: lol, to which part are you objecting
: i pretty much only play jungle so i cant really say how i would feel playing a champion i have never played, but i have won most of the games i forget smite, you just have to learn to play around it, sure its a pain in the ass but you can still win. If i by chance forget smite i don't want the game to give the chance to give me a do-over il play the game out and see how it goes. What happens is people don't know how to play as a smiteless jungler which is why they lose not because they forgot smite.
No. Just no.
: >Hardcore jungle main >Not having smite default every single game When will the lies end
the issue is that as a hardcore jungle main I'm so used to having Smite that whenever I play a game outside the jungle, I'll forget to switch it back the next time I play jungle.

: If there is no smite on the team when game starts, treat it like unsealed spellbook where everyone gets a chance to swap 1 summoner for smite becore leaving base, and have it be announced globally with an announcer callout as well. 1 swap per team to smite if no one had it selected. Once you buy items and leave base, option is removed.
Now that is a good idea!
: no, if youre not smart enough to bring smite thats on you and should be punished for it i dont want the game to add more get out jail free cards
Okay, so let's say you're playing Garen top and your J4 jungler forgets smite. You get camped by the enemy Kindred and your jungler can't do shit because he's been executed 3 times and Kindred has been constantly invading him. J4 can't do anything to help you, you go 2/12 and lose the game at 22 minutes. It's not just the jungler who gets fucked for forgetting smite. It's his whole team. They shouldn't be forced to lose because of something as simple as forgetting smite.

I ended up becoming really good at a few champions (read: Hecarim is broken rn) during the pre-season. I ended up doing incredibly well in my placements - I went 7W/3L and got at least an S- in 5 of those games. I was really proud of myself, thinking "wow, I should place high bronze and then be able to climb to silver in like a month" > > Nope, Bronze V. Dreams crushed. > > Now I get that you're supposed to place lower than where you ended last season. That makes total sense to me. It just begs the question: > > "If I can win 7 out of 10 games and place at the worst rank possible, why even try?" > > I could have literally intentionally fed and lost every single game, and placed in exactly the same spot. Why did I bother concentrating, or focusing so hard on counterpicks and lane matchups, when there is zero motivation for me to do well? Like at least make me B4. Or perhaps set the lowest possible rank one can place at B4, that way there's still room to drop. > > My ultimate suggestion is that players who ended in Bronze should place anywhere from Bronze 4 to Bronze 1 in the next season, based on their performance in placements. Y'know... make them actually _mean something___, for God's sake. It is flawed and very badly, my guess is riot puts the biggest spenders at the top. That is my guess, money talks. I went same 7 wins, 3 losses, went with no deaths in four of those games and had a positive KDA, and teamwork in all but one game, I think I had 1 death over my kills which I still did great in and I get BV. I just started playing too maybe 5 months ago, landed silver 2 before the reset. Riot favours players, anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool. And the exploits I have seen in the time I have been playing is crazy. Map and ward exploits being the most common.
Biggest spenders at the top? As funny as it would be if that were true, I've dropped about 1k on the game on this account, so that isn't the case.
: I went 1-9 and I placed into Bronze 1. Figure THAT out. Edit: With some of the worst games I have ever played, too.
I placed in exactly that way my first season, I think. I assume you're placing for the first time?

That's a flaw in their design perspective as a whole. Although it sucks that you feel you wasted 10 games of league you still gain increased lp, so just climb. The real problem you should be worrying about though is the fact that you "tried your ass off" for 10 games and got Bronze V. *yikes* Gotta learn how to play the game mate. Your game play has been considered on par with bronze V players and you got placed where you deserve. Having bronze 5 as the lowest rank is just part of the system. So if you want to think about it another way, imagine that your placements was a chance for you to kick ass and place higher. You played like a bronze V, you got put in bronze V. Because you went 7/3 your mmr is higher making it easier to climb out, if you inted you would have lower lp gains.
"Your game play has been considered on par with bronze V players and you got placed where you deserve." (My MMR is B4. OK.)

Wow. You have quite the superiority complex. The deal is, I did horribly last season. Atrocious. However, I did really well this season. I "tried my ass off" and ended up winning 7 out of 10 placements. The fact that I got B5/0LP is related to my performance last season, NOT this season. So perhaps go elsewhere with comments like "yikes Gotta learn how to play the game mate."
: I won 7/10 provisional matches. 4 of these games I received an S- or higher. I ended my provisionals and was placed in B5. Alternatively, I played my provisionals on my Smurf account. I had to buy 5 champs immediately to play ranked. First time playing Ranked on the smurf account: I won 6/10 provisional matches. 2 of these games I received an S- or higher. I ended my provisionals and was placed in S3. If you have the time to compare my match histories and explain this: Mister Modesty (my B5 placed main account) Eat Rammus Soup (my S3 placed smurf account)
Same thing happened to me. Utter bullshit.

That's a flaw in their design perspective as a whole. Agreed, that's what steered me off the ranked systeam my first new season. I went from playing with plats in silver 1 to playing with bronze in silver 4 because everyone "has to be" shifted down. I won 8/10 placements but got treated like every other player with a year of game time even though I had spent so many months practicing and learning the game before diving into ranked the season before. It made it all pointless and made me bitter. Nevertheless, I tried playing their game but bronze will be bronze so I dropped to silver 5 because I couldn't get these monkeys to coordinate for anything. Could literally solo my top lane push up to the enemy nexus and still lose with our team getting 0 towers or dragons without me.
My favorite part is that all these people who have managed to climb above silver think that they have this divine superiority over Bronze players - we are the plebs, they are the deities of the world. It's humorous. We're all people. All these players played at a Bronze level at some point.
Hópe (NA)
: Lol at these people trying to justify what happened. If you're bronze 4 and you went 7-3 in your placements you should atleast earn a hard bronze 2. Getting placed bronze 5 shows the system has major flaws. There shouldnt BE any placements then.
: It seems that the main issue is that low elo players don't understand what placements are for. It is to get you into ranked. If you perform like a bronze player you will be placed in bronze. Considering high elo is shifted down; every elo has to be shifted down. Unless you do well in your placements and get ranked higher stop complaining. Every season low elo players whine about how they went "7/3 in placements". It doesn't matter what your record is. It takes into account your previous mmr, how well you play, and which games you win.
My point is - there should be a difference in outcome between me trying my ass off and doing well, and me inting every single game. There is NONE. I could have gone 0/53981 in every single game, and placed exactly where I did when i went 7/3 and got S in 5 games. That's bad design on Riot's end, no buts about it. : Whats not fair for you? You have bronze 5 mmr with the added that everyone is getting a drop. Lets say you were Silver 3 with bronze 2 mmr and you went 8/2 in your games and you got put silver 1/ gold 5 wow thats totally fair right haha! I was plat 2 and i dropped to gold 1 and all challenger/master players got put between plat 1 and diamond 4 after playing more than a thousand games some two thousand or more, but if the 10 games only mattered that would be so op. So with you having about a 25% winrate overall last season id say nothing wrong with just 1 rank drop.
The thing is, I don't have B5 MMR. Don't know where you got that idea. My point is that Bronze elo has such a wide range of skill levels that you should have a greater freedom in placement. You could get high silver players who completely screwed up their placements, or you could get lifetime B5 players who placed exactly where they were last season. Also, NOT everyone is getting a drop. Riot explicitly states that it's entirely possible to GAIN ranking in placements. Get your facts straight before you try to show them off.
