: Crit Item Explorations
So I know this would not work with certain item setup, but why not make crit a stacking percentage to remove the rng of it? Like if you have 25%, your next auto makes it 50, then 75, and then at 100 you actually get the crit. Both you and the opponent now play around this empowered auto, similar to playing around Caitlyn passive, and no more losing a fight because you just couldn't get that crit off, and no more having that Trynd get lucky crits and destroying you. Rather then changing items influencing crit, I feel like crit in itself should be altered. Just my opinion though

: Not entirely sure, but as far as I know loss forgiven tends to be enabled when there are some larger internet or similar related problems that are affecting many players. It is possible that some ISPs had issues which were causing many players to have severely degraded experiences for example. Again, I don't actually have too much context, but that is the type of thing that can happen in this situation.

Do to your phrasing though, it sounds like loss forgiven has been used before. I don't play much ranked, but I'm still surprised I've never heard about this. Do you know when Loss Forgiveness was implemented? Like in Season 3 for example?
: Loss forgiven was enabled yesterday briefly. Rules for that are that the losing team won't lose LP and winning team gains half. I'm not 100% sure on the reasoning of that but part of it is to mitigate LP inflation.

So, was this just a small test done to gain some data on a new system implementation? It's very strange to have something like this happen without notifying players before hand, unless it's a secretive thing still in production.
: Can we allow crit ADCs to play the game again please?
Getting kills is prevalent if your a champ designed around it (Ie: Draven). If you're playing a crit adc, focus less on harass and killing and more on CS. Your ultimate goal is 200 cs at 20 or 300 cs at 30 min. Yea, the jungler will probably tax your wave, and yes, you might die and get set back, but aim for that goal and you'll find yourself be just as effective.

: I'm at a bit of a loss
TLDR; League is a cacophony of love and hate. Keep playing for fun my friend, try not to let shit get you down. I was burned out of league a little bit ago, basically for the exact reasons you stated. It's actually eerie reading your post, as it feels as if someone took my exact thoughts and put them on the forums. I know exactly how you feel. But then Pyke came out. I decided to play a blind pick game. Someone else got Pyke and said "Hey, let's all be hook champs; Thresh, Pyke, Nautilus, Blitzcrank and Darius." And every person, without saying anything else in the chat, started to lock in those champs, one by one, and so I did as well. And it was fantastic and hilarious and fun and even the enemy team was making jokes and saying "wp" after certain plays. 4 complete strangers all listened to one guy's absurd idea cause it sounded fun, and it was one of the best games I've ever had. A couple games later, I got a Pyke as my support that trolled me the entire game, took my cs, left me to die, ks'd (not using his ult to kill so I wouldn't get the gold), spamming taunts at me and literally just standing under turret so I couldn't walk up to cs without be murdered. I've honestly never been so tilted in my life. I ended up telling my team I'm muting everyone to try and cool myself, get past the tilt, and just play the game to the end. Afterwards I find out that he was part of a 3 man queue and most likely trolling me because he and his friends thought it was funny. Of my 4 years playing this game, that was the most miserable experience I've had with it. Yes, I've had worse games where 3 of my teammates int then run around in base to not go afk just to say no to the surrender vote, but that never got to me as much as this one game. This, my friend, is League of Legends. Where even the most mundane game mode (this includes bots) will have players who's competitive drive refuses to accept anything less than perfection from those around them. And where the next game, you could meet you next best friend and end up being invited to their wedding (this is true, I'm gonna try to make it this August). League is filled with the best and the worst, the mundane and the enraging. My only recommendation to you, is don't quit. Take a break, sure, but do know that eventually, you find some people who want to do Riven/Fizz bot lane, or have everyone take smite and take half of the enemy's jungle in the first 2 minutes of the game. Keep playing for fun man. Accept the bad game and the bad people, take it in stride, cause eventually you'll find the opposite, and it'll be worth it.

: Nami's Laning Phase
Everyone has champs that they despise for one reason or another (mine is personally Blitzcrank and Master Yi). Some kits are just tilting to certain people and with over 140 champs, odds are everyone has at least one champ they find frustrating to play against. IMO to deal with Nami's damage + heal, trade an auto so at least she doesn't get the full healing, and take advantage of the cooldown. If she uses it to harass, she now only really has a bubble to dissuade you. If you can dodge it, she's in for a world of hurt. Also, keep in mind that her w is a point and click ability, so it will draw minion agro. Early game, if you can pull her close into your minion wave when she does it, all you need is 1 or two auto's plus all the minion damage to make her lose the trade.

Like I said man, it's still a super rude thing to do, but ultimately not against the rules, as you are choosing to listen to them. A long time ago, I knew of a guy who would msg you right before he ganked so that he could catch you off guard while you were typing a response. Rude and unsportsmanlike, but still within the rules as you are choosing to react to it. Ultimately, play to win every game, even if it's going to be a remake. : [GAMEPLAY] Kindred does not fire her Q due to fog of war bug
It's based on vision. If you have vision of the target by the time you land, you fire the arrows. If you don't, then there's no target and you shoot nothing. This is why you didn't hit Karthus, he was still inside the bush when you landed. Should be noted, when I say "landed", I mean the game has processed that you landed, not the animation of you landing. If you watch the video you posted, you can see that you character stops moving (Game processes that you landed) about 1 or 2 frames before Karthus leaves the bushSame thing with the wolves, but this is more related to the way you gain vision in the game. In league, you gain vision in intervals (I mean gained vision from your characters max distance btw, not vision gained from something already in your vision radius IE someone walking out of a bush), not as a build up. So, your vision will increase and decrease at a rate of lets say 5 units, not one unit. This is to make the game a lot smoother and cleaner. However, when your vision is suddenly gained based off of you base vision (IE wall hopping), the game first processes your vision as soon as you have cleared the wall (the literal exact point you have crossed majority of the wall, even if your still a part-ways going through the wall) then slowly give you more vision based on where you land as a gradient. To put it more simply, you have to be pixel perfect when hopping over the wall at just the right spot of the wall to have the proper vision to hit the wolves. This is why you never hit the far right wolf, even though sometimes you are in range after the hop. Also, you need to be right against the wall before the hop. The range of the hop is about 20 units after the wall, putting you in range. If you go over the video though, you can see at one part where you fail to hop the wall, but don't hit any of the wolves. That's because they are outside of you range if your touching the wall on that side.

I agree with you, only be able to show your side of the chat logs and not the whole chat log can severely misconstrue the overall atmosphere of the original conversation. However, in relation to your reference of law, your posting you chat log to the public. As a civil citizen, I'm not allowed to see all of the evidence on a specified case, nor am I allowed to know how they defendant defends themselves during the case, I'm only allowed to know what the case is about and the final judgement. Riot, in this case the judge and jury, are the ones that go over all of the case notes and devise what punishment is appropriate for the offense. Further more, you already accepted their terms and services in order to play the game, so if the decided today to ban every single League players accounts, we would all have to accept it. You've already agreed to their contract, similar to saying "I will speak the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth" in court, and if you decide to not bite your tongue, your case will be thrown out. Ultimately, there's only three reasons to create a thread about one's ban/suspension/punishment. 1. You are mad, and are simply venting out your frustration. 2. You are unsure of the adequacy of the punishment, and are looking to the public to explain the situation from their view. 3. You feel as though you are being treated unfairly by Riot and are unable to communicate with Riot in order to fix the problem. Of the three stated reasons, I have seen a lot of no. 1 & 2. I have only ever seen one case of the third, in which case the person created a thread only because they had tried for hours to rectify the situation with Riot Support, stopped receiving reply's, and posted a thread as a last resort, which was then answered and dealt with by riot employee's with 20 minutes. If you are genuinely wanting to solve your situation, I suggest creating a support ticket and plea your case to someone who has all of the information.

Screw that, if my KDA at the end of the game is 1/7/22, I get punished for that. Never gonna play adc again. > > Moving on. I'm mid. I'm only gonna pick champions that can cs very easily or assassins that will get me kills. Who cares if we lose because of it, I'll still get lp if I have good cs; if I have a good amount of kills. I no longer care about the team, only myself, as I'm only being graded based on my performance, so why bother helping everyone else? I'm ksing every single chance I get. > > > I understand your frustration over games being decided based on who's the weakest link, rather than the strongest. But incentivizing personal performance in this way would alter how the game is played. Besides, there's already tons of ways to show appreciation to being a good player, with mastery, the rank you get (S-, S, S+) and honors. What I suggest you propose instead is a new game mode of literally 1v1 if you want personal acknowledgement over team acknowledgement. Different things for different roles, should count assists more when ur playing support. If you know how to play you wouldnt be 1/7/22 at the end of the game. I mean they should count Damage in teamfights too not just kda and cs. As i said They should take into account things like kp and overall damage which means the more you play with the team the more you are rewarded
What about the Tryndamere that split pushes all game and ends up winning? Or the Kayle that ends up using her ult to save the carries life? There are too many variables to account for to make your idea realistic. You could go 0/0/0, have less than 100 cs and still be the player that decides victory for your team. Having everyone get rewarded based on certain stats will just cause the same frustration that happened when mastery 6 and 7 came out, with people desperately trying to get an S. Yes, certain players can 100% end up getting carried in a game, and others will 100% carry a game, but your mmr will balance you out into the Elo you belong. The game will already balance out your rank. However, if someones lp is taken away because some stat generator decided that the Jax who farmed jungle all game is more deserving of it, the community would abandon the game in a heart beat
: Reaching plat is impossible
I'm not a play player, but there are two important things you need in order to climb. Game sense, and game mechanics. I can only gather so much from looking at your op.gg, replays would be much more useful. Looking over your op.gg, I can see that your an adc main, so I'll just throw some general stuff at you. Ideally, you'll be getting 10 cs per minute, or to put it as an actual goal, aim for 200 cs at the 20 minute mark. Understand different synergies with your team, and different counters to the enemy team. Should you chose Ezreal for the relative lane safety and poking power, or grab Twitch for the powerful teamfighting? Is your support and aggressive play maker, or is a healing/shielding enchanter? What about the enemy team comp, are they better at teamfighting? Lane control? Etc. Make sure to move in-between every auto attack, effectively cancelling the latter half of the animation and either gaining distance to follow or kite. Understand and get used to the different max auto attack range on different adc's to maximize this effect while staying as far away as possible.

Further more, it's on a delay before it activates, making it a lot less accessible to champs that can't constantly be in combat. Yea, now literally every champ in the game can do true damage if they chose, but you can't use it to burst a target randomly, and it's not bonus damage, it's a portion of you damage. Meaning if you're not building damage, it get pretty weak. Further more, it's true damage, not resistance shredding. Making it very useful for that Garen with 400 armor and not nearly as useful on that adc with 60. True damage is fine, as long as it's balanced. > > As for mages, which seems easier; more efficient; easier to fix if something goes wrong: Buff 30 champs? Or nerf 114? Rather nerf 114 in the current melty meta tbh. Also, these are the same champs that could already melt tanks with conqueror keystone. It was just a bit more palatable on melee AD champs since others preferred other keystones. Now they get best of both worlds. The problem is you SHOULD be able to itemize to defend against someone. Removing the ability to makes 0 sense. If someone builds armor pen, you build HP, if someone builds % damage you build armor/mres. If someone builds true damage the ONLY counterplay is to build more damage, defense isn't an option anymore, and sorry but tanks should be able to tank.
I agree, tanks should be able to tank. However, in other games (MMo's for example), tanks are meant to soak from the enemies, and the way of doing so is to taunt. Unless every tank in the entire game had a taunt, this is not possible for League. So, when you have a tank go in during a teamfight, what's the reason to attack him, and not the other enemies? What is the point of his tankiness if no one is attacking him? Solution: make the tank to damage. Not a massive amount, but enough that they need to be dealt with when possible. In comes the tank meta. A 0/7 Maokai can solo and beat a 7/0 Twitch. He's no longer a tank, he's a one man army. Now put this into top lane. A Riven's only chance would be to kill the enemy Malphite early level, because once he backs, he's just going to build a bunch of armor, and then you can't do anything. The reason for introducing the keystone was to make a way for fighters to actually be playable top lane when picked against tanks. Also, there is a counter to most instance of true damage: health. True damage is a flat number, thusly the more health you have, the less impact you'll feel. There are champions who disregard this, Vayne and Fiora come to mind, but this thread seems to be oriented towards the Keystone, rather than champions that have % health true damage.

: Sure - we're exploring some changes that power down Kha'Zix R in some capacity but it's still early on in testing so can't really discuss it past that.
There's some tentative changes to Kha'zix on PBE where his evolved R invisibility is changed from 1.5 seconds after leaving brush to 1 second. This might be what you were curious about
: New solo queue change
Mmmk, so let's say your proposal goes through. Why play support? Whether I win or lose, I'll get lp based on my kills, cs, and lack of deaths. So why help this adc? Why throw my life away in order to save his? Why go ancient coin when going relic shield will improve my cs? Next note. After these adc changes apply, let's assume that adc's will become worthless like they were a few season's ago. Why play adc? Every one is trying to kill you, so why bother? It will only hurt the lp I get, so why risk it? To help shred their tanks?
: @Riot any info on Hail of Blades, the new domination rune coming out with Stormrazor?
Although I can't seem to find the exact post now, I believe it was stated that "After attacking a champion, gain 50-100% attack speed for your next 3 basic attacks. Must be 1.5 seconds between basic attacks or this effect ends. Can exceed the attack speed cap."

: We don't even know what HoB does yet. Harvest is intended to be used on Junglers that power farm for 20 minutes, like Kayn pre-buffs or Mister Yen. Especially Mister, since it resets when you kill champions and his potential for Pentakills is huge, which Harvest amplifies better than any other Keystone (Electrocute won't proc twice, Aery isn't intended for carries, and PtA wont help if youre destroying someone in a single Q or only one or two autos. Hell even Conqueror's effectiveness is lower than similar carries since Yi has True damage inherent to his kit.

: PBE Chat with the Playtest Team - 8.10
Although it doesn't seem to be planned for 8.10 (I believe the goal is 8.11), I'm quite confused on the interaction of the new Key Stone Hail Of Blades. Although I can't seem to find the exact post now, I believe it was stated that "After attacking a champion, gain 50-100% attack speed for your next 3 basic attacks. Must be 1.5 seconds between basic attacks or this effect ends. Can exceed the attack speed cap." Isn't this kinda the opposite of what you want? Like if there was a keystone that gives your 30 more ad for your next 3 attacks, but you must wait 1.5's after doing 100 damage, otherwise the effect ends, that's pretty counter-intuitive. Why give the player a stat, but then punish them if they're using this stat too well? EDIT: After going through a bunch of other Rioter comments, I've realized that I was reading this wrong. What the effect means is that after basic attacking, you have 1.5 seconds to basic attack again, otherwise you will lose the effect (the bonus attack speed). My bad.

: umm... you muted people do not prevent them from seeing everything you type. It's not a 2-way mute unless they mute you of their own will as well.
I very much believe differently on this, but I have no proof. Test it out for yourself to be sure
: > Galio's accompanied him with a full VGU, so I don't really count that one. While you may not count it, others do/did because his core identity changed unlike WW (cursed being, prisoner to bloodlust) or Eve (too sexy, gonna kill you). I love the new Galio and think it was wise to change his core because there was not much to be interested in, but others liked the somber sentential and don't get the same buzz with the boisterous, happy-go-luck one. > maybe the gripe of the community is when introducing multiple minds into one being I haven't followed the debate much either, but it seems like people were upset with the fact that Karma is now a pacifist. My guess is Rito did that to differentiate her from Irelia who also hates killing, but still does so to protect her people. > I apologize No worries; no offence taken. Sorry if it seems like I'm trying to undermine you. I not fan of playing the devil's advocate. I think you and I both agree that the lore team is doing great for the most part. I'm just letting you know what I've seen people complain about.
No need to apologize back, I take all comments with a grain of salt and try to understand them. Besides, my Canadian blood forces me to apologize. Just be glad there's no 4 way stops on the boards, we'd be here for hours.

How large is Ionia? Comparison to other countries in Runterra or countries in real life, either should help my mind conceive. Shh. Keep it under your hat for now, but landmass wise, Ionia is about half the area of Shurima. Which speaks a lot to how flippin massive Shurima is, really.
Hmmm... I've got a lot to reflect upon. One day I'll complete my Runterra map down to the millimeter, mark my words.
: I mean I feel like I did give it a good shot, this clearly isn't a rant. three days ago when I uninstalled I wanted to rant "fuck this game, fuck riot, fuck 0/10 bot lane" but I've taken some time to get away from the game and think about it, think about what the actual problems are. I hate to put it this way, but it's really like wealth inequality. No one pays attention to poor people because they're poor, clearly they're just lazy! And any time the lower class gets mad about anything people in better situations go "tisk tisk, you should behave yourself, you never know who's watching, today might be your big break and you missed it." How many thousands of games do I have to /mute all, not say anything, and be polite to the brand new player who can only play teemo top and goes 1/7 before I lose my damn mind or something changes? There's a very serious problem with the ranking system, and a very serious problem with League in general: it's rampant toxicity, which would be vastly reduced if the game rewarded good players with anything other than a useless grade that gives you a useless token for a mastery banner. I see where you're coming, but telling angry people "you should be less angry, then things will change" is useless rhetoric, because we've been calm, we've said there are problems, but no one will listen. Even this post which was stated as calmly as can be immediately has someone pointing out "now now, don't get angry, anger never solved anything." it's not your fault though, you've proven a very valuable case study here.
Awesome, I completely agree with you. Don't misunderstand, from the beginning I've agreed with how you feel, about how the system is not fair and things, honestly, should change, and how someones rank should make no difference in the value of their opinion. And you really do have a post that's well done, you've obviously thought about this topic for a while, weighed the pro's and cons, and come up with solutions. The game has an issue, where you can get stuck into what's called by the masses as "Elo Hell" and you my friend are in it. And you have a right to be angry about it. And your right, me sitting here telling you to "mind your manners and maybe you'll get dessert tonight" is kinda patronizing, but I'm saying these things because I genuinely understand what your saying, and honestly want you to get a meaningful response from a Rioter. I believe in the words you say, but I'm also seeing how they can fall on deaf ears, and so I'm doing the only thing I think can help: tell you how to say it more convincingly. I've not tried to be an annoying thorn in your side all this time, I've only stated how I honestly felt, as I'm doing so now, so take my words with a grain of salt, but even though I commented to you with criticism, I only responded because I cared about what was said.

I would assume there a large amount of confusion, or at least being a translator is a very lucrative job in such a culture. Well, Ionia is a continent - think of it a bit like Europe or maybe Pre-Colombian South America_ in terms of language diversity_. I imagine that most of the time, no-one would need a translator for their day to day life - but people moving around a lot, or people who need to deal with far-reaching issues, would need to either share a common language, or find a translator to help.
Europe I see, that makes a lot more sense. For some reason, I always thought of Ionia as a very small continent, like Britain in comparison to Russia, where Demacia or Noxus would be Russia, for example. All right, last question, I promise. How large is Ionia? Comparison to other countries in Runterra or countries in real life, either should help my mind conceive.
: I mean I'm not really writing a letter to the president here. This post (and many many like them) will go down into the depth never to be seen again. They won't change ranked, the fact of the matter is no one really cares about bronze and silvers regardless of the vast majority of players being in that field. Am I whining? Yea, a bit. Am I wrong? No. No one cares about us because we aren't good.
True, your just writing this out to the masses. And from your response, it seems as though you were just venting as something bothered you and you wanted to get it off your chest. But on the off chance that a Rioter clicks on this thread, and on the off chance they're inclined to respond, would you rather it be a well thought out argument, or just the ramblings of a tilted player? Don't get me wrong, I completely understand making a post just to help get past the tilt, but if you really are passionate about your statement, hell, even if it's only a 0.000001% it will gain any recognition at all, isn't it worth trying?

However, everyone who is unmuted will still see them > > Example > me: /mute player 1, 2, 3 > me: God I love biscuits > Player 4: Me too > Player 1 2 3: What are you talking about? Why are you saying "Me too" to no one? > > I suggest confirming it in a game to be sure though. Just ask something like "Should Irelia be Nerfed?" after muting everyone, then unmute them and see if anyone responds Makes sense. It's just that I'm constantly seeing people say "Muting all" then about five minutes later saying something followed by "I muted everyone already."
as soon as you type in /mute all you'll see in white text notes saying that that so-and-so has been muted. If someone really mutes everyone and is still seeing their msgs, they're either lying, or don't understand how to mute.
: To be clear, I'm not the OP and I agree that Varus' story is way more interesting. I never cared much about Varus' lore, but I can understand why some people would be bothered by the family aspect being taken away. Galio's lore changed quite a bit (which I was fine with because his old lore was so boring) which bothered some people. Karma's new story also caused a stir, but more because of what was added than what was taken/changed. Those are most controversial lore updates (on the boards at least) that I can think of.
Galio's accompanied him with a full VGU, so I don't really count that one. Otherwise, we could include Evelyn, WW, Poppy, etc to this list, but all those lore changes were necessary to fit their new kits and vision. Karma's a decent example too, although I haven't followed that one quite as closely and so I don't really have an opinion that I feel is meaningful enough to add regarding her changes. However, should be noted that Rengar's and Ahri's lore had been changed a while back and I didn't see any disdain over those ones, showing that Riot can alter lores and keep the player base around them happy. I do think that most of the frustration around the new lore of Varus was that he was two gay lovers melded into one body with a Darkin. As with the frustration entailing Karma's added lore, maybe the gripe of the community is when introducing multiple minds into one being? *I apologize, I had though you were OP and spoke on that assumption earlier, my bad D:*
