: Teamfight Tactics Beta Pass Update
All I want is for it to stop being possible to fight the same person twice in a row. I've gotten knocked out of games simply because the one comp out of 6 left that I can't fight I get put against repeatedly.
: This cant be the actual splash art for the champion ....
I didn't notice how much curlier her hair is in the teaser, I'd really prefer that! Also, I think what's missing from the splash is a well thought-out background. It feels like Star Guardian Lux or Arcade Sona. Beyond looking dull, a big explosion doesn't progress her character? I'm getting no "mastery of the elements" from that. She isn't Vi/Jinx.
: I also felt like her hair really missed the mark. It's not just the style to me either, it's the platinum silver color. Qiyana isn't selling me "jungle queen of a secret society of shamans." She's selling me "Lady Gaga in the Jungle."
I feel like most of the design of her hair was so that she didn't look so much like Sivir. I do realize this is fantasy, but as someone with curly/kinky hair, I'd love to see more diversity in hair type. I realize it's harder to model in game, but I'd really respect an attempt at this point. Heck, give Annie an afro! It doesn't necessarily even need to be an ethnic thing, but Qiyana having giant salon curls and bangs is odd to me.
: Qiyana: Awesome visuals, but one big missed opportunity.
> Compare to Illaoi, who sells her culture through her unusual earrings, makeup, and hairstyle, causing her face to very clearly reflect her character and her origin. Personally, I feel the difference between Illaoi and Qiyana from a design standpoint is that Illaoi wasn't meant to be attractive. That isn't to say Illaoi is unattractive, but she's a tall, beefy, powerful woman that went far and away thematically from the Syndras and Jannas of Runeterra. As such, they had a bit more liberty to make her different because her selling point wasn't "she's hot". Unfortunately, it seems, whenever the goal of a character is more leaning toward sex appeal, the less there is room for "different". Jinx is honestly still their biggest accomplishment on that front. Illaoi still isn't all that popular despite really fun visual effects and a rich character. That being said, I don't think Riot NEEDS every character to be popular these days. A lot of people have played this game for years and are set in their mains, it's much more likely to make me budge off Lux if there is a niche character I really identify with over another wide-appealing character that has me saying not much more than "oh look, a new champion".

: While I don't disagree with your intention here: Be made aware of your social score card, I am curious as to why you felt you needed to go down that rabbit hole with the team. In any given match up, I am called the best or worst support ever and sometimes simply ignored. Compare, bot lane in this case, against any two games with the same jg/adc/supports on both sides. The outcomes are generally very different. Some ADC's are very aggro and enjoy a support to go all in with them, some are aggro but not map aware, some like to just sit under tower and just farm. Meanwhile, you have the same characteristics with the jg. In my case, a support main, I have to quickly gauge my team and constantly monitor the map. Even then, where I think the jg is coming in for a gank is just a "hi, Im morale support spectating you.". Sometimes, I need to keep an eye on everyone's summoners spells and mana. And if that dragon has been there more than 3 minutes, expect a gank soon - watch your back. Many times I say to myself: "ADC, you are ranged, don't be there" or "You have an ult for that". Stopping to type that out to a player breaks the rattle and hum that is rhythm of the game; it may even enrage a player seemingly not doing well - and they may have already chastised themselves that action. What I generally do is let the jg lead the charge on neutral objectives and call out their ganks (laners, too). If they aren't ganking and not setting up for neutrals, I just ward what I can. If they roam bot side beyond the river, I generally float their direction should they need help - I expect my adc to take that queue to be safe or follow up with us - this doesn't always happen and I get yelled at because he dove under the tower without me. So in the macro meltdown situations, I sigh, take my loss and evaluate what I can learn from it and then rinse and repeat. Now, when something good happens, I do pause to say gj (usually on a back). Also on that back I suggest a next focus (say rift herald). When the enemy says my name in disgust 'damn you Leona', I just grin and think 'yeah that's right, say my name.'. To be fair though, unless I am in a lull or on a back, I rarely watch chat, I am watching the mini map and my lane. I am sure that I get reported on many losses. Hell, the team is usually fighting/arguing with-in the first 10 minutes of a losing game; my silence must infuriate them. I would like to see how I the IFS regards me on those reports. What do I know though, for all I know, I could be the reason you are arguing - well not with me, but in general. I've been silver I seven times now, in my gold promos two times now and currently sitting at 0 LP in silver II.
My precise situation was actually responding to another player on my team that was being toxic. They started it, but I made it a lot worse by arguing back and forth with them. That's behavior that does worsen the quality of the game, but isn't immediately clear to me that I'm being toxic. So when I get slapped with a chat restriction and my honor level booted to 1, I feel like WTF. It just would have reduced my frustration (and actually stopped me from arguing with toxic players at all) if I had a warning about that before I had my honor kicked down. It's two months later and I'm still not even to honor level 2 :/ I'm at 1.3 now.
: Patch 9.10 notes
Y'all can complain about the Lux and Ezreal choices all you want, but thematically they were two of the best choices for this event. Young human characters have some of the most skins because they are some of the easiest to make desirable skins for. I'm sorry but Professor Hecarim just wasn't going to work. Sidenote: Sure, Yuumi's obviously related to Cats vs Dogs, but what was her skin going to be? Definitely N- oh my god Riot I now need Definitely Not a Cat Yuumi. Book needs to be disguised as a Samsung Fold. {{sticker:sg-lux}} - Just Another Lux Main

: Rethinking Ranked Fives and Tuning Dynamic Queue
While I don't have much of a problem with dynamic queue myself, I definitely feel some of you guys' point. I will say though, to those of you asking why they don't just change it, when they decided to try this they kind of HAD to commit for it for at least a season. If they had given up on it before now without putting in serious effort to fix it, that'd look horrible on the part of their development team. On the other hand, even if at this exact moment they accept that dynamic queues aren't working, how would they change that after mid-season? Something that effects the nature of the game as much as the way you queue would have a serious impact on, for instance, end-of-season rewards. While it sucks to have to wait near a year for something you don't like to possibly change, at least understand that huge shifts in the nature of the game in the middle of the season aren't exactly reasonable. Think about every player who started this season, and has never even played on the old system (and didn't have that fucking rough grind from level 25 to 30 =-=). Having your position be basically random was pissing everyone off. Having it so that you only ever had to play one role was creating a massively unhealthy game culture (I mained support, I get to moan about that a bit). They're trying to find some middle ground. I think all the "apologists" (@ProfMunchKin) are just trying to say that whether or not you agree with Riot's decisions lately as far as the direction of the game, they are doing a HELL of a lot better giving context for what they're doing and explaining what's going on behind the scenes. Which I personally appreciate. You can think they're shit game-makers if you want, but a fair amount of people will stand by the fact that Riot cares about its player base.
