: I quit TFT when my Pyke did his dash stun on the completely other side of the board missing the entire enemy team and then my opponent Pyke proceeded to hit his stun on my entire team.

The only thing consistent about TFT is how unbelievably inconsistent it is.

: There was a leak of someone playing a League of Legends on their phone a little bit ago. Pretty sure that's the real reason. To quote Diablo's infamous response, "You all have phones, right?"

Pretty sure that's the real reason. To quote Diablo's infamous response, "You all have phones, right?" Lol yeah, I mean, I don't think putting some league spin-off on phones is a terrible idea, but if riot has been wasting all their resources on making league on mobile I think its going to wind up blowing up in their face. Especially considering people get tilted without people playing with touch controls.
: Any multiplayer teamgame that tries be both competitive and casual will inevitably fail at both. It took gaming audiences years of playing League, DotA, Overwatch, and other "eSport games that anyone can pick up!" to figure this out, but there's good reason why FFA format games like battle royale and auto-battlers have gotten so popular. People realized that having no control over the outcome of a game when all it takes is a 14 year old having a tantrum to force a loss is toxic for their mental health. To be as blunt as possible, League was never good. This isn't even Riot's fault necessarily, anymore than Valve or Blizzard are at fault for their respective "eSports" team games. It's a core game design issue coupled with human psychology. I doubt you'll take the advice, but I'd recommend giving up on League and similar games. Asking Riot to fix the unfixable isn't going to be effective, and I can almost guarantee that you'll be better off for it. This goes not just for the original poster, but for anyone else that shares their misdirected anger.

This goes not just for the original poster, but for anyone else that shares their misdirected anger. I am not angry at riot, I'm disappointed at their lack of care for anything other than TFT and making money. I am personally a casual player, and have never really taken ranked seriously. The point of my post wasn't, "The core game of league of legends is flawed and TFT is the reason." I personally enjoy the core game of league, and it can be your opinion if you don't like it for one reason or another. What I said in my post is, is riot is putting less effort into league and TFT is the cause. Less effort has been put into everything related to the core of league, which for me is still enjoyable, but it is growing increasingly stale. With no content to offset the relative sameness of certain matches, the game is growing less and less interesting. I don't really have a problem with the team mechanic, but if that is your problem with the game, then yes it is fundamentally flawed for you. But it doesn't mean that everyone else shares your opinion, or that the game is awful because you think it is.

How hard can it be to literally just take the same gamemode from the Odyssey event and bring it up this fall. NONE of those champs have been changed in the meantime (except Malphite, who didn't get any gameplay changes), the assets of all enemies are the same, the map doesn't have to be updated and wasn't tempered with either. Just literally the same thing with different missions, which aren't hard to think of. How can that be so hard.

How can that be so hard. Same thing with a lot of gamemodes, star guardian invasion is almost exactly the same as odyssey with the amount of effort needed to re-implement it, most of the champions in project overdrive have received minimal changes, legend of the poro king uses aram balance AND aram assets, and that's just to name a few.
: Small indie company btw. But in all seriousness, they do have a seperate, dedicated TFT team as far as I'm aware, so the only resources that are really being shared (other than money, obviously) would likely be the QA, marketing and possibly art/design teams. I suppose that is enough to divert their attention somewhat, though how much it should is impossible to say without detailed statistics on the inner workings of their company. Side note: After playing League for the last 5 years, I'm extremely happy they released TFT. Not only is it a fresh break from League, I no longer have any intention of playing League seriously ever again. I find TFT to be much more up my alley and a far more enjoyable experience all around.

Yeah, but league has made around 21.6 billion dollars. I think they can spare the man power to make both a board game and their actual game, considering they made mechs vs minions, an actual table top board game that would need everything that TFT with design and graphics for the board and pieces, AND they need to actually make a board and pieces and then market it to sell. I just think that they've either sunk too much man power and resources into TFT and are neglecting actual league as a result, or they are using TFT as an excuse to slack on normal league, and features for normal league. Edit:This video by magikarpusedfly came out around the time of this reply, and as you can see from the video, mechs vs minions has had a lot more time and care put into it than TFT, and its a board game. Its kinda sad when a video game company gets upstaged by its merch department making a board game. Link to video: https://youtu.be/7I71UPQtB-A
