: Full disclosure, I'm on Skins, so stuff that's pertaining to updates of the base champion (VFX, anims, etc.) are out of my wheelhouse and I don't wanna speak for the Champions/Live Gameplay teams. I wouldn't say that any particular team dislikes Katarina. She received some love in 2016 with the Assassin's update. In terms of skins themselves, she receives them pretty consistently, her last skin being in 2017 (and a Warring Kingdoms chroma earlier this year). Jumping off of that, since there isn't an update pending, she's still eligible for skins. Katarina, imo, is a bit tricky in terms of a legendary because her animations are super quick, so we weigh in with things like 'well how noticeable is this if we change it, what needs to be done to make it feel better/different?' and she (like most assassins), naturally lack piles of VFX when compared to someone like Lux, for example. *But*, she does have cool moments like Death Lotus or Preparation that I think could really be played up, especially when talking about a thematic like Star Guardian. Plus, legendary skins means new VO, which could be a lot of fun! Now for the bad news - like all other champions, I can't give you much more info than that she's eligible for a skin. I can't spill the beans on whether or not she has something in the works. (Even if I could, I wouldn't wanna ruin the surprise!)
Can I second asking you guys taking a look at Rengar and his skins? Been wanting to use Nighthunter as a break from Headhunter for a while, but I feel like I've been a bit cheated since there are particles/sounds missing on a skin that I shelled out 975 RP for...

: That's actually the only thing **Riot doesn't want**. See th**e problem** all along was the **infamous AA-Reset crit Rengar**. **Riot** is trying to** force** every class (in this case **Assasins**)** into a set of choosable item pool**, meaning no crit for Asssains at all. **The reason** for this is **so they can buff/nerf a group of Champions** without affecting the others. Let me give you an example: Remember when the** ADC's whined** (_I mean you can't because they do all the time_ )^**hehe** **because of** critical strike scaling and** the early snowballing of the bot lane** so they said that bot lane was a practical 'coinflip'? So they asked for a buff from Riot and most of the playerbase would come and argue with "but then Yasuo would be too op!" This situation is a pain for Riot where they are forced to buff every ADC individually **without changing the invidiual matchups on the bot lane**. This is almost impossible. Actually the balance on the bot lane wasn't the problem. The real problem was that** whoever ADC had the first kill would snowball out of control** because they would be able to afford B.F. Sword with first back while the other one would have a Pickaxe. The same thing goes on with AA reset Rengar.** If Lethality** items are too **weak** the** AA reset Rengar** would simply **switch to the half crit half lethality or even full crit** Rengar build. _For your information: You could do **3 fast auto attacks** with AA reset rengar (Ultimate AA, Q, Empowered Q)_. **Rengar** building **crit strike** would mean Rengar would **bypass the nerfs that were aimed for his class**. That is why Riot thinks that AA reset on Rengar is unhealthy.
If Riot thought that, then they wouldn’t have given him a free crit on his R that allows him to one-shot with the leap alone. It has nothing to do with the AA reset or being able to buff/nerf a class as a whole. If they remove the crit and give him the old Q back, I think he’d be fine to play. There are other changes that I’d like to see too (E.G. removing the free AD from bonetooth, changing ferocity back to 5 stacks and not decaying, completely redoing W, etc.), but the Q is the most important one to make him fun again, IMO.

: Rengar needs some serious work to make work, most of which is very difficult to figure out without a full revert. The Rioter that worked on Rengar does honestly believe this was a step in the right direction but he still needs work. How Riot could fix Rengar is really hard to say for sure and I really doubt any Rioter has a clear idea of how to go about it without rushing back to the drawing board like they did last time. They want to take their time and make sure they know what they are doing.
It wouldn't take a lot to make Rengar enjoyable again in his current state, like making his Q cancelable by Tiamat (like Renekton's) or even straight-up reverting Q (which would be my preferred option, but I'm sure people will flame me for saying it). It'd be nice if he even just got a tiny bit of short-term work while Riot works on his rework.

If you're gonna mention what rengar gets, you have to realize what twitch gets and the amount of times he can get it compared to rengar. rengar hops out of his stealth before getting detected and gets more movespeed. there is literally nothing wrong with rengars stealth dude lol. you literally CAN NOT make rengars ult any better than it is right now because he would become stupid broken as is evident in his history. what problem do you find with a 725 range leaping gap closer, 30 second stealth on an insanely short CD, getting true sight on the closest enemy within 4000 units, and 40% move speed? rengar has zero problems assassinating someone with his ult. if you really wnt to compare all we have to say is that rengar can hop on twitch and 1 shot him with {{item:3147}} and {{item:3031}} and call it a day. thats why you cant compare the two. eve doesnt have that luxury, she lost her move speed active. the only way she can even get move speed is if she hits a target with her stupidly short ranged E. rengar doesnt need to get into melee range with his stealth, he can hop at you from further than most ADCs can attack. eve NEEDS to get in melee range first.

It gives the enemy way too much time to prepare than is actually needed. The old one didn't turn up until too late, but this one is just ridiculous. Like another poster said, if you ult at dragon, the enemy bot lane will get an indicator at their tier 2 tower, which is just stupid. If it alerted EVERYONE like Nocturne's or Twisted Fate's ult, that would be a better trade-off, imo, but what we have now is perhaps too much counterplay for his ult. The range should be reduced to something more reasonable or everyone on the enemy team should have the indicator on them when Rengar ults.
: Joke's on you, Rengar is a diver now, not an assassin. :^) Sorry, but I had to, since that is how it is now. He is classified as a diver, not an assassin. And in my opinion, that even makes sense.... One point many people mentioned in the past is that Rengar, unlike most of his fellows, doesn't really have a great escape. He goes in with ult and mostly will stay in. He has a defensive tool with his heal. And his overall kit is more suited for extended fights instead of bursting enemies down in a milisecond. And it makes sense from the lore point of view, too. He is a hunter searching for a challenge, it kinda makes sense that he is a fighter instead of an assassin now. Because surprising someone and instantly killing him is no challenge. Having a long lasting fight to death feels more like that.
Glass cannon Rengar has kind of always been his thing though, but whether he's diver or assassin doesn't matter — it's still no excuse to have an ability that feels as bad as his Q does now.

: Na it's not that much. Camouflage zone is standard to 700 units. The 2000/3000/4000 is the max range he can reach camouflaged. For example 3000 range is Jhin W I think... So you're wrong about that. Furthermore Rengar's leap range is 725 so it' s a bit higher than the camouflage range.
The radius on his ult is the range on the indicator/alert, not how far he can travel. The duration IS increased with level (12/16/20 seconds), but if the radius was actually how far he could travel, it would grow when you use something that increases movespeed like Ghostblade active. It deals less damage than an AA early game and it basically roots you to use it. An assassin shouldn't have an ability that feels clunky and unsatisfying to use like that.

I've been a Rengar main since Season 3. The old one was undoubtedly more fun to play, but lacked counterplay, which the rework solved, but at the cost of making him feel clunky and less fun to play. Here's my thoughts on your suggestions: >Ferocity system: I think it is fine. I would just like that you could store your ferocity bit longer than 6 seconds Honestly they should revert ferocity back to the old system, but just make it so that you lose all your stacks when ulting. You had to land your skills with the old system to get stacks, the new one takes that away. The current system gives him less depth and rewards bad play, imo. >Q: Make it like it used to work. Second auto attack. But just make it a bit weaker and remove the attack speed boost from empowered Q. Removing attack speed from Q is probably enough, imo, he shouldn't have high DPS after using his abilities. Could also maybe hit the AD ratio on empowered Q if needed. >W: It deals more dmg to monsters (for a clearing) and it heals you like it used to heal before the rework Your W sounds good, the current one has far too much power in it and isn't fun to play against. Reduce the range of the alert by say 500 units or so, remove the crit, and call it a day.
