I don't think a new card game with not all the champions or regions should be considered as canon. Does that make sense to you? It's a card game, they can script anything in the game as long as they bought the copyright. If you bought the copyright, you can add things to your game too, and you can't say it's not canon. Hope that make sense to you.
Then I could say the comic books aren't canon because they don't feature all the champions. Riot MAKES LoR and Riot writers create all of the lore bits and voice lines. Everything we see in LoR is canon. The Fearsome General is General Du'Couteau, the Arena Bookie for the Reckonings is named Karl, and at some point Garen asked Katarina to meet him at the docks at night. It's not like Riot gave the rights for League characters to an outside company who is doing whatever they want with the characters. Riot is making the it themselves and is using the LoL lore to populate the game.

Many others like it though, for some of the reasons I was talking about. I don't have an exact number of those people, but I think there are always plenty of people defending the idea when threads like this pop up. Its an old school ship, of course it is going to have fans. > > I couldn't really say if it was a "showmance" or not, since we don't have any canon stories with both Garen and Kat. All we have is a years-long series of nods to this popular pairing. Just because we, the audience, are privy to it doesn't mean its not hidden. And Riot has always been really weird about timelines and character knowledge--a character making a snide remark about the two doesn't necessarily mean in-canon that they already know or that they even meet either of them. Its really dumb, but the most reliable canon there is are the written stuff. LoR and even in-game League quotes are supplementary. it's not that popular, there are many people dislike garen kat. Also LOR is not the lore. It's a lore based new storyline. I think riot wants to promote their new game and so they tell you it's the lore, but if you think about it, how can it be the lore when it does not have all the champions? They could say "more will be added in the future", but come on, how can it be the lore if it starts off only part of the champions and regions selectively? I mean, that's not a good excuse, if you know what I mean, for example, they could select a few champions from all the regions, instead of saying more regions will be added in LOR **as the regions already exsist in LOL**. That's what showmance means - two people playing lovers but they are not real lovers. See, Rioters claim that they are secretly in a relationship, or that's what they try to hint at to the aundiences, but how can it be a hidden romantic relationship if it's already known by people? If everyone knows they are hidding their relationship, then it's not a hidden relationship, it's a showmance instead, meaning they are trying to play as secret lovers for the audience. Hope that makes sense.

They're closer to Shintoism and Buddhism, in that the religion is more of a living philosophy on how to be in harmony with the world than it is about having deities. There is ancestor veneration here, and a reverence for the Karma that houses the spirits of the past Karmas, but it's not really worship in the way that western religions consider worship. > **Anivia:** > Freljord > Worships Anivia > Believes in hope, life, and change > {{champion:34}} {{champion:22}} {{champion:20}} I got the impression that Anivia isn't so much worshipped as she is more of a tall-tale kind of being. The Frostguard, and most of the Freljord, venerate and worship the 3 Sisters - Averosa, Lissandra, and Serlynda and worship True Ice to a smaller degree. They do not worship the Watchers anymore, as records of them have been wiped from most histories, except for a select few in the inner circles of Lissandra's cult. Even then, they do not worship the Watchers, they treat them as beings that will herald the end of the world and work to ensure their prisons are intact and report findings to Lissandra. > > **Wolf:** > Noxus > Worships conquest and Death > {{champion:203}} {{champion:122}} {{champion:14}} I don't think we've gotten any information about religions in Noxus either. Their society is based on power and strength, but they do not worship conquest and death. > > **Janna:** > Zaun > Worships Janna > Protects and guides sailors > {{champion:40}} All of Zaun does not worship Janna, just small pockets. Even then, she's mostly invoked as a superstition, and not really a deity in organized religion. > > **Godwillow:** > Worships nature > {{champion:427}} {{champion:498}} {{champion:497}} Like Karma above, the Godwillow wasn't a central deity in organized religion. It was a mystical, sacred site that was venerated because of the harmony and magic it had with the land, but it wasn't worshipped. You don't know what I think the "problem" is if you think that it's not a fix. Let me lay out what I am saying in bullet points, so you can follow: • There are players hardstuck in mid to low Bronze • These players have been Bronze for years • Riot is creating a new tier below Bronze • Under the new system mid to low Bronze with likely be shifted into Iron • **[Key Point of my whole argument]** Players who have been the same tier for years are now hardstuck in a tier LOWER than the tier they used to be. • This will affect their morale • I propose making the new tier above Bronze • People hardstuck low Bronze are still Bronze. They are unaffected by this change. • People in high Bronze have now progressed into a new tier. They feel good since they have feedback about getting better.

: ??? I'm not sure how that would mean League's lore sucks. It's some pretty neat stuff, IMO, and honestly the only reason I've stuck with the game as long as I have. Anyway, [Wukong's bio](https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/story/champion/monkeyking/) as well as [Rengar's](https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/story/champion/rengar/) both confirm they are not from Kumungu.
I mean in the sense that looking at them I can't tell that they come from those regions and that they have zero in common with those regions. I knew Kha'zix was "from" the Void but I thought that he made his home the jungle due to growing and evolving so much there. I didn't know they nuked Wukong's lore but even then I was wrong because he was from the Plague Jungles before. Rengar being Shuriman Vastayan is just lame IMO. Just delete the Kumungu Jungle if you're not even going to use it when it makes sense.

: Anyone else miss Nexus Blitz?
Not really. It wasn't as satisfying to win for me. The Nexii running it down mid was funny but the should find a more rewarding way to close out games that go on too long.
: I kinda like it but I wouldn't want these additional quests to have such gameplay changing effect because the game itself is already a mess in balance this would only complicate things. If the game wasn't in such state, I would be incredible down for more things like this.
They should make a quest have a cosmetic effect. For example maybe for the current Jinx one, when you kill Caitlyn, Jinx wears her hat for the rest of the match.
: Suggestion: Swap 'Iron' and 'Bronze'
: What I Want From a Potential Kumungu Update
Aren't Rengar, Kha'zix, Nidalee and Wukong from Kumungu?
: > Think about being Bronze for two seasons and suddenly you've DROPPED to the lowest rank? Honestly speaking, that's like one of the most impossible thing to do. I've seen Bronze players in their games, they're honestly not as smart or cunning as typical high elos. If you think you're worth higher tiers like Plat, you SHOULD be able to carry out yourself.
I have heard that many people hardstuck bronze are developmentally challenged or have mental issues like schizophrenia and things like that which prevent them from climbing. A change like this is akin to punishing them for playing in my opinion. It seems though that many other players are okay with this.
: If anything they are making it so newer people can start to learn the game more at their pace AND climb at the same time. I was BV when I started and my friend was B2. There was such a skill difference between us it wasn’t funny. So trying to get higher was a real struggle because of the roll of the dice skill differences there were between those tiers. But now with iron people will have the opportunity to actually play at their level more of the time than they can now.
I'm not arguing against adding new tiers, just putting any new ones below Bronze. You can get the exact same effect of climbing if you put a new one in between Bronze and Silver.
: When does Riot ever care about "psychological dmg"? They left the bickering for roles during Blind Picks champ select (when they could've easily fix it) and things like that.. failure to bring down toxicity... lol the day they actually care about the mental state of players...
I agree. I'm hoping that they give this more thought though. I have heard that many people hardstuck bronze are developmentally challenged and a change like this is akin to punishing them for playing. It seems though that many other players are okay with this.
Ætheist (NA)
: What do you suggest they do, then? There are way too many players sitting in Bronze and Silver as it is. They have to be broken up somehow. Iron IV <-> Bronze V Iron III <-> Bronze IV Iron II <-> Bronze III Iron I <-> Bronze II Bronze IV <-> Bronze I Bronze III <-> Silver V Bronze II <-> Silver IV Bronze I <-> Silver III You're not getting "demoted" to Iron. You're getting put exactly where your skill level should be on the new table. It's only a demotion if you're looking solely at names and not the tiers of play they're representing.
You're being too literal. If I was Bronze last season and now this season and now I'm in a new tier lower than what I was before that's a demotion. People aren't going to be super rational in understanding that they're actually in the same place in a mathematical sense. My solution would be to make a Super Bronze tier in between Bronze and Silver.
: What's the difference between "I'm hard stuck in the lowest 3 tiers, which are called Bronze 5, 4, 3" and "I'm hard stuck in the lowest 3 tiers, which are called Iron 4, 3, 2"? If anything, Iron doesn't have a stigma around it yet, and it helps clear Bronze a bit making it more respectable. Add to that when coming from a 5 tier system by default we're thinking "ok, 3 is halfway out", which makes everyone but Iron 4 more optimistic. I really don't think adding a new bottom tier is the change that's going to drive more people away from the game.
Iron will immediately have the stigma of being the tier lower than bronze which people already have negative thoughts about.
: Riot, Please Re-evaluate The Tier Names For Next Season
They should NEVER release a tier below Bronze. Start with Bronze and call the new one Super Bronze or something. It's got a little bit of meme in its naming so we get some good natured jokes and people in Bronze don't have to get DEMOTED to show them how bad they are.
Ætheist (NA)
: It's not any sort of demotion, though. Iron IV will be the same thing as Bronze V is now. Problem is you can't insert anything between Bronze/Silver/Gold because they're a logical progression, and Bronze/Silver are what need to be broken up because that's where like 90% of ranked players are. That just leaves making a non-shiny tier below Bronze. Besides, climbing to Bronze kinda makes sense. Bronze is still a medal that's awarded for being better than other people.
It's literally a demotion though. I have an issue with this change for morale and psychological reasons. Sure for naming purposes leaving those 3 intact makes logical sense. I just think that many people who have been hardstuck Bronze 3 or below who will now be hardstuck in a brand new lower tier will make them feel some type of way. I'm trying to prevent Riot from hemorrhaging more players with this decision like they have been doing for the past year and a half.

: Choice was to put Ezreal closer to the beginning of his arc -- where overconfidence and bravado are crutches to cover his wound. Most people don't have any idea what their wound is, but their behaviors and actions tend to be how they overcompensate. We want to give Ezreal room to grow and tapped what was already present in the character/VO as it is. He has a very antagonistic relationship with his uncle. Destroying priceless artifacts (intentionally or collaterally) is a convention of the high adventure genre that is fun to play with. Ezreal will *always* do the right thing, even if it's for the wrong reasons. He's reckless, overconfident, and wants to be seen as a flashy hero... because he knows deep down he's gifted and not pushing himself in the real way... he's not doing the work and is skating by on his talent and dependence on his gauntlet. I LOVED writing Ezreal. He's the flawed hero who's got a lot to learn in order to actually be a true hero.

It is physically impossible for a person's waist to have a smaller diameter than just one of their thighs without extreme deformity from corset training or malnutrition. Because these bodies are so unattainable without seriously deforming ourselves, it's incredibly harmful to portray these bodies as natural let alone desirable. Even some of the most beautiful sex icons in the world with hourglass figures don't come close to waists as small as a leg (even when photoshopped to have slimmer, fitter figures than they actually do). http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/12/18/article-2526105-1A2FFC4300000578-136_634x930.jpg http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2014/01/28/article-2547220-1A3011B800000578-513_308x658.jpg https://www.skinnyvscurvy.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/scarlett-johanssons-body-is-so-cover-worthy.jpg These women spend a large part of their life and career dedicated to keeping the figures they have. They are considered by many to be the absolute ideal female figures. Even their photoshopped bodies are more realistic than those of many females in League. ___ There is a woman who has such a tiny waist you'd actually be able to compare it to the impossible waist size of many league ladies. She is 81 and has been wearing a corset 24/7 since she was 47. She only takes it off to shower and has admitted that she isn't able to do a lot of normal activities and can't drive because her body isn't up for it. She now *has* to keep the corset on because she needs the support after being out of it for more than a couple hours. This is what she has to do to her body to achieve such a waistline. https://cdn.acidcow.com/content/img/new01/406/03.jpg https://78.media.tumblr.com/ea098abcf42ee70eae9538c87cbb5cd0/tumblr_mrhee2KAfw1rbrhnko1_500.gif No one is suggesting to make women characters out of shape or force them to wear burkas. The entire point of League is that these people are the strongest, most epic, super-hero status warriors of their time. Of course these people are going to be **fit**. But it is damaging to make their proportions so impossible and it isn't unreasonable to want warriors to actually dress and pose like the powerful people they are instead of like pinups.
1) You don't seem know what foreshortening is. An objects width and size are distorted depending on the angle of the viewer. I only bring this up because this is at play in the Sivir and Fiora Shots. 2) You posted 2 pictures from women in their lives after childbirth. One of which has had extensive work done to enhance their figure to NOT be skinny. And the last woman actually had a breast REDUCTION. So your narrative about unobtainable bodies is shaky at best here. I agree that League overdoes it sometimes but you're missing my main point which is: In the public eye, the physical ideals of men and women have specific archetypes and in fiction those archetypes are exaggerated because the characters are larger than life. So with women you're going to get smaller waists, bigger breasts/hips, etc. and with men you'll get bigger biceps, shoulders, height, chiseled jaws, etc. Let's not even go over the statistic that most people in the world aren't handsome or pretty but 99% of champions are. It's almost as if champions don't represent the average person, but the best. {{sticker:slayer-pantheon-thumbs}}

: The only one of these splashes that even remotely panders to women is the last one with the pretty hair and dark features. The other two are much more wish fulfillment for men. None of these poses contorts the male body in such a way to exaggerate his chest or ass. They are all power poses designed to make them look powerful or macho, not as sexual objects.
Displaying power and machismo is sexual. Most men do it to get female attention (and it often works). What makes each sex attractive to each other isn't the same. Men are more visual and women are more cerebral (in the sense that personality traits and situations and what excite them more). If each male champ in the game had bad posture and mumbled all his lines, and all female champs wore burkas and had nasally voices this game would have flopped lol. I kinda want to try that just to test my theory. The novelty might carry it though.
: Thanks for this comment. It raises a valid point! But, I'd like to clarify the major difference. (And apologize because I wasn't expecting this to be as long as it is. But it is important to share with those who will listen) The physical appearance of the majority of men in League absolutely creates unrealistic expectations for men... which is not good. However, the expectation isn't set as, "this is how you need to look to be sexually attractive to women." Instead it is presented as, "this is what you need to be manly." "this is how other men will respect you." Because it's what men aspire to for themselves. Men want to feel especially macho. It's not what women expect or necessarily even want... not that it matters much to the male gaze either way. The expectation set for women is different because it's determined via the male gaze. The perspective is from someone who is sexualizing the female body for their own enjoyment. It's not set by women because it's what women aspire to or what makes them powerful or respected by other women. It's what women are told they should look like to please men. Obviously neither of these situations are ones we should allow and as a culture we are taking baby steps away from these toxic expectations. But we have to understand that they are different and why they are different. While both male and female features are exaggerated in League, an alarming percentage of female bodies and their poses are made in such an unrealistic way so that men can see their asses, their tits, their physically impossible hourglass figures... because these things sexually excite men. Women's waists are often thinner than their thighs in splash art... something especially critical because women have historically struggled with this body "ideal" and have injured themselves with corsets and starvation trying to accomplish it. Women are also often in "action poses" that aren't physically possible to do, where they are bent or twisted and contorted specifically to accentuate their tits and ass, and that leave them looking *supple* and *vulnerable* for men. Many of these poses would leave the women in them in very dangerous situations on the battlefield even if they were physically possible. The sexualization of females is never done to empower females. https://i2.wp.com/ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/img/champion/splash/Nidalee_6.jpg https://gentlemangustaf.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/fiora.png https://nexus.leagueoflegends.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Scaled-Down-Zyra-Splash.jpg https://gentlemangustaf.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/feed-warwick.png ######(even strong, formidable characters are posed sticking their asses out and their tits forward even though it makes no sense for them to stand in such a fashion if it were even possible) Male figures might be extra chiseled and have larger muscles but they are always in power poses. I can't think of a single male splash art (not that there aren't a couple, I'm sure) that contorts a man's body specifically to show off his chest or ass in a way that is impossible for the body to actually do, or that would leave him vulnerable or even that uncomfortable. They are bigger, stronger, deadlier looking. Even the most sexualized male character in the game, Taric, gets power poses. The wishful idealization of male characters is done to empower males. https://cdn.inquisitr.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/league-of-legends-taric.jpg http://lolwp.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Heartseeker-Varus.jpg The closes thing I can think of as a "we did this specifically to please women" is the heartseaker set of skins for Varus and Lucian. Even with those, Varus looks suave and bares skin, but not in the same manner that most women do -- if you look closely you can juuuuust make out the shape of an ass cheek), and he still gets a strong power pose. ___ It is especially important to recognize that this problem exists in something as seemingly trivial as a video game like League of Legends because, even though they aren't as vocal a part of the gaming community [women make up half of the gaming world](https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2014/08/22/adult-women-gamers-outnumber-teenage-boys/?utm_term=.2560a2be798b). I, myself, am a 29 year old woman and most of the people I play games with are women. It makes one wonder why, when women are such a large portion of the community, they continue to be marginalize by the leaders of the industry.
1) Men and women have different bodies. 2) All the women you put red circles on are just in shape. Those bodies aren't unrealistic, it's just ideal. Champions are basically superheroes and superheroes reflect the ideals of the culture they're produced in. The ideal male body is tall, (not many short men in League), and fit (Gragas? Who else breaks this? Use to be Urgot but they jacked him up). The ideal female body seems to be slim and petite (I'm arguing against my own tastes here because I'd like way more Illaoi's to be in this game). Even when women design and create characters, they don't make them out of shape or flabby to create realism. They usually just put more practical clothes on them. Also, when a character is made outside of the norm , there usually is some narrative or design reason behind it.

Thank you for putting this matter to rest. > > This is perhaps something for another thread, but I have so many questions regarding Kai'Sa that I feel haven't yet been answered by her story: how come her body from the chest up is relatively conventional when the most common sign of Void corruption is a gruesome third eye? What unique qualities did little Kaisa have that allowed her to survive in a place where so many others have succumbed? How did she survive this ordeal alone without any apparent psychological dysfunction? Was there a character/personality concept for her where she was radically different from what she is now, and if so, what caused it to change? Those are all great questions. There will be a AMA later this week (Thursday) where the whole team can weigh in. As for her character/personality concept, we knew from the very beginning that we wanted a survivor, someone who never quit. But, in reality, even the most determined person can get vaporized in an instant if they didn't possess the skills to survive, or even if they do and just step in the wrong spot. She was raised in the deserts of Shurima and similar to indigenous tribes and cultures had a baseline set of survival skills that she learned. She used those to live day-by-day. But what separates Champions from the rest is the existence of the extraordinary. Like Newt in Aliens, Kai'Sa was able to survive in her new environment, but unlike Newt, she had a weapon and armor. As far as her PTSD, we wanted to show her now, not as she was three years in the Void, with no hope, abandonment issues, anger and loss of faith. She has a line in her VO, "Let go of the anger. It does not serve." In order to survive-- to get back, she only carried the things that would help her. She had worked out those issues during that time. It's important that she is who she is in game-- a hardened survivor and a hopeful ally in the fight against the Void. She should be messed up, angry, resentful and mercurial, but she's worked that out and she is an example of what can be. One of the cornerstones for me was reading about a certain survivor of a horrific trauma and her telling about how she deals with the memory and guilt and the nightmares. She said that it happened, but she wouldn't let it take any thing else from her. Not one more thing. She decided that was it. It sounded heroic and unimaginable for me to comprehend and that stuck with me. That is who Kai'Sa is. She is a Champion, although she wasn't always one, she became one.

You're giving us a champion at their most boring point. Where does her story go from here? Having no meaningful reactions with any other champion, especially her father, is insane lol. I would expect her to freak out after finding out her father was alive. Maybe being around him is the only time she would show real emotion. Or maybe like Sion's evolving VO, she's quiet and reserved while battling normal champions but gets disturbingly angry and violent when battling void champions, baron and rift herald. The mood dichotomy would be awesome. It's sad that you guys are done with the champ since all this feedback will fall into the void lol. I honestly find her really boring from a player experience perspective. Don't get me wrongI think her kit is awesome and she's bad ass visually. She's just lacking compared to champs like Jhin and Kled who really get you into the head and feel of living their fantasy. Edit: Oh man, and her symbiotic suit doesn't TALK? Talk about missed opportunity. Would have been a way to show both her and the suit rubbing off on each other.

: Runes, Expectation, and the FUTUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURE!
Does [Revitalize] only work on allies or is self healing and shielding also affected?
: Nobody cares about your hatred for white people, buddy -.- Find something worth complaining about.
: Went from a nasty blue to a pale gray, I like it. She can't be whitewashed when she was already of a peachy skin-tone in her "human skin".
Her skin tone in Shadow Evelynn was also racially ambiguous. See for yourself. http://www.leagueoflegendsskins.com/images/champions/splash/Evelynn_1.jpg Nothing peach about it.
: Why is Eve "More Human" in All of Her Updated Skins?
: Technically she is a shadowy creature and the pale thing we see is just an illusion she projects to entice prey. So... she wasn't changed from blue to white. She was changed from blue to shadow, since blue was supposed to be the skin tone of her natural form when not in stealth.
I can almost guarantee her bait form will never manifest as anything but an 18 year old white girl. To be fair though, that probably the best bait.
: She was fucking BLUE! Jesus fucking christ, not everything is about your petty race politics. For fuck's sake.

Her being blue before is the point. Now each of her skins washes her skin a pale peach pigment instead of leaving it blue like it was before.
