: I have watched some (Not the whole transcript) of the video you have here, and have come up with a few questions for you about him. Having had the chance to play him before the rework, and you have now since his new classification as a Juggernaut with the rework, would you consider him better as the Diver that he was BEFORE, or better as the Juggernaut that he is now? If you are not aware of this "unofficial" classification that I bring up in the next question, I'll tell you first. A number of Juggernaut players, like myself, have come up with two unofficial subclasses of Juggernauts, called Raid Bosses and Freight Trains. Raid Bosses are the slower, heavier hitters, while Freight Trains are the faster, but less hard-hitting ones. Examples of Raid Bosses are {{champion:122}} & {{champion:420}} while examples of Freight Trains are {{champion:106}} & {{champion:102}} . Would you consider him a Raid Boss Juggernaut, or a Freight Train Juggernaut? Having seen him a number of times in-game (But not having had the chance to actually PLAY him, because each time I want to he gets banned or the enemy team takes him) I personally consider him more of a Raid Boss because of his potential for higher damage output. Once I can actually get to play him, my viewpoint may change. Seeing as his new ult gives him the revive EVERY TIME he uses it, do you consider it better, worse, or about the same as the old revive mechanic he had before? Since he's now part of my favorite champion group/subclass or whatever you want to call it, I have been very curious to try the new Aatrox, but as stated above, just can't seem to get the chance to play him. Feel free to answer these questions in whatever order you wish. From a Juggernaut main.
I'll try to answer all your questions in the order you posted them. 1. I never classified Aatrox as a Diver to begin with, he was more of a Drain Tank for me or as you'd classify him as a Freight Train. Diving with Aatrox now is only slightly more easier since you don't have to go fully under their tower to secure the kill, his first two casts of Q give him enough range to pick-up tower agro then immediately drop it. 2. Like I said in the previous answer Aatrox to me was like a Freight Train through Drain Tanking, this Rework shifted him over to being a Raid Boss Juggernaut. 3. It depends on which revive mechanic you are talking about for Aatrox, the version prior to the current kit was decently difficult to manage but if you could do that then you became an unkillable monster at times. The other version of his revive was before the stack 5 and you get to revive, his abilities would cost HP and that HP would be stored in his Bloodwell. The higher it was stacked the more HP he would revive with and it would also grant him attack speed depending on how much it was filled up, this version of his revive was reliable and constant since even if there was nothing in the bloodwell he would revive. So in the case of better/worse/same than previous iterations of his revive it's consistent like his revive before the mini-rework, and better than the previous revive as it's not a conditional revive anymore.

: I like the Aatrox rework.
As an Aatrox main who has played his previous two iterations, and is currently in the process of testing/playing with this new one, I have to say there is massive potential to what he can do. However he is gated by the fact that his ult no longer gives him increased AA range so his reach in World Ender is deceptively short compared to his normal size. The second major issue is that the time he roots/stuns himself when casting Q is much longer than the knock-up duration and even if you do manage to land the 1st knock-up it's much harder to land the 2nd one because of its range and the built-in CD timer between Q casts. The final issue with Aatrox currently is that his Q animation is so slow that it's much better to auto-attack your target when you're both low health and don't have ultimate abilities, if the animation was speed up with the amount of CDR he builds then it would make sense for it to be slower at the start and much quicker once he reaches the 40-45% CDR cap. There are many more things that could be adjusted in his kit that would make him feel better but I'd rather not drag this out longer than the attention span of most readers.

The balance team has long been considered incompetent since Season 6 when Meddler took over for Morello, I'm pretty sure Guinsoo even quit working on the balance team because Meddler's sense of balance was way out of wack, he came in not having the wealth of experience that Morello had as a Lead Gameplay Designer.
: Intent is niche on some ADCs and some assassins. It's tunable towards ADCs via pushing the gold value into the second passive or amplifying repeatability of first passive, tunable towards Assassins via pushing gold into AD or simply making it cheaper. We're expecting at least one outlier user from both classes initially (Jhin, Rengar, and I guess Quinn is both right now?), but believe that they can be balanced. We do have a nuclear option if they can't, though - locking out Duskblade procs from working on crits (or otherwise preventing you from using both at once).

I'd like to point out that if your community can identify multiple outliers, not just the single from each class you mentioned, then there is something fundamentally wrong with your guys design philosophy for the game. You guys are pushing damage onto every class as a means to fix several issues with the game, damage is through the rough on pretty much every class including supports. It's honestly time for you guys to talk a step back, look at the broader picture and realize that most of the changes being made continually throw the game further and further out of wack. Players are willing to wait for patches that introduce new champions and items, though there won't be any players left if the amount of problems currently present in the game are not properly addressed.

: I really like the contrast they've set up between Rhaast and Aatrox (as weapons). Rhaast - the scythe - is far more organic in design with flesh and bony plates, not to mention actual teeth replacing the cutting edge. He's brutal, harsh, almost feral. Aatrox has smooth curving lines and distinctly metal components, all of it flowing together towards a singular point. He's elegant and deadly, a refined killing instrument, as a sword should be, because a sword's only purpose is war.

Red Buff has does more than just slow champions on auto-attacks, the buff grants true damage to when you attack towers and gives you HP regen while out of combat. Aatrox is a strong teamfighter, you probably don't see many, but even a decent Aatrox Q can turn a fight in your team's favor as they have to focus you down rather than your backline. You probably think he's a joke because people are your skill level are still terrible at the game. Morde even without his pet dragon has strong waveclear, the Dragon is just icing on the cake to deter people from stopping his push. The thing is most average players (Mid Silver - Low Gold) don't look at the entire picture when it comes to a specific champion, you guys tunnel on either the Pro's or Con's and ignore the rest. Many champions are really strong, that's why you can find so many different OTP's in Plat and above. OTP's learn to understand the champion in their entirety and play to their strengths, sure they may complain about other champions/items but that's with an objective look because they don't want to completely gut the thing they are complaining about.

Your reason behind it falls under my second probability of why they don't allow RGM's to be custom: Abusing RGM Customs to get lots of BE which means less money spent on RP to buy champions and other BE/RP purchasable items. Companies will usually take calculated losses in order to make gains further down the line, but if they leave their system to be exploited then they lose more in the long term.

: In response to "Stop Buffing Zed" thread and all the Zed haters
I have mixed feelings about Zed, yes he's healthy in some aspects but also unhealthy in others. I'm Plat 3 currently so I hope my perspective sheds a bit of light for you. Zed does have a healthy laning phase and trade patterns, avoid the shuriken from both the real and shadow zed to negate taking a lot of damage, however the problem comes down to when teamfights start to break out. Zed can, to a certain degree, freely Ult your ADC blink out and let is shadows do the rest of his damage to just pop them, you're now down a teammate and it's a 4v5 situation with you on your backfoot. The fact that Zed can reliably pop a squishy through just his shadows alone is not a healthy design, most assassin's need to hard commit to get their kills which is healthy design as it also opens them up to being killed themselves, too much safety in an assassin's kit puts them closer to being Over-Powered or Over-Tuned. When someone asks me what is a Healthy assassin play-style the first champion that comes to mind is Talon, he has to commit to getting a kill and his escape is conditional on there being a wall he hasn't already hopped over nearby.

You wouldn't have issues where supports were too overpowered and mitigate your entire damage combo's, ADC's still needed 3 items to reach their lategame and the items weren't cheap either, Mid-laners could roam top or bottom and make plays and take objectives off of those plays, Top wasn't treated like an island the champion picks in that lane would have great influence in teamfights, and junglers wouldn't need to be so gank reliant to get their powerspikes because the jungle respawned fast enough to where they could keep up in lvls. That to me was one of the most balanced times in League.
: So that'd be broken as all get out. A damage carry that can't be CC'd? Heck, think about how powerful a shortone was on ornn, a freaking tank! I like the idea, but I'd rather see something else that heavily compensated like that. Maybe he can't be cc'd but can auto attack for a brief second? Or when his passive kicks in he sinks into the ground and can choose where to respawn, potentially in a safe location. Also I heard it's only kinda getting preserved (whatever the heck partially preserving coming back from the dead looks like) so it's probably not going to work in a way either of us are expecting. Also, apparently he's a mix of Illaoi and Riven now, some sort of combo based juggernaught, so that should be fun.

I'm looking forward to see how the Rework turns out, mostly to get rid of his 5 stack passive where even if it's available if you van't get it maxed out you die. But yea choosing where you revive would be better than immunity to CC and Damage for 1s out of revive, Aatrox needs to be able to either get out or revive safely after he dies otherwise he ends up in a situation where: Die 1st time with passive, revive, die again because teammates left you despite being the engager for teamfights.
: Well, now I see where a lot of this entitled behaviour comes from....
Let me give you some insight as to what happened to cause this: Cowsep had been having a bad day prior, his team (This is high Diamond btw) had been harassing him in every game he had played threatening to ban Yi, tossing racial slurs at him, trolling him, and ghosting him as he played. Yes he's a big League player on Twitch, but he's also human, we get burnt out eventually from the amount of harassment people throw at us. Sure he left a game, where he set the enemy team behind to the point where he believed that the other players could win it without him. Notice that he's also playing on the Korean Servers, people will ragequit so damn fast because they fall behind it's not even a joke. I can't fully defend his actions, but I can say that from the amount of shit streamers get it's fair for them to act out like this to get rid of their own frustrations.
: Feels like there's some false advertisement going on here. The stated goal is to make contesting and fighting your opponent in lane more valuable and available. An accepted risk point is that this _could_ cause lane matchups to be more snowbally. At the same time, a _hopeful_ benefit is that players that want to express their individual skill over their lane opponent now have more opportunities to do so because there are predictable, important times in the minion formations where their opponent feels more compelled to expose themselves to risk.

Just want to ask, do you guys ever look back at previous seasons and try to figure out why the old balance team did the things they did? I mean back in season 3 lanes were so snowbally to the point that once someone got ahead nobody on your team could do anything to stop them. Renekton got ahead? Say good-bye to your tier 2 tower before bot even takes their own, and don't worry your jungler can't do anything to help you out either. It feels like every change you guys are making to the game are unguided guesses as to what might fix this shithole you've dragged yourselves into. I'm not trying to be rude but you guys are just running around with your heads cut off, with no clue as to what is the correct choice to make.

: I'm aware of the perception. What do you think are the things in the game that are resulting in this?

What do you think are the things in the game that are resulting in this? Agency of the bot lane both ADC and Supports have relatively Cheap and very Effective itemization with multiple means of peeling whether it's ADC's self-peel or a supports combination of 2s + CC on default abilities. Bot lane towers are weak to the point where they don't even deter dives anymore from even the squishiest of junglers like {{champion:76}} and {{champion:28}} . Both problems will be further amplified by the changes to minion gold value, as it causes a larger disparity between whose the better bot lane. My belief is that for a while, the balance team has needed to just outright nerf several problematic champions rather than nerf one aspect of them and buff another. That's a poor means of balancing a game and just causes further issues to arise, furthermore using the feedback of only the Internal team for Patches can make certain patches Skewed towards certain champion classes/items. There should be more mid-patch updates during the time a patch is up for the 2-3 weeks, you guys need to be listening and identifying problem cases as they arise and not put them off until later. I understand that you guys may be busy working on the next patch after you already ship one out, but there should be enough people and time in the day for you guys to observe the patch changes and compare your expectations to actual results.

: Yes. Every game designer and playtester who works in Gameplay plays League of Legends basically every day (and quite often multiple times a day) whether on internal environments, PBE or the live game. But you knew that, yeah? This isn't really a question, it's one of those "sick burns" that the kids like these days right? :P Let me add that as a frequent Boards-goer it's really disappointing to see the same tired, old memes at the top of the front page about the "balance team being silver" and "balance team doesn't even play the game", and I'm not even on the dang balance team. They're simply not true and, real talk from someone on the dev side, I think topics like this can be really discouraging for Rioters who want to come here and talk directly with players.

They're simply not true and, real talk from someone on the dev side, I think topics like this can be really discouraging for Rioters who want to come here and talk directly with players. Well Riot Sparkle, I want to say that these meme's are a direct ventilation of players frustrations. You can back to the Season's where Morello's Team was doing the balancing for the game and compare it to now with Meddler's Team. There is a vast difference between them, whereas one team took precautions as to not let things spiral out of control the other is trying to hide the fact that they may have messed up and know about it. It's a difference between knowing you've done wrong and hiding it and actively hitting the issues that were created to return the game to a balanced state. As it is now there is too much damage in the game and the game has been balanced around that power creep, Champions and Items, that it creates a game where many people even streamers find it being tedious to continue playing the game. We want the Balance Team to communicate with us and take our feedback seriously, though we may have some biases we are still a reliable source for knowing where to make tweaks. As said previous by some other Rioter: "There are more than a million games played on launch of a new patch, and not every bug will be caught during internal testing as there are a multitude of variables. We make sure to get rid of the BIG bugs before a patch hits live"

: So here's an honest to goodness question for my own curiosity - ideally, what do you want to actually figure out from death recap? What to buy next (Armor/MR/Lifesteal whatever)? If someone did more damage than the person that killed you? What ability was used on you? Something else? Like, assuming you know who got the takedown (from the scoreboard), what would you specifically be looking for out of death recap (in an ideal bug free fantasy world)? EDIT: Thank you to all the folks responding, really interesting to read through your thoughts & wants. <3 EDIT 2: Guys, I play other games. I know that other games have death recap features. I'm asking about what YOU want personally and specifically, not for examples of other death recaps. :)

I know that other games have death recap features. I'm asking about YOU want personally and specifically, not for examples of other death recaps. :) Well if it's a single champion killing you then I'd prefer the death recap to show: How many basic attacks and the average damage they did, Ability damage and how many times it an ability was cast, item passives like duskblade showing how much the item added on same would go for stuff like electrocute/PTA/Dark Harvest/Comet/Aery/Grasp/Aftershock/Conq, finally multipliers like Cleaver/Void/Last Whisper/etc. anything that reduces Armor and MR or Amplifies Damage like Crit

PLATS SHOULDNT BE ON SAME TEAM AS SILVER FFS! Getting Plats on the enemy Team as a gold player is common, even I got them very often, though the silver players shouldn't be there unless they are smurfs.

: Matchmaking Algorithm is garbage
Yea Riot's MMR system is fucked, I'm closing in on Diamond MMR (Currently Plat 3 MMR and Rank) but even still I see the odd Gold 5 player in a game well over their MMR score and at times I feel bad for both the player and the team they are on because that team will have a useless champion and be fighting an uphill battle with how much CS their one player is denied from their opposing laner.
