This may seem like it's a good idea on paper, but in practice, it's going to invalidate even more champions that don't have as much mobility as {{champion:7}} and rely on utilizing dashes to stick or kill people
if you were to implement the idea of reducing the speed or distance of dashes based on how slowed they are, I think that could be worked around. Warwicks ultimate already goes down in distance and speed when he's slowed, so thats not a problem there. Also, Evelyns Ult and Lissandra's E aren't dashes per se, but spells that instantly reposition the champion, and therefore wouldnt be affected. for the others though, you could work around the mechanic. If riot thinks Vi or Gragas absolutely need their dashes to always go the full distance, for example, they could have them be slow immune during the dash. or be slow resistant or whatever riot decides

I said the champs were super simple (which is mostly true) and that the game is opaque and sometimes hard to learn. for the first item, can I ask who that would be for? it seems oddly weak for a finished item; who did you imagine getting it? the second one seems really cool. I like items that give on-hit a more interesting niche than "you do more damage but its magic this time." you may need to reduce the healing percentage on ranged characters so they dont abuse it though :)

I believe a rioter said in a comment something akin to: "IF we end up changing Morganas kit, we will MOST LIKELY touch up the passive and/or W." nothing set in stone there, but changes to those abilities would make sense.

I understand how sometimes you can get burnt out on a champion after trying to make them work for too long and failing. I've found that the best remedy to that, and to hitting a dead end creatively in general, is to get others to bounce your ideas off of. they can suggest even the tiniest thing that could send you on a rampage of creativity. you could set up a discord or Google drive group or something (which I'd even love to be a part of, just to contribute ideas) :)

Im so very very sorry for what you must have had to go through. I havent personally had any similar loss, but I love love love Nunu's lore and voice lines as well. His voice actor is amazing, and they got him to be very childlike and endearing without being annoying like Zoe. When I first watched his reveal trailer, it was the most excited I think I''ve ever been for a character. They're just so genuinely loveable and funny to watch, and Nunu has been my go-to tank ever since. Also, and I mean absolutely no disrespect by this, but it's kind of interesting as well that Nunu's lore in a way mirrors your life. You lost your boy and have had to learn to cope with that, and Nunu is missing both of his parents and has had to get by with that as well. its amazing what happens when riot puts genuine thought and love into their characters :) have a great day sir!

: I've only written one story for Riot, but there were a few phases to it. Note - I was _SUPER_ new to the process, so there was a misstep I made and quite a lot of hand holding on the part of the editing team, who were great. 1. **Coming up with a bunch of pitches.** First thing was coming up with several pitches with 4-7 beats bullet-pointed out. 0. **Identifying pillars.** (This should be numbered zero, instead of two!) At this point, I had several pitches, with beats, but I was having trouble identifying which ones were better than others. Another Rioter writer offered to talk me through the problem, and said that something that helped him was to work out what the pillars of the story were - what I was trying to achieve. There might be a couple of these, but until you've worked this out, you're really just wasting your own time! 2. **Narrow down to three pitches.** Now that I could measure the goodness of the many pitches, I could identify which best fulfilled the pillars (and/or come up with some new ones). Then I sent those three to the stakeholders (and told my editor which one I felt was strongest) to see if they agreed they were headed in the right direction, and what one (if any) to move forward with. In my case, the one I felt was strongest was picked. 3. **Write a first draft.** The editor had given me a deadline for a first draft (I requested that it be as soon as possible, so we could iterate more frequently) and a word count range. I spent a day stumbling over the start of the story before kicking myself into just finishing the first draft, crap beginning and all. That helped a lot. So over the course of a couple of days, I got that first draft written, hitting all of the beats from the bullet point list in the pitch. 4. **Cut.** At this point, I had written twice as many words as was the maximum allowed for the piece. Doh! Before I even let my editor take a look, I spent the last day or two before my first deadline, just cutting like a mad-woman. Whole paragraphs of setup and description - gone. In the style of Stephen King, I went on an adjective massacre. Even still, it was over 200 words over the maximum limit by the time my first draft deadline hit. 5. **Submit first draft.** Sent it off to the editor, and I gave him a few days to take a look over it. (This took a bit longer than might normally happen, but real life was going down, and couldn't be helped.) 6. **Fix problems for second draft.** A few days after that, I got a version back that, honestly, was more yellow-highlight-for-editing than it was untouched. Basically, I had too many character points of view, and for the length of the piece, that was overkill. So I rewrote about 80% of the story to have it be only from one character's perspective. Managed to trim down a few words while I was at it, but STILL over the limit. Fixed a few other issues, some suggested changes - but at this point, every beat in the pitch is still being hit. Very little deviation from that initial outline. 7. **Submit 2nd draft for SME feedback.** At this point, time was pretty short, and the state of the story was considered in a finished enough state, to submit to the rest of the process. It was sent off to various SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) for blind feedback, so that if there were any problems or contradictions or cross-product issues, they could be identified. They keep this blind so the writer doesn't get inundated with possibly contradictory, wildly irregular, feedback - it goes via the editor. 8. **Fixes and copy editing.** Working with my editor (in a Google doc, live editing a shared file) we picked apart any last sentences or paragraphs that needed a fix up, with the SME feedback. Here, there was one or two, but generally it was more correcting the order of a sentence or so, rather than anything content wise. We get this done in an hour or two - working remote because in this case, we're in different offices. 9. **Copy editing.** I say goodbye to my story, and leave it in the capable hands of the editing team. Life happens, again, so the copy editing doesn't go down until the last minute - I get 'accosted' once or twice by a manic looking editor asking for my feels about some last minute tweaks, and I respond as best I can. After that, it's out of my hands and off to the localization team for translation! So, long story short (ha! get it - I wrote too many words, again!) I stuck very closely to my pitch because A) it was a short story anyway, and B) because it was what had been approved by the stakeholders so deviating from it would have raised some questions.

I understand it has a visual indication of when she can recast it, and if the visual matched up perfectly that'd be great; but it doesnt. you have about a second after the claw goes away to recast. would assume it only counts as entering combat once the damage hits, as Karthus R doesn't do anything else (it doesn't even apply truesight) I might test some of this stuff today, but it's hard without another human person on the enemy team. I wanna figure it out though!

if im not mistaken, entering combat with a champion deactivates her passive. I believe a nocturne ulting counts as "entering champion combat" because it applies Nearsight, which is considered a form of crowd control. I dont know for sure, but I wouldnt think Twisted Fates R would reveal her TRUE form, because you dont enter combat when he activates it (as True Sight isnt crowd control or damage) could be wrong, as league is annoyingly inconsistent. just theorycrafting!

god. this is what ive fucking missed in league. this is what ive CRAVED. a post about how to outplay a champion, a post about a champions mechanics... I miss this shit in league man. the boards arent being flooded with "please god nerf neekos one shot burst," instead everyones like "how do neekos mechanics work in-depth???" its so so refreshing. i dont even slightly doubt this is a one-time farce for league, but ill enjoy it while it lasts.

: Thanks for the detailed reply! I'm definitely going to try a few other champions like Lux and Zyra with Dark Havest and see how they work out. To be honest Dota is definitely going to stay my main MOBA but I do enjoy coming back to League and seeing what's changed. It took me a long time, probably over 100 hours before I really "got" Dota. It's a fundamentally different game then League is, but I really enjoy how unique and interesting the characters are, and how diverse the item pool is. There is a ton of strategy that goes into team building and you can just as easily go for an early game stomp team or a late game team that has a few heroes that can delay the game so your cores can get online. I can completely understand why it would be hard to get into though, it took a buddy of mine prodding me along until I finally started loving it's complexity.
no problem :) If i can make someones life better by steering them clear of league im happy to I tried dota2 for a bit. the game feels a bit too... stiff for me. the champions dont feel as if they have anywhere near the level of detail or love applied to them as in league, and theyre almost always extremely simple to grasp with a few exceptions. perhaps i just didnt give it the time it needed to register with me. any ideas on how i might get started? i NEED to get away from league.

: A few questions from a Dota 2 player about game balance
hey man! first of all I wanna say, if you successfully made it away from league, please fucking stay away for your own sake. the game has legitimately just been getting worse and worse recently. but to answer your questions: 1. Yes, as of late it's fairly normal to get one-combod by Lucian at level 3. He's fairly disgusting right now, and has been for a little while. It makes no comprehensible sense for an ADC to literally kill someone in a combo at level 3 but hey, he usually can. 2. If you can, I would absolutely recommend playing a snowball champion. The game is in a massive snowball meta right now, with things like turret plating and league of Dark Harvest. (BY THE WAY: IF YOU CAN, PLAY A CHAMPION THAT CAN ABUSE DARK HARVEST. I legitimately see dark harvest on 3-8 people in every game; I saw it on 9 people in a recent one, though that was an extreme.) It's god tier right now, I've been taking it on Lissandra mid for about 30 games and it's the strongest I've EVER felt on her. An early lead can end a game before 20 minutes right now, so that's what I'd play for. 3. It is 100% absolutely the most viable option to pick a burst champion. Damage is king in league, but that's not really a recent thing. Picking anything but a burst champion has been kind of stupid since preseason 8. For instance; look at the newly added stat shards which replaced tree bonuses. You can start the game with either a total of 20 ad/20 ap, or a total of 10 armor/magic resist. Damage has just been inflated to such a disgusting degree, legitimately every champion has become a burst champion (with some doing it waaaay better. Again, go dark harvest.) Burst is essentially a rule of league right now that we've kind of had to live with. 4. This one made me laugh. I haven't had a game of League feel "close" in weeks, maybe a few months. That's simply just League. The only possibility you'll have of getting a close game where one side doesn't crush by 20 minutes is if NEITHER team picks a real ADC. Those are the only games where I've truly felt both sides had a chance, but that's very rare for people to do. (I'm talking like... Swain bot on one team and Rengar bot on the other; where you don't feel like it's a ticking time bomb as to who's carry will hit 1-shot auto attack god mode first.) Don't expect even games in league. You will ALWAYS be dissapointed. again, if you enjoy dota then stick with it. I personally hate it, and have been searching for literally anything to fill the void I'll have once I finally quit league. If you've found that, I'd recommend staying with it. Good Luck man

im going to read through this again later to really gather my thoughts (cause theres a lot of potential in this thing) but first: the short story was amazingly written. just beautifully done; it really gives cho'gath's presence a sense of dread. the story is a bit vague, but from what I gathered he was "born" out of the body of a dead god (more like attracted to our world by the god's death, but this was his 'birth" for all purposes) which really gives him this feeling that he SHOULDNT be here. like hes just wrong. and 2, have you written a chogath rework before? this seems familiar

: When I think of rek'sai, I don't think of her as a champion who would want to be in a long, extended fight. She either does her combo and gets you low enough to kill you, or just manages to chunk you and has to run away after. So if they change her passive, they could make it something that boosts that type of play style. For example, if she burrows at full fury, she gets a small movement speed buff and maybe some slow resistance as well. And if she is in the vicinity of a tunnel entrance that is open, the buff is increased if she moves towards it (so even more move speed and slow resistance.) This would help her either to continue chasing her prey by burrowing after her combo, or to get away after chunking a tankier target like a darius or illaoi.

I like her current kit waay better, but I think bruisers as a class should enjoy drawn out fights more. its also worth noting on whether we're talking about a small update or JUST reworking the passive and THATS IT. my theoretical passive change probably wouldve come with a few other teeny changes (like ezreals update) your passive idea is a good starting point, but I think its a bit too similar to Phase Rush. If you wanna make a passive that fits in with her current kit, perhaps keep the current healing-for-fury effect but buff the values a bit. then, make it so that if she reaches max fury; maybe she gets the movement speed you said, and the healing she gets once burrowed is buffed _significantly._ maybe even like... have her burrow cooldown reset to zero when she hits the maximum fury (as a small buff because I hate hate hate that her burrow cooldown is so long) and have the Max Fury healing come faster when she burrows. basically; that adds up to: hit max fury stacks, get a movespeed boost, get your burrow cooldown reset, and get really big healing when you do burrow. that'd help the in-and-out playstyle you suggested.

I say have her Fury interact with the rest of her kit, as it does with her E (which is my favorite mechanic about her.) It could be used to really solidify her identity as a bruiser that gets stronger the longer shes fighting. perhaps have her passive give her a reason to STAY fighting; reduce the current Fury gain to something much lower (like... 10 per auto attack or ability use? might be a bit low) and give her a new passive that triggers once she hits max Fury. Have her enter like a "blood rage" when she gets full, like old Aatrox, get a %Max HP/%Missing HP heal and a nice attack speed boost that quickly decays. if she activates her E while in this Fury State, it deals true damage. just an idea. literally ANYTHING is better than what shes got rn. Lissandras passive is a great example of what can be done for a champion with only small work
