: Rethinking Ranked Fives and Tuning Dynamic Queue
I mean the biggest issue is I dont care about emblems. That place on the SOLO Q ladder has my name on it. And its being effected by groups, on my team or theirs because of communication. Its not hard to see what happens at 12 mins into the game when people group and start taking stuff while my team is in the laning phase still. And or teamfights/rotations are much smoother. You simply cannot beat that with pings and stopping to type. Nothing gets on my nerves more when im in jungle and the next thing you know im being invaded by 2-3 people working together in comms. While my team has no clue whats happening yet. The whole "Dynamic" and Philosophy has changed since season 6. Its like the SOLO Qer is being punished. Why cant we have separate MMR's for grouping and the solo grind? An emblem is not going to combat any of these problems I listed. Even with Voice chat coming in the future. Its no guarantee everyone will use it. And are you guys going to listen to each game to see who was toxic or not? Maybe its time to reduce LP gained for people grouping. And give extra LP for people going Solo. We can all operate on the same ladder this way. Because for the soloQ player it gets really one sided. Its not like it was in season 2 anymore. One mistake from your own team could end the game, And it sucks because you dont have the same communication they do. Before in Solo Q, You used to be able to read what the person was going to do with a series of movements and pings. It was sweet setting up that wombo with no words at all. You had a mental connection with your team members. All that has changed. Does any of this make sense to anyone else? Or am I alone?
: It’s not a feature that’s currently planned to be added, but we do recognize that this is a feature that’s requested quite often. What we’re committing to is to conduct research on it to understand more of why players want an offline/invisible mode and what activity they expect to take while in that state. We usually conduct research via in-person player labs, surveys, and collecting data from players around the world. So, we are not going to say “yes” or “no” to the request at the moment, but we’re committed to learning more about it so the best decision that would affect all players globally can be made.

Can we stop with the psychology on every single decision made. Its not hard to figure out why we want this. Stop treating us like we dont know better. Its getting old.

Why not award more LP to soloQ players.

And yet another patch with no rengar bug fixes.

Can we talk about Udyr and Nasus? Id like to know you're guys' current ideas for each champion.

Im looking forward to some UDYR changes. I think he could use a little love. Hes kind of getting left behind with all the other changes. Id like to keep his identity though. Doesn't need a complete rework.

We haven’t pinpointed a solution yet, but we have identified some back-end systems that need adjustments in order to properly handle the high volume of games. Once we have a fix we’re confident in, we’ll be rolling the new champ select and Dynamic Ranked back out to the game ASAP. We’ll start in one region, and if successful, roll out to other affected regions. The last thing we want is to return the feature to you, only for it to need to come down again. > > Q: What about Party Rewards? > A: We'll be extending the Party Rewards Week to account for Dynamic Ranked and new champ select’s downtime. > > We’ll continuously update this post, with another update coming within 24 hours, and another on Monday if service isn’t restored. : Unfortunately yes. As with any external application, you would ultimately be responsible for any functionality that they choose to include (hard truth), but it's worth noting that we're not going to suddenly ban you without a thorough investigation; an ''accident'' like the one you've described would be fairly obvious to our systems.

People shouldnt be scared about using them. We really do need a concrete answer as some people worry about the grey area's. And no one wants to make or take a risk if they aren't approved. This one is more up my alley than her's, so I'll chime in. (My team handles the 3rd party developer program) It's a good idea and something we have explored in the past. Ultimately however we've made the call (and least for now) to not dive into such a program. The problem is that the internet (links) and software (dev apps) are highly dynamic. What we review and approve on one day could the next be highly dangerous, either because the Devs pivoted in a new way, because their code was infiltrated (much like the recent security flaw that hit WeChat and many other common mobile apps due to malcious code snuck into 3rd party libraries they use), or multiple other concerns. The amount of resources it would take for us to police this sort of ecosystem constantly to ensure that the "safe" list is 100% always safe is simply too large, especially when you factor in the damage possible by the ONE time that something snuck by. (For comparison, Apple has HUNDREDS of people who review apps for approval 24/7.) Instead, we prefer to create rules that say "if it fits within these policies it's ok to use, in a policy sense, but the security and safety of your system and account are at your discretion." This is also why we prefer to highlight and support web apps and tools that are cloud based, and not ones that require you to download software to your system. (It's also why the most recent API dev challenge required all valid entries to not include downloaded components as well.) Truth be told, people SHOULD be scared about using these (downloaded) software, and we will always highlight that risk and concern. A lot of bad people out there want access to your info, and would love to use the popularity of league to further that agenda given the chance.

Will you guys let the community know in the future like you did with curse voice? Whats acceptable and what is not? Im just worried about one day hey im using this app. It has been approved then bam someone does what you said and puts in a cool down timer or something. Not knowing I update app. Start a game and bam there it is. Would this be my fault?

: Reminder: Third Party Applications
Hello Riot Cluvie, I have a suggestion for the 3rd party programs. Since you guys have a well laid out website already. Would it be possible for 3rd party devs to give you their applications. They go through beta testing. Then on your website you have 3rd party apps APPROVED by Riot games. So you would have two area's. Approved Beta apps. And Approved finalized apps. This way you are working close with the developers. You can make sure everything up to Riot Games standards. I strongly believe communication between Riot Games and 3rd party app developers would help make production for the game on both sides more streamline. For example there are a few apps that provide replays. Some will send you a email. Some will give you a link to download them. I wish someone would work with you guys and make a replay system that records the game and puts it into a folder where you can access it anytime. Because as of now we have a problem. This would fix the issue you would be worried about with the server overload for the replay system that has been talked about. I am not sure on what your guys' plan actually is with this situation. But any transparency would be great as far as a reliable replay system goes. I think working with 3rd party developers closely could help Riot Games move forward with out any stress on your internal systems. Edit: was reading some of this post. And Riot Sargonas said, In short, I clarified that it no longer violated the policies, I did not however give it a clear "approval", and I even addressed this later in the thread elsewhere by stating that we did not keep an approved list nor intended to.
