Yes he gets bullied in lane. And the reason is the "power neutral change" to the cooldown to Flamespitter. Rumble can no longer build heat at level 1 or pressure his opponents early. Then Adaptive Helm and Bone Plating was added, and magic pen was deleted from Haunting Guise. Not to mention DFT being removed with no replacement. Rumble was not overpowered when Flamespitter was at 6 seconds. Reverting the cooldown change may bring Rumble back to being okay.

It's fun and silly. There is audio available for each mission, failure/success, (all voice acted) and even background sound. My only (other) complaint is that there's no Rumble figure even though he's like, the center of the plot, haha.

I was very hopeful that after new runes for Precision and Domination that Sorcery would be next. I am still very hungry for a keystone that would be useful on old DFT users. Something like Conqueror except for AP / hitting spells would be amazing. Yes I main Rumble.

Are you guys done messing with Rumble? I thought it was said that his core issues would be looked at more, but he ended up just getting an early game numbers buff... which resulted in about a 1% win rate increase. With bone plating, second wind, dorans shield, specter's cowl, and adaptive helm out and about, these number buffs didn't do a whole lot. The biggest change that hurt rumble was the CD change to his flamespitter. I felt he was in a pretty good spot before that. Also, would you guys mind taking a good hard look at Scrap Shield? It's kind of a junk ability (pun intended) and could be improved or replaced. Thanks, - a Rumble main who doesn't like playing his favorite champion currently

As a Rumble main, I've got to say, Scrap Shield is the most boring do-nothing spells in the game. Both the shield and movement speed are very minor. Usually you're just spamming it to get back to lane, using it to quickly build heat, or generally using the shield to soak a bit of damage. I don't really care about being in the danger zone when I use it, either. I do wish they would replace Rumble's W with something more... interesting. Your "Mecha Thrusters" idea would be nice.

Please don't fumble the Rumble. Are there any chances of seeing Flamespitter at a lower cooldown? When it was changed from 6 seconds at all ranks, that really hurt. What about giving The Equalizer the initial damage it once had? With Liandry's now more of a situational item and no Death Fire Touch, Rumble is in trouble. In any case, I'm glad he's finally on the radar for some adjustments.
: Heyo! Thanks for the post and thoughts. Wanted to specifically comment on the discussion of removing the linger. I agree that even with the rest of the list, what went to PBE today may have been a nerf. I certainly want to avoid that, so testing some more straight-forward damage buffs on Q and R tomorrow instead. I believe in the future revisiting removing R's linger is good; it has a clearer effect, rewards good usage, and we can pack a lot more power into it. But we would need more time to understand what buffs would bring that change to neutral; I'm interested in folks perspectives around that.
Any chance you guys might try putting the initial nuke damage that the equalizer once had back on? Also, reverting the cooldown on his Q to 6 secs at all ranks would be nice (with appropriate stat adjustments).
: The icon was created based on feedback that basically every skin this year had an icon released along side it - even some of the one offs. It felt shitty that a champion who waited 4+ years to get a new skin also got shafted on an icon, too. After developing this icon, we've been discussing why we make icons. This may mean that every skin won't have an icon, but we want to make sure we're making icons for the right reasons.
All I want out of life is a Super Galaxy Rumble icon I've wanted it for years... Please... consider.

: A lot of it was that the team had really strong concepts for how to make Irelia better that they were really excited to work on. Some of it's also that while how bad a state a champion is in is a major driving factor in selecting VGUs the number of people we can make happy and excited with one's also relevent. Irelia ranked really highly in that regard, in terms of untapped potential and player attachment. Don't get me wrong, Nunu and Morde are both really close to the top of our list of VGU candidates too though.
I Rumble in there somewhere? I believe it was said before that he isn't eligible for skins until a VGU due to rigging issues...

I believe that if someone wants to intentionally get to 40 CDR, it would be better to have some items more focused on the CDR stat as its primary bonus for completing the item. Why does morellonomicon give 20% cdr? It already has grevious wounds and mana regen. I'm not advocating straight up removing CDR from items, I just feel like there's 10% CDR on every other item.. Keep in mind that also there's that new Rune that gives 10% CDR and ap/ad for each percent over 40% CDR.

: It's definitely on the books to be looked at, though no pressing desire imminently given all the other things that are going on. We'd like to make it an item that has more contextual strengths that you actually care about. Current Ohmwrecker is an item that best case you'd buy as a 3rd or 4th item - but likely even later, and if you ARE buying it, you're probably either already winning, or have a tank that doesn't mind tanking a few turret shots for a dive. TL;DR - currently has a use case that's super limited and also not super exciting, we want to work on it, not sure exactly when we'll get to it.
Why not have it reflect tower shots instead of disabling the turret?

Phase Rush requires 3 unique abilities to activate within 2 seconds. Champions such as {{champion:68}} are going to have a hard time getting that off. Why do they have to be unique abilities? Even then, it feels pretty crappy to not have options and being forced to use optimal runes.

Compare that to CHEAP SHOT which is 12 true damage every 4 seconds (yes I know it has the condition of impaired movement, but that just means it's going to be a lot stronger for some champions than it is for others). Other than that, I'm scared for my Rumble matchups. Not only does he seem to not have a lot of great rune choices, enemies have amazing rune and item choices against him. Turns out, this guy was just missing the VFX that base had. (Both guns have a gap in them, but with VFX, you don't notice it!) I'm sorry to reply to you here, but there are a few Rumble bugs new to 7.18 that hits him pretty hard, such as not receiving the Danger Zone bonus damage sometimes while he has the orange bar and he can't fire his E at all while overheated. I'm just concerned that this will be live during worlds since Rumble is a competitive pick...
: Yeah, but since then his E has changed. It used to be a spell that you could activate twice before it went on cooldown, now it is a charge based spell that doesn't stay active after you fire it. I could be wrong but I don't think you are supposed to be able to fire one while you are overheated since that change.

: Since they are individual spells that work on a charge system he shouldn't be able to shoot them while silenced. That sounds like it is working as intended.

: I don't think we're looking do to a VGU for Rumble. While Rumble does have his issues (mostly thematic; why is a dude in a mechanized battle suit a mage?), his kit is in a good place in terms of game health. He exists in a very unique space and any time he's touched there's a risk of losing some of the intricacies of his kit that make him such an interesting champion from a gameplay perspective. That said, I do think his visuals could use an update, but that's not really in our purview here at the playtest team. We're more hooked into gameplay, and I don't think Rumble needs changes there at the moment.
If there's question to why Rumble is a mage, why is Ziggs and Heimerdinger a mage? They'd be in the same boat; Zigg's just a dude who throws explosives, and Heimer sets up turrets and shoots rockets.
