. They basically only do it for Legendary/Ultimate skins, which is why Lux got her VO; just a good opportunity since she was already there for Elementalist. (I've heard that they did the same for MF, but didn't go through due to poor reception). They randomly had Jinx and Ziggs' VAs back for Odyssey which was a nice surprise (Kayn's VA was already back for the Legendary skin, but that was nice, too). > > I'm just thinking about things like the way Blizzard will quite frequently add lines to Overwatch Heroes whenever a new event rolls around or they get new skins. I don't expect Riot to do things with THAT high of a frequency, but SOMETHING more would be nice. It has nothing to do with "not liking" this idea. We LOVE the idea of updating old champs. Usually, we book talent for 4 hour chunks of studio time (guild minimums). While this sounds like a lot of time with an actor in the booth, it actually goes by suuuper fast, with the first hour or so being time for the director (we have a rotating roster of wonderful VO directors), actor, and writer to hone in on the character and find the voice. Then it's three hours (with breaks) to get the right takes on lines. We end with efforts (non verbals) which typically blow out the actor's voice. WE can usually record a full 150 line script in 4 hours. So to bring an actor back for a skin, doesn't really afford us much time with said actor to record an additional set of lines for base champ VO. We're looking into ways to make this happen, but then we typically run into bandwidth issues internally for folks to select, process, edit, hook up, and test the new lines IN ADDITION to the skin VO. It's one of my personal passions to redo as many old champ VOs as possible, and we're making some head way. But I would hate to promise you fine folks something that may take a long time to deliver bc we're all stretched very thin. Writers have to write a lot of new content for league. VO designers have to iterate and implement new content. Anything old we're updating is additional work we're doing on top of our normal workload. Again, it's one of my personal missions to bring as many old champs up to modern quality bar as possible. It's also super hard to do when some of our talent no longer works in the industry meaning we have to recast. Recasting tends to upset mains and we wind up seeing diminishing returns on the effort. TLDR: It's complicated, but it's a dream we do share with you :)

I'd look to bringing back VO that isn't just older champions, but those who interact with a lot of others. Like Tahm Kench used to have a taunt for almost every character because he is a demon trying to get under people's skin. Things like that would be neat with more interactions.
: Teamfight Tactics-- /Dev Update: Your Feedback and the Road Ahead
To me the damage feels very high, especially early in the game. The formula of damage with the + 2 base just seems off. Results in some super fast games where someone who gets a lot of lucky 3* units early on can crush. Plus, it feels horrible if you lose and the enemy has units all with only a few life left and you still take full damage. I know other AC games do that, but it feels even worse here considering how much damage you take. Definitely would suggest looking into that by reducing early damage and/or even late a bit.

: We're talking about possible tweaks to TFT item distribution. We do believe though that significant randomness, including variation in early power, is pretty valuable for the longeivity of the game. Examples of that in other genres are things like starting hand in Magic/Hearthstone, what you draw in poker, early loot in a Battle Royale etc. Playing from positions of strength or weakness result in a wider variety of experiences. Having said that there are some things that feel off to us at present that we're highly likely to change, likely (but not guaranteed) in 9.14. Those are: * Players should never finish the first 3 rounds without at least one item component dropping * Players should never have 6 item components from PVE after the first 3 rounds * Players should never get zero items from a later PVE round (Krugs onwards) if they kill everything

Why have it be 1-5 instead of something like 2-4? That would make it still be random, but reduce some insane swings people have, especially since the items themselves are random in what drops too (some are more useful early or later).

: In reference to Ixtal it's not from any form of Chinese, but Native Meso-American languages. As for the Xin Zhao and pronunciations in a fantasy setting you need to keep in mind the audience. All fiction needs to be written in a way we understand; which is to say, in an Earthen language. Names are a huge part of language. If fantasy names had no basis in an Earthen language they would all sound like gibberish. The reasoning for using certain languages for certain names is to imply a cultural heritage. Ionia is clearly based on Eastern Asian cultures, so we have names like Akali and Xin Zhao. Noxus and Demacia are based off of Western European cultures so we get Annie and Lux. Hope that helps :)

Even if it is based on Eastern Asian culture Pinyin came around very differently and was possibly from Cyrillic inspirations -- thus there is no counterpart in Runeterra that I've heard of ... thus it doesn't make sense to do it the way they are doing it.
: That should be blindingly obvious if you stop and think about it. Ionia is influenced by south/east Asian culture, and using existing languages or phonetics makes it more understandable, as well as conveying a theme. Nearly all fantasy does this, unless it is completely alien in setting.

Nearly all fantasy does this, unless it is completely alien in setting. Except if you actually study Pinyin and how they came up with those letters to mean the sounds they do convey you'd realize that it was fairly randomly chosen. Or possibly influenced from Cyrillic script. Since neither of those influences are in a fantasy world it doesn't make sense to spell things out non-phonetically to some degree.

: 9.12: Lore Update
How did they come up with using "q" and "x" to have sounds not similar to the rest of their usage? I know it is from Pinyin Chinese, but in a fictional world that doesn't exist which makes it super weird. Like Xin Zhao being pronounced as "Shin Jao" doesn't really make much logical sense in a fantasy setting without some rational. Is there any rational for that?

: The first time I heard they were bringing back the 'o9 winter Olympic skins, I was frustrated. Something I was there to support them in way back. And the only compensation was a light white boarder, and the icon. Which is fine I guess. But time after time of "limited content", made me realize they just mean it annually. Nothing is limited, will always come back. Specially when they brought Urf warwick back. Sure it's expensive and we got a special boarder and name. But still not the same. Things like "not seeing older skins in game, so we bringing them back" didn't cut it with me, money is all I see in eyes. Nothing hold up long time players but slight differences. I stopped buying into their so called limited content things. Though I still collect all the event Icons I can.

I've pretty much stopped. I only get 1 border per Champion and that's it. Figure everything else could come back in the future so I'd rather not go for more than 1. And I complained about what they were doing to a lot of Rioters. At least they did something somewhat special with Championship Riven and Urf The Manatee / Urfwick, but they were supposed to do something else for those who had a lot of the LE skins. Hippalus talked about it and Tryndamere did too. And then nothing. They don't really care about the old players, they only care about the whales who give them tons of cash and trying to get new players who will get them money and sustain the game. Really different from how Riot was founded when the thing that mattered most was the players and those who were dedicated. Heck, even the Adjudicators (which I am) were supposed to get something too... we never did. Just wish they had someone who could escalate these issues and address them. Instead they try to sweep it under the rug. But it doesn't surprise me considering how much shady shit goes on there. Thankfully the workers are finally standing up and doing stuff. Maybe that will improve working conditions and thus eventually improve how they treat the player base. I just miss the Riot Games I followed 10 years ago and fell in love with. Oh well...

: You're absolutely correct. I have a good job and always loved League. I spend money on skins and have collected an army of them. A few months ago they changed my mind and I will never spend another dollar supporting this company. Their client messed up and double gifted a friend 2 good mystery skins for his birthday, when I wanted to gift just one. That's an extra 790RP. I contacted support and they said the only way I could get a refund is if my friend: - hadn't used the skins yet - created his own support ticket with my ticket number in the subject giving riot permission to remove the skins from his account. First of all, he already used both skins right away. Second, fuck that I'm not asking my friend go through all that just to refund my birthday present. I asked them to look at my account and see I had spent $200+ on the game in the last month, had never been punished for any kind of bad behavior, always achieved lvl 5 honor, and have been playing since season 3. They told me that because they robbed me of so much of their expensive imaginary money (that only works in THEIR digital store) that they couldn't refund me any amount or help me out at all. : I've also had two separate issues where I was trying to get an event award with the points you accrue (icons, or something similar), but after I spend the currency on them, I didn't receive it. One of the two items in question I figured I must have mistakenly exited out, and tried to get it again. It took my points again, and didn't give it to me. The first item this happened with, I contacted PS, and absolutely nothing happened. The second item, I didn't even bother wasting my time navigating to the page. I agree now, after the Tencent deal, this company has changed drastically. They don't care about anything at all except their bottom line now. A good example is the absolute onslaught of Prestige events they did back to back to back. Where they try to manipulate people into paying $20 to get more points, to get an "exclusive" Gold Prestige skin. Then as soon as that event ends, they have another one. And another one. Not all that "exclusive" when they pump them out like that, but tons of people are still manipulated into paying for the pack. Disgusting marketing tactics.

: Tl;dr - I logged in to upvote the OP, and here's the unrelated ravings that got me to that agreement: Kinda disgusting that we're left with no other options than to play the Hashinshin card in discussions and forums like this one to get Riot to notice anything. Is that what you want, Riot? It's not exactly difficult to gather up a decent amount of torches and pitchforks, we're just kinda waiting for you to decide if that's the road we're taking... Esports are important, but don't even make up 0.1% of the player experience, so why are balance decisions being made based on that? Especially when Riot is being so shallow and see-through about it. There's got to be a better way to do this, like making changes that **_only_** affect professional play, like how ARAM changes are made. The way Riot has been doing it up until now is like giving everyone only half an ice pop because that's as much as little Jimmothy can handle, disregarding the rest of us. I understand that it's only a business if the operation can be scaled up, but if **_this_**, and by "this" I mean Prestige Edition drivel- among a few other unmentionables, is what we are to expect then maybe it would have been better if Riot stayed small... Why not put effort into bringing all champions to the same level of mechanical and visual prowess so that each champs skins are more or less just as valuable in the eyes of the company? This makes decision making about how to promote growth and sales an easier one than just "MOAR LUX SKINS" or "SPOON FEED EM PRESTIGE GARBAGE." Unfortunately, we as the players are left frustrated and with few viable methods of venting that frustration in a constructive way, or even one that will be seen at all. If we, as the players, need to start doing true damage to Riot's bottom-line in order to be heard and recognized, something Riot can't even accomplish for their own employees- let alone the players that literally pay the bills, then I'm not sure the game, or company, are even _**worth**_ supporting. I've been at least pseudo-playing League since slightly before Lulu was released, and if I recall correctly, the newest champ at that time was Ahri. I've always been excited to see the new growth and development from the company and how one of my favorite games can grow and evolve into an experience that, for a while, I only liked more and more. But ever since Tencent decided to stick it's swinging dick where it doesn't belong, it's only grown in ways that cause me discomfort, _like cancer._

I'm user 2352 and started right after Rammus / Anivia were released and before Veigar. Been around forever and have been playing about 1 game a day since then. I've seen it change over the years as I've been studying the rise of AoS / MOBA games since WC3: TFT came out. Been interviewing people from Riot and other companies for nearly a decade. It is really sad to see that they don't address so many fundamental issues and just keep going forward like nothing is wrong. =/

The preposition of 'to' is implied in this case, but nice try.
: Patch 9.9 notes
What do you do / whom do you contact when Riot Support messes up MULTIPLE times and can't fix / escalate it to someone who can fix it? --- tl;dr: Why does Riot not have methods to escalate issues from Player Support to people who can actually fix things? (Note: Sorry this is a long post, just want to show evidence backing up everything I'm saying as these issues have been going on for 5+ years now and are only getting worse) --- The problems with Player Support (PS) not being able to do anything or find someone who can help are a constantly reoccurring theme I see pop up all over the place. The story seems to go something like this: player tries to get help by contacting PS, next PS says they can't do anything, then player tries to get PS to escalate issue to someone who can do something, and finally PS says they can't escalate it or pass it on to anyone who can help. PS does nothing, player gets no help, everyone is left frustrated and sad. See: "Agents told you eons ago wouldn't truly be wrong at the moment," where 'eons ago' is apparently less than 1 year ago (https://i.imgur.com/zEAwfCt.png / https://i.imgur.com/PALcRcq.png). Seriously, I see this continually. Like the recent Morgana chroma debacle where a PS person said, "get used to it / hope u like it," when Morgana's chromas were mixed up (https://i.imgur.com/senpEvY.jpg). Or when you try to get clarification over something confusing, like what content is Limited Edition or Legacy or whatever (https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/8mphk9/why_is_jaximus_a_limited_availability_skin_when/), and get berated by PS saying, "dude cmon i didnt sign up for this," over minor things (https://i.imgur.com/7Jc8UGk.png). Likewise, even when PS says they will refer the problem to someone, it is often unlikely you'll ever see it fixed. For example, I've been waiting on the Limited Edition (LE) borders for "Happy Elf Teemo" and "Union Jack Fiddlesticks" being added for over 2 years now (https://i.imgur.com/xYEG8LP.png / https://i.imgur.com/nU1FRgF.png). Then we have major debacles with PS/Rioters saying one thing and something completely different happening. Here are 3 different PS people telling me that a lot of the 2018 Lunar Revel content wouldn't be coming back (Wukong emote, Ruby chromas, Gold chromas / https://i.imgur.com/xpZDUiY.png), something I followed up with non-PS Rioters to clarify as well. Then when the content comes back after I spent over $100 on RP just for that content based on what I was told, I get a "sadly there's really nothing I can do here" (https://i.imgur.com/npgCdwp.png) You know what happened the last time Riot said content would "never come back" and then it did? Players got an RP refund, an icon, and a special loading screen border (https://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/store/sales/plan-vintage-limited-edition-skins) or at the very least got a special version of the skin (Championship Riven: https://boards.pbe.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/general-pbe-feedback/M3soEg9r-an-update-on-championship-riven / PAX Sivir: https://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/champions-skins/skin-release/neo-pax-sivir-and-epic-capsules) It wasn't like this in the beta. PS worked hand-in-hand with the rest of Riot. I know that can't happen due to the scale of LoL, but you'd think they would at least have a way to escalate key issues. Instead, you have to go to some social media platform, hope your story resonates with people, and get enough traction that some Rioter with influence takes notice and does something about it. Even then it is unlikely. Another example, it's been 5 years since Hippalus and Tryndamere promised to get back to original Limited Edition skin owners better compensation ("Hip himself is working on additional (longer term) projects that should also help our most dedicated players feel appropriately recognized" https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/1u4317/tryndamere_w_context_on_riot/ceeqzj4/). I really want to support Riot Games! I've been following them since early, early closed beta. But the company has really changed from being "Player Experience First" to "do whatever we can get away with" it seems. From major fiascos within the company to sleazy marketing schemes (https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/af8642/the_psychological_manipulation_of_prestige_aatrox/), they've really changed over the years into something I barely recognize... and it hurts when a company I loved keeps doing these things and continuing like they aren't even trying to get better. Whew. Okay, so really, who do we contact / what do we do? Why is there no team dedicated to handling escalation and things outside of the norm? We have Rioters whose sole job is about managing talking to Influencers / Affiliates / Partners (https://partners.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/), you'd think they could get someone to deal with the above issues?

When they stop their shallow promise making will be the actual surprise. Oh, I've made a huge list of promises that were never fulfilled and other promises that were blatant lies with the opposite being true. I've sent it to Riot and their Player Support, but they "don't have the means to escalate it to the proper channels who can make any action." And when I bring it up, despite following all the rules on the reddit subforum, the mods delete it with no reason and will not explain why. HUZZAH! ... =/
: Actually I don't remember borders being available for buying stuff early for free. The first borders were project skins and we could only get them by paying full price before they went on sale. Most skin borders were from buying skins at full price instead of a sale price. In a sense you did pay extra for the borders because you chose to pay the full value instead of a sale price so they had something attached to it. Now Riot said "screw it, we don't want to give an early sale anymore, now you pay extra" and charges us extra for the amount the sales prices used to take off for early purchases and add it to the total.

Uh... no. Paying "full price instead of waiting for a sale a long time later" is not the same as "paying extra" at all.

Same. I know a few Rioters have read it, but they don't have anything to add or comment on in regards to it. I was actually spurred by a Rioter to make the post. There are some bugs with Limited Edition (LE) skin borders still. They've been bugged for over a year and still haven't been addressed.
