: What exactly does not work? You see the font files and can preview them, but not download them? Or you can't convert them? Downloading works by simply opening a font file in a new tab. Converting I have no idea why that would or would not work, try another converter, I tried a few before it worked for me.

: it's called _Beaufort-for-lol_ or just _Beaufort_, I think it is also a variation of what they used in-game. I managed to grab it off universe, but probably can't post it here (because it's 35€ if you wanted to buy it). Instead, here is how it's done: (assuming you use chrome) * Press F12 for the developer mode, go to "Network" and select "Fonts". * Reload the page, now you should be able to see all loaded fonts with a weird name. (Italic, Bold, etc, as well as combinations thereof, are different files I think.) * Download the woff / woff2 files, if you can use them, great, if not, use an online converter to make them a ttf file.
> * Download the woff / woff2 files, if you can use them, great, if not, use an online converter to make them a ttf file. Not working for me, lol. I must be doing something wrong.

: WTF is up with Transcended (Unmasked) Kayle's face?
It looks like a Pool Party skin with some added armor bits, frankly.
: What Shōnen is Riot basing the event off?
It's probably My Hero Academia. The teaser has four clubs listed (Battle, Engineer, Sorcery, Assassination) plus a "Teacher" line. This is probably for that new "book support" champ that was teased earlier in the week.
: State of Skins 2019
So. No Yorick skin this year? Glad I get to save my money from my new job for another 12 months.
: Patch 9.2 notes
No mention of Yorick in the patch preview video. Really confident about these changes, aren't you, Riot?
: What is your goal for this upcoming season?
Save my money and hold my breath for a Yorick skin that Riot is proud to present and showcase. One that shows there was genuine effort in it's concept, implementation, and execution. I plan on remaining at 0 RP for a very long time.
: I recently finished unlocking all of the characters in Smash with my friends so this is fresh on my mind... kinda. I've always wanted to see Geno, Jeff, and Poo since Super Smash Bros. Melee, but that was way before Nintendo kicked open the gates and allowed any console video game character under the sun to hop on in. I'd like to see any of the following join the roster: * Alma (Final Fantasy Tactics) * Blaziken (Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire) * Builder (Dragon Quest Builders * Commander (XCOM: Enemy Unknown) * Crono (Chrono Trigger) * Geno (Super Mario RPG) * Isaac (Golden Sun) * Jeff (Earthbound) * Kairi (Kingdom Hearts) * Mallow (Super Mario RPG) * Poo (Earthbound) * Ramza (Final Fantasy Tactics) * The Red Prince (Divinity Original Sin II) * Rydia (Final Fantasy IV) * Sora (Kingdom Hearts) * Tali (Mass Effect) * Wei Shen (Sleeping Dogs) * X (Megaman X) * Zero (Megaman X) The Commander would be like Pokemon Trainer and command a group composed of Assault, Heavy, and Support class soldiers.

: This my dawg Nasus!
"The cycle of bark and woof continues."
: How come everyone suddenly loves morello?
Morello no longer works directly on League itself. He's been working on some double secret, hush-hush, "oh god someone is talking about it we must shut him up now get the nukes" side project for Riot. Essentially, he removed himself from the firing lines and let other people feel that community heat.
: Pyke hasn't been out for a year yet and gets a new skin
Yorick waited six years, three failed reworks, one realized rework intentionally designed to bury the champ deeper, and an extra year before he got a really lazily conceived and designed skin that most of the hardcore fans were beyond disappointed with. Urgot waited even longer and got an afterthought for his skin. (High Noon was all about Lucian and Thresh, while Urgot was just thrown in as an attempt to shut his fans up.) Pyke will get his. It will suck, it won't sell well, and Riot will be able to focus on more Ahri and Soraka skins because TenCent demands more money.

: Correct. This chroma is still being tied to the League Partner Program so it's being priced at a higher value than other chromas. The chroma wasn't previously going to be available for purchase at all except via distribution through the League Partner Program, but that has been changed with this announcement.

Kinda expensive given that you have to buy the skin AND give up one or two champs to get this...
: Upcoming changes to League Partner chromas
I need a clarification. So, after six months... I have to buy the skin AND spend BE on the chroma?
: New Prestige Kai'sa skin is 2500 worlds tokens...
There are booster packs in the shop you can spend RP on to help with that grind... You know, because "pride and accomplishment" and all that nonsense.
: I didn’t write or direct the test RW, so not sure the reasons here. Often new talent is often required because of schedualing problems, new colors in the acting, or unfortunately the actor’s voice age. An actor’s voice ages as they do or from straining work— ussually slower than an actors appearance, but you can hear when a 40 year old woman is trying to sound 20. Again I don’t know in this instance but we always try to hear the original talent.
Are you writing these on a mobile device? Quite a few typos and grammar errors here.

Camille's ultimate and passive has a lot of creativity potential. I think she can fit into pop star better than akali with gem shields and a concert stage ultimate. ~~as well as a camille cabello reference~~ It's a catch-22 situation. Sure, they could make a Pulsefire Camille, but it might looked like a forced and cynical job rather than something the team cared about. Take, for example, Arclight Yorick. Yorick went through over six years BS excuses about why he never got a skin, even after his rework, only for the team to force through a really mediocre "effort," done entirely by rookies on the team, with no sense of pride from the company. It was like the team said "Here's a f@#$ing Yorick skin, now stop meme-ing us!" Of course, there are people who genuinely like Arclight Yorick. I just stare at them and make sure I know where they are at all times.
: [Discussion] I wanted to ask something regarding character appeal to players
Old Yorick appealed to me because he was the "Anti-Champion." Everyone else was this "paragon of virtue" or this "evil among evils." They were the ultimate examples of their professions or skills... Then, you had Yorick Mori, a mortician/gravedigger who had greatness thrust upon him thanks to a magic shovel. Sure, he had helpers (his three ghouls) and he could make a clone that could survive death, but he did his work on his own. My personal appeal comes from my family, a successive line of blue-collar workers, and there's no more blue collar job than a digger. Yeah, he was ugly. Yeah, he nearly destroyed the game when it came out. Yeah, every single fucking person at Riot hated him and anyone who liked playing him. But he was the champ that got me into League and kept me around for a long time. New Yorick, conversely, has none of that. He's an adult version of that brat from _The Sixth Sense_ that carries half a statue's face on his back and talks to something that makes the Alien Queen look like Scarlett Johansson. His "monk" story has nothing to do with his kit or his gameplay, and the people at Riot still hate him, anyone who plays him, and everyone who has ever cosplayed as him.
: How does the economics of skins work?
We don't know the EXACT economics. Riot keeps that knowledge tightly under wraps. : So I'm gonna be totally honest. (buckle up) When Pyke was entering pre-production, narrative was also looking at Nautilus's lore. He along with Fizz and a few other champs were still outliers from our recon / current lore. And there **was** concern Pyke was too close to Nautilus. But internally, our leads felt that Pyke hit the "revenant" thematic better than Nautilus. Then the plan was to change Nautilus's lore significantly-- prior to Pyke's release. --And actually they were going to change Nautilus to something I pitched to solve the problem. An extremely difficult and lonely duty working as a sentinel for as long as he could keep... going.) Internally teams loved it. **BUT** that pitch was then taken to players with a rather larger survey and... the players hated it. They wanted Nautilus to stay a revenant. Yeah. Uh.. oh.. By now Pyke was well into production (and VO) and it was uncertain how / who was going to fix Nautilus. (And I was on another project) My assumption was that Matt did not know what Nautilus was going to be (or that Naut was going to stay the same) when he wrote the lines for Pyke-- so he avoided the character-- because he didn't have anything to write towards.

You need to give the fans a reason to trust you, **which is something Riot's Narrative department has NEVER done.** It's always been "please trust us" and "we're know asking for faith when we don't deserve it, but..." However, you guys have NEVER delivered on that trust or faith. Ever. > Times change. Character's that do not change are dead. They fall away forgotten. i.e. Batman has been: funny, Goth, dark, nippled, lego, and gloomily envious of superman. My dad loved the Adam West version and hated all others. I love the dark knight. There is no right answer. Only versions that are successful or not. If you really want to use Batman as an example, you're going about it ass backwards. Should I be shocked? The _tone_ of the Batman stories have changed from era to era, from amateur detective and vigilante (Early days) to goofy Silver Age mess (Bat-Baby), to campy silliness (Adam West), to brooding SOB (Dark Knight Returns), to impossibly intelligent and borderline paranoid (modern). However, the _character_ of Bruce Wayne (Billionaire playboy, philanthropist, carefree owner of Wayne Enterprises) and his origin story (Thomas & Martha Wayne getting shot in Crime Alley, criminals being a "superstitious and cowardly lot," and choosing the bat as his symbol because one flew threw his window one night) have not changed. The core ideas that Batman needs a fortune to fight his war on crime, that he's capable of being one-step ahead of his Rogues Gallery, that he can both out think and out fight his opponents, or that he can convince the "normal" world that he's not Batman, have not changed with the shift in tone. Change _any_ of those core ideas about Batman and you have a completely different character... You have Green Arrow. Also know that every time the tone shifted with Batman, there was a huge amount of backlash from fans. When he want from independent detective in the 1940s to campy goofball in the 1950s and 1960s, there was backlash. When Batman shifted from campy goofball to the dark and brooding jerk, there was a backlash. When he went from dark & brooding to what the Animated Series version was, there was backlash. Every... Single... Time... And, except for one year when someone else became Batman, the editors and publishers stuck to their batarangs because they believed that the changes were better. And they were right because they had current fans who thought the changes were good and incoming fans who only knew the new version. Let's bring it back to Nautilus. You guys had an _idea_ to change Nautilus, but you all weren't prepared to deal with the backlash or defend it. Maybe you guys realized the fans were right... Maybe Wenceslaus burned every bridge when he pushed for those political changes to Varus... Maybe it was going to be too much work to defend the changes and you all didn't want to try. All we know is that Pyke fans now have to suffer through a disappointing VO and a lore reveal that might explain the reasoning, but won't really justify it.

But it isn't. _Because reasons_. That's incredibly incredulous. There are a lot of reasons (all have been discussed somewhere). It's clear you guys expected something I didn't deliver. I will own up to that and take the requisite licks for it. I will tell you that while it might feel like omission for omission, it wasn't. Either way, I hear you and will do better in the future.

In all seriousness, why should players trust you (individually and as a group) to "do better in the future" when you're supposed to deliver highest possible quality content every time? With only 6 champs a year, there aren't too many opportunities for less than your collective best efforts...
: Ariel (AKA Thermal Kitten) has been sitting on this story for more than 18 months. We were looking for ANY opportunity to release it, and I'm so glad it's finally out there. Boom. Lore headshot.
Sorry, but 18 months is ridiculous even for an international mega corporation like Riot Games. Either the marketing boys need to step up their game or this stuff needs to be released sooner.
Sasogwa (EUW)
: Think about one change that would completely destroy the meta as we know it
Yorick becomes viable in top lane. Would destroy everything until the hotfix.
Joetri10 (EUW)
: Riot doesn't listen AT ALL to feedback (Confirmed due to Evelynn Skin)
Same feedback many Yorick fans left for the Arclight skin... similar response of "We hear you, but we're still doing this. Deal with it." I would say Yorick's worse off since he's not getting another skin until 2023 (if League survives that long), but it still sucks.
: [Discussion] What's your favourite Skin?
Pentakill Yorick. Favorite skin for my favorite champ.
: Publish that bad boy on your blog/website/whatever or post it here on boards, or both. We love a good fic.
Wait... two years ago, AntInOz and Jaredan both said that the company couldn't read fan fiction because of legal reasons (they might steal ideas that could lead to copyright problems...) Now, it's okay, that the team now enjoys a good fan-fic? What changed, if anything?
: Quick Notes: Showmatch Showdown
This should be twice a year. Halloween and Thanksgiving would be the best bet. (since Worlds is in October).
: Thank you for reaching out! We've said a few times recently, we are working to update Soraka's bio to fit into the more current lore. We're just looking for the best time to release pieces of content like that, which don't fit into the overall plan/strategy for story stuffs.

We're just looking for the best time to release pieces of content like that, which don't fit into the overall plan/strategy for story stuffs. In all seriousness, do you really need to have another Mt. Targon event to release an update for Soraka? Does Marketing really have that much control over what gets done by the creative half of the campus?
: By the old gods and the new... You really want to make us work for this, don't you! :-P Thank you for the comprehensive and eloquent notes. We will read everything properly ASAP.

: Nautilus lore - what's most important to you?
1. **Size** - As big as Galio, but not nearly as happy or excited. Nautilus trudges the depths of Runeterra's oceans and experiences every agonizing, boring second. Whether that turns him into an Eeyore-like being suffering through a perpetual Monday or something far darker is up to you guys. 2. **Purpose** - Nautilus, given his size and power, should be considered a "Leviathan" kind of myth for sailors, pirates, and landlubbers. Every sailor worth their sea salt should have a "time I got away from Nautilus" story. The other aspect of this is: Is Nautilus just destroying ships at random or is he protecting Runeterrans from getting too close to something worse than him? (Kinda like that guardian of the time gate at the end of the first run of _Samurai Jack_.) 3. **Backstory **- This should be rumors (like Amumu), but from sailors who need to be really drunk to get the story out without their PTSD kicking in. Every encounter should also have some differing elements, based on the kind of story you're trying to tell. Perhaps a journalist or a chronicler trying to discover the identity of the original victim... 4. **Champion Interaction** - There should be some definite exploration with Fizz, Nami, and Illaoi (and Nagakabouros) as well as the surface champions of Bilgewater (Gangplank, Miss Fortune, Graves, Twisted Fate). Is Nautilus an enemy of Nagakabouros? Did Nautilus destroy Fizz's village? Does Nauti have something to do with Nami's moonstones? 5. **No Darkin backstory** - Enough said...

: Aw man, I loved working on Ivern so much. I would love for him to get a new skin. Fun fact, when we were brainstorming his Launch skin, one idea we all loved (but couldn't accomplish due to scope) was Alien Abduction Ivern. Instead of "freeing" jungle camps, he would beam them up to his space ship. I hope we get to make that one day.

One day, maybe... too bad Ivern's just not popular enough to justify making a skin for... or he has too many models in his rig... or that he's a special snowflake... or that the skins team hasn't found the right ideation project... or that the team just doesn't want to make one... or that Riot hates Ivern players as much as they hate Urgot and Yorick mains... I mean, take your pick. I hear those excuses and reasons all the time.

: *yawn* >If this team WAS going to deliver on an Urgot skin in 2018, they'd have announced it in the video. Since they didn't, they're not. History is more on my side in this case. Lel. No. No, they won't. They do NOT always announce the upcoming skins they have for champions as they pretty much never have. The only things they put on the list were those that were needing skins (a lot of which the community had been begging for). It's the same with the previous list Viktor, Illaoi, Yorick and Cassio were all champions that people had badly wanted skins for since Viktor and Cassio hadn't seen them in years, Illaoi hadn't gotten anything since the day of her release and Yorick was a recently VGU champion. The current list has champions like A. Sol cause he was released in 2016 and hasn't seen a single thing since then. Others like Heimerdinger, Vlad, Shen are those that have had people wanting something new for several years as they are fairly popluar champions. Urgot is old and should have a skin, yes, but he was also a previously underplayed champion until having been given a VGU 8 months ago. He only became popular after that, but even that still doesn't mean we'll see tons of skins since a 6 legged creature isn't gonna be the easiest thing to slap a skin on. He has 3 skins, so yes, he's low on them but one is still 1350 and is a great quality plus his others were given extra bits for the update and hold more quality than previous 520s. They didn't say Eve there either, but I feel she will see one sometime this year as it's been pretty clear with their recent VGUs of champions such as Fiora, Poppy, Taric, Warwick, that they want to get new skins to them ASAP. The longest one was Sion, that happened about a year and a half after the update. At the same time they don't want to rush them, or its gonna be something that is completely worthless.
> [{quoted}](name=Sukishoo,realm=NA,application-id=6kFXY1kR,discussion-id=QXZydMl1,comment-id=0003000200000000000000000000,timestamp=2018-03-13T23:09:04.554+0000) > > *yawn* You act bored, yet you continue to respond... Odd... > Edited for space * The history lesson was pointless, at best. * You mention "popularity" a lot, something the skins team has claimed doesn't matter to them. Are you saying that popularity _does_ matter and that their claims to the contrary are false? * The justifications for Urgot not getting a skin this year would be consistent with Riot's statements in the past, if not for Dragon Master Swain being released super early (which was just to kill the meme). Therefore, they no longer hold water. IF the team wanted to make an Urgot skin quickly, they seem more than capable of doing so given what I've seen. * You "feel" that Eve will get a new skin this year? Based on what? She wasn't mentioned in the video, like you said, yet you choose to believe? If all you have is faith to justify your conclusions, so be it. I've been down that path and it's been nothing but disappointment and frustration.

: And you are still crying :) Champions that recently had VGUs will get skins eventually. So just live with it. You DON'T know what is happening or what isn't cause again that's not all the skins they have in production.
> [{quoted}](name=Sukishoo,realm=NA,application-id=6kFXY1kR,discussion-id=QXZydMl1,comment-id=00030002000000000000,timestamp=2018-03-13T21:54:55.928+0000) > > And you are still crying :) Nah, just telling the truth as I see it. :) > Champions that recently had VGUs will get skins eventually. So just live with it. Eventually, sure. I just wish that this team would just drop all the excuses and false "for the players" pretenses and admit that they make skins based on what they think will sell and little else. They'll throw a bone for the "niche" champs here and there, but only put their focus and best efforts on the ones that could make money for Riot and Tencent. So, no. I won't "just live with it." :) > You DON'T know what is happening or what isn't cause again that's not all the skins they have in production. To be blunt, neither do you. All you have a cheeky little comment _"She did say they might get some others in there that she didn't mention."_ However, I have seven years of experience interacting with a department that learned to not make promises they don't intend to keep. Hell, you were the one who proved that there were no other neglected champs that received skins in 2017 that weren't mentioned in the last Dev Blog during our previous conversation! If this team WAS going to deliver on an Urgot skin in 2018, they'd have announced it in the video. Since they didn't, they're not. History is more on my side in this case. Then again, If you want to have _faith_, please do so and don't let me stop you. When it comes to Riot Games, I find that path leads to madness.

Didn't we already have this conversation _last week_? To reiterate: When it comes to Riot Games, I never deal in "maybe." To do so is to flirt with madness. If SuperCakes, the head of the Riot Skins team, didn't mention it in the video then it's not happening.
: Last week, Supercakes talked about skins and specifically addressed bringing skins for some champs that have been left out in the cold for a while https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nd7tB99T1hY (Skip to uhh, 4:19 for the specifically relevant bit, but there's some interesting stuff in the rest of the video too.)
