: Playing a melee champ into a ranged champ top lane is worse than losing a winning lotto ticket.
This has been a problem with top lane for years. Rito's doesn't give a single fuck about how frustrating the experience is. In fact, they claimed to have a remedy for it when they released Gnar a couple years ago but he only made the problem worse, he didn't fix anything.

Old {{champion:8}} was a cancerous champion who had no business being allowed to exist. The new one is healthier for the game, but I agree they made him basically unplayable. He's not supposed to be oppressive in lane any more. Fuck that. The reason his win rate is so low is because idiot players don't know how to build him. Stop building the new hextech {{item:3030}} {{item:3152}} items on him they suck. The only one you can viably build is {{item:3146}} but I think you're better off focusing more on CDR, HP, and defensive items {{item:3116}} {{item:3151}} {{item:3001}} {{item:3065}} {{item:3047}} {{item:3089}} That's probably the most ideal build above always get {{item:3089}} last and the ordering of the other items doesn't matter too much, depends on the game and enemy comp.

Because I want to be able to ignore my team for the first 15-20 minutes of the game and blame them for why we go into mid game with a huge gold deficit.

His damage numbers are not. Remember on release? He was pretty worthless then later he got a damage and cooldown buff which basically put him where he is now.

Even in games where I happen to win lane against her it still feels like a fucking chore. There isn't a single moment where I can pause for a breather or just farm some minions. She's always a threat even while 0/4.

This is indisputable. **FACT 2**: Most masteries require 5 ranks to get the full effect. Before this 5.22 change, most masteries only required a single point. Even the masteries that required 4 points generally gave more stats than the new ones that require 5. **FACT 3**: There are more limitations about what masteries you can put points into. For example, if I wanted to put 30 points into the Resolve Tree, I can't. If I wanted to put 5 points into Fury AND 5 points into Sorcery I can't. If I want to put 1 point into Feast and 1 point into Double-Edged Sword, I can't. I have strictly less options. **FACT 4**: In any given tree, the Keystone masteries are VASTLY different from each other. Now let's talk about conclusions I made from these facts. **CONCLUSION 1**: For a utility/healing support like {{champion:37}} {{champion:16}} {{champion:40}} etc there's literally ONE keystone mastery you would want. You can go down the line of roles "I am a tank", "I am an AD carry", "I am a mage" and there is exactly one keystone mastery that you would prefer over all the others. **CONCLUSION 2**: NOBODY will take 5 points and split it between two masteries at any given tier. It makes no sense to do this. In any given tier, you want 5 points in one mastery or 5 points in the other. There is no middle ground that makes mathematical sense. For any given role champion, there is a ranking list of priority stats that you want. No two stats are EQUALLY desired by any one champion. **Final CONCLUSION**: From all of these points, I can definitely conclude that the new Masteries give less choice. This is just a mathematical thing, it's not my opinion. Just look at the numbers. Can I conclude these masteries are brainless? Perhaps, if the only thing you have to ask yourself is "what role is my champion?"
