: Idc fix EUW SERVERS
There was a DDoS agains Ziggo that hurt the larger Internet due to congestion. It should be resolved now.

: How should my ping be then? I live in Orlando, FL using Bright House Networks as my ISP. Currently getting about 110 ping all game.
We are going to peer with BHN in ATL via Time Warner Cable. That order is in flight. Hopefully you should be below 65.
: Is there any update to an AT&T peering agreement?
We are in construction mode, should be up soon.
Rrryan (NA)
: Hi, I'm willing to wager that a majority of Alaskan players use GCI (http://www.gci.com/) as their ISP. I didn't see them on the list of ISPs Riot was working with to improve routing. Could you possibly check into adding them to the list?

: @Riot Ahab, hey as far as partnering up with some ISPs I don't see mine on the list. It's Cass Cable and they serve a lot of people in central Illinois. Their twitter is here @https://twitter.com/CassCableTv Let me know if maybe you guys can reach out to them.

We can totally reach out! :) Sending an email now. Thanks for letting us know!
: So, we will have to optimize some routing when we turn on the Chicago game servers. SO the result you get from that test today might not be your real ping.
So, we will have to optimize some routing when we turn on the Chicago game servers. SO the result you get from that test today might not be your real ping.
: Always good to receive updates and heard feedback from people that the optimization is actually improving the ping. For years, I've always had a consistent ping of 80 while playing on the East Coast, regardless of the internet service provider (Verizon, Verizon Fios, Optimum). Lately (couple weeks now), I've been experiencing brief lag spikes and even when I'm not lagging, my ping has been variable. In either case, gameplay has been difficult. To provide greater context, I currently use Optimum. I pass internet speed tests with flying colors (10 ping, DL 30 mbps, upload 20 mbps). I have no issues relating to connectivity while playing other games. I make sure that no other applications that use the internet are running concurrently. I would greatly appreciate any information and/or solution with regards to the changes that have transpired. I am content with having a consistent ping under 100 . Please let me know if any more information needs to be provided. Thanks.
OK, We should Optimum (Cablevision) up Monday. It took longer than expected to get the connection up, but we are rolling now and should have everything tested and complete Monday (Fingers crossed in hope). You internet tests are to a server close to you, and show your access network is good. The problem are the intermediate networks between Optimum and Riot. Those should go away soon. As far as the last couple of weeks, let me check and see what I can find, and see if anything changed.
KvZoN (NA)
: What about Bright House Networks?
They have not replied to us. I think they are content being purchased by Charter. :(
Akumu (NA)
: Can you be more specific about the issues involving Bell Canada? Its strange because im with Bell and over the last week have actually noticed a more consistent ping with less variance.
That is probably them working on their network. We don't peer with them yet.
Belf (NA)
: Cablevision?
Maybe Monday. We have our connection up, just testing.
: What about Windstream Internet?
We are working with them, but they are moving fairly slow :(
: I have Comcast and I'm in South Florida - I can attest that this is true. Months ago I could play in my house relatively fine - there would be a few games where my ping would spike here and there. Now, though, my ping spikes much more often and my ping itself is higher than what it used to be. Indeed, it seems like things here have gotten worse. I do hope Riot can sort this out.
Hmm, Let me reach out to Comcast. Can you send Traceroutes to riotwizardotl@riotgames.com?
: What about Canada? I want to see how my country is effected.
We are in the Toronto Internet Exchange (TorIX), Seattle Internet Exchange (SIX) and Quebec Internet Exchange (QIX). We are peering with Canadian ISPs as fast as we can :)
: Still notably missing from the ISP list is AT&T U-Verse. Any progress?
In talks with them now, should have things sealed up soon, and then we need to move to actual peering. Give us about 90 days.
DocSarge (NA)
: Very interested to know the status of AT&T U-verse
In talks with them now, should have things sealed up soon, and then we need to move to actual peering. Give us about 90 days.
: Can you talk more in depth about the contractual talks? Why do certain ISPs use paid peering polices rather than public or private ones? And I assume you cannot talk about what snag happened with Verizon in depth :X
Verizon had an issue with giving us LOAs (letter of authority) which allows us to connect to their routers in the data centers. We finally got these yesterday. On the Contractual talks, its just the way some ISPs look at peering, and it is completely different for each, unfortunately. Hope that helps.
: Any info on Cablevision? Last time i contacted them, they said they had no information about being contacted by Riot, and a post on the last thread said that Riot had contacted their peering group with no response. Has communication broken down somewhere?
We have an agreement to peer with them in NYC. Just setting it up now.
Spartan (NA)
: Brighthouse Networks? please
We have reached out to them several times with no response. I imagine we will have to wait until Charter purchases them, and we already peer with Charter.
tobirus (NA)
: Any word on my ISP, Armstrong Cable? It's a mid size cable operator. Thanks in advance.
They are on the list of people we are reaching out to for Peering in Chicago. Are you in Ohio area?
: Grande communications? they are pretty big in texas
Yep, As we start getting all the peering moving, Grande is one of our targets :)
: So no Optimum for New York? fuck me =/
We actually have an agreement to Peer with Optimum! Just have to get it set up :)
: Any chance you'll be partnering with Eatel? (Its based in Louisiana)
We will look into it. We will have to find out where they peer. Thanks for letting us know about them.
Threeric (NA)
: Awesome. When I started playing in Season 3 my ping was ~70 (in KS). Now it hovers around 100-110. Since you are now working with Cox, the ISP I have, do you think you will be expecting lowered ping in my area?
We don't have out COX connections up yet, still waiting on Fiber to be run. As soon as we have the connections up, we believe we should be able to help.
Admix (NA)
: When are you guys going to be peered @ QIX in Montreal? I am currently on Electronic Box and if lets say for some reasons I get higher ping when you guys peer with QIX, is there any solutions? Such as partnering with the isp directly to send traffic a different route instead?
We thought we would get connected last week. Unfortunately, they are experiencing some problems with the fiber connectivity. We should be able to get connected within two weeks. If for some reason this increases ping, we will bring down the session. I hope that helps.
Regulus (NA)
: In the province of Quebec which is pretty much the Eastern Coast of Canada, the big twos are Bell Canada and Videotron. I read that you guys were still trying to communicate with the former, so what about the latter? Videotron is really one of the biggest here, and pretty much the best along with Bell Canada in terms of Internet quality around here. Either way, thank you so much for your work up until way and rock on. :)
We already peer with VideoTron. Did I get that right, or are you asking about Bell Canada?
Dayruin (NA)
: How's agreements with AT&T going?
We had a good discussion this week. We are hopeful they will choose to peer.
: Have you spoken to MTS (manitoba telecom services)?
We have reached out to them, but we have not heard back yet.
Quality (NA)
: Any news for AT&T?
Had a good meeting with them this week. We hope they choose to peer.

Still hoping to hear from them though! How about Brighthouse Networks in the eastern central part of Florida? I currently use ATT uverse but brighthouse is the other one in my area incase ATT cant reach a deal
Same situation. We contacted them and had some conversations, but nothing back from them.

Still hoping to hear from them though! I'd like to help this come to fruition, should I call Optimum? What should I say? edit: You guys are doing amazing work by the way, where's the tip jar?
Sure! Have them contact peering@riotgames.com. No tips :) Lets just play some games. Itching to learn Lux.
: Or you can use cmd and type in "ping google.com" and check your ping that way.
It wont send it to our servers. Google could take another route.
Pìkachu (NA)
: Thanks for your continued efforts on helping us achieve better connections! Next work on making Lulu's Pixie Poro icon
: Is there any way Riot could provide us with a small client that could simulate connecting to your game servers, then give us feedback on ping and packet loss? I am hesitant to play at night from the East Coast as I have no idea until I get in game if the game will be playable or not. Rather than playing Russian roulette with my LP I'd like to know beforehand if I am going to have a chance or not.
That is interesting. Let me check into this. Great idea!
Quality (NA)
: Any news for AT&T?
We have talked to them. Had a great call last Tuesday. We will see how it works out.
: Thank you for this update! I can already tell that i am no longer experiencing packet loss as i had earlier this year (thanks to the PoP in NY). I hope that connection quality will continue to improve for many other players as the "South Bridge" slowly comes online and as more ISPs get partnered. And we can already tell that there hasn't been a significant reduction major service interruptions since the hardware upgrade. (I can only recall maybe one interruption, as compared to almost a problem at least once a month). Keep it up Rito!
Hovah (NA)
: http://www.bellaliant.net/fibreop Alot of people on the east coast of Canada use Bell Aliant or Eastlink.
We will check them out. We will probably get to them when our Toronto and Montreal peering is up.

Still hoping to hear from them though! Is there anything customers can do to help the message get across? Long Islander here that has Optimum Online.
If you could call the quality control group or support desk and tell them about the experience playing League, potentially opening a ticket asking them peer, that would help.
Xangup (NA)
: Have you spoken with RCN isp? Always ctrl F is but never seem to find anything about them mentioned {{item:3070}}
: I know you can't answer yes or no to if you've spoken to them or not, but is Windstream Communications an isp on the radar for potential talks for the routing? I know they lease fiber to Verizon in some areas and is huge here in the midwest united states (I know this because my dad works there and they are a fortune 500 company)
Yep, We have talked to them, and when our Dallas and Atlanta PoP com on line we will peer there and in Chicago. SO they are on the list :)
Dayruin (NA)
: How's agreements with AT&T going?
Working. We had a great call with the CTO on Tuesday. But we will see.
: Whats the hold up with Bell Canada? Every other major ISP seems to have already been included.
We just have to get through the contract process. It takes time with some companies.
: Do you guys plan on partnering with Google Fiber for your peering?
We are already peered with Google Fiber. Super excited about it!
Regulus (NA)

We peer with VideoTron in Chicago, and will in Quebec and Montreal when we get there. Still talking with Bell Canada.
: Do you guys happen to be talking to Windstream Communications as well?
Yep, We have talked to them, and when our Dallas and Atlanta PoP com on line we will peer there and in Chicago. SO they are on the list :)
: What about Verizon? How many firstborn sacrifices are they demanding for cooperation?
LOL We have an agreement with Verizon and are in the middle of our rollout. Nothing up yet, but coming soon.
: Any discussions ongoing with Eastlink?
I have not heard of them. Where are they located? We will reach out to them.
Delílah (NA)
: Any chance of partnering with Windstream? It's not the biggest ISP but it would be something nice considering how shitty my internet is and I don't have another choice.
We have talked to them, and when our Dallas and Atlanta PoP com on line we will peer there and in Chicago. SO they are on the list :)
Pixelbii (NA)
: Is Cogeco going to be influenced by this? It is probably the most used internet provider in Canada, I sure hope it will be.
When we get into Montreal they are on the list. We have about 30 days (hopefully) until we are there.
: Hey thanks for doing this! Also I have HUGE packet loss 20+ per minute in every single game (still managed to climb to silver 5) and I realize most of it is on my end, forced to play on wifi, have no control over the router, ISP is bronze 5, What can I do on my computer to fix this packet loss?
What city do you live in and who is your internet service provider?
