Completely agree with the abuse of the MIA ping being something that needs addressing. MIA spam and "GG Ez" are the two most toxic behaviors in this game imo. I never give people the satisfaction of letting them know it in chat, but these things tilt me immensely. Muting pings works, but it sucks that its the only defense against it, because that player might actually make some useful pings later in the game that I will end up wishing I had seen... Leave the MIA ping in game, just change the icon from being a "?" to something else

Can players in the NFL be fined for excessive celebration? Yes, but its not a mandatory thing that always happens like you implied it was in your other post. Per the NFL rule book the penalty for excessive celebration is 15 yards and an automatic first down (if committed by the defense). That's mandatory and happens every single time where as the fines do not. Also per the rule book - "If the league views the act as highly offensive, large fines and even suspensions can be issued." So the fine is more about someone doing something that the NFL doesn't approve of during their celebration than anything else.

Firstly, players don't generally get fines for celebrations, its usually a yardage penalty on the following play and nothing more (fines are usually a result of players insulting/disrespecting referees or a very dirty hit on another player). Secondly, players talk tons of shit on the field to get in the head of their opponents. They can say pretty much anything they want to and penalties don't start flying around until someone loses it and starts to get physical. Being tough mentally is just as important in professional sports as being physically strong, and if someone can make you play worse by saying something to you and getting in your head they will do it 100% of the time. Having said that, I'd never tell someone to kill themselves. I agree its wrong and I'm a pretty big believer in sportsmanship, but people make this a bigger deal than it is. At the end of the day, its criticism from someone who you don't know. Why give so much weight to what they think? It just doesn't make any sense at all, and anyone who is so fragile that they would commit suicide because of something a complete stranger says to them is probably on borrowed time anyway.

: What Am I Supposed To DO?
I feel your pain. Best advice I can give is to start with the really commonly used runes before purchasing specialized stuff. For example, you can use Health yellows, MR blues, armor from either reds or quints, and then use whatever remaining slots for stuff based on what you are playing. It may not be ideal, but at least they are stats that do something for everybody, and if you run things like that you are more likely to get a decent rune page to use in every game as opposed to if you start buying things like Lethality reds or crit chance stuff which you will only use in certain situations. The other option is to play Miss Fortune as support. She's not the kind of pick I'd play every game regardless of match up, but at least its an option that you already have the runes to pull off and it is good in the right situations.

: A list of things that tilt your support.
25 needs further elaboration, or maybe this needs to be a completely separate point but... "Do not grab the lantern unless you need to" needs to be on this list imo. When I need to recall as Thresh I run to a safe recalling location, throw my lantern into the middle of the creep wave the ADC is farming and then begin my recall. It serves 2 purposes. Firstly, it gives you an escape if bad shit happens within the next few seconds. Secondly, it allows me to collect a few souls from whatever you kill while I'm recalling. All too often what happens next is that the ADC stops farming, runs over and clicks the lantern just for the sake of clicking it. I don't know if this is just a low elo thing or what (I was in Silver all last season), but its very annoying.
: What support
As a general statement I'm not a fan of tank supports in their current state. Some of them can work well enough to be viable, but I just don't see much value in giving your team a frontliner who will be behind in both items and levels compared to what could be coming from Jungle/Top (supports get less income and share exp with ADC, leaving them 2-3 levels behind solo laners in the late game). Having said that, if you are gonna play tank supports I heavily recommend Alistar and Leona because they can temporarily inflate their defensive stats which negates some of the problems i mentioned above. Leo is fine, just make sure not to blind pick her and you'll be okay (she's easily countered by Morg). Whats "best" is really too dependent on the situation to answer, but Morg is very safe into just about anything and if you just want something you can blind pick all the time no matter what I'd start there. Just make sure that you get a Zhonyas pretty quickly. If you cant survive long enough in team fights to get your ult off her value goes way down.
: Twitch support?
I thought the same exact thing lol. I was in the "gotta see it to believe it" category and there I remain. Good luck with your stream though.
: @Riot: want to make support better? Do something about sightstone.
I don't mind the base sight stone as it is. I think its fine in the first half of the game. My problem is once the map opens up, and you start dropping all 3 wards at a time you end up needing to back constantly. Once we're out of lane phase, 2 out of every 3 times I recall its just because i need to get more ward charges. I would like to see some change to red sight stone that would allow us to stay out on the map longer (ex. more charges, longer ward duration, etc.)

Glad to see this post as I've often had similar thoughts when looking at Orianna's kit, but I've never actually tried it in real games for fear of being flamed. Curious if anyone else has actually tried it and what their experience on it was like.

Yeah, except that its not. I'd encourage you to play bot lane for a bit and see if it doesn't change your perspective. We get to deal with that same jungle camping that you referred to, but we also get the pleasure of receiving all those top lane TP plays you mentioned. All while being 2-3 levels behind those junglers and top laners.
: For Supports, Rank is a Joke ...
@OP Fellow support main here, and I've recently come to feel the same way you describe in your opening post. It's a shame because I genuinely enjoy the role but I completely agree its very hard to carry from (at least in bronze and silver, cant speak beyond that) and have been debating abandoning the role when in ranked. I feel like the support role is basically an amplifier for what else is on the team. It doesn't do me any good to increase the volume of the music if the music being played is terrible. Personally I don't care about how things show up on a stat sheet. I think most people who main support are probably not interested in the spotlight so looking good on a scoreboard is w/e. The problem in my eyes isn't with the nature of the role or the scoreboard, its the lack of exp and income. Bot lane being a duo lane is already sharing exp, plus you inevitably will miss out on some at some point while going to set up wards (or backing again to get more wards) which just puts us further behind. It's so hard to carry games when you are consistently 2 to 3 levels behind most of the people on the map. I can deal with the slightly lower income, but until they find a way to make bot laner's exp levels be more in line with everyone else on the map I feel like its going to continue to be a hard role to carry from. I also feel like sightstone needs to be adjusted a bit. It's fine during the early-mid game, but once the map opens up I feel like 50% of the time I back its simply because I need more ward charges.

: It would be nice to have a terrifying "lockdown" champion like thresh that isnt a support
I came here to make suggestions of some top lane tanks that serve that purpose. Then what I realized from reading your post is that what you really want is a champ with all that CC as well as all the damage to kill you with. Simply put, it wont/cant happen. To put all of that in one champion would be OP and bad design. The really heavy CC champs get away with having so much CC precisely because they rely on someone else to do all the damage.
: relic shield hit and miss?
I really wish they would change this as its pretty much the sole reason I don't play a lot more of Thresh. I mean I understand that the execute proc's on melee attacks only and that Thresh has more range on his AA's than most melees do, but that doesn't really make him a ranged champ imo. There's no projectile leaving him and flying towards someone and at the end of his attack his weapon is still in his hands. You wouldn't call someone with a long spear "ranged" just because they can poke someone from farther away than if they had a sword instead would you? Most games treat whips/chain weapons as melee weapons, and Thresh should fall into that imo. Not to mention that his flay passive is designed in such a way to give you favorable trades by boosting the damage on your autos. Having to constantly blow that bonus damage on killing minions seems counter-intuitive to how his kit was intended to work. It's only gotten worse since the last change to relic shield (gives charges more often than before). And god forbid you try to blow a charge and fail causing an ADC to miss a creep. It's such a dumb source of toxicity in the game that could so easily be avoided. I pull Thresh out in games every so often when the urge strikes, and every time I do I get frustrated by the fact that it feels like there is no good starting gold item for him (relic doesn't fit for reasons already mentioned, and the others don't give him the durability/sustain i feel he needs). The result ends up being that he goes back onto the inactive champs roster after that one game. I've debated just starting Doran's Shield on him and playing hella agro early game, but it feels like a gamble and I always talk myself out of it.

My question is when are you going to get this onto DirectTV so I can watch this on my television? I'm a very dedicated fan, but like many others, I live in rural america where all of the ISP's come with a limited amount of data usage. Streaming 6 hours of video off the web 3 days a week isn't very feasible for those like myself, and a purchasable package (like NFL Sunday Ticket for example) would be very preferable. I firmly believe this is the next major step you need to take in your continuing efforts to grow "E-sports" as a genre, but I've yet to ever hear anything indicating a move in this direction.

: Is Overwatch really that good?
The Origins edition is 60 bucks, but that's an optional upgrade. You can get just the basic version of the game for 40, and if you look around enough can probably find some small discount off of that. Amazon prime members get something like 10% off all preorders for new released games. Green man gaming also usually has pretty good pricing on new releases as well. Last week was an open beta (meaning anyone who wants to try it can), if you were interested why didn't you try it for free when you could? Either way, its the first game Blizzard has made in 20 years that isn't a spin-off of the Warcraft/Starcraft/Diablo franchises. That alone should make you curious enough to see what they come up with and want to check it out if you usually enjoy Blizzard games. Good luck with your decision.

I don't want you in my games, I can tell you that much. Here's why... 1. You talk way too much. You said more in that one game, than I've said in a week's worth of games, and most of what you said provides zero value to your team. From the looks of it, you probably died twice while you were typing, so don't use chat unless its something worth saying. In addition, if I put useful info in chat like "Vayne no flash" or "enemy red 7:20", I'm putting those things there so that the team can refer to them later on to be able to track certain things. If you then come behind me with 10 lines of "1v1 me bro" and "get rekt noob", then it pushes useful information off of the chat log and makes it harder to find it later when its needed. 2. Muting is an option that solves some of those problems, but I wont use it. For all i know you might actually say something useful later in the game, and if so then I need to be able to see it, so I'm forced to tolerate all the rest of the nonsense whether I want to or not. 3. Dont ask for 1v1's. This is a team vs team game. No one (other than you) cares if your e-peen is bigger than someone else's. If a jungler ganks for you and gets you a lead in a game, you are expected to use that lead to capture objectives and put your team even farther ahead. It's disrespectful of you towards any teammates who helped get you there, if you waste that opportunity by having a pissing contest in the river, challenging people to duels and stuff. If you are one of those people that just lives for 1v1's then MOBA's are the wrong game genre for you. Go play fighting games or RTS games. Look on the bright side, you could have done worse. At least you aren't a ping spammer or one of those a-holes who says "gg ez" at the end of games. There's a special layer of hell reserved just for those people, its right below the one for child molesters and just above the one for Justin Bieber fans.

All i can say is, you should learn the difference between a non-profit and a charity. Giving money that pays peoples salaries to sit next to a phone is not a charity.
Irrelevant. I wont down vote your original post because its your opinion and obviously you should be entitled to it. Having said that, I feel compelled to ask why you care? We play league because we like the game, not because it makes the world a better place. We pay Riot $$ because they make skins that make us look more bad ass than we really are or somehow otherwise increase the enjoyment of the game for us when we play it. At that point the transaction is completed. You got what you paid for. As long as Riot is pocketing enough of that $$ to be able to continue running the game/providing necessary services to its customers, why do you care what they do with their disposable income? It's not your money to spend anymore. Mind your own business and get over it. I would have more issue with Riot if they were advertising everywhere that they were supporting a cause, but behind the scenes had really only donated $10 to it. My issue with that scenario would have been with the deception involved, but they aren't waving around a LGBT flag in plain sight everywhere I look, so why should I care how much/little they have actually given to LGBT related stuff?
