How about fixing the Jayce animation bug where his weapon doesn't properly contract after expending the first basic attack in either form? You can see in on the live server his hammer has a weird gap permanently. You fixed the cannon not animating when Battle academia jayce was released so there's no doubt you can finish the job. Do you think the aatrox nerfs will end up funneling him towards jungle? I tend to dislike heavy handed nerfs like waveclear that seem to force a champ out of solo lanes as the natural consequence is that they end up being supports or junglers ({{champion:3}} ,{{champion:517}} ) where a lot of their intended laning weaknesses disappear entirely. What compounds these changes is that the live balance team seems to let these role changes settle for months on end before deciding that they want to change it up again, leading to the need to overbuff champs like galio just to get people to try him out mid again.

Do you think Yuumi needs something about her core concept fundamentally changed? Even with the latest nerfs she is still pick/ban in pro. Have you entertained the idea of her taking a % of the damage her partner takes, in return for reverting some of her other nerfs? RiotScruffy just posted on twitter that they're looking to buff mid Galio. Any thoughts on how that strategy will pan out so that it doesn't lead to a repeat of the last two times that was attempted? I'm hopeful you will be able to get ranged champs in top to a better spot, but could i suggest some tooltip cleanup with Jayce in particular? His abilities having six ranks leads to lots of ugly decimals in his ranged W and melee E, if you're looking to let him scale more those might be a place to start.

He like Sylas also got hit pretty hard and looking at his performance in pro play he doesn't even dominate lane anymore (especially since Aatrox filled in the void in between msi and current live patch) while falling off even harder than he did before. Also is there any work being done for Mid Galio? I don't think the W changes really helped him at all (the E base damage nerf made his early game even worse since he maxes it last), its pretty apparent now that he needs some power back in his Q.

Could you then give an update on the updated tooltip format (shortened tooltips with the addition of ratios already done etc.) that was also seen in the internal build? Also, any update on Jayce? Atm he's still being picked here and there in pro but dropped to practically last in solo q winrates. Is he doomed to become another Akali?

Jhin's is animated, so its just that they are prioritizing animating cosmetic content (legendary skins or big skinline releases) over other kinds of content if there's a stacked release. Remains to be seen if Qiyana has one since i doubt there's another legendary skin being released next patch.

So there are some retcons, namely morde has no longer has direct links to shadow isles and his current-lore state is him being stuck in the afterworld biding his time rather than in the material world. One notable addition is morde allowing himself to be betrayed by leblanc so that he could make use of the souls he accumulated in his afterworld.

: This is likely an unpopular opinion with some, but my personal take is that Jayce has never had a healthy pattern. When he's been successful it's been in ways that leave his opponents with few ways to interact well enough with him in lane or later. Not expecting this current nerf will do anything other than band aid things a little. Wouldn't want to sink a lot of time into Jayce either though until other champs in significantly greater need of work get help first. Sylas wise we believe wave clear to be a good angle to hit. Tends to be particularly valuable in pro versus other contexts. Means potentially pulling power out of that and then seeing if we can put it elsewhere (though that bit's likely to happen in a follow up patch if so).
Thanks for the response, I agree with the sentiment though i can't deny that i am biased in favor of Jayce. Maybe that scrapped mini-rework Xypherous did in conjunction with the conversion of his skills to six ranks a while back could be a starting point?

Thoughts on the nerfs for jayce that is entirely due to his pro presence? It seems this is the first time he is being nerfed without an accompanying high priority in solo queue. It also doesn't seem to address pro players' tendency to pick ranged champs who can be flexed into mid. Also, any thoughts on how you would reduce the strength of sylas in pro? I think hitting his ability to hold ults for extended periods of time as well as the lv 16 " 2 ults " powerspike could do the trick without significant impact to his solo q performance.

When you say W casts in direction of cursor, does the clone face your cursor direction or the last direction before the cast? The former would be a dead giveaway of usage of W. I do think Q's name should use the name of the weapon itself, whatever name you decide to give it, since it's pretty iconic to Wukong's mythology.

Will galio see some work? I get the feeling you guys are somehow okay with him being high priority in support but not in mid, where he was designed to play in, given the silence after acknowledging the most recent nerfs were overboard. Can we see some adjustment for mid galio while bringing down support galio especially since aftershock changes will negatively impact him? I'm curious to see how zac's ult will function considering one of the initial rationale for changing it was that it was functionally too similar to wukong's cyclone, who himself is getting some work, though i doubt wukong's ult will be significantly altered.

Yea i could see that working out, but the item would still have to compete with stasis or spellshield, both of which are the apex of defensive effects, which is why i think there have been no changes in that space.

Outside of the traditional assumption that armor and mr stats are the bread and butter of tanks, not dps classes, including more options means that you have to account for the possibility of stacking those options, which means that each individual item is likely to have its armor/mr amounts lowered, or penetration items will get their values readjusted for the amount of armor/mr that is typically available to a "squishy" class on average.

I thought the numbers were tuned to discourage building tanky mana items on him given he already has access to a shield on his kit, with seraph's shield that may as well be part of his kit (and the occasional aftershock keystone). Is there a world where mana ratios on ryze are totally removed and rebalanced around only ap ratios, given that he doesn't give up a lot of damage for getting items like righteous glory?

: We believe Wit's End is much closer to being a stable, useful item. Ohmwrecker by contrast arguably fills a niche that doesn't need to be filled and wouldn't be good for the game if it were strong. We'd have removed the item if the name wasn't a refer a friend promise, possible we instead move the name somewhere else to both better deliver on that and let us take out an unsuccessful item design.
Maybe replace the name of the demolish rune with that?

After his Q got nerfed he just went from being pick/ban in mid to pick/ban in support for pro play, and given the recent ask riot where repertoir highlighted how some champions were specifically balanced only around the intended role, is there any work being done to address Galio in mid while also toning down the strength of Galio as support?

Any thoughts on a third set of number rebalancing for {{champion:3}} so that he doesn't languish as a support after the overnerf on q? I think a partial revert on the Q nerfs plus lowering the base damage resistance on W while increasing its scaling with ap would be a good way to nerf galio support which has also become pick/ban in pro, while bringing up his mid performance. Whatever you decide on i hope gets more iteration, since the numbers always seem to be overshot when it comes to him, and i wish galio doesn't suffer the fate of "mid permanently nerfed into support".

So was Udyr already intended at the time of writing as someone who can channel way more than four animal spirits? It seems to me to be a soft retcon that allows you to change his abilities to reflect freljordian gods for a potential vgu, which i recall was a pretty recent discussion.
: This is nonsense, there are upsides and down sides to each sister, I will remind you that even in their original lore this is how it was presented, rather then with Kayle being good and Morgana evil. Not to mention that good and evil can be very relative, Morgana and Kayle if anything are more an argument of Punitive Justice versus Rehabilitative justice, a controversial subject with plenty of supporters of each. To me Kayle is still all of the ideals I would like, but I know people dont agree with me universally on real world justice either. The Jayce/Viktor approach of telling the story differently in each of their bios was also perfect.
Sadly people will close one eye on the original lore if it means they have more ammo to propel their narrative.

It's depressing that people on the boards, in their haste to rev up the "riot hates good people and loves evil" narrative, have seemingly forgotten that the original lore already paints kayle's side as tyrants and morgana's side as fighting for freedom (even with the qualifier that she did black magic).

No offense, I thought the Odyssey skins didn't go through the pbe because they were meant as a surprise. While I think that approach is okay it may mean that certain issues don't get addressed before the skin hits live.

Eh , hard to claim this as not being immersive enough considering you cite a real world example (not making any claim on your immersion) of people being convicted and executed because of witchcraft which _they can't even perform_, and genocide based on ingrained stereotypes has occurred quite a few times throughout human history and even to the present. So happens people in Runeterra can actually perform magic, although the people in this story seemed to use it without malice. It seems people are trying too hard to disavow the possibility of fantastical elements heavily warping societal norms.

: I'm most curious about the philosophy behind those changes. Crit items were changed so they would be better against tanks and less volatile against squishies. With the consideration of reverting IE, has the crit item changes not panned out as Riot had hoped? What problems does reverting IE solve? Crit items were also changed because they were too strong in combination late game. Ad carries were considered mandatory because of the sheer power they brought later in the game. As a result, crit items were made more expensive so the power levels remained the same, but came online much later. The IE changes in direction two would make late game carries much stronger. Does Riot think mandatory ad carries are a problem, and if so, how would this IE change help or hinder the issue? Have you considered lowering the maximum possible power level of ad carries and putting that power somewhere else?
One can only hope that inclusion of "fair and balanced" on IE means they never intend to revert it to 250%, else we're back to square one. Personally i think caitlyn needs a rework of her passive, she's probably the biggest reason they changed it in the first place.

Also now that his ult doesn't absolutely prevent allies from dying could it have it's early cd reduced slightly? Crucially if the changes with galio are successful do you see a similar approach being taken with shen as regards to his ult?
