: Well, I say it is growing, you say it it shrinking and neither of us provided any sources. Tears.
Some dude at a game conference (dont remember the source) said the number of active players a while back and it was less than Riot's last released numbers Also, the last time Riot DID release the numbers was 2013 or 2014. Why not update the number of players if it's still growing?
: Riot, I love that you are updating all the champion splash art, but...
Damn, I thought I was the only one who was sure Warwick was Rengar

: I very much approve of this. I'm sure something like what I'm about to say has been said, but it still holds true. Given that Riot has made bad choices for a good while, if they publically admitted their mistakes I have a feeling the community would be okay with it. What they should do is look at how Season 6 has been so horrible. Instead of constantly releasing new content, they should skip patch/rework in order to focus on just fixing everything that's broken. Doesn't everyone agree that Season 4 was pretty good? Possibly the most balanced? I know that's when I had the most fun. They should revert the game to Season 4 status, keep the changes that balanced those broken champs and it should be fun again. Right? I don't know. Just rambling now.
Season 4 was for the most part pretty great, I definitely miss it And you make a good point, I don't think_ anyone_ would have a problem if riot held off on releases and used the majority of their resources to simply drop some massive balance patches. I would love it
shyv (NA)
: i didn't have any problems with riot until this season in fact i LOVED riot. all the work they did was awesome, and they still do some awesome stuff, but at this point i'm more frustrated with the game than anything and i can't enjoy it even with the positive parts of league. but i mean, you have to give riot some credit. * they made the game much easier for new players, reducing the cost of runes to ONE ip, and cutting the amount of xp required to hit lv 30 in half. * they put out fun game modes all the time * they used to only give out free rewards on good behavior once a year, now with hextech crafting, as long as you're not an asshole you can get free skins, champs, icons, ward skins, etc. really regularly. sure, the lack of keys might be a cash grab, but i can guarantee everyone has gotten at least one skin completely free * the art teams never EVER disappoint, only exception was the new SKT skins, and they said they were going to release them later in the year so they have time to put out a better final product. they made a mistake, and they went back to fix it. the rest of the skins, music, login screen animations, champ designs..... i have absolutely no complaints, they're all amazing. * the client is a LOT more stable than it was when i first started playing. bugsplats used to be pretty common. * the visual update for SR is amazing these are just some things off the top of my head. riot does great work. i genuinely enjoyed this game before this season, but there have been too many changes, and i don't see the point in playing ranked anymore. i know it sounds like minor things, but dynamic queue has completely demotivated me in every way. it's sad really, i want to enjoy this game again. riot please give us solo players something to work with.
Dengeden (EUW)
: Just because someone doesn't like the taste of their medicine doesn't mean you should stop giving it to them. DynamicQ more or less solved the "... or feed" issue (no freaking duh it extended queue times). It also lets them balance the game around teamplay instead of needing to take into account that people might run around like headless chickens. *Which is all that premades do to the game, they give people more coordination.*
premades give offer more coordination to themselves. Also, the "or feed" is alive and well. So many players literally can only handle one position. If they get their secondary, they'll ask to switch and whine and complain. I've seen it a stupid number of times
: "They wont make money if their fuckups literally turn their playerbase away" This is true but not if you think the easily replacable, minority group of players that want Solo Queue back equals "their player base". It blows my mind that people think that if you stopped playing LoL because of Dynamic Queue that it would impact Riot. You could leave and every other player that shared your opinion could leave and LoL would move on without a hitch. And this certainly includes the popular streamers and pro players. They would all be replaced overnight. There are so many people waiting for their chance to be at the top. The game isn't getting less popular. It is growing and as time passes fewer and fewer players will know or care that there was something called Solo Queue.

It isn't just us forum folks who are unhappy...
Dextix LT (EUNE)
: No, dynamic queue, is not a bad thing, as a normal mode, not ranked mode. In ranked we had the solo/duo experience and 5 player teams ranked. The solo/duo was based on your skill while team was based on your overall team skill and communication. However, if you match up SOLO players with TEAM players, you will have a problem. These two different kinds of players cannot mix, one of them has the advantage. You throw away any need for solo skill but rather, the need to have a stronger friend. I would give zero fcks if they had dynamic. IF they did not remove solo. If more options should havev been provided, why were they reduced to some parts of the community?
: Let me tell you what exactly changed in ranked: Nothing. People make a giant out of a mouse there. It's not even halfway as bad as people make it sound like. There is no difference between getting matched with a 4 man premade or 2 duos. And generally speaking premades aren't worse/better than the league they are in. Or flame more/less. Most of what the common boards users complain about is just negativity bias. They don't remember when they had friendly premades and only remember the toxic ones.
There's a pretty big difference I mean, 4 people working together is 80% of a team. Not hard for the 5th to drag along When you find yourself scrambling to get your random teammates to focus on objectives while the other team has begun outrotating you and coordinating objectives like dragons and early turrets, it's very easy to get quite behind quite fast At my elo, teams lose hope fast. Early leads often win games so to be honest, most games against 4 man premades are just a fucking stomp. And the reverse when I happen to be with one. Not healthy
: That's the problem with games and their communities. The community thinks they are in control when they are not..... especially when it comes to a free game. You can cry about the changes all you want but the game states before you play you must agree to the TOS before you play. In this agreement it states they are free to change their game any way they want, even discontinue the service. In the end the choices that are made is in Riot's full control. We as the players do not have a say in how they want their game to develop into a permanent esport. Yeah we may voice our concerns, give them suggestions, which again in the TOS states they can take your suggestions freely and use them, but ultimately the decisions they make is theirs. No one is going to like change. Ever. But you're going to have to deal with it or leave the game for another. And before people jump on what I have to say, you can go ahead and keep voicing your concerns, no one is saying you can't. What is being said is you don't have control, influence or the means to pushing Riot into doing the things you want for a game that you agreed you have no control over with the TOS. As for what I think. Both queues are kind of garbage, I don't think one is better over the other. It's kind of clear that the old queue had more ways to troll but neither dealt with AFKs or whining kids in general. You know the type of people who attack others for mistakes when they make the same if not more amount of mistakes in the same game. These kind of dumb kids need to leave or grow up.
Well, of course we control them We are their source of income Currently, I'm playing competitively significantly less, and I'm considering dropping league. They wont make money if their fuckups literally turn their playerbase away
: more like: we won't love you ever again.
If they fix this stuff, I'll cease to have any problems with this season and with the game as a whole

: Please Bring Back Spectating Random High Elo Games
Yes holy crap this was so cool. I loved watching them on occasion for a lot of reasons honestly - Seeing team comps that look interesting and watching how they work and what strategies they use at high elo - Seeing a champion I play and observing to see how the better players build/play/make decisions - Seeing a Lane match-up that I struggle with when playing as one of the champions - Simply learning how a champion *should* be played if I'm new with them or looking to start playing them It was really unnecessary to remove in my opinion

: 6.9 Jungle Worries- Warwick
He's definitely going to be a monster. If Riot intends to keep these jungle and item changes around for a while, they'll probably just tune his numbers. I can't see it having a negative effect, I mean, I havn't seen a Warwick in a position other than jungle since season 3
: Nothing. He just doesn't like the fact that he has to work to use it now. His complaint is that it's not point and click anymore
Work? Fuck off, it's not a difficult spell but it's useless when trying to seige, which, again, is what you stated he's meant for. How can you send it through the frontline? Good luck The fact it's no longer point and click isn't the problem, it's the fact that it was his best method of trying to focus a carry and now it's gone in favour of something that can be blocked by just about any tank with half a brain. It's too slow, the stun is too short, and the damage is pitiful
: > His ult feels weak, broadcasted, and is essentially useless in teamfights and absolutely pales in comparison to it's old form While visuals may not be the best, his ult packs a punch. And yes, it isn't so great for teamfights (although you will still do a lot of damage if you just dump all 3 shots on the clumped enemy), it's more for sniping or picking of escaping targets. > He is completely immobile in every aspect of his kit That's an intended weakness > His Passive is now generic and uninteresting, as well as inherently bad for his long range kit as it's auto attack based That's the point. Notice how all the long range mages have auto attack focused passives? It't to encourage/make them to actually interact with the enemy laner, so that the enemy has a window of opportunity or retaliation. > Stun is unimpressive and cannot target backline enemies as it's no longer a point and click His stun is amazing at catching people out. You don't need to be targeting back line opponents with it, you have more then enough range on your other abilities to just damage the back line through everyone. Additionally, he was never entirely focused on teamfights; he's *the* poke siege mage. If he was also an amazing teamfighter, that would be completely unbalanced. You want a mage that's good in teamfights? You pick someone like Zyra, Brand, or Viktor.
> That's an intended weakness which he doesn't have enough to make up for > That's the point. Notice how all the long range mages have auto attack focused passives? It't to encourage/make them to actually interact with the enemy laner, so that the enemy has a window of opportunity or retaliation. Like who, Ziggs, Ori and Lux? Yeah because they actually synergize with the kit If Xerath is MEANT to be _the_ Poke champion, like you said, then why is his passive near useless when sieging? Out of lane it's extremely difficult to proc it. He's meant to be backline, not in the face of the wave hitting minions for mana. And hitting minions doesn't even provide enough for reasonable sustain. Want to get in range to hit a champion while sieging? That's suicide I'm not sure how you don't realize this, but, a part of seiging is dives and teamfights. Old Xerath was competent in both the seige aspect, and the teamfight aspect, as his AoE ult was large, and his stun was able to focus down carries. He now lacks this completely
Kuronok2 (NA)
: He is still very good. Stop complaining about a champion being immobile, not all champions should be mobile. I think Xerath doesn't have a good keystone to use. I don't think TD is very good on him and the others are worse so he just goes with the less bad.
I'm not complaining about him being immobile, I'm saying he doesn't have enough to make up for his complete lack of mobility. Positioning is key yet he doesn't even have the speed buff he used to upon exiting Locus. If he is truly meant to be the ultimate poke champion, then he should be. But he isn't. I LIKE the fact that he's immobile. Regardless, it's still a weakness, and there isn't enough reward for playing a champion who is that immobile and difficult to position right now
: here^^ http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/developer-corner/a4Az9htA-mid-year-mage-updates-low-scope-mage-directions
Alright, Cool. Glad they've adressed his ult. That's definitely #1 for me But I do believe they should take a very good look at his passive and stun
: He is in the mage update though and is set to receive tweaks, just not Malz-level tweaks.
Can you link it? I hadn't seen his name come up in the older mage update posts
