There are disgustingly basic needs in the roster (Like: a female black champion, an actual crone, or more females who are truly monsters). How is that a need? I can't believe you manage to bear it with such grace and bravery. You truly are a hero. > What happened to champions like Rek'Sai, Kalista, and Illaoi? They are still there. > Those were amazing, diverse champs that I was wholeheartedly excited for. A champion cannot be diverse. Diversity is an attribute a group may or may not have, not that of an individual. Congrats on your understanding of basic English. > When I saw Neeko in a Youtube thumbnail, I thought she was some Xayah fanart. She's that fucking boring. She has the same eyes, albeit 20x too big. She's just another cute girl character when we literally didn't need one, all but a handful of League's girls are oozing sex appeal. She's a lizard person, buddy, and the art team executed well on that concept. > Riot, you're letting your female playerbase down in unforgivable ways. You may not forgive Riot, but I would wager players who actually play the game, male and female, are interested in her gameplay first, the art and lore second and this nonsense you're babbling about... well, probably not at all. > I've been following your scandals regarding the treatment of female employees, and I, personally, am tremendously let down. : The sort of diversity you speak of has no place in the creative process because it gimps creativity with the need to satisfy a quota. The game doesn't need any of the things you suggest it needs to have artists that can pursue whatever design they want to make. It's disingenuous to make this the core of the artistic process. Another little underrated game I love champions this idea of diversity, you may have heard of it it's called Overwatch. While I like the way the game plays most of the characters are just paper thin stereotypes that are good on a surface level but don't really have any depth, which is fine because Overwatch doesn't really care about telling stories. League however does so the writers and artists must have complete control over the output. I do like that you only mention female champs can be diverse in your post (Rek'Sai, Kalista, and Illaoi a female black champion, an actual crone, or more females who are truly monsters). Can male champions not be more diverse then the warrior archetypes we've been getting?

Yeah, probably. {{sticker:sg-ahri-2}} I mean, even when it comes to "average" looking female champions, like {{champion:133}} {{champion:222}} {{champion:163}}, I'd rather play Quinn or Jinx over Taliyah--because in terms of personality that complements their appearance, Quinn is more mature (and looks more like me), and Jinx is a lot of fun...meanwhile Taliyah is...? : Does the golden rule apply to RIOT Games employees?
I read this article and my jaw literally dropped. You'd hope the companies you love are better than this, but it explains so, so much. I was honestly pissed to see so much garden-variety sexism in that post. Like, common stuff that EVERYONE knows is sexist now apparently is commonplace at Riot. And apparently, if you don't have the luck to be on a team with the 20% of female employees, some asshole may just walk up and fart on you. What is that? How is that okay to do to anyone at a place of employment? I'm honestly just shocked that you're not being sued to pieces over some of this stuff. It's bad. This is all super anecdotal, but I really wonder when "Lacy" worked at Riot. I remember a couple years ago when champions were DIVERSE and AWESOME. Kalista, Rek'Sai, Ekko, Kindred, and Illaoi all got released pretty much in a row, and it was a golden era for me. All of those champions are awesome and bring unique experiences and perspectives. I remember being so excited that League was finally becoming more representative. I've noticed lately that we don't have diverse champions like that anymore, and it really makes me sad. Kai'sa is a bad, boring champion, and I think any woman who felt comfortable speaking her mind would have caught that v-neck snafu before it happened. I know Akali and Irelia are reworks and have to maintain a certain consistency, but.... MAN. It was a bit disappointing to see these bland, pretty female champs all in a row (I take it back Irelia I love you TT_TT). Like, as a support main I was pretty excited for Pyke, but not HALF as excited as when Rek'Sai was teased. I remember listening to her entire VO with childish GLEE. Anyway, this has gone into a long ramble. Hire more women. Treat them better. Get your heads out of your asses. Thanks.

Also, STILL, where are these COWARDS who are downvoting my comments and not coming forward? Grow some balls or get out of here and stop trolling.

: You are acting like there is some concerted effort to prevent a black woman from being in the roster. It will come eventually, but if you try to fucking force it, all you will do is get a shoddy piece of tokenistic crap that nobody wants.

It will come eventually, but if you try to fucking force it, all you will do is get a shoddy piece of tokenistic crap that nobody wants. There's no concerted effort, but there is sheer laziness. It is sheer laziness not to have a female black champ in the game at this point. We have damn near everything else under the sun. Additionally, Illaoi could have been black. Taliyah could have been black. Karma could have been black. The fact they are not is due to concerted effort and white ideals of beauty. It's not coincidence that we have three outright black black champions that are all MALE, while we have four nebulously brown females. https://qz.com/india/1072367/skin-lightening-the-dangerous-obsession-thats-worth-billions/ Take a bite at this, maybe it'll help explain what I'm trying to say here. Let women be black. Let women be every beautiful color they're born with, and stop lightening them for no reason.
: @op, And i don't mean this as arguing for or against, but what kind of character would you like this woman to be? A mage? Fighter, bruiser, juggy? What lane do they play in? What about region they are from

Because if Rito were to make a black champion, they shouldn't set out with that in mind. They should make a champion and then just decide that she could be black, because that's how you avoid crybabies who whine about "tokenism". Don't make a "black character". Make a character who happens to be black.

: A big thanks and appreciation to Reav3 and all the champion team!
Singed may not need a gameplay update, but hot damn does he need a visual update. Desperately. WHAT IS THE SHIELD FOR?

MY UPVOTE. YOU NEED IT. I hate it when Tali, Karma, and Illy get dragged into these fights. I love these champions and appreciate the diversity they bring. Also, brown champions and the groups they represent also deserve representation, and to have characters like them. HOWEVER. Black women need representation, too. I also find it unsettling that Lucian, Ekko, and Pyke are undoubtably black, but we have like four female champions who /might/ look black if you squint real hard. It seems tied up pretty hard in issues with gender, beauty norms, and race. **Here's a better question to every person who downvoted this thread:** What would League LOSE by adding a black woman to its roster? EDIT: Pyke too.

: {{champion:10}} {{champion:56}} {{champion:36}} {{champion:31}} {{champion:9}} {{champion:42}} {{champion:72}} are champions with one or more legendaries skin awaiting full scale VGU. {{champion:77}} is on tier one list, his ultimate skin will be remade from 0, just like the upcoming {{champion:81}} VGU's Pulsefire Ezreal.

OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Now that you've reminded me, I've gotta wonder if Pulsefire was a big deciding factor in Ez's update. Lots of champs are in a rougher state IMO (Fidd and Mundo need at VU at least as bad), but don't have the worst Ultimate skin in the game, lol. And aren't as popular. Edit: Mind though, Ez' ISN'T getting a full VGU. Full VU, but they said they should only be changing his W. And I guess I wouldn't be surprised if it were still a skillshot anyway, I kinda feel that's Ez' thing.

: Please not Pool Party Cait
If the PP skins are supposed to be fan service, the male PP champions need to be hot male champions in swimsuits. Give me PP Talon in a banana hammock and I'm out. If they're not, push the damn envelope on your female designs, Riot.
: Reportable?
Absolutely. We can't have a healthy game if people aren't willing to bite the bullet for a less-favored role.

: Someone earlier apparantly """""leaked""""" the next upcoming skins
They gonna run out of champions to do "Dead Alpha" skins for if it's just zombies. It doesn't read as too plausible to me, but eh. Also gtfo of here with that SG team WITH NO MEN. STAR GUARDIAN TARIC OR NOTHING, RITO. Sol is slated to get a skin this year, and I do think people would be disappointed if it wasn't something cool. Likewise, you just made me remember it's been a while since Nami got a skin, she could use one imo :D
Zendrô (NA)
: Pool Party Zoe's VFX for her Q coconut and E beach ball are a bit too watery.
MarcoDeff (EUW)
: Pool Party Rek'Sai and Taric Chromas are the ugliest that i have ever seen in the entire game.
Opinions are butts, everyone's got one. I actually kinda dig the pink. It almost makes me want PP Rek'Sai. Haha, almost. And the violet is just her natural coloring on her PP skin. I will echo the disappointment that Rek hasn't gotten a proper skin in so long. I thought she was supposed to be getting one soon?
: Ahh, thanks, homie. It does my soul good to hear this.

It's deserved. I can't emphasize enough how much her story drew me in. I might have gotten around to playing her without it because she's flashy and just looks like fun, but that writing made me wanna FIGHT FOR THE FIRST LANDS RIGHT NOW. (Also, thanks for her "This dance kills despots!" line. It just makes me happy.)
