: > #2 People buy new shit for their new account after they lose old account to a ban. I don't personally know anyone who would be willing to buy things from a company they truly feel wronged by. For example, if I felt my regular grocery store was saying they price matched goods, and didn't follow through, I would not continue to patron that particular store. If I were banned in a game, and I felt the ban was unjustified, why in the blue hell would I want to buy anything and support a company that I felt is in the wrong?
The same reason people go back to a drug dealer that stiffed them. They are addicted to the product. There is more than ample research out there showing the addiction pathways of video games. Scientifically proven by hooking individuals up to machines and watching their dopamine spike. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/the-compass-pleasure/201110/video-games-can-activate-the-brains-pleasure-circuits-0 https://www.livescience.com/17033-gamer-brain-reward-system.html https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3039876/

I was with you until you presented the idea that they do it for their business portfolio. While I doubt that, I do think its disgusting to police social interactions to the extent that they do. I just think they do it because a lot of people complain about toxicity, so they thought it would be better to do something about it, rather than keep losing players due to it. Unfortunately, its spiraled from the tribunal, to what we have today. And then they get TONS of players who support it, so they keep it going, thinking its the right thing to do for their business. Less players quitting the game because they get flamed all the time and cant do anything about it (something i can understand, but really dont care about), and possibly new accounts being made by players who were permabanned, and may even buy shit again for their new accounts. Its like an added bonus lol. Of course money is the bottom line for a company, but i doubt it is as malicious as you suggest.
> and possibly new accounts being made by players who were permabanned, and may even buy shit again for their new accounts. Its like an added bonus lol. This is exactly what I just said ... they have incentive to ban players because it makes their business portfolio look better. #1 It appears the game is growing due to new accounts being created. #2 People buy new shit for their new account after they lose old account to a ban. That is literally what I just said lol.
: His reasoning is that he was punished for the sum of all his offenses, so if he invalidates even only one offense, the punishment is not deserved anymore, the sum goes back beyond the threshold. My gut feeling is obviously that the reasoning is flawed, but it's hard to pinpoint exactly why in a rational argument... Maybe you might help?
It really isn't even that flawed of a thought process. If the general premise is that you would need to have X number of toxic games to get a report scorecard ... X = threshold. If he can invalidate even one of the offenses, he is now below the threshold, invalidating the punishment. 3 strikes and you are out .... but the umpire has verified you only swung 2x ... are you still out? Or do you have another swing left before you are out?
: > Because this is the most ridiculous one. And since they stack it still is just as important. Then why aren't you posting the other game given during that penalty as well? When a player is penalized the system attempts to give them evidence that may help them reform. You can't look at a single piece of evidence and ignore the others.
I think the more important question is ... why does Riot believe it is their job to parent the community? I have been gaming for many years (I am older than most of your employees) - Riot is the first company I have ever seen act as Thought/Communication Police/Parents. (especially with an automated system that detects chat) People are pretty well set in their ways by the time they can legally log into your game without parental consent. Riot is not trying to "help" people become less toxic. It has found an excuse to ban accounts, causing it's business portfolio to look better. 1. More new users to report. The game is growing! 2. New skin revenue due to lost accounts. If Riot truly wanted to weed out toxicity - it would use hardware bans.

: Yeah I don't buy it man. Sure he might survived, but I guarantee Darius took at least 30-50% damage. As a dar main myself who had built lots of Mr against being before, I can testify that veigar can easily deal 40-50% my house even with just 1000-1200 AP in a regular rotation.
I was just about to go download the video off my match history to make a few second video for you ... but it says the video expired even though it has only been 2 days ....

Yep. Recent Games. Like 2 games ago.

: At least make it 3/5
how can you have 3/5 with only 4 champions to vote. Do you even think? A remake with 5 people means that the 5th never actually disconnected.
Davaken (EUW)
: But you didn't give us the amount of games you played. Just some random winrates. If someone has a shitty winrate over 100+ games then it might be a boosted account or something. Just because you ended up playing with two bad players doesn't mean the entire match making system is broken. And if you're asking for a division below bronze then Rito has got your back with the upcoming ranked changes to season 8. I've always felt like the entire mmr system is a bit wanky anyway, so I feel like it will be a nice change.
I know its a bit late ... but i am not really asking for a rank below bronze ... im asking for there to actually be a bronze win ratio. Currently only 10% of players are bronze ... while nearly 60% are silver. 25% gold ... then plat / diamond are about 4 - 5 % It shouldnt be like that ... it should be more like 40% bronze / 30% silver / 25% gold .....
Davaken (EUW)
: You want matchmaking to consider winrates instead of actual ranks? Because if so, that sounds like a terrible idea.
that is not what i said - I am asking how someone with a terrible win ratio can keep such a high MMR for so long. It does not make sense. Bronze MMR ranges from 0 to 1150. How come we are only utilizing 985 - 1150 for bronze. the MMR ranges for bronze and silver should be much bigger as to split the players better. You should lose more MMR when you lose - and you should gain more MMR when you win. This will put people in appropriate ranges much quicker.
: ***
If this was true ... ( which it isnt ) and I will explain why. He and I both started with the same MMR ( brand new accounts ) - neither of us used a duo to boost our MMR high. The difference between his Placements and mine. I won 9/10 placements .... he won 1/10 placements.... I kept a pretty good win ratio ( think im around 66% currently .... while they are at 14 and 26. As i stated before ... I could understand this if he was plat last season and he is on the move downward from a really high MMR. But that is not the case. - Review both accounts. It literally makes no sense.
Kai Guy (NA)
: Because matchmaker does not care about you or your individual games. Get shafted with bad teammates? bummer, they are in that mmr and their MMR is lowerd for the loss. Ultimately Their bad win rates will result in them no longer being in the MMR you play at.
And I agree with what you are saying - but what I am bitching about is ... because Riot is willing to place Silvers and Bronzes together regardless of MMR ... and 70% of the community is in Bronze or Silver... the MMR only really works for Plat + Players. Everyone else is just in this GIGANTIC bracket.

: YOU LITERALLY GET FREELO (Master Yi Jungle) [League of Legends]
Yi's win rate took a huge nose dive with this last patch. I believe he is like 40th out of 48 jglers.

: These champions need to be addressed fast
i have to agree on Mundo / LB / Brand. Brand Support should not do as much damage as it is doing. Brand mid ... OK - but Brand Support should not. LeBlanc ... Yeah .... champion is redic right now. Mundo ... can 1 v 1 Yi while building full tank. And still does massive damage. Very few tanks currently can 1 v 1 a Yi that is fed ( mundo can tho )
: i looked at op.gg i see nothing wrong. dude. look at the amount of games. like i can count the number of games on my hands its so little. i mean tbh they probably should stop playing ranked for the day. But matchmaking wise, nothing wrong.
care to elaborate what you are seeing? I'm interested to know how you see nothing wrong? **Viewing the 26% win ratio**. This person came out of Promo's as silver ... even though they won 1/10 games ( 10% ) ... and they had never had a previous MMR to boost them. (I could see it if they were gold 2 last season.... and now they are silver ... but this is a brand new account. Viewing the 14% win ratio. This person is in promos's has only won 1/7 games. How is this player not being pushed toward bronze level games? This is my very point. How is the match making system working ... if people have this low of a win ratio... and are still being placed with players who have a high win ratio? Shouldn't the system be moving players with this poor of a win rate to bronze level games? Also, if the system is working ... why am I placed with Gold players 2 games prior to this game.... ( And I didn't lose any games in between to be dropped down in MMR )

: Considering LGBT members are not represented in 99% of media, they certainly deserve more representation.
I would say the opposite. "An earlier report published in April 2011 by the Williams Institute estimated that 3.8 percent of Americans identified as gay/lesbian, bisexual, or transgender: 1.7 percent as lesbian or gay, 1.8 percent as bisexual, and 0.3 percent as transgender." I feel like their is a lot more than 3.8% of the media time that talks about LGBT issues.
: Got Banned 14 days flaming a support who left bot to die at 3 minutes in, should this be banworthy?
If you got banned for 14 days - it means riot has already warned you with a chat ban 1 time in the last 3 months. Every 3 months you fall off 1 tier in punishment. So if you got a chat restriction - then you were good for 3 months. And got in trouble in your 4th month again.... you would get another chat restriction - not a 14 day ban. Toxicity is part of League. The game design in and of itself creates toxicity. Riot realizes this and gives you a little room as i described above.
: But the thing is, OP didn't say he "hates" LGBT people. He didn't say he thinks less of them or that he doesn't think it should be accepted. In other words, he's not discriminating them. In fact, he is the one being discriminated because his posts are being removed. The only thing he's asking for is equal treatment for both LGBT and non-LGBT folks on the boards and I'm assuming that's what LGBT is all about? Equality?
lolouie (NA)
: Decided to come back after a 3 month break and...
Were you feeding? If so that is toxic behavior. Accidental or not - the result is the same.
: The only thing controversial is the fact you're asking them to remove content like that in the first place. This shit should be normalized already and the fact that you think it is controversial to talk about asking for representation in the game seems pretty ridiculous to me. What they are doing doesn't effect you unless you have a problem with those groups of people existing, and if you do then you should reevaluate your life choices/opinions because it's a damn right to be respected by other human beings and to alienate people because of how you personally feel about it, whatever your thoughts on it are seems pretty unjust. We're literally celebrating the diversity of League, in other words: Get over yourself.
this doesn't really make sense though. Do I as a white straight man receive representation in the game? Do Christians / Catholics / Muslims have representation in the game? And here I was thinking Pink Taric was LGBT representation. I always called it "SanFran Taric" - and people could name the skin I was referring too
: Where's the evidence? I tried looking it up on Google and didn't get any hits. I honestly do not believe you, how would he advocate illegal drug usage while being part of the pro scene? There should be articles popping up immediately when I type in "QTpie and drugs" but nothing happens. To me that seems to be fabricated to suit a goal.
https://streamerclips.com/twitch/imaqtpie/SpoopyGiftedRadishYouDontSay Odd, it took me less than 30 seconds to find this. You sure you looked bro?
: And how do you distinguish between the two siblings that have to share the same computer with that method? Or between all the players that visit an internet cafe? The phone number is their attempt to limit smurfing, figuring most people have one number and they'll link it to their main.
Easy way to do this would be champions played. Though I understand their are pitfalls with my method also .... The huge pitfall with Riots current method is Textplus / Pinger and a ton of other apps that give you a free phone number. I currently have 3 phone numbers you can call right now ... and all ring through to 1 singular phone.
: Exp in jungle needs to increase past a certain point (lvl 8ish)
I believe the jg goes up in exp also at lvl 7? The problem is you are so far behind that ganking is nearly impossible. I mean when you are lvl 6 ... and the bot lvl is 7. and your mid / top are 8 or 9. Ganks are really not worth the risk of dying and feeding a lane.
: Exp in jungle needs to increase past a certain point (lvl 8ish)
Yeah ... they completely over did the nerf. My common problem now is the mid laner gets lvl 6 when im about lvl 4. So they enemy tends to ward my JG at lvl 5. Then as soon as they Ding lvl 6 they come ult me ... and since im lvl 4. I have literally no counterplay. This most recent JG nerf was way way way overboard. Its really insane.
: What in God's name would you like them to do?
Several Things could be done. IP / MAC address screening. yes I know VPN for IP and MAC spoof. But a VPN causes massive lag unless you pay high dollar. MAC address spoofing is not near as commonly done. You could also pull part numbers from PC's. IE Video card / Mother Board - so on and so forth. There are many things you could do to end smurfing in clash.
: You made a smurf account, got finished with placements and have a 61% win rate. The system is trying to gauge where you actually belong, which is also why your LP gains are so high for every win. IDK why you're making this thread, this probably isn't your first smurf account and this is how it always works.
It's not actually how it works... http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=Veig%C3%A0r Silver 4 100 LP / 20W 9L Win Ratio 69% Series In Progress 1,376 MMR Silver 2 Your MMR is higher than average for your league. Gj! When I only had 15 games under my belt I had closer to an 80% win ratio. I have yet to have to play with any plats. I believe the highest I have played against was a couple of Gold 5's as a SIlver 4. The original OP got completely screwed in his match making, and Riot needs to fix it. Silver 2 should be up against no higher than gold 1. And that is still a stretch.
Necrozard (EUW)
: It's not perfect but it's effective
How is it effective? Literally 1 stop in the android playstore can yield you 3 - 5 new phone numbers in minutes. It is much much easier to download textplus / pinger than it is to run through a VPN and spoof your MAC address .....

: The game has become pay to win ever since BE came.
I have to agree with the OP - The rate at which you get BE is laughable. With that said though - you should only have 3 champions per roll that you are playing in ranked. Even the best players in the world are only bringing 20 - 40 champions to ranked. Yet, I see many of my bronze and silver friends who have played 60 - 80 different champions in ranked... and understand why they are bronze and silver. While I agree BE comes too slow - If you want to win ... learn to play 3 champions in your main role - and 3 champions in your secondary role.

: Platinum's shouldn't play vs Silvers in ranked games.
Just to Fill in some of the blanks. The OP stats are: Silver 2 100 LP / 11W 4L Win Ratio 73% 1,439 MMR Silver 1 Normal. Now Your MMR depends on how you play! Note he also has had no previous ranks. The Plat Players: Platinum 5 71 LP / 305W 309L Win Ratio 50% Corki's Captains Platinum 5 52 LP / 158W 165L Win Ratio 49% Dr. Mundo's Commanders

: Platinum's shouldn't play vs Silvers in ranked games.
So I looked at the game he is referring to. Team 1: Silver / Gold / Gold / Silver / Gold Team 2: Gold / Gold / Plat / Gold / Plat. My question is ... I didn't think a Silver 2 could be matched with a Plat 5... Just like I didn't think a Gold Player could be Queue'd with a Bronze player?
: Except when the enemy jungler shows up two levels ahead of even you (which is what they tried to stop btw) and kills you. THEN it’s the junglers fault, right?
I'd have to say this would be your fault. because you should not be behind the jg in exp. Literally this was the biggest exp nerf to the jungle since Season 5. I used to get lvl 6 off my second Red.... Now my second red gives me level 4. And that is with getting 2/3 Scuddles.

Current the divide is that cosmetics are monetary purchases only (if you want a specific one), and occasional rewards otherwise (through crafting and chests). Making every available through IP means that the most frequent players -- often people who buy a lot of content -- can now use their huge IP reserves to buy all the content they want for free. It's a potentially sizeable cut to Riot's income, unless you can find a solution to that problem.
