: Accounts are tied uniquely (per region) to an email address, which means you can't usually prove a smurf is you unless you're well known and it's documented (such as being a streamer) without any doubt. People could sell their banned accounts to others and the others could just ticket Riot and say "hey look, I'm not toxic, unlock this account plz". Now I get to the point: There's a solution to this, and it is legitimizing smurf accounts by tying them directly to your main account by using the same email to create them or introducing a new system for creating them. Think Blizzard's approach; you have a "battle.net" account and every account you have for all their games you own can be linked to it.
As someone dealing with a hacked account one of the main things they ask is what is your usual IP Address so just check that. I mean that still leaves like brothers and sisters account but thats out there. ALSO you can have multiple WoW accounts under 1 email but only 1 can be logged in at a time so why not try that show Riot this is my main and this is my smurf and link them on 1 account and divide them the same way they are now but log in and summoner names.
: Nope I read it properly. Permaban is the best thing in my opinion. Too many people like that exists in this game, and the day that all of them are whipped off the league community will be a day that I will throughly celebrate.
Ok WIPE (cause thats the word you are looking for now whipped) those players off the community and it will all be good right? O WAIT. They can make smurfs and just be even more toxic. You will never be able to celebrate that day cause thats not how the world works. Riot is pouring water on a grease fire yes you can but it out in some areas but you make it worse in other areas. Anyone banned will just make a new account and be back with you in 2-3 weeks
: No, if you told me to jump off a cliff, I'd expect you to get banned and lose $1200. {{sticker:slayer-jinx-catface}}
That comment wasn't even worth reading.
: lol. You people seem to think that because you spend money in games, that it somehow makes you above the rules. Rules are Rules, your follow them, no questions asked. No amount of money can change the fact that YOU were the one being dumb and toxic. You have a brain, use it!
At no point did we say that money makes us above the rules. The original point being made was "Why not have a perma mute vs a perma ban if its just for being chatholes". But we do have a right to feel like we own something after paying huge amounts of money. Please understand what you are reading before writing. And we are supposedly the dumb ones.
: That's only when Riot did drop the ball and made a wrong ban, or you're relevant enough to the game to be considered if you have shown to have reformed (See Incarnation). More often than not, general players won't have their perma's revoked.
This is a fine example here http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=2433665 this guy is active now
: That's only when Riot did drop the ball and made a wrong ban, or you're relevant enough to the game to be considered if you have shown to have reformed (See Incarnation). More often than not, general players won't have their perma's revoked.
I personally think thats bullshit. I know you also were on my other thread but another idea for perma banned players is link a smurf to Riot and let them unban you when you have proven that you are reformed . I mean I see 0 flaws in that and that, to me, shows TRUE reform then punishments and expected to reform. I mean if you have a smurf and get perma banned on your main but after a year have proven that you have turned a complete 180 why shouldnt you be given your old account back. But back on subject many people admit to being toxic and getting perma banned for it and the post will be in 2012 andwhen you look at the account some are active so soon as yesterday.
: Because just because you spend money in a free to play game doesn't give you the right to be an uneducated spoiled brat. Riot is basically telling you that nobody has an obligation to put up with your issues.
You say we are spoiled brats because we think we should own our account after spending money on it. Money that I made from getting up in the morning and going to work and making a living. Explain what about that makes me spoiled

: You didn't mention being hacked before. It sounds like you're flip-flopping once people were not agreeing with you. Getting hacked and losing all that is an entirely different story from being elevated to a perma because you're toxic and kept ignoring the other punishments.
This was never a post about me... this was a post to get an alternative form of punishment out there... Why is it the reporting to "make a better community" is understandable but not making a post pointing out a very valid new form of punishment.
: Some people do not learn. We are given lots of chances to reform, and there are those that just don't give a shit and nothing will work but removing them from the community.
Like I said MULTIPLE times before. IF they are simply chatholes then perma mute them if they go to feeding on purpose then thats when bans come. Some people wont learn yes but guess what they cant say anything IF THEY ARE PERMA MUTED. Some people are chatholes because they are always there to win (I'm extremely guilty of this) so jus mute us why should there be a ban when we have no intention of feeding. Plus many times people get reported for being chatholes to people doing stuff like jg ezreal or adc thresh.

If you think that should be punishable then you seriously haven't gotten into the real world yet. Regardless if I do say "ur so noob" (which I dont if I'm gonna insult you its gonna be worse than 'ur so noob') why is it punishable? Because now everyone is offended by everything because people are babies nowadays. Even when someone talks down to me and curses at me I don't report them cause I'm an adult and can handle being insulted (especially on a damn video game) because my mommy and daddy didn't come running eveytime I had a problem I grew up realizing there are more important things to be offended by than a Red starbucks cup or someone insulting me on the internet. > P.S. You are silver and are probably told "ur so noob" about 10x a day depending on how much you play. Your over exposure to it makes it seems worse in your eyes than it really is. I have a pretty thick skin, and generally will mute someone rather than report. Sometimes I will report people that succeed in making me tilted though. That being said, telling people that this behavior is acceptable in the real world is true if you are friends with someone. You can joke around with coworkers that you have established a relationship. However, I'm not about to walk over to some random person in accounting who I've never met and talk shit. If I did, they'd be able to tell from my smile and reputation that I am messing around, but that's a privilege your teammates don't have. Chat is for working together and making the game better. Calling someone a noob for having a bad game isn't going to make them a better player, it won't make you win the game, and you are more likely to put your other teammates on tilt than cause anything positive to happen. While you may be having a good game and your mad skillz make you feel elite, you don't have a right to put your teammates down, and it is a dumb mistake to make. Show some self restraint, and grow up.
If you go on tilt from being told you suck then you probably do suck. Over the course of 5 years I've never gone on tilt cause someone told me I sucked. Its an excuse people use to play bad or report because someone called them out and made them mad. What child has their actions determined by something someone told them on the internet. If I old you to jump off a cliff would you do it and expect me to be arrested for insulting you?

You know why? Cause if someone says something that causes me to want to type at them, I mute them. >Riot is more machine than ever before. Everything is automated and nothing is actually handled by a person anymore and if you have any ticket they can't help with you get a copy+pasted response (sorta like your comment above) lets not even talk about the fact they have completely done away with the "O hey you are missing 10 rp draw us a picture or make us laugh and we can help you out there". Perma-Bans are reviewed by a real person before the ban is applied. Did the chat restrictions and suspensions not clue you in that you may need to change your attitude? >Lets also not forget that if you are hacked and, while hacked, get banned or any kind of punishment Riot doesn't feel they are responsible (which they aren't no one really is tbh nowadays getting hacked nowadays in online video games is a matter of time) and refuse to look into in hacked case. Lets also remember that all bans are handled by a freaking computer so you can not even be toxic, such as standing your ground or joking around where a curse word is used, and someone on the enemy team can be salty AF and report you and BAM computer deals out punishment. Again, Perma-bans are reviewed by real people. The problem with "Standing your ground" or "Joking around" is that all you are really doing is contributing to the toxicity of the game. 2 wrongs don't make a right. You don't need to defend yourself against some random Toxic player. They are not worth the time or the potential ban it will get you. Be an adult, mute them, and report them at the end.

: I will post it again similiar. 1.) Don't respond to toxic players (Mute them) . If you want to talk to a toxic player, do it respectfully, don't threaten reports, just be like "Hey Please stop being a jerk its not helping anyone." 2.) There is a new trend called baiting toxicitiy Baiting Toxicity is the act of making Throw -Away Accounts, or Smurfs to make good players like I hope most everyone is in League OF Legends say something hateful, then report them. The Second type of toxicity is the players who don't listen to what their mates say and make them play badly, a good example is when I was forced into a role, I said in Champion Selection screen at least 3 of my games I can think of " I am playing defense on the turret" Instead all the jerks did was push out and out of XP range and because of this I ended up playing horrid I feed because of this and the result I got suspended likely forever from this game. There are other types of baiting toxicity as well such as running in a persons lane and making it look like you accidently gave a couple of kills to another solo lane on purpose to make them get angry, then apologize in chat just to make yourself look innocent. Like honestly I agree with Riots "Do not do toxicity back policy" but I wish Riot would wake up and be able to understand toxicity from my point of view with likely thousands of hours played. **Riot Also assumes players are going to reform, no that isn't going to happen.** In reality when a player like myself, or the other guy gets banned from League like forever loses our hard earned work, thousands of hours put into the game, we simply just don't want to play the game anymore, in fact some of us who get banned and baited by toxic players come back being toxic players ourselves because we simply don't care anymore, and the problem with this is Riot themselves allows and encourages other users to keep making accounts, which doesn't solve anything. http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=2433665 (Check out this old post here to see what I am talking about) Second Post. And this is why players who are toxic just come back with Smurfs to bait others into being toxic, and so the cycle continues, instead there needs to be a way to break this loop.
I've never met a more intelligent person on League in 5 years than this guy. This is exactly when I have been saying for years. Bans breed more toxicity, whereas mutes can either let someone continue playing with no chat (tbh I'd take a perma mute just to not have the ability to not chat because I dont need to talk to people in game I could honestly not give a damn about them) or ban them and let them come back with smurfs where they are no pissed as hell and on mission to make others mad. As far as the feeders go just ban them and then when they get banned its different than getting banned for being a chathole cause chatholes can win game feeders wont so they wont climb back up to 30.

: Perma bans are true punishment. If they want to play again they have to start all over and hopefully they will have learned not to be an ass.
Um sir I find your use of the word "ass" as offensive I'll be reporting you now.
: Saying things like "Ohh fk me" or "well shit :p" isn't very threatening, but things like "Fk this fking team" or "ur so noob" is still highly punishable. Most of the time whenever I hear people like you using excuses to say these foul words with "Im juz joking around", it actually translates as "I want to curse them as much as I want to make myself feel better & they deserve to hear it".
"ur so noob" really? If you think that should be punishable then you seriously haven't gotten into the real world yet. Regardless if I do say "ur so noob" (which I dont if I'm gonna insult you its gonna be worse than 'ur so noob') why is it punishable? : If these toxic people can't deal in changing themselves, then it's best to completely remove them. They need a full time-out.
Well as a main offender of this, most people can't handle curse words even being in their game so, even when jokingly, see curse words they get on their white horse and report for no reason.
: Because permanent chat restrictions just lead to people transferring their toxicity to gameplay, which is far worse. http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/f/cIfEodbz/d/45xUUKxk?comment=000400000001
Ok then if it transfers over to feeding then they get the ban part but there is no reason whatsoever that a perma mute isnt a better option for dealing with a chathole then a damn perma ban.

Welp it appears the decision from Riot is that the hack was my fault and regardless of my history with the game and the company I am to remained ban and they will be keeping my account on lock for something that isnt my fault. I am honestly speechless over this. TBH if this is how the company is going to treat its players ESPECIALLY its veterans then I don't want to have any part in the future of this game and company. Its truly sad that, not just me but many of my friends as well agree, the downfall of League is not going to be the game or even the community, its gonna be this disgusting shell that the company has become. Good Bye League.

Yep thats a flaw I guess everything I use is on the same username and password... hell my email is just my username@emailprovider.com tbh a 10 yr old could probably hack it and clearly did lol

I'll look into this

: sounds sketchy... how did access to your email give them access to all your accounts. They'd have to know you login username not your summoner's name, but even then, How would someone from WoW know your other account names?
Also My login and summoner name are the exact same name
: he screwed if he has gmail because they actually dont have a number, but he will probably be fooled by the first few numbers he looks up. I feel your pain mate t.t
I was able to get the email fixed pretty fast cause yahoo has a weird thing where you can link different emails together into 1 account and switch with 1 click so I was able to get it fixed remotely fast but no I dont trust gmail for shit so I dont have them
: but he got the email saying he was perma banned then said email was changed he didnt have access. lmao "but much to my surprise while playing Fallout I check my emails and see "your account has been permabanned"" " I dont have access to the account due to password change and email change and I dont wanna try fixing it on my own cause I dont wanna mess things up for riot to not be able to fix it)."
I didn't sign onto my email I get my emails on my phone like a text message.... so unless they changed my phone number I'd get emails the same way
: This is why you don't reuse passwords, particularly for things you care about.
100% agree now I've never been hacked before so EVERYTHING I used was on 1 email and 1 password
: Well that sucks. Talk to riot and i'm sure you'll be able to get your stuff back. as well as call the email provider and try and get everything fixed dude.
Yeah its awful I have spent my entire day dealing with banned accounts

: You need to submit a ticket to support.riotgames.com. My suggestion would be to lead in with the explanation of how your account was hacked and that you didn't realize until it was too late that you needed to put in a ticket to recover the account. I can't guarantee that this'll work better, but if you start off with 'my account was permabanned and it was the hacker's fault', you're more likely to get the generic response saying how the ban was reviewed and is being upheld. Best of luck to you.
Yeah I went thru account recovery vs account suspension cause I feel like that part is pretty much: open ticket > replied with copy pasta reply.
