: Better to finish placements now or wait?
You’ll have to do them again anyway
: Conqueror nerf for Mages are in the wrong direction
I feel both nerfs are correct. Conq shouldn’t be lasting 8s to begin with and mages shouldn’t be generating stacks faster than a melee champ.
: I mean do you need to build anti healing vs her? She can never really kill you. Just build your normal wave pushing items and go roam with your jungler or wait for a gank.
Problem is you get shoved out over time due to poke you can't really respond to.
: https://imgur.com/TwkzaZL havent played alot. in nearly every game im close to top of damage charts . only game i really got my ass kicked was vs a mord. from what i can tell mord is #1 ranked top laner atm. sooo. out of 9 games in last 2 weeks 5-4 record (12-8 last 20 for 60% wr )
Oh wow that's actually a pretty clean history.
: typically as maokai with his healing and cc he can sustain her damage unless she gets ahead or has ignite but maokai isnt going to out trade her. but im not grandmaster. ps i think the biggest BS on akali is the unlimited range on her R when she has you marked.
Aw :/ yeah akali just too bs at a high level Is ur Mao doin pretty good preseason tho? Kinda wanna try him out.
: this is akali who isnt an auto attacker so why would you ever consider bramble vest ? here of late as a maokai OTP top laner, my 1st item is typically {{item:3211}} to have non stop regen and hp in lane. and vs an akali who is going to do magic damage it gives mr
: ? What tanks are you playing? Since by the time she is healing from conqueror you should be leaving. But also probably just don't build anti heal since it's shit vs ap champions as a tank and probably better just to wait out laning.
I wrote this as I was going in game as Shen. I never thought about it cuz I really don't play tanks much but I realized, what really can you build? Game went well cuz the Akali wasn't playing optimally (not abusing how much she outranges Shen allows me to just trade with Grasp Q autos w/out needing E), but against an actually good Akali I'm pretty sure I'd just be screwed.

Idk what you mean. If you have 4 ghouls, Q last hits spawn a ghoul if Maiden is within spawning range and won't create a grave. If you don't have 4 ghouls, Q last hits will spawn a grave instead. I prefer this interaction.

We want him reworked *because* we despise him. We want a Kennen that isn't this Kennen.
: The problem with kennen is his passive and lack of damage also not to mention his reliance on flash ulti with his e to work properly. He really needs some better numbers less clunky animations and more reliability. A visual upgrade is much needed as well.
No. Full rework. Kit is cancer when good, dogshit when bad. That's an indication of a design flaw, not a numbers issue.
Yenn (NA)

: I agree, lots of what old Aatrox had remained at the time of relaunch. Knockup Q (didn't need to be 3 parts but still) check, slow (changed to W )check, healing check, revive and boost, check. But they removed the one thing that made Aatrox a good fighter, his attackspeed. He went from a champ who hung back waiting for the right time to go in with 1 form of CC which wasn't the easiest to land, a bit of burst and healing OR enhanced damage, to a AD caster poke laner and up to 4 CCs in his combo, with ludicrous healing the entire game. That's a big gameplay change even if many of his features remained.
Yeah noone is saying he isn't the same champion anymore, he's not. I just dislike that people bring up other reworks like him and say that he's the only one who lost his old playstyle. Also Aatrox healing kinda ass until later now. Doesn't hit ludicrous unless he pops ult w/ DD and/or Ravenous stacked.
xWARx (NA)
: should be used as an example of us fighting back for the champs that were completely removed and just changed with no care for the playerbase use it as a line in the sand type of thing showing that the community doesnt support that kind of change to champions where their identities are removed from the game.
I mained both old and new Yorick. Old Yorick was a toxic mess of a design that should never be brought back. He was fun to play sure, but facing him was a nightmare. Same goes for old Urgot. He was basically what cassiopeia and ryze top are is now: completely bully your lane opponent off cs and outscale them (except for Jax back then). And ofcourse same for old Galio. Whenever he was strong, he was basically a 0 counterplay waveclear and poke mage tank that you couldn't retaliate against in lane. Then after lane, he had his once per 5 minute 0 counterplay flash ult that completely warped games around it. These designs were removed for good reasons. Aatrox on the other hand was a pretty decent design that they just couldn't get right. That and he was sort of stepping on the toes of Tryndamere in terms of what role they fulfilled in the game, with Tryndamere just being "better Aatrox" 90% of the time. For the most part though, it's just that they couldn't balance him properly, leaving him either op or underpowered most of his life. I think they just pushed the rework out too fast imo. They gave him a minirework while they were already working on the rework. The minirework was pretty good, made him decent again without being overpowered. This may just be a case of "we already spent too many resources on this we might as well finish it". But now let's ask the real question, do you really want to play old Aatrox right now? Do you think you'll have a good time laning against current Akali/Ryze/Cass/Tryn/Kled/etc. as old Aatrox? It'd probably be an unplayable nightmare tbh.
: someone gets it, literally most of the reworks that have had BIG changes have been like this, changes with call backs to the old mechanics, with a more cohesive kit that is less toxic, easier to balance, and fits the theme better
Yeah exactly. In general the abilities kinda do something similar to the old kit but in a much different way. Aatrox passive is reminiscent of his old W Q is like his old Q without the dash, but adding in E+Q3 makes the similarity more apparent W is replacing his old E, still slowing but with a new mechanic E is basically first half of old Q R is still the transform and gain stats skill I can understand the argument to have old Aatrox back in the game, but these people need to stop acting like Aatrox was treated any differently than other reworks of the same scale.
: Well if that was an issue you could always implement bans. I see your point because the constant shoving. Yes some champs would be better then others, but at the same time even in normal league some champs are more optimal then others. Have you seen the way they made the new 1v1 in All Stars 2019?
Yes, and I've seen Trist and Lucian picked in half the games.
: Depends. Are they asking for a boost or for duoboosting? If it's the latter, that's not really punishable. The *former*, however, very much is punishable, and you should submit a support ticket on that.

Damaging a champion or large monster while the Blood well is draining refills the Blood well partially. Just split it up :) Seems like a good idea to me btw.

: Riven versus Urgot.
A good Riven won't lose that. It's entirely in Riven's hands to lose or win. Just do the usual priming of Q3 -> full combo but make sure you dodge E. Fighting in minions helps a ton too if you dodge E and Q, cuz then some of his W autos will target minions instead since he didn't get the lock on. And of course, make sure you can actually perform the combo correctly.

: the other 3 still have hints at the old kits however aatrox is completely devoid of his style but his name no care at all in the champ design to keep the old one just complete new.
I really don't know what you mean at this point. He has lost no less than any other champion listed there. Aatrox is still about healing, he still has his stab -> heal move, he still has his "power-up" ult, etc. These are extremely shallow comparisons as I'm sure you can imagine, but it's just as shallow as: Galio's Q is still a wind blast. Urgot's ult still suppresses and fears. Yorick still summons things. So I really don't know what you mean by Aatrox doesn't have hints to his old kit like everyone else when his hints are just as shallow as theirs. None of these champs play anything like they used to.

: Jungle issues need to be resolved before support + carry solo lanes become a dominant strategy again
This is a Yi+Taric Lulu+Twitch etc. problem that has existed for ages. Even when it's not popular, you still see it at the very least once a month and it's cancer every time.
: Why Does Ludens Proc Spellshield?
What if Banshees/EoN didn’t have a 40s cd?
: We just ignoring how anyone with higher range can just kill him with no retaliation?
Honestly man, that is an issue. It's an issue we ignore because Ryze himself is an issue because he does the exact same thing to people with less range than him and because he even just flat out outscales the people that do outrange him and then decimate them too. What we really care right now is dealing with the Ryze cancer. I do agree that helping him out in matchups vs champs with much larger range should be on the drawing board too, but not until the former issue is addressed.
: Ryze's upcoming nerf helps, but doesn't accomplish much.
His scaling is just screwed up and Tear invalidates his mana issues too easily. His ability mana scalings per rank need to go up to at least somewhat keep up with how fast Tear negates them. And his damage needs to not suddenly go bonkers the moment he completes an Archangel's and again when he completes a Seraphs -- an item that mainly offers mana, cdr and a mana-scaling shield. I think this can somewhat be solved by changing his passive from a % mana increase to a flat mana increase with AP of which the ratio scales with level. This way Arch/Seraphs is still a powerspike but not a ridiculously exponential increase.
: Fix Thresh Hook animation to match the hitbox.
Instead of the stupid lolipop they should just have hooks slowly expand their hitbox and their visuals as they travel. Lolipopping feels great on the user end and makes going for long range hooks less punishing, but holy hell is it cancer for the victim. Or just remove the mechanic altogether and let player skill be the deciding factor rather than some silly handicap mechanic.
: How to deal with feeding teams?
Lose. We call those "coinflips". Definitely look over if you could have roamed more, since roams increase the chances of your allies not feeding (based on them potentially getting a lead off your roams). This is especially important for Jungle, Mid and to a less extent Support.

: But why even mention WoW in the first place, as if it's somehow related to League? As if it's not implied that you have other things to do/play, besides League? Everyone has other game(s) they play when they've done playing League for the day. And even if this happens to be the only game you're playing, you have other things to do then wait like a sad puppy in front of League's Ranked door and wait until it's "playable" again. I'm assuming you're a functional human being and that you have other hobbies/priorities in life besides League and that it isn't on your mind 24/7.
"yeah I'll stay on WoW with my priest." can be reasonably translated to "I will stop playing League for now and instead spend the time I would have potentially spent on League games on WoW instead." Sometimes humans will generate phrases like this that imply something else as well. For instance, "Lasagna is pretty mediocre, I'll have spaghetti" implies that the person having the spaghetti is not going to have lasagna. Given he did not explicitly or implicitly state anywhere else in his comment that he will not be playing League, stating that he will be playing WoW and implying that he won't be playing League is a valid way to state that he won't be playing League. OP specifically suggests resistances after a point giving you a type specific shield that scales with the amount of relevent resistances for that type. The idea itself - tanks being rewarded for building resistances - is not a bad idea. But rewarding specialization isnt smart because it promotes specialization and pigeonholding; Malphite and Rammus for example are _already_ really good against AD comps. Making them EVEN BETTER against AD comps isnt quite healthy for the game though. Which is why i suggested what i suggested; Rewarding hybridization of resistances to promote healthy tanks.

He's a late game scaling champion. He has to earn 850g before he reaches his endgame fantasy.
: What do you like and dislike about this year's Preseason?
The SLOW answer to obvious problems, having to wait full patch cycles rather than small mid-patch changes to correct blatantly obvious problems (such as Conqueror Cassiopeia). If they continue this trend, we're going to hit Season 10 with a whole lot of unbalanced shit. Changes need to be made more rapidly during preseason so that it can be balanced by the time season starts, so we don't get stuck with the "season just started they'll change it at mid-season" excuse.

Yep Aatrox is a Diver and you're right on Swain. Aatrox is classified as a Juggernaut, but he doesn't function as one at all. He's a dive in with ult zoom and wreak havoc champ, similar to Vi and Diana.
: Riot did not really affect the impact that the jungling role had. Instead, they reduced the amount of experience that ALL junglers acquired. While this was a nerf, it did very little to change the "gank forever" mentality because gank junglers benefitted from XP drops simply by leeching from lanes and still providing more impact the only farm-catered junglers who did well coincidentally had high clear times or new amounts of relevance in the game that kept them able to compete. Nunu is such an example with great clear times and now able to crowd control and deal damage in a large area
Yeah power level and game impact are separate things that only somewhat correlate with each other. Jungler power went down this preseason but the importance of the jungler went up. They still have the most important role to play in the game and thus are the highest impact role. My problem is that junglers not only want to maintain their status of the highest impact role with the ability to influence the entire map but also want to be on the same power level as players pseudo-locked to lanes.

I didn't say your role was OP, I'm pointing out that the role must be better than you acknowledge, or else you wouldn't have enough agency in your games to achieve what you did. Requires some self-awareness and suppression of EGO.
Here's the deal: If the odds are roughly 50/50 RNG teammates and enemies blahblah and you're the only factor you control, even when playing the lowest possible impact position you can you can still be more of an influence than your counterpart which in turn increases your team's overall chances of winning. Your position doesn't need to be the carry position to consistently win games, you just need to keep winning your part of the game and hope everyone else does too.
