: I honestly think the %damage reduction shouldn't be a thing at all. We already have a way to reduce the damage by % and that's armor and magic resist - we don't really need another stat that does both of those at once. That said - ADC and other squishies need a way to itemize against burst - and they actually kinda do already: - Maw of Malmortius (shield + defensive stats against magic damage burst) - Death's Dance (delayed damage + lifesteal against anything) I feel like if Death's Dance was an anti-physical damage burst item, that'd be a better direction. So, for example: AD +55 Armor +45 CDR +10% UNIQUE Passive: Instantly heal for 12% of all physical damage dealt. Area of effect physical damage only heals 4% for every unit affected. UNIQUE Passive - Lifeline: Stores 30% of all physical damage received, and is taken as damage over time true damage instead, dealing one-third of the stored damage every second. If the stored damage would reduce the target health to 0, grants LIFEGRIP. UNIQUE Passive - Lifegrip: Increases Attack Damage by 40 and doubles the healing effect of health drain (Lifesteal, Spellvamp, Omnivamp and DD passive) for 3 seconds (30s cooldown).

: First of all, the damage is barely the thing that makes him stupid. His ult roots the victim just to be sure he or she doesn't flash out. He has 2 gapclosers that can also be use for escape. He is also the only energy bar champion who never seems to be out of energy. He can reveals all stealths champions with the single press of a fucking button. He also has 6 base abilities, do you know who also has 6 base abilities? These champions: {{champion:150}}, {{champion:76}}, {{champion:60}}, {{champion:126}}. What make these champions ''balance'' in some way, it's because their sacrifice an ultimate for an additional form and abilities (aside from Gnar who has an ultimate but he does not transform at will unlike the others). But Lee? No requirement aside that the other 3 abilities can only be used after he used the first 3 spells which is super easy to do considiring his kit. Also, Lee is a special fucking case because unlike other MOBA, Riot has decided that the decision of which champion is viable in a position or not, for instance the jungle, would be decided by who can hold their grounds against Lee. If this is not the dumbest decision ever decided, I don't know what this is.
Ok, I don't like Lee either, but this six ability argument makes no sense. Like imagine if they removed a half of one of the abilities like his q, so that he just shoots a little thing at you that does very little damage and that's it?

The fix is clear, reduce the base shield and increase the %HP shield scaling so it's more attractive for people building mostly defensive items, voila.
That's kind of the point of keystones though. If these champs build CoTC, they are not doing as much damage as they would if they are getting something else. They have another option for how to play the champ, which is the intended purpose of the new masteries. I remember a rioter saying that riven going CoTC was not a bad thing since she is giving up either sustained damage with fervor or burst with thunderlords.

: I can see your point but other than {{champion:92}} i dont really see whats really wrong with it. {{champion:92}} should be using fervor especially now that it gives AD instead of just increased on hit damage. {{champion:122}} same with darius, especially since his passive benefits from it, and its easy to stack while comboing. But a bunch of the champs you listed run deep into the resolve tree so that they can be tanky enough to do their job, and most build a ton of bonus health. {{champion:120}} builds Triforce into full tank {{champion:254}} builds warrior into full tank (maybe triforce) {{champion:58}} black cleaver into full tank {{champion:122}} black cleaver into full tank Champs like {{champion:36}} {{champion:86}} {{champion:420}} {{champion:75}} {{champion:83}} would love to be able to run CotC as it fits their build and play patterns, but cannot because they lack hard CC.
Yorick W actually counts as hard cc if he gets someone inside of it.

Who even uses that anymore? Just a few juggernauts and that's about it since any other tank that can use it has hard cc so CoTC is just better.

The point was, or at least should have been, to make it so that the assassin actually has to do all that stuff at the beginning and you don't have stuff like old rengar where he just walked past your team and then killed the adc before anyone could react.
