Understand that a team game can still be a team game even when you dont know the people you team up with. Your post is wrong on so many aspects I'll just skip explaining too. We begged for a way to escape bronze if were good enough We begged for a way to play on a team without being part of a formal one We begged for many things including draft. We also begged for a way to only have to play exactly 2 roles at most most of the time And yes, you can have a game where solo players are matched with people they don't know, but that would be unfair to good players who don't want to waste their time trying to climb away from the bottom tiers and its unfair to people who'd actually like to get better. You shouldn't have to be forced to be teamed up with a formal team of 5 just to do a 5 man premade and show that you can function within one. Did you know there are pros who reach the top yet cannot perform competently in a formal team? They do great solo but nobody really cares about the yoloqueue hero so again there's reason not to invest in them as well.

It helps you escape bronze by queuing with your smurf friends who will carry you out of bronze. Big difference in the opinions of many players.
: Dynamic Queue Statistics for 61,977 Matches
A lot of people are saying that the main flaw is that this is master/challenger level. I think the main problem is the premade detection. Not all premades play 10 games together. If they play less, the system just recognizes them as solos. This would definitely skew the distribution of who a 5 man premade faced. Riot needs to release info on who is in a premade in a given game if players are going to look at the statistics, because otherwise we are just forced to make a assumptions.
: DQ has problems. So did the old system. Introducing Club Ranked
This sounds really cool for a lot of reasons (mainly I really want solo queue back) and I definitely suggest that people read it all the way through. I think this system has potential to work very well. One comment I'd have is that club rank vs solo rank vs prestige seem like too much to keep track of. I think that club rank could be replaced by individual prestige. Individual prestige could be either the total club prestige from a win split among all players from that game equally or the prestige could be divided based on ranks earned in the game (so someone who got an S would get more prestige than someone with a B). For matchmaking, solo rank and individual prestige could be combined. This system isn't ideal, because as prestige can't be lost a silver player could play nonstop and get into the club equivalent of diamond while still having silver skill. Your system of club rank is probably better than mine, but I wonder if there is a more efficient way to combine the rankings together.

: There are people who dislike the champ select part? I thought that vast majority were glad that they could do just 2 roles instead of needing to be competent at all 5?
In the past I rarely had to play my 4th role, let alone my 5th. For this season, I dislike that if I put support/fill as my secondary, I get support 90% of the time. I liked the natural filling that occurred in blind pick. However, I can also see that champ select has its advantages for many, like the 2 roles instead of 5.

: I was going to say something like "But then people will complain for having 95 LP", but i really dig this idea. I could see some players not giving a shit for losing when they are 98 LP and trolling, and there could be a few tweaks, but the concept makes sense and, even with some abuse, could greatly benefit the community at large.
Yeah, I'm not sure how to work around the trolling part. I agree that it would be very easy for someone at 98 lp to intentionally throw a game off of some little detail because it really won't affect them. That would be a pretty big obstacle if something like this was to be implemented.

: LP does go over 100 when in a series. That's part of what determines the LP you end up with if you fail your series. Your initial suggestion though is a recipe for rating inflation if I've ever heard one.
Yeah, I know it goes over 100 when you're in a series, but it doesn't go over 100 when entering a series, which is what I was talking about. And yeah, this would lead to inflation, but who doesn't want a higher rank right? :D

: ELIXIRS = A sandbox solution? (not a real sandbox...but may just be what we need)
This is a bad idea. Sorry. We can all agree that this would be worse than a complete sandbox mode, right? OP says so himself: > I know this is not a "real sandbox" So if it's not a real sandbox, then it has to have an upside to it that sandbox mode doesn't. I can't find that upside. This mode is wayyy less flexible than a sandbox mode needs to be. I'll take your example of using zed against bots that buy different elixirs by default. What if I want to practice killing a level 18 Ryze? There's nothing I can do about it. Really, the main problem here is that this Elixir mode **doesn't solve the problem with sandbox mode.** Riot has said explicitly that the reason they are not implementing a sandbox mode is because a sandbox mode would encourage players to practice for hours rather than play League of Legends. This mode is the same thing as sandbox mode in that it is a way for players to grind out skills outside of a real game. The main difference between this mode and sandbox mode is that this mode is less flexible than sandbox.

Each team has 5 players. If the standard response were true, every player would have a 60% win rate once they are in their proper division, which is patently false.
The account you linked the lolking for was diamond in s4 (shown right under summoner name). I said that all lcs **players** are or **could be** in high diamond at worst. I'm fairly certain if Leviathan focused on climbing instead of coaching (which doesn't require him to spam soloq, unlike players), then he could easily get to mid-high diamond. #rekt

: What ahri's speed boost should probably look like if you want to make a change
> > Its a clean and consistent dash that requires you commit to the direction you send it in. Currently her Q mobility will just give her a ton of flexibility and an inconsonant really high movespeed with differing durations depending on when she gets her orb back. It also allows her to turn and burn using her mid-long range high damage ability as an escape without paying any additional cost where I believe a 250-400 unit dash would be sufficient most of the time anyways. So her ult? Also, please tell me how you cast her q and pick a direction to dash in at the same time. > Ahri is one of the few champs explicitly balanced around risk/reward unlike the over 100 others that people simply assume MUST be balanced in this way. Part of what makes risk/reward fun is accepting some committal in exchange for some unusual perks like **scaling true damage or a triple dash**. You say she's risk/reward, but then you list two of her 'rewards' and don't name any 'risks' other than "some committal" - whatever that refers to. > also if possible make the damage on her Q somewhat conditional by which I mean a condition she has some actual control over like ashe's critting not like irelias E where it depends on hp %. Her Q is a powerful farming tool but its been turned into an escape tool where it was already a slap the jungler as you turn and burn tool. I'd like to see its costs lowered and its ability to clear a wave or chunk the entire enemy team increased UNDER some skillfully and strategically achieved condition What could be this condition that buffs her q magically? Also, you say that ashe's crits are controlled and irelia's e is not, but I'd say its the other way around. How do you control ashe's crits? She just does extra damage regardless of what you do. Irelia's e, on the other hand, stuns when you use the ability at the proper time - you control when it is used.
: What am I doing wrong? Why can I not climb?!
You have a very positive winrate with supports, I don't think they are the reason you aren't climbing. Looking at your match history, it looks like you are climbing. Sure, you might be in a bit of a slump, but you still have a 52% winrate in ranked, which means you should be consistently increasing your rank. It seems like you are actually disappointed with the rate at which you are climbing, which is understandable because climbing in ranked is a tedious process. The fastest way to climb is to carry your team consistently. You say that you are too much at the mercy of your adc and mid, but that is a poor excuse. In every game there are two adcs and two mids. Some games the other team's carries will be better, some games your team's carries will be better. Every role in the game is at the mercy of matchmaking, not just supports. You need to be at the point where you win a high percentage of games when your team and the enemy team are of equal skill level.

: Played a game last night where I was heimer bot lane and we had cho, amumu, akali, heimer, sona, bc akali locked akali after last pick locked cho bc she wasn't saying anything about it. She did okay but was report time after game win or lose bc she was so damn troll. Especially when you lock AFTER the other person does AND they were trying to communicate and asked what you want. She also left tp up till last second so cho assumed he was mid since she wouldn't respond and took ignite. She switched at the last second and said mid as the game started. So fucking troll.
If akali and cho were the last two to pick (which is what it looks like you are saying), then the 3 champs picked before them were amumu(jg), heim(top/mid?), and sona(supp), which leaves ad and top/mid. Why would akali hovering tp indicate to cho that he was mid?

You won the game. It isn't elo hell. The concept of elo hell is when you can't win a game no matter how hard you try to carry. Trolls exist, you have better odds of playing against them than with them. In this game, the odds worked out how they were supposed to.

: I am curious as to why spellvamp doesn't have ratios limiting its effectiveness on problem cases.
I think you're trying to change something that really doesn't need changing. Lifesteal is a stat that is used very well by most adcs (auto-attackers like cait and vayne) and not so efficiently by others (poke-based casters like corki and lucian). Spellvamp is similar, although the ratio of effectie to less effective is flipped, with most casters using spellvamp inefficiently. Part of this change stems from available itemization - the vast majority of adc builds naturally incorporate lifesteal with either bloodthirster or bork because their other stats are strong, while the vast majority of ap builds focus on raw ap and mpen, which do not come in high amounts with spellvamp items. Currently, building spellvamp on most ap carries is decision that has to be made very consciously because there are serious trade-offs to spellvamp items. If I'm playing someone like orianna, who you mentioned as someone who would potentially have their ratios buffed, I will not buy spellvamp unless the ratios are so op I can't avoid buying spellvamp simply because I care about how much damage I am doing and that I can get a strong ultimate. Spellvamp does not help either of these directly, and you can't convince me that its indirect affects outweigh the benefits of ap, pen, and resists. Finally, you say that since ap ratios already exist, implementing spellvamp ratios will be a basic change. I disagree strongly. Your goal (I believe) is to make spellvamp more accessible to the majority of ap carries. A major portion of ap carries are heavy aoe, such as ziggs, syndra, and orianna (who I talked about above). How do you determine the changes for these champs? Obviously, since they don't traditionally buy spellvamp, their spellvamp ratios would be buffed to encourage spellvamp usage. But to what degree? These champs deal great amounts of damage already, and even a 50% ratio would give them immense health returns. However, will a 10% increase (or something similar) be enough of a change to shift the item meta without it shifting the meta too far? It's easy to say that these numbers can be worked out through testing on pbe and live, but history shows that ratios (especially the ap ratios that you say logically lead to spellvamp ratios) can take seasons to work out, and even then there is still a question of balance (ap trist has been a controversial champ for quite some time, and there are many off-builds that push the limits of being op, like ap xin 1v1ing turrets). Frankly, it seems like a lot of work for a change that doesn't need to be made.

Similar to what TnG said, but basically after SKT beat SSW Piglet was crying in the aftergame interview b/c he felt like he let his team down. In the Road to Worlds documentary (I think) Imp mentioned that, which was kinda a dick move because Imp was laughing about how he made an opponent cry.
