As Nasus moved closer to Ravencroft, the floor cracking with each step, the thugs backed up a bit firing at the Ascended giant, all Nasus did in response was swipe them aside with his axe, step on them and blow them off with his own sandstorm. It would not take long for both Nasus and Warwick to make their way to Ravencroft, but no matter the ferocity Warwick used to get through the thugs, Nasus would pick up the cowering Chem-Baron in his hand threatening to crush him. Ravencroft struggled to get out but gave up saying, "So this is the power of an Ascended, incredible...you would have made a fine addition to my collection." Nasus merely stared and said in a booming voice, **"Your stealing of the artifacts of the past ends here, what you took this day could have brought ruin to all of Runeterra, so by the authority of Shurima, your life is forfeit! Any last words..."** Ravencrofts last words were, "Say thank you to my tipper, Aster for me..." he said with a smile, before Nasus crushed him and let his limp body fall into the abyss of Zaun. once everything was done and Ravencrofts men either scattered or were hunted down, Nasus reverted to his normal self, retrieved his cloak, told the slaves it was safe to leave and directed them to find an authority figure and tell them their plight. Nasus put on his cloak and approached Warwick, "Thank you, Warwick, your deeds today have saved the lives of not only Zaun, but of all of Runeterra, however I have one more matter to tend to..." The look in Nasus' eyes were determined and for lack of a better term angry..."whether you follow or not is up to you, I have a museum to visit..." What hand did Aster have in this? whatever it was, he knew he felt something...off about the man...

Nasus would then leave Drogon to gather some supplies to cauterize Drogon's wound, a small piece of metal from one of the braziers situated on each of the bookshelf rows, a strip of leather for Drogon to bite down on and finally a miniature brazier to heat the metal. Handing him the leather strip Nasus would say, "Know I am not a doctor my friend, this is merely temporary until I get you to Nashramae to see a proper doctor or to find what you need for your tonic. Now let me see the extent of your wounds..." Nasus would then, with assistance from Drogon when necessary disrobe him to find out to what extent the wounds he received are.

No choice left he nodded to Warwick's plan, "Very well, but our "gracious host" is to face judgment by my axe." before Warwick initiated the attack, Nasus gave the order to the slaves to stay put, one they happily agreed to as the Ascended warrior stepped through the door. As Warwick made his move, Ravencroft's men watched in fear as The Howler got a running start to leap behind their lines, the only impediment they did in this moment was fire automatic rounds at Warwick, but he would be able to do as he wanted and land behind their ranks and tear them to shreds, all before the Ascended even stepped through the door, "Horse tranquilizers, now!" Ravencroft shouted to his men as they readied their rifles and trained them not on Nasus, but Warwick. Nasus quickly acted by summoning a Spirit Fire below a good number of the tranquilizer group, burning them to cinders as what could only be described as the heat of the sun erupted under them, the three survivors got farther away from the circle before retraining their rifles on Warwick, one would fall to the floor, withering to nothing as Nasus Withered the poor soul, his body going through a grotesque transformation from skin and bones to a pile of dust where he once stood, this startled one of the riflemen so much, he backed away off the bridge into the chasm below. With one left the rifleman took his shot on Warwick, the dart plunging itself into Warwick's hide, how it would take effect was another story. Ravencroft's panic was evident, he was caught between The Howler and an Ascended, needless to say he was trapped, "FIRE FIRE FIRE!!!" Ravencroft cried out, "But Boss you said no bullets in the Ascended." Ravencrofts response, throwing him off the bridge, "Any'von Else!!!" a sea of shakes resounded throughout the group, "Z'en FIRE!!!, take out Z'e Ascended and put down Z'at Howler!" as commanded one group fired upon Nasus and another group fired at Warwick. Nasus merely walked at a brisk pace, twirling his axe to deflect some of the shots, others embedding themselves into his flesh or skim past it. Nasus had had enough, this man thought to make a trophy of not just him but his brother, with a roar that resounded throughout the chasm, Nasus grew to double his size, towering over the mortals that stood in his way, his fur darkening to jet black, his eyes bright red and a powerful sandstorm swept around him, the men stopped firing, out of fear and trying to steady themselves, even Ravencroft knew...they were done...
: The Great Library of Shurima (Ask Nasus)
Nasus momentarily left the library to check on the tower that he had used as his home for the centuries after Shurima's fall. It was well kept for an ancient tower, standing tall, overlooking Shurima's vast desert from it's high perch. Nasus stepped inside to gather his more preserved forbidden scrolls as well as his favorite ones, not to add to the great libraries halls, not yet...he had to study what had just transpired on his latest trip to Piltover and Zaun...

As Warwick spoke with Ravencroft, he simply replied, "Oh? he has his book does he not?" Nasus leaned in and said, "I do, but for taking this artifact you have nearly doomed Runeterra and for that you will face judgement..." Ravencroft merely states, "Then I'm sure you should see to z'e person who found it in Z'e first place, v'at v'as his name again...? Aster Tremaine..." Nasus merely scowled, "I'll deal with it in due time, but for now I wish to know what you would have gained from this before I put you to death myself..." Nasus, fury evident in his eyes slammed his fist upon the earpiece, breaking it and the wood beneath it. "There are too many to take on by ourselves and we can't risk endangering the slaves..." Nasus said to Warwick, the Age old Tactician thinking up a plan to get out of this.

Nasus rose an eyebrow, "so you know my kind, how?" the Assassin shrugged, "just what my boss told me, gods among men." "Demi-gods." Nasus Corrected, "I have great power gifted to me by Father Sun, but in no way do I shape the course of reality, nor am I by any means invincible." The Assassin held her head in an attempt to keep her head from throbbing, Light fracture or bad one, either way manageable. Nasus sighed, "I see no reason to force the information out of you, you will keep your information no matter what either me or Warwick do, meaning you would stall long enough for your Boss, as you call him, to come to us." The Assassins jaw dropped, he knew..."No one would show off this artifact to auction and set an absurd price, as if it was there just to entice, not sell." Nasus explained, pacing in front of the Assassin. The Assassin sat there stunned until, "Remove Z'e ear piece..." Complying the Assassin set her ear communicator down beside her. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance gentlemen." The voice from the ear piece said, While Warwick never met the man personally (because he's a big coward), he would recognize the voice as Ravencroft himself...

Let me start off this post by saying, my sincerest apologies for my lack of posting motivation, it has nothing to do with any of the people here, its just been challenging for me to make time to get on the computer lately to post. I absolutely enjoy being the resident Jackal headed Ascended and void bug, I really do, but it is starting to get to a point where it's really difficult to just sit down and do stuff for me, with other things taking my focus away (Taking on so many tasks does such) I'll figure out a proper schedule one of these days, but until then thank you all for your patience. > [{quoted}](name=Frontlinegeneral,realm=NA,application-id=jxzFAe03,discussion-id=RXXYOpal,comment-id=0038000100000000,timestamp=2018-09-11T21:56:01.961+0000) >Nasus was sifting through his own mind actually, trying to pull a mental book on ailments, but still works. "I can only hope, there has to be something on Runeterra to help free my Brother of his metaphorical chains, it's just a matter of finding it..." Nasus said in response to Razna's hopeful words, "But, I understand, if you will not hesitate to strike Renekton down when it comes to it, neither will I, but I must try to reach him, somehow..." Nasus then proceeded to wait to see what Razna remembered of Setaka and how she took the news of an heir to Azir and let her speak her piece before chiming in, "Whatever fate is to come for Shurima, it is tied to Azir and his sole heir. While even I dare not to thrust this fate unto her, I will try my best to guide her, once I find her, before Xerath can." Nasus walked to the doors of the library, looking out to the vast sea of sand, "As a tactician I see the benefits of her joining our cause, as a Warrior I see the worth in her as a Ruler of Shurima, but as me, I would not force this destiny upon her, but would guide her hand should she so choose." When Razna's words of Noxus was brought up, He looked to her and said, "We need not worry about Noxus yet, for now we have our own battle to fight, a kingdom against a betrayer, only until it is won will we deal with Noxus." When she cleared her throat and subsequently spoke of taking her leave, Nasus bowed and said to her, "Of course, if ever you have need of my advice, do not hesitate to visit me." Nasus thought for a moment then spoke up before Razna left, "There is a young man in Nashramae, he visited the Library once and has visited many times while I was cleaning this place and offered to help me any way he could for allowing him to take a look at the books I had at the time, if you are ever busy but need advice from me ask for Ka'lin ((best I got)) and he'll help deliver your message to me when he visits." his offer given Nasus saw Razna off, "May Father Sun guide your path friend." Nasus said silently to himself as Razna began to disappear over the dunes, he then turned back into the Library and looked upon the statue of himself, with a Baccai of old now a part of the empire again, what would it mean for the rest? would they be welcomed as equals or would they still be seen as cursed ones? only time would tell for Nasus, but he had many important matters to attend to. ((With that, I hope you enjoyed the RP despite the wait! Now Razna has a special means to reach Nasus through letters if she so wishes, this is a special Courier of a sort that will write up a message according to Razna's exact words and bring it to Nasus and will only apply to those who Nasus trusts. This will apply to those who get a mention of him through Nasus and will act as a set Courier to Nasus rather than a random one (those of whom can still reach him) and will recieve a reply from him in Nashramae.))

But now was the time for the ascended to get serious, reaching for the collar of his robes Nasus removed the disguise, revealing the armor and axe that resided beneath, with a flourish, Nasus unhooked the axe from his back and twirled it before resting it at his side, looking like the many statues that depicted him from museums and in ruins. From the shadows as her accomplice dealt with The Howler, she spoke into her built in communicator, "Boss he's here, just like the tip said..." "Good...keep Z'em busy, make sure Z'e Ascended and book are intact for when I arrive and dispose of Z'at meddling Howler." with a click the call ended, "yes sir..." the assassin assessed the surroundings, the howler was occupied with her accomplice, who as the grab went through kicked the Howler square in the jaw with her metal leg and followed up with a shot to his left shoulder and then two successive kicks to his face trying to keep distance from Warwick, but keeping his eyes on her. the Ascended stood patiently waiting for the knife bearing assassin to appear, the wound that she had caused was already closing and it was a pretty good gash too it would close in ten seconds maybe less if she didn't take initiative now. Without time to lose she did what had led to the deaths of many skilled targets, she threw one knife at the Ascended and as he would block or dodge it, come in for a slash then grab the thrown knife then slice their throat. But it did not go as planned, to her surprise the ascended took the knife to the shoulder and she was mid attack leaping into a fully aware opponent that grabbed her by both wrists with one hand, "interesting strategy, but it leaves you without one of your weapons." Nasus said to the assassin who replied, "I only need one!" Kicking the knife in Nasus' shoulder the Ascended let go to remove the knife, leaving the assassin to take advantage by attempting to do what she intended to do in the first place, slicing his neck open. But once again she underestimated her opponent, Nasus stopped the knife with his hand, the knife protruding from the opposite side, his face was contorted in pain but showed no signs of yielding to it, much to the assassin's horror as she knew at that moment she was done, Nasus closed his fist around the assassins hand and with a swift motion elbowed her head in.

"Your path diverges from the stream curator, but every river finds its way to the ocean in time. I have faith that you will be there for Shurima, for its emperor." She looked over the great library her halfways grim expression only adding to her train of thought. "Beware of the past, curator. it has a tendency to consume one. Our memories are our greatest strength and weakness. We both know what must be done, but the past remains unchanged. All our errors, the rights and wrong. It's overwhelming at times." Pausing to lose the borderline pretentiousness on her tongue she offered a warm smile, it was inherently broken by the way her form was, but it carried with itself confidence that inspired her voice. "I am not just a priest, I am also an excellent listener. Breaking down centuries of memories is no simple task if I can ever lend help, or just an ear will be there for you, Nasus of Shurima." Gesturing to him with a hand Razna mused openly to the curator. "What do you believe our focus should be on curator? Rebuilding the line of the priesthood will be no easy task, only those with the blood of greatness carried with them will rebuild the order of the sun. But it will be done, we face a difficult task. Uniting Shurima under one banner, make them all hear the word of the emperor and follow the true path." "You must have seen our people in these ages, scrounging for scraps and no longer following the true path in some cases. How will we bring them under the wing of Azir's rule? It is my duty to oversee that the word of our religion spread across all four corners of Shurima and beyond, but I am ignorant of the workings of this age. Not all will embrace his return, I expect violence and heretics to rise in defiance as Azir's word spreads." "But those that will listen. We mustn't lose them. What would your first course of action be, curator?"

But Warwick would recognize a symbol on their shoulders, confirming his suspicion of the benefactor, the symbol of Chem-Baron Talius Ravencroft, an Ancient Shurima enthusiast that goes far for his artifacts, extortion, theft, murder, all of them done by his underlings, never himself and these women were most likely the thieves that were skilled enough to steal the book in the first place.

A golden book? Now if that wasn't just tacky, the beast didn't know what was then, but by the sound of things he needed that thing out of Zaun. He didn't know much on legends from other city states or other places, only just a general known concept. Ionia suffering a heavy attack from Noxus, the rivalry between Noxians and Demacians, Bilgewater being a cesspool of crime, and Shurima was... Well, he had some concept of knowledge, but Bastet filled him in on the Ascended. They were pretty much walking gods, and this guy set his fur bristling constantly, so that power in a baron's hands, or even a maniac in Zaun? That was hell for everyone... Listening to Nasus' plan, Warwick looked over the scene. He hated following orders from others, but he was willing to push aside pride to get this book out of here. However, he had a suspicion on just who might be orchestrating this, the benefactor... However, now was not the time for thinking, because now... Now he could kill! He grinned, glad to be able to sate the bloodlust at last, before bringing his claws down into fists upon the glass panels, sending shards falling across the room like a hailstorm. With a roar, he dived down, landing on the first disoriented operator, sinking his teeth in and tearing his jugular out with one clean bite, roaring once more! "KILLLLLLLL! SCREAMS!" And like that, the screaming began, and the sheep began to run, with the beast right behind them. Warwick leapt upwards, slamming on down onto the next operator, severing his head as well as a few major ligaments with one heated slash from his right pneumatic claw. He roared, digging his claws beneath the turret and slowly raising it upwards, right before holding it above his head and LAUNCHING it across the warehouse and into the next turret, sending an explosion of dangerous chemicals and shrapnel, even a few limbs and tattered strips of flesh. One of the operators attempted to man his turret, the machine whirling up and launching a ball of acid directly at Warwick. The beast leapt above the blast, rushing towards the charging cannon, and just as it was about to release another acidic payload, he slammed his claws beneath the barrel, severing it there and setting off a chain reaction within the machine and sending an explosion once more! "Wa-wait! I wa-as paid! Please!" The man begged, launched off the machine and slowly crawling away, trying to save himself before the beast's feet dug into his back, sinking his claws deep. He screamed in pain, clawing at the ground with his fingernails, his expression hidden beneath his chemical mask. He was about to beg right before a series of claw strikes came down, slashing away at him and ripping him apart then and there. Warwick reared his head back, his body covered in blood that drenched his fur in certain areas. He pulled his fists back, curling his biceps and releasing a blood curdling howl, chasing after the remaining stragglers who hadn't managed to escape. What happened to them could only be described as quick, yet also disgusting.

The tale went on to tell of the search for the creature only to feel a greater disturbance at the capitol, its denizens and emperor gone, destroyed by the traitor Xerath who's power had grown unfathomable, a being of pure arcane energy. The brothers fought Xerath for what felt like hours, until they took the fight to the beasts Sarcophagus in an attempt to seal him away, only for him to break the Sarcophagus to pieces, pieces still present on him to this day. Renekton then grabbed hold of Xerath and bore him into The Tomb of the Emperors below the Capitol, wanting Nasus to seal him and Xerath into the tomb for eternity, Nasus refused, but he could find no other option and with a heavy heart sealed his only brother into the tomb alongside Xerath. After that day, the sands consumed the Capitol, the sun disc devoid of magic, fell from its place above the city and without it, the rivers of Shurima ran dry, bringing death and famine to the land. His tale done, Nasus paused in silent grief before continuing, "I blamed myself, for all of it, the brother I loved sealed away for eternity with the traitor, I saw myself unfit to be Shurima's Curator and exiled myself, until the Capitol rose again.

BTW, I was mostly figuring this scene out, but I got it planned out now. "Keep quiet. Keep hidden. They'll run before we catch," His words were short, an obvious sign of the beast, but otherwise Warwick once more lead the way. He had taken many paths, a few Nasus might even find surprising considering one of their paths took them underneath the Sump itself. Once they arose, the sewer line was filled to the brim with chemicals, splooge, and a couple of dozens aged corpses, some full skeletons at that point, they would find themselves within a few warehouses built into the canyon walls of Zaun. One of these warehouses was guarded by heavily armed goons, one holding a chemical weapon in hand, and the other wielding a spear of sorts fashioned with junk and such. The way he held it though said otherwise about their skill level. Warwick motioned for Nasus to follow him, and with a leap, hopped right atop the warehouse in one fell swoop. He motioned for the Ascended to stay there, because as soon as he leapt down once more, the guards attempted to act with the large beast in front of them. He tore them apart without a second thought, snapping the spearman's neck with a simple grab, and slamming the other's skull into the ground, stomping on it for good measure and sending fragments of bone and brain matters across the pavement. With a snarl, he hopped atop the warehouse, a ladder on the side for Nasus should he need it. "There's the auction. Where's your artifact?" Warwick asked once the Ascended was with him, looking down through one of the open vents. Down beneath them their was a bare warehouse with security, mostly men wielding junk pieces, but there was also two chem-turrets housed on the back of the warehouse, right where the items were guarded and being presented at on stage. A well dressed gentleman was presenting a line of slaves, scantily clad women in rags at this point, while men raised their cards up and women scoffed in general. Warwick's claws were practically bending the metal in hand, snarling as his eyes shifted into their bloody state. "Where is your book!? I need to kill! Need to hunt! Need to make bleed!" Once the slaves were sold off, they were taken to the back where they would be kept waiting to be given until the auction was over. The finely dressed gentleman clapped his hands, having a pair of brutishly large men, mutants by the look of things, drag out their next piece... What could it be?

Once they arrived at the warehouses, Nasus took note of the guards and immediately went into tactician mode, gauging the amount of guards their skill level, which even by Nasus' standards was...appalling. After Warwick made short work of the guards and lowered a ladder, Nasus joined him in spying on the auctions. Once told to do so, Nasus scanned the Auction through and through for any trace that the book might be included, so far he only saw the women being sold as slaves, seems it was still ongoing even in this era, albeit illegally, during the times before its fall, Shurima had slaves for hard labor and a statement of power, Nasus had no opinion on slavery in the past as it was so common, but he had known slaves who wanted to learn from his library and couldn't because of their masters. Even despite his hatred for the traitor Xerath who he himself was a slave to be set free along with the rest, Nasus bore no ill thinking on slaves and were it not for the destruction Xerath's treachery caused he would have supported Azir's decree long through his reign. But now wasn't the time to dwell on the matter, the book had to be retrieved no matter the cost, once the proceedings for the slaves was done, the auctioneer clapped his hands and two mutants dragged out a cloth covered peice, "Ladies and Gentlemen," the man began, "We have a special item to reveal to you all today, one that was...acquired by a very special benefactor of ours, while this item is not for sale as the same benefactor has given us an exceptional, fifty-thousand cogs," the crowd gasped in amazement while some gave grunts for being slighted from whatever this item was, "he was able to give you all the chance to beat his price, so without further ado, behold! The Gold Book of the Ascended!" at that the cloth was removed and the gold book illuminated the room in a radiance of light that would almost blind even Nasus from the sudden revelation of light. A series of sounds of admiration resounded through the crowd, they wanted it, but couldn't beat the price...Nasus meanwhile scoffed at the naming of the book, "That isn't it's name..." Nasus said pinching the bridge between his eyes in irritation, now The Secrets of the Universe would be forever known to these people as The Gold Book of the Ascended...snapping out of his distress, he addressed Warwick, "If we are to retrieve it, you will have to follow my plan, the operators of those mounted guns are disoriented, use the time to take them out while I distract the guards. We have precious seconds hurry!" with that he would wait for Warwick to snap into initiating his half of the plan in any way he sees fit, stealthily or otherwise, and Nasus would take action by dropping down and simply walking to the book as guards swarmed him, only to be batted aside, or killed by a wither or a hard punch through the chest, one being unfortunate enough to understand how an owl looks around. ((Note: the benefactor isn't there...yet, I'll introduce the guy later, but Warwick would have a nameless hunch as to who it is with such a high bid on a Shuriman artifact.))

When Razna spoke up, he again felt nostalgic and impressed at the combination of old and current Shuriman languages, it was odd to translate but doable. When she finished speaking, Nasus smiled and kneeled to eye level with Razna and said to her in fluid ancient Shuriman, "Razna, Sun Priestess of Shurima, as an Ascended warrior of Shurima, your help is very much welcomed. Though your form carries with you scars of eagerness, it also tells of your strength to bear this scar and be there for Shurima and her people, that in itself speaks volumes about who you are." Warwick would lead Nasus through dozens of alleyways and tunnels at times, making the trip around five to fifteen minutes considering Warwick kept a decent pace so that the Ascended didn't lose track of him. He didn't doubt his power, a dangerous one for sure, but he also doubted the fact he could keep up when he was a fish in water in the middle of a city he had never truly traveled, not fully. Outsiders may know public spots, but the real juicy bits were in the shadows and away from the public. It was why a majority of a time that most crimes were always so secluded and almost stealthy, however the messes most criminals left were easy trails for Warwick, even a silent killing. Just what did this guy mean by new? Zaun has been here for ages... The alchemical monster leaped from rooftop to rooftop, soon arriving at a large yard right by the very edges of Zaun, near the harbors. It was right by the edge though where they would find a pile of wrecked boats torn asunder and held together by knots all around. "SLIM! Get out here," Warwick snarled, and a pair of golden eyes with black pupils could be seen underneath one of the boats. *"WH-haaaaaat d-d-do ya want, dawg?"* "I need information. Don't pull this compensation shit since I bailed your ass from Grimlock's gang, remember? That's a free favor you owe me and I'm apparently cashing in. I need information on some kind of recently stolen artifacts from Piltover. Anything like that going on, or any words?" Warwick asked, crossing his arms and snarling, definitely one not meant for patience at all. *"Yeah, I 'eard from one of mah, homies, that they caught wind of something like dat goin' down under at the auctions. Eh, should be there, dawg, 'ut ya gotta find 'em yourselves. I gave ya info, but... pl-eeeeaaaaaaase,"* He sounded rather pathetic and Warwick growled, grabbing a few cogs from his pocket and tossing them to the boat, and just as suddenly as they were tossed, a long slimy tongue shot out and caught them, reeling them back in with a loud ribbit. Warwick turned to Nasus and began climbing upwards, looking down to Nasus and motioning for him to follow him. "Let's go. If he's near the auctions he's either gonna sell or he's gonna meet. Those places are good for making trades or meeting up with others when you got so many fuckers buying weapons and slaves."

It had come a long way since the catastrophe that created what it was now, he was there and remembered as plain as day the earthquake, the parting of the land itself, the gas that now had permeated above the heads of the people of Zaun. Soon they arrived at the what he assumed to be a ramshackle house, the occupant a mysterious figure known as Slim, Nasus paid close attention to the exchange of words between the two mutants, an illegal Auction was as good a place to look as any. with the exchange done, Nasus next said, "Then we must make haste, Lead the way." ((I'll let you set the scene.))
: _To The Curator of the Sands,_ My name is https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WTVc7bUIoWLO73mBB_T5NRtXa_SOpi6KOYjCfdtRRkc/edit?usp=sharing, I bring news to you honored one, though I am confident you may already have been informed I am a baccai once maddened and broken but now reforged by the healing waters of the sacred Oasis. I have been given purpose by mother desert and a newfound voice by our shared emperor Azir. The transition has not been easy; our people are not convinced I am not who I claim to be. I aim to restore our ways as a priestess of the sun which I why I seek your guidance honored one. I will be arriving in a week unless you deny my presence, it is understandable but not entirely surprising considering my history. -Razna, priestess of the sun. --- Indeed a week later in the middle of the day a creature though still broken in her appearance approached the great library, her burden was heavy but her stance was proud not unlike the ancient priests of Shurima. Slowly but surely she halted inside the library seeking the ascended that lied within.

I had to brainstorm about Nasus' views on Baccai and as a result waited for longer than expected. Nasus looked the letter over, Razna...It had been a long time since he had seen that name. While he had heard her name in the past, he had never met the one who was known as 'The Shamed' by the people of Ancient Shurima. Nasus had felt pity for Baccai in the past, still did in fact, their bodies amalgamations of what could have been, a scar forever bored by them of their eagerness to receive Father Sun's gift. His inner thinking done, Nasus picked up a piece of Papyrus and a quill and began penning his response. To Razna, Priestess of the Sun I am very pleased to hear of your return and renewed purpose to Shurima and her people, as such I am honored to teach you the ways of the Sun Priest's and Priestess' of old, However I will divulge that the scriptures of old have either withered with age or have been taken by those who now either share this knowledge with others or for their own benefit. In short, I will have to give you the teachings myself, I look forward to your visit as I do all who seek knowledge from the halls of The Great Library. Sincerely Nasus, The Curator of the Sands --- His message sent, Nasus awaited the arrival of Razna, passing the time by reading the 'Lessons of Peace' until finally he noticed the Shadow of Razna upon the floor from the open door. Putting a specialized bookmark on the page he left off on, he put it down and rose to greet her, "Welcome Miss Razna, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." he said with a Shuriman Empire's bow that had not been used for an age. ((Note: this will be taking place, before the realization the artifacts were stolen.))

What’s so important about it? Worth a lot of cogs here or is it magical?” Warwick knew they were wasting time and had already decided that he would aid this foreigner. He didn’t like to play nice, especially with people he didn’t know, which was everybody. However, bringing someone like this guy here meant he might have big connections that would interfere with his business in Zaun, making it difficult to kill the monsters in his city if they all hid once word got out that the Pilties might arrive. The beast wanted to make sure he knew what he was dealing with, but if he was sidetracked or found that the creature before him refused to answer, he would let it go. “I’ll help you, but as soon as it is, you get outta here, got that? Somehow, someone found out the secret to opening the sealed room and took both of the artifacts, showing one of them off at the Museum in Piltover and subsequently stolen." Nasus pulled the hood over his head again, "Admittedly I know not the direction to take in this city, it was much more...new when last I was here..." once they got on the move, Nasus would follow Warwick to whatever destination he had in mind.

So far, all he saw was someone that could be a mutant from Zaun, or a fucked up cousin of his if you wanted to go there. “Now answer me... What the fuck are you doing in my city and what are you here for? I doubt people like you come all the way from Shurima just for sight seeing. When he was next addressed as to his presence in the city, Nasus mentally weighed the consequences of telling him the situation before settling on telling him to a degree, "I have come in search of an ancient artifact that was taken from my library and subsequently stolen from the Piltover Museum by a rather skilled thief. I came here to gather information from the criminal underground of Zaun, as directed and hopefully ahead of the Piltover authorities as they finish their investigations. It’s Zaun...” A gruff voice said, and suddenly a blur was running stop the rooftops, surrounding Nasus as it traveled through in a wide circle, no clear view of who it was that spoke. Nasus was only surrounded by those thugs by entering the vacant lot before him, usually home to most cocky teens and such who wanted to be a... badass. Most of these teens were smart enough to play bad but never truly, however those boys... They would definitely be threatened, only once, before it was their choice to either give it all up and find some other occupation... Or end up as the Howler’s meal. Now, usually Warwick wouldn’t bother with someone defending himself, but the scent... The presence... It wasn’t human, not even close. Human smells were very distinct, and believe it or not, held something that could be compared to normalcy in someway. However, he would not for one second ever let an inhuman scent roam his city without clearing things with him first. This was his city. His territory. His hunting grounds. This was Warwick’s home. “Now, I would have left you be, but something about you says not to.” The figure suddenly paused, standing underneath an arch in the middle of the night, releasing s vicious howl that echoed throughout the area. Whatever stragglers lay were already out, and were already running. Warwick’s Body was revealed for a split second before he leapt atop the arch to the lot, standing there and staring curiously. “So, get rid of the disguise and reveal who you are. That’s a demand. Try anything and I’ll rip your throat out quicker then you can blink.” He said with a snarl directed toward this strange being before him.

Nasus had heard of the...unrestricted experiments that were done in Zaun, but this...whatever the creature once was probably had little choice to be what he was now. When the creature howled, Nasus despite fear not being on the forefront of his mind due to ascension, felt the urge to take to defense rather than steel himself for a fight, but he held his ground. He felt power in the beast's howl and a great one at that, but he had no time to fight the creature. Choosing the non-violent route, he obliged the creature's demand, lifting the cowl away from his face he revealed his Jackal headed visage, armor out of place in the streets of Zaun covering the top of his head and the back of his neck, "Very well creature, I am Nasus Ascended warrior of Shurima." Nasus said to the creature with such power, he might as well have seemed like a king to Warwick, "Now it is my turn to ask, Who is it that stands between me and my duty?" he said, not out of annoyance, but of his own brand of Curiosity.
: "Zaun will fight back!" Ask Warwick, The Uncaged Wrath of Zaun
((Hello, just posting to say that the post is done, (probably should have alerted that it was, when it was initially done but oh well.) feel free to check it out when you get the chance.)) ((Note: this isn't a get to it post, or you missed it post. just a friendly letting you know.))
: "Zaun will fight back!" Ask Warwick, The Uncaged Wrath of Zaun
The robed form of Nasus descended into Zaun on one of it many lifts, he looked upon the city under a city. He admired how the people of Zaun built a city for themselves in such a place as this. But now wasn't the time to sightsee, right now he had an important matter to attend to...with the help of the PPD, Nasus learned that the theft of the book was an organised theft, the glaring detail that led him here however, was a mixture used only in Zaun. As the lift stopped, Nasus brushed passed the mortals and looked about the city of Zaun. it's glass coverings of walkways to and fro, as well as some buildings placed procariously amongst the walls of the crack in the earth and of course, the infamous Grey the cloud of poisonous air looming over the city, threatening to choke the life out of any who breathe it in, Nasus had experienced the effects firsthand when the calamity happened, even with his Ascended healing, the cloud threatened to choke the life out of his lungs, corrode every fiber of his body and all manner of horrors. He was lucky that the wind spirit saved everyone when she did, or else Nasus and many others would have perished. Nasus walked through the throngs of people, continuing on with their daily routines, only the children and overtly curious paying any heed to the robed figure. As he made his way to the underbelly of Zaun, Nasus thought back to the Museum again, not of the crime scene, but the ancient disembodied chant he heard resonate in his skull when the mortal who found the book entered the fray. Who was he? and how did he know of the Secret that lied in the bowls of the Library? Even with the concealing magic that he and an old Ascended comrade placed on it...this thought would have to wait, as he was soon interupted by the presence of thugs, that thought him an easy target due to his seemingly decrepid form. "Whad'ya think your do'in here old man?" The seeming leader of this gang of thugs said in a rather...crude manner of speaking..."Pass'in through? Got lost on yo' way to the store?" All fifteen of The Thugs lauged, "I am searching for someone that posesses what I seek, Something of utmost importance." The Thug leader merely walked casualy around Nasus with a Shrug, "Well if you need it so bad, We might be willin' to help fo' say...All the Cogs on ya'" Nasus's hooded form merely stared at the man, "I don't have time for this..." Nasus said under his breath, before attempting to walk away only to be blocked by the other thugs, "Now, now, where do ya' think yo' goin' old man, it's rather dangerous around 'ere." Nasus was progressively becoming annoyed by this man's use of words, "I am fully capable of protecting myself, besides even if you were to help me, your broken english suggests that you have not the slightest clue how to defend yourself..." A chourus "OHHHHH!" sounded throughout the other thugs, the Leader obviously annoyed ran up to Nasus, Drawing his knife and Hissed his words through gritted teeth, "Oh I'm so gonna enjoy breakin' yo' bones old man, because now you'll need to pay fo' protection FROM ME!!!" With suprising speed, Nasus knocked the knife out of the leader's hand and lifted him up by his neck effortlessly, the leader choking as he was raised to Nasus's eye level. The others not knowing what to do stood there stunned as their leader was held up effortlessly, "Like I said, I can take care of myself..." he said to the leader, "Now tell me, are there any theives among this city **capable** of stealing an artifact from the Piltover museum." The leader was able to say, "Why...Don't ya' go to he-ACHHH" Nasus kept him from finishing his insult, "I guess not..." Nasus merely said as he threw the man aside to his comrades, Who he ran away alongside, as soon as he caught his breath and did a rather obsecene gesture to him, "Rather expected..." he mumbled to himself.

Once opened the letter would read, >Azir >I write to you now under dire circumstances, the artifacts of old that were sealed away under The Great Library, have gone missing. The Scepter of Burhan and 'The Secrets of the Universe' book by Zellrok, The Wise. If these artifacts are sighted, they are to be contained immediately, I have set out to the city known as Piltover to discern if an exhibited book they are unveiling is Zellrok's book. I will inform you on the matter as it goes, in the meantime stay alert, you will be able to feel the presence of the scepter, due to the souls trapped inside. >Nasus, The Curator of the Sands

To know that Tulak was of such power, such skill, and such wisdom... It made sense that he was the one to unite them all, and he was sure that if he had waged war on the capital... He would have done it, with, or without, those powers. He looked up to Nasus and gave a firm nod. “Thank you, Ascended Nasus, and may the sun smile upon you and your path. However, I do not mean that. You forge your path, not any sort of deity or luck. I will remember your words fornicate years to come, and maybe then I might find this successor... Maybe one day.” He said softly as he turned around, walking away. However, as he left, Nasus would see something hovering over Qymaen, floating above him was a spirit with one side being red and the other side being blue. It had snarling jaws, canine like really, full of razor sharp teeth but it had no eyes, simple intricate lines over its head with but three single eyes lined in a row, each one glaring at Nasus, a set of four arms with razor sharp claws and a back full of spikes jutting outwards, each one trembling with anticipation. **_~~”WE SEE THE FUTURE! WE SEE THE DEATH! WE SEE THE LORD! THE KING! WE SEE OUR CHIEFTAIN! DO NOT STOP US! OR FALL! HOLDS TRUE! LEAD THE WARRIORS! He placed the two books upon a shelf before debating his next visit, perhaps he could check on 'The Cycle of Life and Death', the original that resided in a Piltover museum, or learn more about the other provinces, whatever he chose he couldn't just stay here and risk Renekton or Xerath discovering his residence. Silence fell across the grand expanse of the Great Library. Ryze was accustomed to it, quiet and solitude were his oldest friends. He was about to give up, presuming that the caretaker was not around, that was until he heard a deep voice reverberate in response to his own call-out. It was solemn, though seemingly gentle. It presented an individual who was diligent, kind, and sincere at heart but was more than willing to become brutal and unrelenting when the time called for it. He livened up a bit at the sudden confirmation of life, but any eagerness he may have had to speak with the caretaker was mostly lost when he saw the......anthropomorphic canine hybrid approach him.* *And was he a tall one. Seven feet tall, towering over the archmage and most other people the archmage had met and seen. The magic that radiated off of this doggish man was quite interesting. Ryze recognized it as residual enhancement magic, with a hint of transformation. Ryze stood his ground even in the face of such a juggernaut, but he got the feeling that this was a scholar of an individual.* "I came to investigate a great surge of arcane energy, but it seems to have been dealt with, apparently. If Kassadin looked at the directed chapter, it would detail all of the battle, from the attack on Icathia, Setaka's valiant efforts, the various voidbeasts that poured forth from the portal and the cultists and then finally Setaka's fall to a beasts poisoned claws, before tearing out it's throat with her chalicar and throwing it to silence the cultists keeping the portal open. oddly enough, the description of a certain variety of voidbeast sounded...familiar...(Rek'Sai)
: (( Context: Ryze just came to Shurima due to sensing arcane fluctiations but found that things are settled for now. He's actually setting out to leave but I figured I would have him drop by to check the place out. )) *Looking upon the fabled Great Library of Shurima, he found only a poor remnant of what it once was. It had fallen into a tragic ruin while he was gone, centuries having passed them by but it only felt like he was gone for a short few weeks. The flow of time was not too entirely clear to the archmage, his featureless glowing white eyes fixed upon the entrance to the former bastion of knowledge and history. He could vividly remember it at its prime, when it was a grand and majestic edifice dedicated to archiving and recording all manner of information, it held the greatest collection of tomes and scrolls in all of Runeterra as a testament to its modus. In its current state of dilapidation and ruin, it didn't seem like much more than a monument to the former glory and majesty of the Shurima Empire.* *Ryze dared to take a look inside and to gain an understanding of the extent of the damage to the once revered and mesmerizing structure. Pushing aside one of the large doors, he slipped inside with surprising grace and expertise. It was almost as though he was no stranger to subtle and unknown entries into such places, like a master thief infiltrating a royal vault in the dead of night. Where once there were vast rows of shelves which lined the walls in proud display of heritage and awareness of the world, there were now a scarce few bookshelves with naught but surprisingly well-kept literature. He was surprised to see some sort of refurbishment in this otherwise run-down establishment. He also noticed what could be recognized as restored study areas with chairs or benches and tables of various shapes.* "This is strange. It looks forgotten from the outside but there's very clear attention to it once you're inside...." *Someone very clearly was working to restore this library, but who? The individual must surely have a great love and passion for knowledge, this did not escape the purple-skinned mage's perception. The only question to be asked was the identity of the individual. The library was large, it was far too large for any single person to maintain effectively even if it were to be brought back to its former glory. He remembered that there was a caretaker and a small collective of assistants or attendants, all of whom would watch over and take care off the premises. He decided to take a look around, to investigate the progress of the renovation, yes, but also to solve the mystery of the new caretaker.* "Hello?! Is the curator currently in?!" *His voice reverberated through the mostly empty building, echoing all about as it bounced off of every little nook and cranny. Surely his words would be heard by whomever had taken up the role of operator.*

Tales from their ancestors had been passed on how Tulak the great had met the Ascended beings, or battled them, and there was a far fetched one where it is said when he beat the Ascended he scalped them and proceeded to suck their brains out. Truth be told, that was possibly one of the most dumbest tales and that came from a drunken old man. "Energy... You said he formed some sort of creature, yes? Made of energy or something close to it?" That sounded familiar... Really familiar actually. He had battled Rek'sai earlier, a week before, but during that battle he had... manifested some sort of protective energy that responded to his commands, giving him power, shape, form unlike anything hes seen before! However, he had heard two distinct voices afterwards... A rather demonic and cruel male and a soothing but chilling female as well. They were similar to the tale, but could it have been a coincidence? As far as he knew, there was nothing of the sort that he knew about, nor anything he found that had given him those powers, and he was neither the descendant of Tulak, it was confirmed that he had never taken a lover either, so it was off the table... "Was it similar to... Give me a few minutes, please. It has... taken time to even do this," he closed his eyes beneath his mask and growled, teeth grinding against each other as he raised his right arm. Nasus paused for awhile thinking more on the story, before Qymaen next spoke, could it be...was he the mysterious heir to Tulaks power? unbound by blood or ritual? "Perhaps we shall, and I hope it is as friends. Despite the fact we are warriors, we warriors don't always thrive on bloodshed. Sometimes, family is all we really need, and a good fight too of course," Tulak said as he lifted the sacred mask off of his face, revealing three diagonal scars going down his face, a fully grown beard wrapped around his chin, and sharp teeth shockingly. "Do be careful, and may the sands be kind." He added and gave one last wave to Nasus.

Nasus waved in return and set off to the desert, a young boy of the village would catch a glimpse of Nasus's face as he left, Smiling at the young boy. Afterward, he would trudge on through to the exit of the Village, as any onlookers looked on an alert would sound for a coming sandstorm by a watchman while they were distracted, Nasus rushed through the desert at a speed that a normal man could never do with the sands of Shurima under their feet, anyone who wasn't scrambling to shelter would witness the sight, suddenly the seemingly frail man wasn't so frail after all. Nasus trudged through the desert, there was only one shelter he could take that wasn't occupied by anyone...He soon arrived at the doors of The Great Library. Sighing he took in the sight of the once proud Library before entering, inside the scrolls, Books and other writings littered the Shelves in varying degrees of neglect or preservation. Nasus closed the door to the library and using a small fire spell lit up a sconce beside one of the desks, he sat there alone in the darkness waiting for the sandstorm to subside before continuing. As he sat, he thought back to many of Tulaks words of wisdom, one inspiring the old Ascended, "But I can indeed compete with an ascended being in terms of power, but after that it all depends on one's skill, determination, and unpredictability." Nasus looked to his hand, when he went into exile he had left his warrior ways behind, the warrior ways he had studied from countless traveling warriors, warriors of Shurima...even his brother...clenching his fist, Nasus rose and removed his disguise, his ancient Shuriman armor gleaming in the light of the one torch behind him, _I promise Tulak, I will not allow the skills and techniques I have gleaned from countless warriors to go to waste, as A once great Warrior of Shurima you have my word!_ Nasus walked towards the end of the library, Lighting the sconces as he went before arriving at the foot of the statue of his likeness. Nasus pressed the secret button at the foot of the statue and columns rose from the ground, Nasus removed the cloth from his axe and began striking the columns one after another, long into the night. **Present Day** ...And so ends my tale of how I met Tulak, A wise man and a strong warrior, of all the civilizations that rose since the fall of Shurima, your clan has continued to pique my interest. > [{quoted}](name=AskTheHarbinger,realm=NA,application-id=jxzFAe03,discussion-id=RXXYOpal,comment-id=0024,timestamp=2017-10-17T01:38:33.391+0000) > > ((I wonder... How do you translate Nasus' abilities from the game to the world? As in, given how long he has been alive, just *how* immensely strong is his Q? I bet he could oneshot a mountain at this point. :P)) ((I see his abilities as self taught besides his ult which is a natural ability that he and Renekton share. The rest of his abilities are things he learned from a special book called the Cycle of Life and Death or at the very least it was a catalyst to his studies. How the abilities work in my view are as follows: Siphoning Strike: It works generally the same as in game, Nasus captures the souls of foes he has slain through an energy field he surrounds his axe with, while it could get to absurd amounts of strength depending on the amount of souls it captures it caps where it can only break a house wall with a single strike. After every battle however, he releases the souls as he is not one to imprison souls for power. Wither: This one is a little tricky for me, but I see it as he speeds up the decay of a target just enough to weaken them, it can go further to more fatal levels but that is not Nasus's way Spirit Fire: I see this as summoning a huge circle at a target location, summoning a glyph that causes a spirit burning (and only Spirits) fire that burns with the intensity of the sun or at the very least lava. While this wont instantly destroy a soul inside a target, it certainly weakens their resolve causing the stat drops in their armor, it can however still destroy a soul burning someone from the inside if their spirit is weak enough. After that he has many more abilities that pertain to life and death, but he opts not to use or show how to use these as they are to dangerous, even for someone as strong as an Ascended.))

As Drogon left through the sands of Shurima's vast desert, Nasus returned to pacing inside the Library, his thoughts now focused on the creature Drogon described, was it Voidborn in origin or perhaps something else entirely? Whatever it was, Nasus had another thing to look for on his way to reviving and expanding upon, the knowledge contained in the Great Library. ((Thank you for visiting, may your future Rp's be fun and plentiful!))
: *looks down then looked the ascended being in the eyes* "the last time i saw this creature was a century ago, when something stole my wife to be from the altar"

He is in retrospect father time, I have not met him myself, only tales and legends, some of which used to be in this library long ago." Maybe Xerath couldve been a better emperor. Being from the lower class, he would know best on any problems that might lurk under Azir's radar." He recalled his experiments on time travel upon Nasus' question, and how he nearly ripped a hole in space-time due to accidentally typing an extra zero on the power supply. "By creating controlled holes in the fabric of space-time, you can then connect these holes using a set of quantum particles, basically creating a tunnel from the current time to the future or the past. The easy part is getting to the specified time. The hard part is getting back. The tunnel cannot stay forever, and i cant just bring the whole machine to the past, so another tunnel has to be made later on for me to get back with pinpoint accuracy. Not to mention if you just go through time and not space, you end up floating in nothing because of the Earth's rotation around the sun." (Think of the crappy time travel movie Disney made a long time ago. Similar logic for the tunnels.)

With that said, Nasus was happy to discuss the matters of time, "Fascinating, I have heard many theories of time throughout the ages, Like the theory of spacetime, time dilation, even the arrow of time, but only the being known as the chronokeeper knows the deeper concepts of time, even my knowledge of time is limited compared to him. > [{quoted}](name=Frontlinegeneral,realm=NA,application-id=jxzFAe03,discussion-id=RXXYOpal,comment-id=0020,timestamp=2017-08-25T01:10:58.857+0000) >Drogon Nasus smiled for a breif moment, "fair enough, I'm sorry to say I have yet to see such a creature, previously recorded or otherwise. Nasus wouldn't stop the man as he rushed past, for once he was inside, he would see what would have been most likely an endless reservoir of knowledge, had it not been devoid of the books inside, minus the five entries beside the man, "While the Library is devoid of books at the moment, my mind has not forgotten them, tell me what crystal it is you seek and I will try my best to help you." This mortal was unlike most, but Nasus would play this man's game...for now, if only to know who he served. Upon seeing the... lack of books, the cultist would be put off slightly. He did not know that this place would be so... devoid. He was expecting to have only to ask the location of books containing said knowledge, long-term interaction with the guardian was not part of the plan. The more contact there was, the higher the probability of him being found out. This was not good. He hesitated, he would turn around, relatively slowly, his demeanour changing from one of quick impatience to some kind of anxiety. The sudden shift would be noticeable to eyes as wisened as Nasus'. This mortal had come here intending to avoid contact with others as much as possible, but now that it had been made quite clear that there was no choice, his previously calm and rehearsed demeanor dropped quite readily. Shortly before turning, there was a low, only barely audible, even to Nasus' sensitive ears, "Shit..." As he turned to face Nasus, his legs were shaking slightly ~~, knees weak arms hung like spaghetti, vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti~~, his eye were avoiding contact, looking around nervously. "U-uhhmm.. I need to know where I can get... uhm.... True Hextech Crystals... Synthetic ones from Piltover are too weak for the rit- err, uhmm, my studies... it needs to be a true one.... naturally formed... Do you happen to know where they might be? I'd be very grateful!" The last part came out hastily, a desperate (and failed) attempt to regain his composure. At this point, something was clearly off.

This man was obviously working for a fearsome higher power, or he was just a plain criminal one or the other. But if Nasus was to see for himself just what kind of higher power, he would have to play along, "In my frequent visits to Piltover, I have learned that the crystals they use are the hearts of ancient creatures known as the Brackern. They are located a long ways from here. I warn you however, if you seek these crystals and attempt to steal them from the sleeping creatures, a great tragedy will befall you." Nasus left the guardian vague for a reason, if he were to report to his master, whether or not the man also knew of the guardian, Nasus would follow, if the energy source was what he thought it was...he was not going to let the man get away from him without finding out who...or what was pulling the strings. > [{quoted}](name=Frontlinegeneral,realm=NA,application-id=jxzFAe03,discussion-id=RXXYOpal,comment-id=001e,timestamp=2017-08-10T02:52:47.901+0000) >Drogon Nasus watched as Drogon began drawing the creature he seeked, "Hmmm, I am unfamiliar with this creature...what is it?" > [{quoted}](name=Shiyunava,realm=NA,application-id=jxzFAe03,discussion-id=RXXYOpal,comment-id=001f,timestamp=2017-08-10T18:42:09.769+0000) >Serinity Dear Serinity There are many things in our lives we could find inspirational, a strong leader, a great mentor, or even a tale of old. That patronizing glare that he'd held before though was gone, replaced with a welcoming glow that seemed to radiate off his polished golden armor and a curious tenor behind his voice. Even his war axe- taller than some people, and slung over the Ascended's shoulder with ease- appeared renewed and freshly sharpened, as if it'd been reforged. An oversized and tattered cloth cloak hid any scars on the mercenary's body, but Sivir was quick to produce the enchanted pendant hidden under the wraps of her scarf. The embedded jade glowed dimly. It was huge, but empty otherwise of the books that probably filled this library to the brim, with the exception of five current age books beside the entrance (list will be added on the opening momentarily), as well as the stacks of papers on the ascended's desk.
