: I'm really glad to see this post, because a lot of other boards posts have been a sort of mishmash of feedback about all the other changes (rewards/leveling) and this is a great opportunity for us to focus specifically on the rune rewards. OP has a fair question here, and it's basically this: **We're giving rewards to players for buying runes in the past, but it's not a FULL refund for all runes purchased since the beginning. Why?** While we're not intending to change the reward amounts that we've already announced, I do think we owe you guys a serious explanation, so here it is: To understand this you have to understand our business model. We use the money we get from sellings things to make the game better. Giving away IP means we make less money, because it cuts into future sales of champs for RP (and that's a big part of the business model for our game). It's how we get money to reinvest in the game with new features that make the game better for everyone. So what we're doing with the rune rewards is giving up a portion of our revenue. Why, then, are we giving back some blue essence for each tier three rune you ever bought? Why not give _nothing_ in exchange for runes, if it hurts revenue? The answer is that we understand that it feels bad to have something you paid for suddenly become free for other people. Given the broader context of how positive the upcoming runes changes are for the game, we think that giving a little something back is the right thing to do for players and for the long-term health of the game. The goal with the rewards we've announced is to recognize the time you’ve spent getting Runes and reward you fairly for it, without going overboard and hurting ourselves financially. That's the most straight and honest answer I can give you.

At 10% It's not at crazy amounts so not as abusable, plus it takes time to build up with takedowns.

League has a tendency to define classes based on what their optimal items are to buy. We have support specific items, jungle specific items, mage specific items, assassin specific items and now tank specific items. Giving tanks lower defensive stats (and lack of range so they need to get into the thick of things to be effective) incentivizes them further to buy tank items to compensate, and while it's a bit weird to have flimsy tanks when itemless, it does work from a "I'm a tank so I want to build tanky" stance.

: Camille is pretty bullshit. I just have to say it. Her Q is an instant auto-attack. Even though is says: Active: Camille's next basic attack deals bonus physical damage and grants her bonus range and movement speed for 1 second. Precision Protocol can then be recast within the next 3 seconds at no extra cost. This is BULLSHIT. It causes her next basic attack to hit INSTANTLY. Should probably put that in there somewhere so people don't judge that she's not OP based on text alone.
Auto-attack resets are worded similarly for all champions eg. Nasus Q: ACTIVE: Nasus's next basic attack within 10 seconds gains bonus range and deals bonus physical damage. Darius W: ACTIVE: Darius's next basic attack within 4 seconds gains bonus range, deals 40% AD bonus physical damage and Slow icon slows the target by 90% for 1 second. If Crippling Strike kills its target it refunds its mana cost and half of its cooldown. Jax W: ACTIVE: Jax's next basic attack or Leap Strike.png Leap Strike within 10 seconds deals bonus magic damage.

: Huh. Well that's unfortunate. Still, I'd definitely take DS over Ruby Crystal. The health regen is very valuable (it's the equivalent of a Health Pot every 2 minutes as long as you stay below max health, which is very easy to do in poke lanes) and the passive doesn't hurt even if it is crummy.

: DS blocks 8 damage ~~from every attack (champion and minion)~~ which simply adds up to free health against ranged poke lanes. Then there's the added health regen it gives you which also gives you more effective health in lane as long as you stick around long enough to use it. Short version is that DS is a better starter item than Ruby Crystal unless you expect to back 2.5 minutes into trading. You can see my post above if you're interested in the maths.

: How? Lets take it for something like Statik shiv, Gives as, and ramp up damage, and MS. The enemy buys something like a black cleaver or even Ghostblade. You will lose that trade 100%. If SS only gave say 10 ramp up, 10 auto attacks to get 100 ad. which will take around 6-7 seconds. While the enemy has a flat +60 and armor pen so they will have around an extra 70+ad straight off the bat.
I have no idea where you pulled up those numbers so without any grounds to discuss, I'll have to conclude this exchange.

At best Tank Camille will just become a tank with subpar CC. Take {{champion:59}} for example who has an AOE knockup (compared to Camille's single target stun) and an aoe trapping tool (compared to Camille's single target trapping tool) and yet nobody's complaining about full tank Jarvan.
