What I don't understand is that it just blows up shields regardless of the amount of damage he would deal. Irelia's old passive dealt bonus damage to shields, so she was strong against them but didn't just destroy them. Idk why Blitz and Renekton didn't get a similar mechanic as opposed to an extremely binary "nope" mechanic. I'm happy shield-shred is being reintroduced, but I'm not happy that it's being done like this.

Okay, when literally thousands of people don't like something and point certain things out, maybe that's an indication that it should be looked at or revised? I recognize that my opinion is subjective, but PROJECT is my _favourite_ skinline, and Akali also happens to be one of my favourite champions but I honestly don't think I'll be getting this skin because of how bad it looks compared to Fiora, Lucian, Jhin, Zed, and Irelia.

They added the recall to Blood Moon Akali after player feedback if I remember correctly. Also Riot made a lot of decisions for other skins in the past, I'm hoping they're paying attention now because I was hyped for this skin when it was teased and I want it to be as good as it can be.

Have you guys considered looking back on the changes you did to his W? His ability to combo it and his ultimate were core to his gameplay. It's a bit like if you guys suddenly made Alistar's own combo far less easy to execute.

: As someone whos been passionate about Teemo since season 3, please consider the following. I really like the stealth changes - it looks exciting and it'll be objectively a healthier spell. Right now i think the camouflage is quite good as you can easily burst a squishy and get out. I think this new version will be more accesible and all-round useful. Thats the best change yet. The unfortunate thing that will be going away with this stealth change is that there will be no more camouflage outplays. Stealthing in the middle of the lane and waiting for that squishy to show up, or stealthing in the side of the lane and waiting for the laner to walk into your mushroom isnt gonna be a thing anymore. I could totally see why that needs to go though as it can feel unfair to play against. The thing i massively dislike is the ap ratio and shroom changes. Currently and historically teemo has been awful at building AP. He rather builds magic pen because he just doesnt scale that well with AP. Liandrys + Sorc, Oblivion orb and void staff will give more damage then deathcap could. With the AP Ratio nerfs you are moving teemo from an assasin poison mage playstyle to a generic on-hit champion. Not only that but moving teemo away from his mushroom playstyle goes against what teemo inherently is. There is a dedicated playerbase who play teemo for his mushrooms, thats his identity. I dont think its fair to move teemo away from that. Mushrooms is what makes teemo unique, and is what makes teemo - well, teemo. Please please keep this in mind, his mushrooms are teemo. brainstorming here: What about making teemo's mushrooms leave behind a cloud of poison (when walked over) that slows and damages those who stand in it ? It would solve the instant damage issue but still make teemo able to zone enemies, follow up on good shroom placement and contribute in teamfights. It would preserve teemo's identity, but move away from what you guys find problematic.
I second this comment. Taking power away from Teemo's mushrooms and edging him towards more of an on-hit champion goes against the playstyle that Teemo players _love_.

Increasing the amount of mushrooms Teemo can hold won't really do anything for him if their mana cost remains the same. It's already pretty hard for him to shroom up a field without going oom after a short amount of time, especially if he's doing any amount of trading in lane. The health added to mushrooms is... kind of interesting in the sense that a single red trinket probably will no longer be enough to completely trivialize his ultimate but I doubt it will help much in the instances where 3 or more people take it on a team - the nerf to their damage really sucks as Teemo will feel even more useless in these instances. I'm really iffy about these changes, they don't really seem to address anything that makes Teemo bad in higher level of play vs. low elo. If anything, this might just make him worst overall and force him towards the On-hit build even more.

As someone who has spammed Akali a ton after her rework and got her to mastery 7, please consider removing the true stealth mechanic. You had to change her W in a way that makes it feel buggy for Akali players in order to try and balance it, leaving everyone unsatisfied. Just allow turrets to function as they normaly should and allocate power elsewhere in her kit. The last set of changes essentially gutted her against any champion with a buffered ability.

Why are they nerfing Tiamat? There are so many characters that aren't problematic (Renekton, Riven, Fiora, Kled, Rek'sai) that depend on this item in order to win their lane. Nerfing it will just make them even worse against Urgot, Aatrox, Viktor, and Jax. What is the reasoning behind this change? That item does NOT need to be nerfed.

Hey Meddler, as someone who has played hundreds of games on the new Akali, I think "Obscure" just doesn't have meaningful counterplay, and breaks the game rule that towers reveal (and fire at) enemies within their range. It just completely prevents characters with important targetted abilities to fight back around objectives they need to defend. I'm saying this also because Akali's damage isn't what makes her impressive over other assassins, and hitting her there could make her far less attractive as a champion since her utility is already quite low, and hitting her sustain make her far less effective top-lane, where I feel she fits an interesting niche. The "Obscure" effect holds up far too much of her power budget, and Akali already has so much mobility with her R and E that her tower dives are already quite strong without it. Having access to this mechanic just removes far too much counterplay that should exist against a slippery assassin. I'd really like to see where she would land if she didn't have Obscure.

: We haven't been putting time into those atm. In the midst of preseason work we have had very little time to devote to individual champ work, and for designers that did have time we've been putting it into those pro play victim champs who we can hopefully bring back to rough parity. I suspect some of her frustration will go away when you have MR to start the game (less poke/burst in lane phase), but should she continue to be an issue we'll work on her again I'm sure.
Please look into her W, it is by far her most powerful and least interactive ability in lane.

: Can't speak much to base, I do see some changes to base with the revert were intentional, though, particularly some of her marks (reading this from a bug ticket). Looking through tickets, it does look like some SFX for Ravenborn LeBlanc's Q have been restored this patch (8.22), which *may* also fix the hookup for the VFX, haven't verified the fix yet.
Hey Katey, don't know if that's your domain but wondering if Leblanc might be a good candidate for an Ezrael-level visual update? She's always been a popular pick mid lane, but her spells kind of look like she's body-slamming people before they explode. Is there any intention of making her look a bit more like an illusion mage and giving her a more ethereal appearance when she moves?

While I agree that it's difficult to see how Fiora measures up to Jax in the lore due to the sheer number of his exploits, I think the distinction between them is that while Jax lived a very full life, Fiora's story has yet to be really told. I feel like the material we have on Fiora so far frames a good back story that will lead up to something. She is by far my favourite character in League of Legends and I'm looking forward to see what Riot has in store for her (and Demacia as a whole, come to think of it).

Hey Meddler, there's been a recent reveal about a new Fiora walking animation (the version with her arm behind her back looks incredibly good). Are there plans to touch-up other champions whose art and gameplay are otherwise up-to-par with modern League standards, or to add entirely new suites of animations since some champions lack some of the newer sets that new champions have such as a slowed/sped-up/hitting tower animation? On that same note, will the animators ever finish Aatrox' wings? They just appear into existence rather than fold/unfold on his back. It looks very unfinished.

: We had a chat recently about our different queues. Issue of whether we should replace TT with something else did get raised, given its play rate ranges from extremely low in regions like NA and EU to effectively non existent in most other regions. We concluded we should still keep it despite that, though I expect we'd want to revisit that if things changed (e.g. if it's play rate declines further). For reference, Dominion was substantially lower in play rate again than current TT when we made the call to remove it.
Isn't there just a critical lack of support for TT which makes it impossible for players to get invested in the first place? Dominion suffered from this issue as well. Alternative map modes cannot succeed if catered balance changes to them are non-existent.
: Clothesline Karma Mini-Retrospective
I really don't buy the solo-Q argument as there are plenty of characters with abilities that require some ally-coordination in the game. It's like saying Kalista's ult feels unsatisfying because some players don't understand how to use it. It's like... yeah, but people will learn and adapt. They always do. I'm really not convinced. On another note, the Spirit-walking ability looks cool as hell, I really hope this sees the light of day in some iteration in the future.

TLDR is we started by testing some gamepaly things Karma used to have to see if it made sense to bring them back (e.g. W clothesline play). Ran into some issues with that, so looking at other options.
Please tell me it's her shield bomb. It was her most iconic ability, removed from her and then given to another champion (Ivern). What about her AoE heal with Mantra? There were a lot of dual mechanics that were outright removed from her kit to streamline her back in the day that wouldn't offend modern League conventions imo

As an imperialistic nation you would think that they'd exert their economic influence on their vassal states just like Rome did in antiquity (as a matter of fact, the prevalence and circulation of Roman currency is part of why the empire was so powerful and influential).

Thoughts about buffing Fiora's early game? I'm not sure that's wise considering how strong she scales, and how good of a top lane duelist she already is. With tanks coming back into the meta I think she's already going to be more valued now than she was a few patches ago. I really don't think Fiora is in a spot where she requires buffs of any sort.

Right now she looks kinda like she was just walking extremaly fast not fully running. Her animations are stiff. Her legs and hands look like pretty weird and like they were broken or something. Leblanc could seriously use an Ezrael-esque update I think. Her kit is super fun but her model and animations are terrible.

: I've gotten used to her. she's not god awful, but I honestly feel her kit needs a few numbers slightly adjusted around. she's too feast or famine right now. what i've learned to do is aim for first blood on a super squishy opponent. *edit* but i agree to waiting at least through 8.17 before patching her.
She's feast or famine with her classic Gunblade AP build. She's actually _very_ consistent as a top lane bruiser. I don't think Riot should touch her at all, if anything she's actually super oppressive in melee matchups.

: We actually want to test this in one region and see how it feels for players. Generally we agree where there's some games where you just want to get the fuck out, and the current surrender system keeps you stuck longer than you want. This is especially true when you have a toxic flamer on your team who will refuse to surrender just to spite you, but also applies to highly snowballed games. No idea yet if it's something we'll end up turning on everywhere, or that we'll just test and then revert, but it would definitely help in some cases.
Could some revision be made about leaving games when there is a DC or RQ after the 3 minute mark? It's honestly terrible to be held hostage in game due to circumstances outside of your control and, moreover, to lose LP because someone has bad internet or decided to sabotage the game. Other MOBAs do this well, why not League?

I know that he's in a bad spot but why buff Tryndamere? He's proven to be one of the champions that lacks a fundamental amount of counterplay whenever he's strong (infinite sustain, on-command invulnerability through silences, stuns, etc.) with a very frustrating playstyle (low interaction splitpusher that prioritizes lane pressure over... anything else). Buffing him seems like a really bad idea until he gets a VGU. Why not focus more attention on characters like a lot of mid mages that haven't been seeing any serious amount of play this season?
: Eh. Kalista is more like a deity of vengeance to me. She almost lost all sense of herself. Pyke is doing this for personal reasons that he can barely remember, targeting anyone.
Agree with you there, I feel like Kalista is more like a force of nature driven by the curse of the Shadow Isles rather than a revenant out to kill those who wronged him. There's a sense of honour in how Kalista accepts the soul-pact of the betrayed and avenges them, whereas Pyke is entirely driven by his own vengeance.

I am his sound designer and my goal was to try to capture what a dead man's shredded vocal chords that are perpetually wet would sound like. A little bit aquatic/amphibious, a little bit extreme vocal fry. When you play him in a match, you'll also hear faint sounds of underwater bubbles to help tie in the drowned fantasy. Of course, your aural perception of him will sound different between playing him in-game vs. listening to him on a YouTube video. We focus on how our Champions will sound in-game. May I suggest something if you do an effect like this in the future? Camille's VO particularely stands out to me as being excellent due to how it changes from a normal, posh woman to something _else_ mid sentence. The transition from normal to robotic is quite stark and really accentuates those bits, whereas Pyke is - as the OP pointed out - always speaking through a filter. I think in this particular case some variance where you could hear the man Pyke once was vs. his true nature as the Ripper would've been very intense and intimidating and given players a clearer indication that Pyke's drowning or speaking through shredded vocal cords as you suggested. Good job regardless, he's suitably creepy.

The thing is that they buffed Graves for a few patches before rolling out the jungle changes, which would have put him in a good spot anyway. He got a double love tap from Riot attention and a favourable meta; he's way, way too strong in his current state. I refuse to think that Riot doesn't know he completely stomps out other options when he's strong. Graves either needs to fall off much harder late game, or his early game dominance and safety needs to go. You can't have it both ways.

Smite buffs were fucking amazing. Each camp had good reasons to be smited at different stages of the game, and jungle control was far more strategic as a result. I wish we'd go back to this version of the camps and that Riot instead focused their efforts on increasing character variety instead of constantly changing how the game is played on a macro level.

Honestly I just feel like {{item:3147}} is the AD equivalent of the old Deathfire. It creates the exact same issues that item had, where it's now mandatory on every assassin that can build it, and exacerbates their burst to the point of anti-counterplay. {{champion:141}} {{champion:121}} {{champion:91}} {{champion:107}} {{champion:238}} {{champion:35}} are all completely bullshit if they ever manage to get ahead with this item. Deathfire was deleted from the game for its one-shot interaction with LB and Veigar, why isn't {{item:3147}} ? The double standard is unreal.
