That's the 1st step to becoming a better person. Damage isnt absurd, players are just bad. If youre a tank and dying instantly then either youre severely out of position and playing stupidly, or your build is garbage. If youre an adc... Youre out of position and are supposed to die instantly. Position better. This has been a thing since pre season 1.
Hmm I think building one damage item and not much else besides tank items should probably make me much more difficult to kill but unfortunately a combination of damage and a mix of infinite scaling or %health damage tank stats don't matter. Damage should matter but I think there should be other ways to impact the game besides just "Now I do more damage than before."putting more power in CC or tanks or the ability to interact differently with the game like Ivern or something would be better for the game more often then not it might not happen to you but if you get tagged in the game you probably are out of the fight or dead poke is deadlier than ever and getting 100-0'd or 100-15'd is kinda way to frequently attainable and makes champs that cannot just dump damage out not very useful or good
: I love League, I played it for 10 years. But you make me want to quit.
I've been arguing with a friend of mine about the glut of offensive options in the game and why Defense is not a real option which boils down to if defense was too great the individual games would not move forward reaching a stalemate of tanks being actually unkillable which I think is a little hyperbolic but not entirely wrong is there really a way to make tanks happy and damage dealers happy?
: From your other post's tone, I couldn't tell if you were being serious or sarcastic, and due to the general boards populace, I had to assume sarcastic. I apologize. I have to acknowledge your point. Its definitely a very real part of why people choose champions. However, I'm talking about people who say they're a one-trick X main, then give up the moment nerfs hit them, even if they're insignificant. You saw this with Ekko. People dropped off from playing him tank after the first nerf, then others found out he was still OP and everyone flocked back. And that happened several more times. As far as weak champions, its more about **having the skills to punish said 'weak' champions** that makes them less viable at higher MMR, not that you have to have the skills in order to play them reliably. Otherwise, Master Yi, Akali, Tryn, etc wouldn't get played at all. Skill can also make up for whatever champs' weakness, allowing them to function there, but the large majority of champion still have the options to let them scale into the game in the majority of circumstances.
Not a problem I want to say thanks for being so understanding and nice despite the cavalcade of jerks who would have been sarcastic. I also have to concede that people do play champs as flavor of the month its sorta a single take case but my other friend who plays FoTM does so by coming to these boards and seeing which champs have to most "This champ is unfair" threads and then only plays those because its some indication of what champs might have an edge and what champs other don't get how to play against and its pretty effective and got him to gold so maybe there is precedent for this and it's validity but not the incessant whining. TO this I concede that it literal jump rope back and forth to champs with a desire to win (Short sighted as it may be) not a desire to win reliably. Like you said skill can make up for a champs weakness it can also elevate a champs above others so each game is kinda its own contained exercise in matching player skill and champion skill. And again your right that almost everyone can scale into the game with how the items and shop works its hard to not unless you buy six of the same item and that item is I dunno a ruby crystal but thats silly, I think it still requires a measure of system mastery to do in such a way that you can play anyone. Like if you took yourself and I and gave us both Maokai and a team of robots who react to us each perfectly I'd say you'd win by a landslide just based on our relative ranks in divisions and my lack of system mastery I'd try and build against you but if we are both laning your mechanics and skill will just trump mine. Even If I got a counter to you I might do better but I would still give you the edge because as you said in many cases its about having the skill to punish a weakness and I'd need the boost of better over tuned numbers to keep pace or out perform. But yeah people shouldn't complain that's just kinda...gross. Solid argument though!
: You missed the point entirely. I am not great at this game, yet I can reach gold (again, top 20% of all players) easily with what people assume are trash-tier champs because you can't rambo in and expect to win lane. People over-estimate the difference between champions' power based on that alone. __________ The entire point was that the nerfs that champions take rarely make a large difference. They may affect how aggressive you can be at certain points in the game, but they don't change what that champion does in the large majority of cases unless that's the entire point of the nerf. **Play to farm, join teamfights. That's how you play this game.** That's how you can be successful with any champion. You don't have to have lane dominance or snowball to win the game, and many people don't realize that.
I really don't think I did I just provided a different view I am a very reasonable person when it comes to my abilities. You see with some champs I can rambo in and expect to win because they are overloaded and don't require as much skill to play well. Like when Illoai came out I loved her because her design and stuff but I played her because she was very difficult for other people to play against and not to many people had thought of a way to counter her and the spirit thing was very oppressive. Which was good for me kept folks out of lane and I got far ahead. Now if they had stayed my mechanical and gameplay flaws would glare and I would generally lose cause I am bad. But having an overwhelmingly unfair champ in any given situation makes up for that. I also generally play top and my jungler a friend of mine leaves me alone and expect because I play in the most non-interaction hope there is no counter play style so that the opposition doesn't have a chance to compete I should be fine and that is only bolstered by champ choice. Hell my Illoai isn't even a good example what was better when I got to take tank ekko top and just make people go to other lanes: This is something I need to win or I will be a detriment to my team. I can't say the same for everyone else but the same idea of I need an edge and this champ gives it to me is a sound one. See playing to farm, be in a team fight, and being good at the basic's of league is a great way to be better consistently and at a high level that will work if your teamwork and stuff are better than the other teams. BUT to those of us who have trouble being in the right spot or executing combos or building properly to counter stuff having a busted ass champ is great. I will grant it can only get you so far probably not even out of bronze where I am but it does produce results. "You don't have to have lane dominance or snowball to win the game, and many people don't realize that." I think you don't realize not everyone is working with the same basic or higher level skill set and some people do need to have dominance in game or they have to snow ball or they cannot win. There is also the much less reasonable argument of playing the game as you choose BUT that is kinda meh in my opinion like me personally I love tanks and juggernauts and save Nasus I never get the feeling of being truly unstoppable as a tank or a juggernaut the only time I have was in an Illoai game where the other team DC'd several times I hit 18 when they hit like 7 or something and then I go that feeling of inevitable unstoppable power and it was great but a fair fight that don't happen and any time it might happen it'll probably be nerfed and brought back in line with the offense has the larger end of the stick cause a defense heavy game sometimes would not end but all of this is just musing the point of not everyone can just be good or practice and get good is what I meant to say long ago.
: Jax has plenty of items that scale incredibly well with him. Jax still has some of the better base stats in the game. Jax's issue is juggernauts and ranged top laners for the most part. _____________ Finally, Masters is pretty irrelevant to 99.9% of the playerbase who can still easily succeed with him, especially from the jungle. Anyone in gold is better than an estimated 80% or more of the rest of the playerbase, yet a huge portion of that bottom 80% say these champions are garbage and you can't win with them. You'll notice that even in diamond, there are plenty of Jax players, and that accounts for top 1-2% of the playerbase, which means 99% of the playerbase has no excuse for saying Jax is horrible. **Face it. Most players can't win because they're terrible and have to play overloaded or over-tuned champs in order to have a chance at winning. **
Yes. You are right. I do need the crutch of an advantageous champ to win. Good. Also you are very good at LoL and according to those number above involving Leona, Taric and others are better than people like me who need that crutch and why we need that crutch because we cannot beat folks like you. Good. We and I am assuming people who you are calling out who are ceasing to play a champ are in a similar boat want to win and intend or desire to do that in the best way possible to secure a win. Play a champ who is known or proven to be better, more efficient or in some cases unfair to make sure that win happens. Good.
: Tank Meta Best Meta?
Its good. I find fights exciting.
: I don't even play with sound on. I haven't had sound in the client on for ages.
Well the sound would fix the problem right? then you don't have a visual clue but the audio one fixes that and you can alt out without worry cause it reminds you to go back to he game easy fix.
: easily, playing hearthstone, watching a youtube video, playing darksouls in the load screen. its very easy to get sidetracked.
But...If I am playing league I never miss the thing cause I am on my league window...like if you don't alt out your good.
: The strength from her E is being able to smack both the ghost and the body with her tentacles during a trade, so it ends up being a straight up damage amplifier. You can avoid this by running away, but then she just beats up your ghost and turns you into a vessel. If you lowered vessel duration, but made her Q slow, then she would be much stronger all around, but also less frustrating to play against. Win/win.
What am I missing something? If I get hooked and I now know the vessel duration is lower and the damage transfer is lower I am just not going to fight. The slow is nice but its only worth it if the person stays around to fight. It just more worth it to not fight and wait out the vessel. OP even said to lower the transfer damage. If you lower the vessel duration no one cares about being a vessel cause its not a significant Debuff in lane. I agree she's stronger in a team fight (or the beginning of one) cause people aren't going anywhere, Like I have little reason to engage on her ever cause all of her strength is in a very short range of her, so if I keep my distance and and play even a little safe she does nothing? Now I guess I could see this is the damage transferred from the vessel to the champ was much higher that way if you don;t push her off the vessel it will actually mean something. But if not I get caught once or twice, then I don't get close because I don't want to get slowed and then just play behind minions if I am melee or have a cake game against Illaoi if I am ranges cause she even weaker and has zero presence away form her own body.
: Illaoi needs some power shifted from her E and to her other abilities. She has Renekton syndrome right now. She's oppressive in lane, and useless late game. Maybe increase the cooldown on E, decrease vessel duration and lower the base damage transfer. Then you can make her passive scale with CDR and move the slow from her E onto her Q tentacle. Now she's able to have some teamfight presence without relying on people standing in her ult, and she's not able to just spam E in lane and ruin your life.
Why would you ever vessel anyone if the duration is lowered too much you end up with an ability that is at best a waste of your time and mana and at worst a self root. Also the vessel is her only way to deal damage if people are out of range if range champion gets caught it is Illaoi's only chance to retaliate. And more tentacles don't do much if the vessel is not the vessel for long, its cool you have tons of tentacles if the never have anything to hit. I dunno if the team fighting presence is worth gimping the laning as dramatic as that sounds she engages and then loses her trades cause her damage that was coming form her tentacles is coming out less. She is lacking in the CC department, lacking in the mobility department, and she has damage to fight her enemy laner by using her tentacles making it harder fro some one who only deals damage to deal damage just sounds like trying to remove her from the game. She already sucks I don't think making the one things she can do to deal with people worse is a good idea
: Woah woah woah Taric's new stun can hit 5 people at once. I think it's a much needed improvement on the old ability.
: I'll upvote this but do understand that Riot has never given compensation for anything other than the free win in your series. This, alone is huge for climbing already. However, I do agree that if you get an AFK in your game, you should be compensated. I'm sure the system is smart enough to detect when an AFK occurs and for how long the AFK has been AFK. A) If any player AFK for more than 50% of the game duration, rest of the team should receive reduced LP loss. The AFK will instantly be punished with increased LP loss. B) If any player AFK in the first 2 min of the game and doesn't return by the 10 minute mark, loss forgiven is granted to the rest of the team and surrender will be allowed at that point. The player AFK'd is punished instantly with increased LP loss. I can't even see one bit as to how this will be abused. Condition A will still result in LP loss for every members on the team. Condition B wasn't even a "match" to begin with and falls under the same category as dodging a champ select. The only difference is that the person who "dodged" or in this case, AFK, receives increased punishment.
I know this is a special case but I don't give a flying anything about climbing. So what if I purposefully AFK in the first two minuets and on Skype/discord whatever tell my team to just wait out ten minuets? Then come back as long as they play safe and don't surrender I can try and mount a comeback with zero consequence for my team right? Or did I read option B wrong. Cause that sounds great for me I have zero interest in climbing but I will gladly sacrifice LP I don't want to give my friends loss prevention/forgiven every game + I won't get reported by my team.

I realize I might be a very specific case but Others sincerely just want to play a game and do things they consider fun being forced to play something they don't want is the antithesis of that. I don't mean to be rude but yours is a problem of your own making. The idea that you can only play one role or you feed is a pretty immature. Your lack of success is self-imposed. Nothing's stopping you from getting better at or enjoying different roles but you. I doubt very much that Riot's particularly interested in devoting resources to the stubborn, anti-social "Mid or feed" mentality you're demonstrating. It IS a team game, after all, and I think Riot's more interested in focusing on a the team experience.
I think you are misinterpreting what I mean I am not saying if I don't get my role I will purposefully feed. I am saying I am bad at video games. I will always be bad at video games I am fairly stupid and my hands don't move real quick so people who are generally smarter and have better reaction time then me will best me. Whats stopping me from getting better is a system in place that promotes generalization be good at everything. I guess your right I don;t enjoy other roles because I don't impact the game positively from them generally. I suck and there is not much I can do about that practice doesn't always make perfect and some people will just be bad at stuff its not in their skill set which I think is a fair statement. I don;t think of my self as antisocial I like playing with people I don;t like being unable to help my team. I think that having a place where people can go and have the atmosphere just be less competitive is a good thing. Like its crazy to say Riot is going to lose a huge chunk of its fans over team builder or Dynamic Queue. But it would be nice if they put some thought to those of us looking for a different experience. Hell I played bots fro level 1-30 and it was great but even I who am terrible at the game want some difficulty which I think is the human element. But in a game where I can't really assist the team outside of not leaving tower range is not a good spot for me to be in TB alleviated that a bit cause top I just had to keep that other player busy or push and run as soon as they saw that I was pushing. But other lanes have a little more going on and I cannot simply rely on my team (usually my friends) to win but I do impact the game be being a body. Others roles require a step up in intricacy and awareness that ends up badly not matter how hard I try. I guess my thing is you cannot expect everyone to be good at the game? (THIS NEXT BIT IS A TANGETN) I mostly think this because of Ranked and how skewed that is. Like I get rewarding winning but I think its pretty balls to people who can't get better. Also in that vein won't the game reach a point where like the best people at least up gold get shit but you got the bottom feeders like me that will never get there. So why not offer the option to buy the exclusive stuff (at least the skins) at a ludicrous price point? That way it is available, It still gives you the incentive to climb the ladder, and Riot can make some money off of offering a cool thing.
: Yeah, I think my point is that its TOO MUCH luck driven. The whole point is rewards for performing well with a champion. The isn't a MMO. Grinding isn't fun in any game so why should we have a system in League where we have to grind games to get keys. Honestly an easy fix to this is that if you get an S rating with a champion and you don't have any chests available you should get a key fragment (or 2) instead. That would fix the issue of these keys feeling like a grind.
I have fun grinding in Warframe. Blanket Statement yo watch that.
: Casual players played before Team Builder, and they will play now that it is gone. Two roles is not really that much to learn, particularly considering that most champions can fill more than one role. There is always blind pick and ARAM, in case that helps other casual players out while they wait. Riot just needs time.
I suppose you are correct though I cannot say the same about two roles being not much to learn at least for me its hard to grasp one role to even be less than mediocre at it but that's me others are different. Hopefully in that time Riot will think of something to cater to everyone or at least an alternative to being forced to fail at things your bad at.
: That only happens if a player refuses to learn a second role. Before team builder you were expected to learn all five roles, and if it was up to me that would still be the case. Each role teaches you things that can be applied to your main role that you can't learn by just playing your main. People are limiting themselves, and thereby hindering themselves, by only playing one role. If "lots of players" find learning to be a negative experience then perhaps they should play a different game that does not change.
The problem is league could host both experiences one for people who are willing to learn and get better and another for people that are just playing casually and trying to only have fun not worrying about the skill set they could potentially gain

And Because the role I want to play is heavily chosen then I ge my secondary many more times than my main (unless I am with friends) Well the solution is probably to try and get better at your secondary role. Your best/favorite role perhaps is the best/favorite role of a lot of other people, thus you can't always get exactly what you want. You have to be at least a LITTLE bit flexible.
And I think the disagreement form people like me come form here I am not saying your wrong but League provided an experience for both parties: Those who wanted to get better be flexible and learn multiple roles and excel at them to some level of proficiency. And that works for them and that is fun for them And then you have people who enjoy the game differently and may not be trying to climb or even necessarily get better they just like playing that one champ or that one role and that is fun for them. Both groups had a place to play and enjoy the game then one group get forced to join another group and form that problems occur because group two beings a different mindset and play style that may not lend to a competitive environment Also just a fairly large skill gap that can lead to toxicity and a bad time for all. I like League and I won't uninstall because I love playing I just feel bad for people I have to play with because I am gonna be bad / feed and not much I can do out side of let the opponent free farm so my team doesn't yell. And they would have been shorter had people queued up for tb, which they didn't because they were too long, because they didn't queue up for them, because they were too long. No if you were queuing for a popular role you could be waiting 10+ minutes. Either way, the fact that people didn't use it tells you everything you need to know. However long you want to say the queues were, they were too long. The disparity in role popularity was the problem and giving an option for 2 roles was the solution.
I guess my point of contention is by being forced to play two roles when I don't get one I am comfortable in I tend to do bad and then my entire team has a bad experience. And Because the role I want to play is heavily chosen then I ge my secondary many more times than my main (unless I am with friends) Like I am really bad at the game so playing support and making people mad or mid and making people mad are not good options. It is really partially I want to play a role I like but also I don't want to make the game suck for other people and I believe I did that best top lane where I didn't have to interact with the rest of the team as much.

: Well that what keeps people from making retarded decisions and if you do, you get punished. Exactly what makes this game so competitive.
But I play league for fun not competition.
: I view Dynamic Queue as the natural evolution of Team Builder. The biggest flaw of Team Builder was the queue time, and Dynamic Queue seems to have fixed that. It will cause most one trick pony players to learn a second role, but that's a small price to pay for the improved queue time.
Or make lots of players just have a negative experience? And by extension the team they get placed on cause they end up being bad and feeding or just never effecting the game so it effectively a 4v5
High5 (NA)
: This is what I hate most about LoL. People who are too lazy to learn the game. You will never understand or be decent at the game if you only know one role. The only good thing about team builder is that it separated the worst players from those people that actually enjoy playing the game. I loved 5th pick in the draft. It allowed me to either counter pick some awful enemy early picks I.e. first pick Kat or first pick Blitz. Last pick also allowed me to strengthen my own team when no one picked a tank or champ with hard cc. I wish people would try harder instead of complaining to Riot or asking for things that actively make the player base worse off.
"The only good thing about team builder is that it separated the worst players from those people that actually enjoy playing the game." People who played team builder enjoyed the game "I wish people would try harder instead of complaining to Riot or asking for things that actively make the player base worse off." Some people will just always be worse no matter the amount of effort they throw in
: I agree to a point. They might not want to good and may not care to learn all roles that I can understand. But then whining about it when you don't get your preferred role is just immature. In a game like LoL; that comes with the territory. Deal with it.
I believe the whining comes form playing when team builder was around and you always got your preferred role. So it didn't always come with the territory.

If the vast majority of players aren't plat why give a flying expletive and just let the larger number of people benefit? Nothing against plat plus but I think Riot should show consistency What would be the point of playing ranked then. "Bro lets play this game so we can get a higher rank so we can't play this game!" This balanced out the queue so more games will be played across the board. Why should the better players be punished for being better. Riot cares more about the top 5% than they do the rest and this is seen with the balance team, you have to be plat+ just to apply to it. Increasing q times becuase people can't play more than one role is retarted.
I mean that's cool if you play ranked but if you have zero desire to ever do so then the other queue would be nice. Ranked makes everyone more competitive and serious about the game I just like the game I am sure there are other people two who just like the game and aren't interested in reaching for plat+ I under stand balancing around higher levels of play but there was already in place a queue for people who did not want a stressful aggressively competitive environment to enjoy LoL in. they removed it and are driving people toward the more competitive mode. Making the game less fun by way of shoving players with different play experiences in mind is also not a good idea. Can you tell me you haven't played a game and got mad at someone who was not taking things seriously or simply they sucked and they lost you the game by feeding? Cause I promise I know that person and in many cases I am that person I am not good at the game and I am not going to get better no amount of practice will make me better but I will keep enjoying the game now I just have to do it in a less peaceful way.
: If they allowed players to wait for there one role than plat + would rarely see any games

: Illaoi Test of Spirit- More Power, Less Frustration
Would make Illaoi trash. She would be even more reliant on the opposite laner to be bad. Any one who build attack speed won't care and Illaoi will be zoned off her minions because her debuff is the only thing that kept people far enough away from her to matter. Straight p she can't fight you after a little poke and if your not a vessel well then so much of her damage disappears. As it stands dodging her telegraphed attacks is easy and I love playing her btu she needs something to make her not as bad as she is and I think this is not it. Her only positive is her debuff because it takes pressure off of the rest of your team because you can't feed if the other top laner is just not around.

That's what I did its a blast

: If I try to 'bake a cake' in my kitchen using only my shoes and a TV antenna... but I try really really hard.... will the results of my efforts win a baking contest? after all, I put in effort, right? It's not complicated. If you are playing to win, you make the best choices and do your absolute best to squeeze out maximum efficiency. Making inferior choices and ignoring efficiency is playing to lose.
Well I think the analogy is a little off. But first! Lets try and make it less extreme. So in LoL I pick champions to play the game, I don't say open up the client and then blindfold my self and then cut my wrist to make it nearly impossible to play. I think it would have been a little more sensible to say. If I try to bake a cake using only a drain pot and microwave. Like you still have to use things that might lead to baking a cake at least I think you do. Now will either of our results win in the Imagi Nation Baking contest, probably not but at least I could try and compete to some degree. I guess you could too but I think the tools you'd employ would likely create a sub par product. I think the Same applies to the game. You still pick champions who can do damage/CC/Take objectives ect. And I think unless your running into towers or dancing in fountain for 40 minuets. I think we both agree its not complicated but we both have differing views on what it means to be "playing to win" I think just doing your best to win is "playing to win" Also I still want to hear your take on my Hypothetical 10 man scenario.

Say I pick a bad champ I am still trying to win the game no matter the opposition. I still intend to win. I have a question now. If I get 10 friends and we all pick sub optimal champs in a custom are all 10 of us playing to lose? I guess I am just trying to understand you. I feel like I am trying to win either through a display of skill or trickery. O I am trying to understand where your coming from.
: It's the difference between playing to win and playing to lose. If you are playing to win,** you have to use every single advantage at your disposal **which includes selecting the most powerful champions, items, summoner spells, etc.... some people play to lose so they don't care about what is most powerful. If you are playing ranked, you cannot make inferior choices and expect to defeat superior players (I.e. those that made the correct choices). Blame only yourself, not the game.
I dunno if people picking bad stuff is them playing with the expressed intent to lose. more likely to lose. Probably. I would say it more playing for fun. Disregarding optimal choices isn't all that damning.
: Not exactly. My opinions are probably however much more representative of a typical LoL player than the salty kids on this website. Lots of people like the fun champs like Lee Sin, Zed, Vayne, Riven, Thresh etc and as such Riot should take into account the fact that those who are most unhappy, are the most vocal and not mistakenly believe that their general direction is wrong when generally speaking, most people who play this game (myself included), think Riot are doing a great job of keeping things fresh and fun.
Why? What exactly makes your opinions more indicative of a typical LoL player? Again: Lots of people like fun champs like Yorik, Sejuani, Veigar, Garen, Sion ect. and as such Riot should take into account the fact that those who are most unhappy, are the most vocal and not mistakenly believe that their general direction is wrong when generally speaking, most people who play this game (myself included), think Riot are doing a great job of keeping things fresh and fun. No one opinion is more right for any reason. And pick and ban rates aren't the entire community + the community will play whats proven to be good even if they don't like it to win. That can skew your numbers a bit. I personally find slow tanks fun and exciting others do too it is going to happen.
: I feel like champions that have a mini game to reward them. themselves or their team. kindred hunt thing is a good thing. is a good thing. but things like fioras passive or illaoi's E are kinda. things that shouldn't be in the game. they practically need to pick these two champions to make your life harder off the bat without doing anything. braum's mini game should be for himself. idk why allies can also contribute. if it was just a 4 hit passive I'd be like whatever we have a bunch of them but it doesn't bother me. the problem mainly i have is with illaoi E. its too painful and punishing and all she has to do is land her E because only a retard would fight an illaoi with his soul taken. only to get double damaged off his soul and attacks that hit him.
Hit her the soul goes away. If your not immobile or you do any amount of damage she will be in motion...and so will you.

: Why not just learn the game and stop complaining about Team Builder? Team Builder is for lazy people who can't be bothered with being decent team mates in a competitive game. Team Builder isn't LoL. Learning the map, the 5 lanes and how to build a decent team comp is LoL.
I am bad at video games and am probably as good at LoL as I am going to get I am what you call stupid and slow fingered Not everyone can learn to git gud. Some don't want to some literally are just going to be worse. I am glad you are good at the game I am not and will not ever be so playing a low stakes game is fun for me + I don't have to ruin your time be being terrible at the game if I am in a different Quene I think everyone wold be down with longer wait times if the teams you play with are on the same page of similar skill level. And able to perform.
: {{champion:119}} = Great minigame, rewarding on both sides to play around it, but primarily is focused on the player itself, not tedious. {{champion:432}} = Fantastic minigame, promotes using his highly mobile roam centric kit while giving tangible scaling strength to his passive. {{champion:150}} = Catching boomerangs, simple yet effective, both sides can play around with it enough and doesn't make Gnar weak when he can't or insanely strong when he can, just enough power. {{champion:203}} = The "inbetween", not too overpowered or game changing from either side, but helps influence decision making heavily, the jungle marks greatly incentivize playing her as a jungler rather than a laner which was the goal -- a jungling ADC. Arguably too well scaling, coupled with able to randomly mark Scuttlers which are too easy and safe to secure. Minor tweaks, but acceptable champion balance aside. {{champion:114}} = Horrible, half RNG based and kit DEFINING, if Fiora is doing her minigame well she stomps, if she isn't she is super weak, minimal interaction from her opponent aside from "run away" {{champion:72}} = Illogical, and has no point to exist. Creates the scenario of either auto-win when on the crystals, or auto-lose when off the crystals. Current iteration unbalanceable and silly. Maybe change them to NOT be giant stat buff auras but provide utility as super wards making Skarner a strong invader and vision control jungler without needing a sightstone. {{champion:420}} = Worst one *ever*, RNG on location of tentacles (to a degree), can be seen through fog of war so Illaoi is easy to track (fix please?), requires minimal interaction from Illaoi player and full time attention from her opponent -- the opposite of how it should work. {{champion:41}} = Redefined the character, arguably too powerful and scaling too well with player skill. I'll let a Master tier + GP main argue for or against this as I find it interesting enough to play against, but am far from good enough to pull off instant 3~4 barrel chains myself or play against those who can do it. (Talking Barrels obviously, the Silver Serpents is just a shitty gating on his ultimates power).
As far as Illaoi goes I disagree - The Tentacles only spawn at exact spots on walls and you can manipulate them It's very easy actually Also because of how you manage the passive if your playing right and placing the tentacles ( 2 by turret/1 on turret/1 forward in a bush.) The interaction is making sure you have damage because without your tentabros you have no damage. They do present a headache when you get pulled but you can dodge test of spirit and if not minions block it 100% of the time and then well punch the Illaoi she can take damage but I promise you will kill with positioning and well superior damage early. + If you have a handy dandy jungler Illaoi gets reemed its a fact! I really like Illaoi and want to say I main her one day so I hope this is enough to like rebut what you brought up. Also because I play so much Illaoi I can say GP's mini game very good hard to play against like test of spirit bt you cna just avoid it a good GP will still probably tag you but that just changes how you play the game. Fuck Fiora, Skarner is in an unfortunate place
: This is why I hope Riot doesn't take anything said here too seriously. This board hates the stuff myself and most people like, Lee Sin, Vayne, Thresh, Zed etc and worships the boring stuff, tanks, immobile mages, cinderhulk meta etc.
Wide reaching statement. Like is it cool if I say: Everyone hates Lee SIn, Vayne, Thresh, Zed and ect. And there is a small group that seems to dislike the popular fun stuff like tanks, immobile mages, and cinderhulk meta. I don't know if just applying personal opinion like calling things boring is very fair. Just as many people could consider Bursty/Snowbally dominators + Thresh boring. But I do personally like mingame champs anything to not have to get mechanically better at the game if I can still suck I'll be happy.

: Exactly my point, we spend money on this game, we buy champs, but then the champs we bought get a complete overhaul and are no longer the champs we bought, nor want. Yet we get no credit back for having a useless champ that we did not originally buy. SUCH AS FIORA!!!!! I want my champ back, or the money I spent for riot points to get her.
So what about the people that bought her with time? Played enough games to raise the IP shod Riot refund time too? (Side bar sorry) I guess in my eye you payed for riots character and other people did too I did but I personally like the changes so I got more for my money its great! But going through the player base an refunding their RP for not liking X would just get them appeased. And then people spend the RP again.
: Tell me: What aspect is charming in Blind Pick that you will have to switch to another game if Blind Pick retires? Troll picking? Instalocking? People arguing over roles? What exactly is the appeal of Blind Pick? My suggestion has already included a key aspect that will decrease the queue/waiting time by a ton, so what's the problem?
Gonna say I agree with you. But his problem seems to be he doesn't want to pick a lane or role he just doesn't want to play ADC. Which I think is fair TB let you play exactly what you want except fill. Wait time wasn't an issue he just wants to not know what he is going into and then help the team by being whatever the team needs. Guessing there is no argument for a fill player. Personally I hate risk I just want to play top so TB is great but I can see points to both.
: Really like the new champion select!
Just wish I could pick the champ and role I wanted so I don't suck shit and make the experience bad for others
VGDerek (NA)
: learn 2 roles its not hard
I am crap at this game I don't have the mental quickness for it but I like playing in top lane I don't feed or have to help others much. I am bad at video games I can't just get good TB was a good place for me to go and not make the game crap for others by being able to contribute to a team. It is hard glad your great at games not everyone is
: ^ expanding up to what this guy said ^ Because of the New Champion Select, players that play only one role will need to realize that they need to be good at another role because you are NEVER guaranteed the first role. Riot SPECIFICALLY said "You are guaranteed TWO roles" not ONE but TWO. Don't blackmail your team to "Oh, well I'm just going to play this champ this lane or Well I'm going to dodge or troll". Having a "backup" role (or champ for a different lane) that you are good at will ensure that no issues will come up during champion select. Riot already designed this champion select for us to eliminate this issue. At this point the problem becomes you as the player, because you are not skilled enough to handle two roles, and its you who chose to troll your team. My suggestion: Get good at two roles, so your team has a good game and have a higher chance at smashing the enemy nexus. =)

: Isn't that what Blind pick is for..?
There is less argument than Blind case you just get what you want. People don't fight over roles cause you get matched with 4 other people in the proper places.
: Or maybe, just maybe you could actually not be a one trick pony with no skills?
I personally can't this is not a joke, I am really simply not intelligent. I like league and TB provided me with a place to go to play it in a role that didn't require to much interaction from me. Nor thinking (Cause I am dumb) My mental quickness is a hinderance but in top lane its less bad or has been in TB matches at current it looks like bots only for me that kinda sucks.
: if you main mid or adc and only want those roles, then you're pretty boned. but if you main top, you'll get it 99% of the time as it is the least wanted role behind support. i don't see the issue here. learn to play multiple roles to an acceptable level, find 4 friends, or go play a new game
I suck at this game. I am terrible. I probably will not get much better I don't have a head for how to think about things on a macro level. SO I play top badly I don't got friends and League is fun. At least if I get the exact thing I wanted to play I get to have fun. People have told me to get good or what ever but I legit just don't have the mental quickness too. SO TB was nice for me this is close but worse
: Frankly all you people complaining so much about being forced to play more than 1 role are the problem, and this new select is the solution, so im not surprised there is so much salt here. Multiple positions is a core value of the moba experience and opting out of 80% of it is stupid enough without making everyone's wait times longer or trolling games because you just have to have things your way or the high way.
So the mass of people head over to new select and then the people who aren't trying or capable like myself of being good at all stay in team builder and our wait times shoot way up. I my self am cool with waiting. I don;t wait tot make the game bad for other people and if you went though my match history generally If I don't play top I am balls at the game. I am not a great player and am not going to get better I just don't have the head for it Keeping TB just makes things more inclusive for all players.
: What an over exaggeration. The only major differences between Team Builder and the new champ select are bans and selecting a role instead of a champ. Functionally, it does the exact same thing.
Two roles. And if your bad at one then you don't get to enjoy the game for he rest of your league of legends playing time?
: I think that's better for the game. You can refer to the other thread off my own comment for more context, but I honestly just do not think people playing ONE champ they want to play, regardless of enemy comp, is good for this game. It may be the game YOU want to play (and many others evidently), but it's ultimately not best for the game in the long term. I firmly believe in Riot gently nudging people to play the game in a way that encourages them to get better and engage in proper teamwork. Teambuilder fails to do that, and I'm glad to see it go.
SO Riot is asking some of its players to buzz off? I am not good at League and I probably will not improve much because I am bad at thinking on a macro level and remembering to see other things happening (leads to me getting ganked a lot) So play top lane badly is like the end all for me. TB was kinda the only way I could secure that. Now I might be forced to not play where I am comfortable and then I end up dragging my team into loses. It sucks cause I like League for the champs and the visual look of it. It is also fun to play Although I tend to not have as much fun when I am getting yelled at for X mistake and Y engage. Also playing blind pick does the same thing just with out the guarantee. Basically I am not seeing a problem with people that do wish to get better and are capable of doing so should be able to play the new select and it will be great. But for more casual or just plain bad people like myself TB was a nice place to play league and fracturing the pool of players wold increase waits a bit but I think the majority of players wold head over to New select and I wold be super fine with waiting longer for being able to play the game in peace. And then you'd get matched with more like minded people in both queues. I think its pretty healthy for Riot and the game if everyone is happy and the larger portion of the community is moving on while the less competitive folks continue to enjoy the game.
Reinou (NA)
: You know Illaoi is broken
Played some strong lady and I have learned a few things....if you are in motion like for real you just beat her cause all of her shit save test of spirit is walk out of range prone. Best part is she usually has to build damage first so you can merc her early and then she is to far behind to work right. Also ganks before six are her worst enemy cause she cannot get out if shes being that aggressive coordinate with your jungler and kill her over and over and over. than enjoy being to far a head for her to work with. also remember be aware of the W + Tentpoles if she jumps at you or around move away
: I miss the average longer game times
I have been playing lots of 15-20 minuet games erring more toward the lower end unless I play a custom game myself then the games get past 30 minuets.
: Honestly shorter games aren't that bad but...
For the first time ever I surrendered. It sucked cause I just couldn't justify staying in the game .I also closed league afterwards cause I just didn't feel like playing. I am sure this is gonna become a trend of one game days for me
