: Nobody will ever be satisfied regardless of what Riot does. People come up with all these harebrained ideas thinking they know how to fix the game. There will be just as many complaints and people living in the past talking about how great Season 3 was and if we only just go back. We can't. The game has evolved and it's for the better.

There will be just as many complaints and people living in the past talking about how great Season 3 was and if we only just go back. We can't. The game has evolved and it's for the better. This boards is so hive minded. I moved over to Reddit because it honestly got so bad, that's probably why all the Rioters hang out there instead of touching this depression-inducing forum. I used to look forward to having intelligent conversation with people on here, but now if you don't agree with something you get downvoted to oblivion. Yeah Reddit has some of that too, but it's not nearly as bad. Riot has made it's share of mistakes, and even this patch I would say wasn't up to my expectations, but saying they're awful and not deserving of this game is stupid. Who would be better? Activision-Blizzard? Maybe EA? Or hey, what about Epic Games? Yeah right, they're all worse on so many levels. I honestly don't get why you all hang around lurking on the forums when you all hate Riot and it's game so much. Like have you not thought of just quitting and going elsewhere and enjoying life? Like you're all so angry all the time I don't get it. If you don't like it why torture yourselves? This game is gonna be fine, it just recaptured #1 Twitch spot and has two games in the top 3 most streamed section now and posted great earnings recently: it's in a great place in terms of performance. It will survive, don't worry about it. Idk man, go ahead and hit the downvote button now that's just my two cents.

The problem is you guys are toxic as hell and aren't able to hold an actual conversation with Rioters. Reddit is at least reasonable and can actually engage in discussion.
: > Slow down your horses mate. > Nexus Blitz was on rotation for quite a while. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe **at least** 1 month. TFT isn't even 1 week old in the Live servers. One month is not a long time to be on rotation? And based off seeing that they're adding a ranked mode to TFT, yes... they're going to keep it. Yet they removed Nexus Blitz, which again would effect them in no way to keep it available for players but they chose to restrict availability for us. Its about the money and drawing people back to the game. Not player satisfaction. > They gave the same reason they had for ARURF: player burnout. Getting burned out means nothing, people get burned out on ARAM and Summoners Rift all the time. But since there's not enough game modes to swap often they're stuck playing those modes. Having the RGM available would reduce burn out and bring more people back to the game because it has wider diversity.

But since there's not enough game modes to swap often they're stuck playing those modes. Having the RGM available would reduce burn out and bring more people back to the game because it has wider diversity. 1. One month is enough time to gauge player interest. If they see player burnout one month in, that's a problem. Also, it is about player satisfaction: if people play it constantly and stream, they probably enjoy it? The two are correlated. They're a business, yes, but if players are playing more of their game because it's fun and enjoyable then that's great for their bottom line. 2. Getting burned out means a lot, actually, specifically the type of burn out they referenced. Their issue was that players would play URF and later Nexus Blitz, burnout, and then stop playing League. This is normal, sure, but the problem was that many never came back. A lot of regular players would straight up quit the game as soon as they got their fill. This is, obviously, awful for the game's health and Riot Games as a company. Keeping a product on that is literally burning our players and forcing theme to quit is player suicide. They brought back URF in the form of ARURF and found it minimized this burnout, and they'd likely have to find a similar solution to the Nexus Blitz issue in order to bring it back. Additionally, they'd need to retain the initial playerbase, which they said died down rapidly. You can't fault Riot Games for trying to avoid a self-destructive game design decision.

Why nerf something that hasn't been problematic? > > Why punish bot lane champions when they aren't causing any issues? True Supports in general are close to being completely useless in the current meta. Any damage we shield can be burned through in 1 AA, our utility has been hit with decay mechanics that make them useful only at the start of the effect, our AP scaling has been effectively nullified across the board and, when an enchanter came around that did scale incredibly well with AP, it’s a champion that has absolutely no self-preservation in their kit save for an attach mechanic that is about as reliable to use in a teamfight as trying to destroy a turret without letting the minions get to it first. I would not be suprised at all if the support role is relegated to the infamous “inting” category. Simply picking a true support will be frowned upon and get you reported.

There is way too much healing and shielding in this game and it needs to be nerfed across the board. The only supports that are struggling at the moment are tank supports like Alistair.
: Except it's really not. Level 1 Mid: Pyke has very little access to restoring HP, because it's a wide open lane, and level 2-3 occurs quickly. Level 2 Mid: Level 3 Mid happens at about 3:55. Level 1 Top: Pyke does lose some lane healing, but Level 2 is about 3:20, and level 3 at 4:20. He can also start W, and just auto attack minions and use W to escape in most instances. He doesn't need hook level 1 at this lane. Level 2 Top: Pyke is back to normal. And as a reward, he's gaining 20% Movement speed base, on a skill setting that's already hard to catch (Back when it was flat base move speed, W was catchable. Post 2 Lethality items, he's really hard to catch on new skills), and gaining 5-55 damage on his Q for the entire game. Pyke's viability has never been level 1 in ANY lane. It's been post level 4 - 6 +. And again, this isn't a jungle Pyke Nerf, since Jungle Pyke goes Q > E > W.

This is a pretty bad nerf to Pyke in both of his solo lanes (his jungle really was never all that great, I'm not even gonna talk about that one). Top he will now get hard fucked in lanes he was supposed to do better in thanks to sustain. A good example is vs. Jayce. Jayce will now hard fuck Pyke level 1, or will just have to choose to not farm at all. You used to go E second in this lane, but if you even want to think about farming you have to go level 3 and you're really never going to have much kill pressure in that lane now. The same is for other champs that would try to harass hard early game. Mid lane is also hurt because people aren't going to want to put points in W there early on anyways for the exact reasons you mentioned: it's hard to sustain to begin with. That sustain still matters though, and now you're just getting none of it.
: I have high hopes for Fiddles. It made me nervous when I saw he won (even though I voted for him), but their early comments seem really promising. I agree that "ambush predator" is kind of Fiddle's thing, so I'm glad that's where the discussion is starting. And I am also glad they are going to separate the goofy elements into his skins, instead of trying to make base fiddles goofy. I want him to live up to his fantasy of being a terrifying monstrosity.

IDK because I didn't like tank meta either, I talked shit to tank players that didn't realise how busted their champs were, and how little skill tanks needed compared to bruisers back then. The main reason full AD teams are strong is because AD is more efficient early game and with tower plates and an overall faster pace to the game it's better for stomping games quickly. Tanks aren't necessarily bad (and I do think they'll get quite a bit stronger after this last set of nerfs), they just aren't able to deal with the cheese and scale before the game ends.
: When will Riot nerf Trinity Force?
Why does the Boards consist of 70% circle-jerking mid mage mains. Like this has always been a thing. Thank God this one isn't getting upvoted because it's so ridiculous.
: I know this stuff is terrible as it stands, but at least they ain't as scummy as EA or Activision. I think everyone knows that Riot is, out all the game corps, definitely the most pro-player/transparent/ethical (sorry if that doesn't fit the typical circlejerk here). That being said, I think it's good that people hold Riot to a high standards and push for them to make positive change when it's needed. It's because we've scared them away with rampant circle jerking, ignorance, and general toxicity. They've gone to hide in the LoL subreddit, which is at least slightly friendlier and more constructive.

I think ive spent my fair share. Why are we all pretending like LoL is at a decline when it's at a historic high? NA popularity hasn't grown much, but it ended with a very good year and historic viewership. Every other country saw huge growth, and it's important to remember that LoL is bigger everywhere else. Like China's playerbase GROWTH alone probably is like 20x whatever NA's entire playerbase was at its height. The game's seriously not going anywhere.
: I 100% agree. The boards or forums in general are just a cesspool of negativity and hate. Negative opinions resonate so much more, because everybody goes through them and negative experiences have so much more impact on us as humans. Also it's the same deal every single preseason: People exaggerate, people get really REALLY angry about how the games go, ignoring that every preseason features these types of volatile games because of the changes introduced with it.
This is honestly why I moved to Reddit. So much more reasonable and positive. I used to prefer the boards but it's hard to ignore the fact that people seem to just join this massive circle jerk rather than having their own opinions. Reddit is still a circle jerk, as all forums are, but not nearly to the same extent.

: So i'm not the only one who has the same thought. Although i'm rarely playing League now, so it wouldn't count as quitting. My only question is: How long will it take for the vast majority of the playerbase to have the same thought as you and quit to an amount enough that Riot won't be able to survive much due to how much players they've lost?
Actually League grew by a pretty incredible rate this year bud, if you want to check our the stats they've been released, and Riot only ever releases them when they're good news
: e’ll be focusing on more favorites like Your Shop, **event passes**, and the Essence Emporium. Who thought "man my favorite league pay feature is event passes!", I've seen nothing but hardcore criticism about the last 2 passes being absolute dog shit, from what the rewards were and for how insanely impossible it was to get good value from the pass when you could only realistically redeem 1-2 rewards and a majority of those coins come from the event, not the pass. As someone who's purchased every pass that came out, It feels really disheartening with what I got. Atleast with the VS riven and yasuo event I got the ward skins AND the border AND an emote along with crappy hextech crafting stuff.
Actually, people were huge fans of the World's Pass. It offered a lot of value for the price and received some pretty positive feedback on Reddit. The Snowdown Pass has more of a mixed set of reviews, but still, it's value was pretty good if you made use of it. If you don't like it, speak with your wallet. If you buy, why would Riot assume you don't want it?
: I’m grateful for Nunu & Willump
Ever since about a year ago, I very rarely browse the boards unless it's linked on Reddit or Google News (y'all are pessimistic cirkle-jerkin' hive-minded toxic little shits sometimes). I honestly don't know how I got to this post in the first place, but I had to log in just to respond. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for your loss and I'm glad you found joy in little things like this. It's been a while (now in college), but I still remember how excited I was as an only child to finally have a little brother. I was excited to introduce him to video games, Smash Bros, Legend of Zelda, and eventually games like LoL. He died shortly after birth and it was so devastating for me, but I found happiness in other things too in a similar way you did and it helps you get through it a lot. Obviously it's going to take some time to heal, but if you attempt again for a child I hope everything goes well. You seem like you'd be a great father too. Much love for you and your family, and good luck on the rift!
: Why Ezreal Support isn't just a "Non-meta pick".
I actually used to play Ezreal support a lot in the past. I would Max W, get AP, go Aery, buy Ardent, and then spam W on my ADC and enemy and just poke. I'd later have a ton of AP and a solid AS steroid (and cute shield). Since the rework, however, I haven't touched it now that it has zero utility, and I had no clue anyone else ever played it.
: Yes. No one wants to 1v2. Best would be to have all three fights at once in separate spots so no one has to watch and wait and lose their flow.
Honestly, it sounds kind of interesting. I'd love to see it played first though

: Now I need a K-pop inspired league boyband for my life to be complete! Kayn,~~Ezreal~~,Ekko,Talon, Varus/Taric[?] <3 Actually, for Kayn too it would be interesting since the two forms could provide a vocal range- I'm picturing an "Escape the Fate" vibe for Kayn suddenly with low growls for Rhaast and a higher tenor for shadow assassin and clean vocals for base Kayn. On second thought, Ezreal sounds tone deaf in his Star Guardian skin when he sings off key... maybe Varus would be a good replacement or Taric! Ekko cause I can see him tearing up rap lyrics like Akali <3 And ofc Talon cause everyone loves Talon (or loves to hate him!) and we needs a mysterious brooding band member and who wouldn't want to see this kind of skin for him?! Needs a name... DPS? AFK? Get Rekt? WE NEED TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN YALL
*Jhin, Ezreal, Jayce, and Ekko* Those were the champs that were featured on the trailer for the K/DA trailer (in that order) JEJE (GG?)
: Love the game, hate what they're doing to it :D.
It's the best state it's been in a pretty long time.
: I'm just disappointed in C9
So? They made top 4 at World's, and they earned it, no one can deny that. They lost to a better team, probably the best team at World's. I think they were better than G2, and close to IG. So if you consider them the third best performing team at World's, that's nothing to be ashamed of. I wish they took a game off FNC, but regardless, they lost to an honerable team.

: Honestly I feel that's the salt talking. But playing Zac, I get it. **It fucking sucks.** It sucks to see abilities be made weird from what we're used to. To have to adapt to abilities that we don't agree with since we grew to love and master the older abilities. We start thinking, "How is this better? What was wrong before?" And assume we know more about the champion than Riot. We played them a lot after all, who else would know them better? I like class updates, but I won't ignore that they've left some champions in worse states that only a full VGU will solve. That's why I want Mordekaiser after Eve. Because goddamn it we need proof that Riot will fix their mistakes with giving them the attention that they _need_.
I think for the most part their class updates have been awesome, but they have left some champs behind, I think they need to be more wary of that.

: Good.
It's a pretty big part of his damage now, so not good.
: Yea, this sucks - would like to fix this one. Also other champs that lose buffs/spells into plants are worth looking into. Let me know if there are other ones that are especially bad.
Jayce loses his ult procs on plants as well
: It used to be high mana so it was balanced. He could realistically use it once or twice before going oom. Then they buffed his mana regen and well this was meant to happen. He can spam it know without much regard since the balancing factor is gone
They should reduce his base mana Regen and increase him hammer stance on hit mana His way if he wants to get mana back he has to risk getting toaster-stroodled
: to ADC mains who complain that bot lane ziggs pokes you down from far out of your range
It's weird how the Boards are really pro mage and tank, and Reddit is really pro everything else that the boards isn't
: I'm already aware that most assassins were nerfed, I'm saying the marksmen should be brought down to match them. As the opinion about them being the least enjoyable . . . what can I say? It's just right clicking to win; and because their damage scales up so high, they're always targeted first in fights, nothing new. They're not weak, they need to work with their team; but most are too arrogant to admit needing peel/coverfire, or too hostile to their teamates to the point no-one wants to help them. Frankly I don't care about the pros, all they do is pick the most overpowered/overloaded champions, and they make up less than 1% of the player base.
No point in arguing with ignorance.
Jøkèr (NA)
: I know that they do the "Your Special Shop" kind of deals for every players to have their own unique deals. But I was wondering if they will ever do something like a bigass bargain sale that can last for like one hour or something.
Keep in mind that all of Riots money comes form skins. It's not like Steam where you put some games on sale and home to make it back through the reading market, microtrabsactions. That's why the fact the Hextech crafting system exists is still surprising to me
: Assassins & marksmen, nothing new; however I've also said marksmen need nerfed along with the assassins. 'Divers' are just an alternative name for assassins given that they're just aiming to nuke the adc first; and should also be tuned back.
Uh, what? The assassin update was a nerf across the board for the vast majority of assassin's. On top of that, the marksmen class is regarded as the weakest and least enjoyable role at he moment. You can look at my match history, I play neither assassin nor marksmen, but I can at least recognize they are weak, especially marksmen. Just about every single pro at the moment is complaining about the state of the marksmen class, just take one look at the front page of reddit (the community that Riot actually listens to, this is coming from someone who enjoys both communities.)

: In my own personal opinion, (as an ADC main) I think that Ezreal {{champion:81}} with Braum {{champion:201}} has a much better synergy (since Ezreal Q can also proc Braum passive), because Ezreal hasn't been gutted like Lucian... RIP {{champion:236}} I miss all the fun we used to have together {{sticker:zombie-nunu-bummed}}
Naw, Jayce and Braum have the best synergy
Oglaf (EUNE)

There's no better synergy than the Brayce Botlane, the manliest botlane around. {{champion:126}} {{champion:201}}
: he still is really strong throughout all stages of the game, he pretty much wins every match up top lane
I mean, if you make it to late game, he does fall off there.
Ultîma (NA)
: Bringing his winrate down still doesn't account for the fact that there's basically no real answer to his kit. Playing the poke game or outdueling him is out of the question, so what the hell is someone supposed to do once he's locked in by the enemy team, except hope your jungle will dedicate the entirety of the laning phase to shutting him down? Jayce is still a problem by design, and there needs to be an exploitable window of opportunity in his kit or he'll remain the uncontested king of top lane.
Usually, I tend to just play champions with sustain that can out scale him. Irelia or example is an excellent pick against him. People who can dash on him twice are great, or people with strong CC (Pantheon, Renekton, and Irelia). Jayce also falls off late game, so picking someone who outscales him usually works out well. Also, he does have one exploitable window in his laning phase, the second he swaps to cannon stance, jump on that boy and woop him. Again, he's falling out of favor slowly, and Riot already stated they likely wouldn't be nerfing him. I do agree though that he needs a bigger window to kill him in his laning phase. Personally I think reducing his armor in cannon stance, and further increasing it in hammer stance is a good way to go. That way if he's caught out close range in cannon stance, he can be killed pretty easily.
: Jayce?
Jayce is fine. Preseason changes brought his win-rate down to a nice balanced level, additionally his playrate has also dropped. I think Riot already stated anyways that he wasn't a big enough issue to justify a nerf.
Zerenza (NA)
: Why aren't more items Melee only.
Because 2 of those items are the core items for Jayce. That's one reason I have at least, though Jayce is kinda unique in that sense, being a hybrid and what not.
Oelyk (NA)
: Although maxing is is popular, the effectiveness is only at a one v one perspective and basically just insentivises extra damage on a disengage spell, even more weaknesses.
That's kinda the idea though. You jump in, burst, knockback, and then swap to range and pummel them. In the case of tanky fighters, all you do is disengage and retreat, then rinse and repeat. Also, you can use Jayce's ghosting ability to just run through them and knock them towards your tower, you don't necessarily have to disengage.

: If you maxed E second and used it as often as possible, Yes it's a dream buff. However, if you don't max it second(and you should do this) The mana scaling does not chance till level 13. At that point Jayce has a sizeable base mana pool, PLus probably got a blue buff somewhere in their. His mana gate is mostly in his QE (which I believe scales up to around 130 mana per cast), which has not changed for a while. Hate me for this, But in competitive 50 Extra mana at LEVEL 18(late game) was miniscule. I don't think removing 50 extra mana per cast was suddenly OMG WE CAN SKIP MANAMUNE, I did that before the buff anyhow.
Except it allowed e maxed second to be a popular way to build. Against tanks, e is much more effective, as well as for short trades. Especially with the ratio buff, it meant Jayce had a lot of burst. Jump, proc passive, and knockback and run away with a gate to q without being stopped, courtesy of stronraiders, which became the favored mastery on Jayce for this very reason.

: The meta made Jayce popular(being the hunk he is), his damage basically is the same, just added an extra 100 or so damage late game. His qwe have no damage changes for a while now, so your not really making sense, his abilities are high solo effect, so of course your gonna get owned mid game trying to solo him.
Let me explain why he's strong as a 3 year Jayce main: His scaling mana cost on his e was removed. That's it, pack it up boys we're done here. OK, but actually, let me explain. This buff was a wet dream, and though it doesn't seem massive, it was. Jayce since his conception has been gated by extremely intense mana costs, they still are quite high too, but the buff made them just low enough so that you can make it through laning phase without manamune. This meant a much more powerful early game, and a still powerful mid-game. And especially in competitive play, where games are short, this was perfect for Jayce.

: He is not weak, But the buff were really miniscule, its jsut that a lot of people realized that these buffs could make him op, even though he was already strong, hence back into the meta.
He wasn't super powerful actually (though he was slowly working his way into the meta as others got nerfed), there was one reason he became strong: No scaling mana cost on his e While this made his gameplay feel much better, it meant he was no longer required to purchase manamune, so he can rush damage and stomp in lane and mid-game. I don't like the idea of him being dependent on one item, that's annoying as shit, I'd just rather them revert the ultimate buff they gave him.
: I think i know what Jayces problem is.
Why the hell is everyone going crazy this soon? Keep in mind the dude was perfectly balanced (if not a bit weak) before the ratio buff to his ult and mana cost changes. I don't think gutting the rest of his kit is the best solution, just lower the ratio of his ult. Or better yet, wait to see how pre-season affects him.

: {{champion:122}} C'mere, *ranged top laner*, you asked for this.
: I genuinely feel bad for any nice people who main...
If it's a debonair Jayce though, then he's a classy man. (Jayce players are usually nice people though, unless you rederence the influx of Jayce players post worlds, yeah, they suck)
: Reminder: Every Worlds is the "most boring Worlds ever" with the "least diversity."
I've been around for quite some time, and honestly, this is the best worlds I think I've ever seen. This is by the far the best week 1 at the very least.
