Your original post was removed because it belongs in Gameplay, not Player Behavior. http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance You can read your moderation messages in the top-right hand corner of any page on the Boards. You should have a "1" next to an exclamation mark to the left of your Summoner Name.

: Can Riot discuss the stack they use for their site?
From personal observation, I'd guess that the tech stack for the Boards is: * [Knockout (KO) JS](http://knockoutjs.com) as a Javascript Library for front-end * [MongoDB](https://www.mongodb.com/) as a NoSQL database to store data for user profiles, sub-boards, threads, etc. * [Node.JS](https://nodejs.org/en/) and potentially Nginx as a backend and proxy, respectively All on a Linux environment hosted on AWS with CloudFront distribution.
: If you're applying for Riot, do they ask if you play the game followed by your IGN?
As part of pre-screening, applicants are asked: "If you have one, please tell us your summoner name" **See:** https://www.riotgames.com/en/work-with-us/job/1141423 This may be used for screening an applicant's in-game behavior, which may then be discussed further in an interview. However, the fact that he's received an interview is generally a good sign, and it likely indicates that their behavior is something that Riot may be willing to work with them on controlling.

Just following up here- initial tests are promising, and a good amount of the functionalities have been optimized and fixed for Internet Explorer. Still no ETA yet, but there's been good progress made so far.

I'll share that we're currently looking into ways to reduce the amount of necro'd threads by implementing some sort of visual feedback/warning with a heads up on either the last comment's date or the OP's post date, probably the former. I can talk to Periscope in the morning about this moderation action, but I understand where you're coming from. Hopefully we can get this rectified soon.

I think we could own up to calls that werent the best a lot more too. However, opinions as you mentioned, are different all over the place. It's hard to pin down an exact right way to do things for all situations. We do the best we can and we are people (volunteer people at that) so the "hate training" who you mentioned (excellent description) makes people defensive. We should be able to deal with it better but we also are not here to be harassed or insulted. I completely agree. Mods are single people who have to deal with literally the entire boards community. We shouldn't attack them for small, minute shit.

: When the heck did things on GD get this thin-skinned to where saying 'bronzie talk' isn't allowed?
I think there's a lot that the Boards moderation team could do better, especially and ideally in General Discussion. I'm aware that most notably since the moderation team started moderating more globally rather than on specific sub-boards, we've seen a lot of inconsistency with the scrutiny that some moderators give to GD. I also agree that it's unfair to the General Discussion community when the variation of enforcement of said rules affects this community. With that being said, I'm sure that the moderation team can work on further aligning its moderation stances; and we can also work towards clarifying what type of behavior is and isn't acceptable in GD. This would probably be a conversation that spans multiple weeks, but I think it'd be valuable for the sake of clarity and consistency. With regards to the Heralds' position within the volunteer program, I can see where a lot of this sentiment is coming from. I can't speak for the other Heralds on the matter, but if I had it my way, I wouldn't have it my way; and I'm pretty confident I'm at a point where I can say that I do more supporting of other moderators' visions than pushing my own beliefs or agenda. And finally with regards to the Laughing Fish's dismissal, while I didn't necessarily take part in the discussions that led up to this action, I can understand where the frustration and disappointment were and are coming from. There are times where philosophies diverge; where some semblance of unbiasedness at the expense of the mental health of another community member was not a trade-off that was fully understood at the time. I understand that I, as a Herald at the time, failed in stepping in when I should have; said failures disproportionately costing you. In the end, while I don't claim to fully understand General Discussion culture, I can understand where you all are coming from. We'll work on further discussing this topic with you guys in the coming weeks, but you can always drop a message here, Discord, or Discuss the Boards with any feedback that you have; I, Jikker, Boggy, Fizz, Eva, or any of the other volunteers will make sure that it reaches the rest of the moderation team.

: Hi Guys, Just A Quick Question
If Player Support is using "On Hold" as suggested by the platform developer, >What is it used for? With it you can track tickets that require input or resolution from a third party. This gives you another level of detail so that you can more accurately track who currently has responsibility for a ticket. However, it can technically be used for a variety of reasons, from looking further into an issue or request to following up with another individual. Generally speaking, Player Support might give you a reason as to why your request is set to “on hold”; if they don’t, you can always just follow up if there’s no update in about a week or so, depending on request type. https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/203661576-Adding-the-On-hold-ticket-status-to-Zendesk-Support
: Ping in Japan?
Definitely odd, but not unheard of. There are several factors that go into your ping metric, and the best way for us to understand what's causing it is a tracert. Can you run a traceroute to the League of Legends Japan servers? You can find those instructions here: https://support.riotgames.com/hc/ja/articles/201752674-%E3%83%AD%E3%82%B0%E3%83%95%E3%82%A1%E3%82%A4%E3%83%AB%E3%81%AE%E5%8F%96%E5%BE%97%E6%96%B9%E6%B3%95#wq2 Since this is the wrong sub-board, I'll have to close this thread, but I encourage you to continue this conversation on the [Ask the Community](https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/ask-the-community) sub-board. Thanks!
: Probably already on here but I think it would be really nice to have a few boards dedicated to the discussion of certain positions. (IE: Top, Mid, Jungle, Support and ADC) I would really like to get on and have a place I can go to and easily find or start a thread that has to do with my favored position.
We've been tossing around the idea of adding some sort of topic tagging feature, but implementation is the real tricky part here. I think fragmenting the Gameplay sub-board into smaller sub-boards isn't necessarily the best idea, even if it does organize things a bit. I'll bring up the idea with some other folks though!
: NorthEast/ SouthEast what about west?
This is purely from observation as a player, but I'll give a crack at this question. Essentially, the servers were moved from Washington to a more central location within the network routes in North America. With such a west-positioned server, players on the east cost were consistently getting about 120+ ping on the North American servers. As it stands now, most players will get between 0 and 80ms, with a few outliers in the further parts of Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii. But that's to explain a server move. "How about a North America West server?", you ask. As a region, Europe is roughly the same geographic size as the United States; however, as a collective region, Europe actually maintains the largest playerbase; you can take a look at the breakdowns here: https://www.statista.com/statistics/711469/league-of-legends-lol-player-distribution-by-region/ Splitting North America would break up the existing 10%, while splitting Europe has created the 25%-15% split between the two servers. Matchmaking experiences would not be the quality as they are now in North America, and in the end, players would likely end up focusing on one server over the other, leaving the playerbase split somewhere around 8%/4%, with extra padding for players who would consistently play on both servers. All-in-all, trying to save a few milliseconds at the expense of other gameplay experiences is a trade-off; one that I personally don't believe would be too valuable for the North American playerbase.

: On the Subject of the Current State of the RP Boards
Hi all, I've met a few of you on the RP Discord, but for those of you who aren't familiar with me, hi again! I'm Wuks, and I'm one of the folk who works on improving the Boards, in terms of functionality, design, and engagement (each to varying degrees, depending on time). If you feel like improvements to this sub-board is limited due to technical limitations, I want you to just ignore those perceived limitations and drop any thoughts you have on making the Roleplay sub-board better. Some of your ideas may, in fact, not be feasible; others may definitely be feasible, and I'll try to be as transparent as to what goes in which of these categories. Your passion for this community is admirable, and I'd like to help you all in any way that I can.

If that region is white, the forum name is neaely unreadable. For sure, I can definitely pass on the critique to DTN, who worked on generating the Varus banner. In the meantime, we've replaced the banner with one of the images that represent Piltover; it hopefully adds enough contrast without blending too much with the header text.

Ticket/request histories are generally made unavailable when they mention security questions, or other confidential information. This is likely done to protect the player in the case that their Support account is compromised, the unauthorized user will not have the information to recover the account or cause more confusion during the recovery process. I'd recommend writing up another ticket with more information and a question, and see if they're able to provide you more information on your request.
