It's a message that needs to be in more media these days. People all deal with trauma in different ways. Being 'broken' is not something that happens to everyone and it's certainly not a good way to characterize victims of past trauma. Please tell everyone involved in her writing and voice direction they did a great job.

: My problem with the whole "AP mids vs Assassins" issue is this.
You see, I'm of the opposite mindset. I think that *every* enemy champion should change the way you play somewhat. A problem I see is that many mages have an incredibly one-dimensional play style that can't change and they suffer against more in-the-moment versatile assassins as a result. Think about Malzahar, Annie, Brand... Almost all burst oriented non mobile mages have abilities that have one clear 'best' way to use their abities that result in an inability to play around champions that have means of circumventing that best case scenario. Conversely (especially for Malzahar and Annie, and old Cassiopeia was the #1 perpetrator) many of these mages are known for being very difficult to play against if the champion you chose doesn't have the one kind of tool they need to lessentheir effectiveness. That's why utility mages like Orianna and Lux are performing so well. They have better kits (imo) that allow them to be useful in multiple situations. The problem doesn't seem to be assassins so much as the more linear kits that don't work well in a meta that favors versatility and mobility more than raw single target bigdamage. Where I will agree a problem exists is with assassins that are both linear AND are entirely damage focused, like Talon and Katarina (regardless of how strong or weak they might be).

: Elise "buffs"
She has the healing buff at all points in spider form, she doesn't have to activate anything for it. Furthermore, you can temporarily get scaling even better than the old healing buff after landing from rappel. It is an overall buff to her jungle sustain.

Probably an oversight because the frost debuff was designed based on her old cooldown.

: So can I get the thought process behind Kalista? Seriously?
[A good Sion can read Kalista like a third grade textbook.](http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/1638497463/33840125?tab=overview) She always jumps the same distance, if you put your Q in the right place you can totally oust her from a fight with one ability press. Sure, you might not be able to catch and kill her but you can stop her from doing anything useful. It's not just Sion, Kalista is weak to AoEs in general because she has a hard time managing exact position.

: Riot, will we ever hear a true, candid, argument in favor of your lore retcon?
Let me put it this way. The summoners WOULDN'T have been a problem if they were treated consistently from the start, but they suffered from years of additions without much forethought. One problem is power scales. Summoners control magic that could destroy the world. Kayle and Morgana, both hyper-powerful immortal beings could not stand against summoner magic. LeBlanc and Lee Sin could? Nocturne could be controlled, Fiddlesticks and Mordekaiser could do what they want? Yes, you could argue that changes could make it more consistent, but they would be systemic changes pretty much as large as the retcon.
: Its looking like the jungle will be horrible this season to start at least.
I've got a few things to say about the new jungle to quell any of your fears, from playing on the PBE. For one, yes, it's harder, but only before the first upgrade. The new jungle items allow tank junglers and damage junglers to have the same amount of sustain in the jungle unlike spirit stone being biased entirely for high-damage junglers. After about level 3, the jungle is about the same as season four with a few bonuses you can get from the monsters. But on the flip side, it gives a LOT more gold and experience. The increase to the stat floor means that Lee isn't completely broken in level 2 invades (still annoying, but not impossible to deal with for a lot of champions) and contrary to what you might think, Diana of all people has come to the immediate forefront in terms of jungling power. She has the fastest clears as well as good sustain, hits six as fast as midlane if she tries... it's crazy. We'll have to see how the meta develops, but pretty much every jungler that is a REASONABLE pick right now can still jungle. Even Darius and Wukong can handle it if they take the right path. It's a lot like S1 jungle, in a way, which is nice. Really, people who have been jungling for five years tend to like the changes.

: I feel like this is a disguised Ryze circlejerk
Or maybe I enjoy what Ryze contributes to his team (an answer to hypermobility) but think that his overall strength is too high. He was just one of many examples I could have used.
: I don't like that Riot is obsessed with heavily limiting characters for getting bonuses. Like Sion's low health pool for his W passive. Azir's low AS for his CDR passive. Cass AP ratios being abysmally low for her AP gains (which is odd considering veigar exists)
Ghostcrawler made a point about that (people tend to discredit him simply because he is Ghostcrawler). Sion and Cassiopeia primarliy provide innate bonuses that are variable depending on the game. A shut down Sion will be worse of than other tanks due to his low base health, but one that is doing good will be a complete meatwall. This isn't a bad thing as it creates opportunity for opponents to find ways around mechanics that otherwise would be completely overbearing. (I feel like Cassiopeia has other problems, but I can see what Riot tried to do) Azir though? His passive isn't a direct limiter so much as it is an incentive to buy attack speed items like Nashor's where other champions in his role would never consider them.

: What do YOU want from a Cho'gath update?
Cho'Gath has proven time and time again to have a kit that really works for what it is meant to do. He's a crazy anti-caster with amazing zone potential due to threat of incredible burst damage. He's always really strong whenever burst casters are really strong, which means that his niche is very well fulfilled. If anything I just want a VU to make him look more bulky instead of spindly and more kaiju-esque.

: In general there aren't many champions who go against the morals of their nation/community outside of maybe Ionia with Zed and Diana with the Solari. The freljord sort of has this but thats more because its divided between 3 queens who all have different ideals of what the freljord should be. We don't have any noxians who are kind or caring or choose not to be as pragmatic and greedy as the others, any zaunites who care about their subjects, anyone from demacia who actively rebels against their system of draconian justice (demacians aren't all that "nice" if you dig deeper into it). There's no one on the shadow isles trying to cleanse it, and no one in bilgewater who isn't a pirate. The bilgewater one is more understandable seeing as this is more of a community where people come and go as they please as opposed to a more rigid social structure of a nation where it may be hard or impossible for some who are born into it to leave. Although this concept alone would be good justification for the above juxtapositions. Someone born into one of the noble demacian families may find it difficult to leave because of a difference in philosophy without outright committing treason. Same with Noxus. Or someone who is born into poverty may find it financially impossible or detrimental to leave even though they don't agree with the direction/laws of the society in which they live.

Every faction has iconoclastic characters EXCEPT Demacia. But even then, {{champion:133}} has a distinct distaste for high society, unlike other Demacians.

: Tales of the Black Mist: The Harrowing (This is not Lore)
I'm going to disagree. it's framed as a story from Bilgewater. It's lore in the same way Tolkien's many Dwarven songs are lore. It's a really cool tidbit that fleshes out the world through depth rather than breadth.

: Armor vs. Boobs
Speaking from a female persepective, to me Kayle looks incredibly badass in her new splash art, and it's not like male armor doesn't have vaguely sexual ostentation upon it occasionally. Like Woad King Darius immense belt buckle. Kassadin's twin spikes straight out of his groin. Mordekaiser's oversized codpiece. (It's pretty big, even though they got rid of the hilarious one Lord Mordekaiser used to have.) Think about it like this. Wide shoulders are indicative of masculinity. Should Darius' titanic pauldrons be removed because they are an overt display of his masculinity? **Or maybe there is nothing wrong with displaiyng masculinity/femininity as long as it is suggestive, and not giant flopping sexual organs.**

: Share a tip about your favorite champion everyone should know
If you are tagged out to Valor when playing {{champion:133}} , you can activate skystrike in the middle of Valor's E to in one move deal Skystrike's execute, interrupt the enemy, slow them, and mark them for a round of your passive while remaining safely at a range. Also, despite being listed as a marksman, Quinn works better as a Splitpusher Assassin with unmatched map mobility and unmatched dueling potential against melee enemies.

: What's a Champion, though? I thought the IoW etc. was officially gone, now. Is there still this arbitrary and universal terminology for the playable characters in League of Legends (even factionless monsters like Brand and Nocturne), or is Sion an actual "champion" in the traditional sense of the word?
I don't think you understand. Sion is literally Swain's champion. Not any weird in-universe terminology.

: This rework is going to be bananas [Soraka Rework Preview and Discussion]
Get ready for the Soraka fanbase to downvote heavily. I, however, really really look forward to playing this.
: Not a bad set of ideas here. Just running with this new Paradox ability, why not give Time Bomb and Paradox an interaction with each other depending on the order you place them? If "When"to do something is part of Zilean's theme, having Paradox do something when it is placed on an ally with a bomb on them might be kinda cool. Maybe have Paradox give a larger shield or some small buff if a Bomb is on an ally. This could give Zilean some pretty interesting play-making power by using Bomb+Paradox to give an ally a bigger shield or whatever as a discouraging tool and have the Paradox+Bomb combo serve as a sort of punishment for sticking too close too long. Mind you they do essentially the same thing with one focusing on saving an ally and the other focused on punishing an enemy for sticking in too long. The bigger shield from his Bomb+Paradox combo could also help your engage champ go in with some confidence that he is about to control the battlefield for a brief moment due to some extra durability and extra damage if they stay too close to him or her. His Passive might cause some wonkiness with the interactions but there may be ways to solve that like only letting one cast of X affect Y until Y is cast again. Just a thought.
I wouldn't want to go overboard with the interactions like that, because his passive could create death-chains like you said. I wouldn't want to relegate Zilean's abilities to being a worse version of an Orianna ball.

: I think there's a middle point in which skins don't need to be super convoluted with details but still remain detailed, for example Cass' desperada skin, they took away lots of details but in return they added several other shapes that aren't microscopically detailed but you can still see the ripples and relieves (is that the word?) In this case though, there seems to be something odd with the palette of the skin in general, her hat has a tone of brown while her top is blue-ish and her tail is brown-beige, plus her tail seriously lost detail unnecessarily and they should re-add the black stripes since this is nor micro detail nor imposible to pull off as we can see in the current skin. A lot of skins are convoluted with details though and I agree that simplifying them is part of their rework even if most people disagree with it.
Oh yeah, I'm not disputing that the colors are questionable - it's just that when you are dealing with small, high-contrast shapes it can result in a lot of noise that doesn't add value to it.

: I dont like the changes. I'm tired of champs getting reworks when they dont need them. Reworking champions doesnt make them get picked more. Look at xerath and skarner. In both of those cases I think they are actually less fun to play. especially xerath. Prework xerath was a blast. they took everything interesting out of his skills and turned them into average skill shots. His ult cant hit anything that moves. Remember taric? he saw a little popularity in ancient times so they "reworked him" he got popular again so they "reworked him again. He is deleted now. (might as well be). These reworks usually turn out to be the finishers of already rarely seen champions.
The Skarner rework was great. All 6 of us Skarner players LOVE the stun added on his passive. Xerath is aslo played a ton outside of NA. That's why he got nerfed a little bit ago. A champion being good or bad is independant of what people think of that champion. Opinions over data matters only im terms of how a kit feels to play and play against. And Cassiopeia is probably the least fun champion to play against on live. It probably feels pretty good to play her and master her, but it is overall BAD. If you remember when Cass was good, you would remember when she could keep people zoned so hard they would end up 3 levels down without dying. It's not as bad as it was, but high damage potential and safety combined is just a problem that Riot has been solving one champ at a time (Kayle, Ryze - currently Zilean). You might be right about the rework being a poor decision, but someone has to list counterpoints or there is no discussion, only people being angry with other angry people.

: She does no offer any assassination pattern? she deals consistent dmg over the encounter...if you want her as an assassin then corki would be an assassin to due to his burstspikes.
Quinn is best at dealing high, periodic spikes of damage to vulnerable targets. It's not just burst damage like Corki, Quinn does so from a much shorter range, in addition to her burst temporarily putting her in melee range with a target, and putting her only escape on cooldown. Quinn trades safety for large amounts of damage, with her ultimate trading all safety for all damage. High risk/high reward is the hallmark of an assassin.
