: I disagree with you.
I rest my case. G'night everybody.

More recently, on my newer accounts, I have escaped such punishment by forcing myself not to type when I'm frustrated with my team. It's sad to me that I have to do this, because in reality those games I'd get reported and/or banned for would be pretty mild in terms of "negative attitude." I wasn't one to full blown cuss people out or threaten them or use hate speech or anything like that. Rather, I'd see my teammate facecheck a bush that he knows full well the enemy team is in (because we all just watched them walk in) with 100hp just so he can drop a ward (you know, to show us that the enemies we already know are in the bush are in fact in that bush, just in case there was any doubt), and I'd respond with something like "what the hell was that? you know they're in there... don't facecheck." Pretty reasonable thing to say to a teammate in my opinion. We need to be able to communicate with our team to tell them when they're doing something wrong or right or what have you. That's the whole point of having a chat feature. It doesn't need to get out of hand, but we shouldn't have to be afraid of telling our teammates they're playing poorly because of how they may overreact and report us, and we all know riot will side with them. Nah,chat can *never* be to tell someone that they fucked up,because it's definently *my* problem if the other person choses to take it personally. > I know the majority of you who read my post and actually reply will be the aforementioned face-checker. The insecure, sensitive about my gameplay, and if you insult me I'm running straight down mid type of players. You'll attack my post and say any level of negativity is abusive and should be punishable, Its only in player behavior boards, just ignore it. > and I just want to say up front that I genuinely feel bad for you for being so insecure that you can't take any level of criticism in a video game. The vast majority of players who are on your team are trying to improve and trying to win, and communicating when others are way off base is important and quite helpful when done correctly and properly received. You shouldn't be so quick to the defensive and maybe think to yourself "yea that was pretty dumb, my bad" and move on. When you get offended and start striking back, you're just as bad and the whole situation escalates. But inevitably, the person who gets punished is the one who first said something, and not the person who retaliates. Welcome to NA! The most dogshit region in terms of competitivness because of reasons like this!
I know I'm not going to get anywhere because the only people who are vocal on the forums are the people who want to argue. Rarely get people posting to agree with me, but I feel it raises awareness regardless.
: The last two times I had some hard inters on my team, their actions were preceded by someone belittling them. Not with the level of insults you find unacceptable in chat, but the kind I think you would find acceptable. But those are edge cases. Most of the time, I ignore players that engage in arguing and insulting commentary, but I don't speak for the entire player base, as others don't always mute problematic players. Muting players solves *my* problem with another's actions, but it doesn't resolve its affects on anyone else. I'm not sensitive to your insults; they're frankly detrimental to my goal of winning, and I don't want them in my game. Also, I've rarely seen players with 1 or 2, heck maybe even 3 lines where all they say is get onto a teammate for doing something stupid. It happens. But you don't arrive to a permaban without a history of that happening, and you get punished when your actions are continuously causing a negative effect for the rest of your team.
And lastly, the whole point of this post is that focus needs to be shifted on inters. People with negative attitudes are flagged as "toxic" and pull in frequent reports because they annoy people. The ban system is based largely on volume of reports and not necessarily what the reports specifically entail. So if a player is consistently negative and annoys people to the point where they report them for the sake of reporting them, they are much more likely to get banned. Meanwhile, inters get away everything ban-free because (1) they usually don't int every game and (2) it's "harder to prove" because Riot realistically only looks at chat logs, which is unfair. Vods should be reviewed for these kinds of offenses, as it would actually take much less time to fastforward and skim a vod to find evidence of inting than it would to read a full chat log.

And as I said in my introductory statement I haven't been banned in a long time, I'm speaking from my experience on this account nearly 6 years ago, that of vocal players in high elo, and that of people I have played with in the long 8 years I've played this game. I see first hand how they act in game and know full well it's not bannable, because I know what it takes to get banned. Yet they get bans anyways, while the inters remain.

: I wouldnt say so much as its flawed, but it does need some heavy improvement. Its really hard to take this seriously when you arent showing evidence though. You are only giving your side of the story, and sadly that doesnt help much. You cannt say that the only reason you are ban was because you told someone not to facecheck and just have us believe that. Ive been on this board for many years and have seen every excuse in the book. People will always make themselves look better or play the victim. You want us to take you seriously Show your chatlogs. Or show us evidence that what you claim is the only reason you got ban!
I don't need hard evidence it's very prevalent in the community among high elo players, they're pretty vocal about the issue. Trying to raise some awareness on the forums as well.

Not against the summoner's code though, so that's your own personal problem. Missing the point yet again.

: I don't buy it, and I'm not the kind of person you've pre-disregarded. I'm not the face-checker. I'm the bystander. I'm the player off to the side, watching his team cohesion unravel because player A makes a dumb mistake and player B thinks its his job to make a fool out of A. The worst part is when A takes B's ridicule hard, and tilts or starts trolling in retaliation. It sucks, because through no fault of my own, I'm now in a 4v5. Muting sure doesn't help me. I absolutely blame player A for being immature and throwing the game through his actions, but I sure as hell also blame player B for feeling the need to insult his own teammates for no better reason than to feel somehow better about themselves for it. I also sincerely doubt you've had multiple banned accounts for saying "what the hell was that?".
I'd show you chat logs if I could. But you're pretty ignorant if you want to try and deny that the ban system isn't heavily skewed towards negativity and completely excuses behavior that intentionally ruins games. Getting banned for negativity doesn't have to do with what you say, it's more related to the volume of reports. If you type a lot and tell your team they suck, they're much more likely to dislike you and remember to report you in post-game, even if your behavior technically isn't in violation of the code. But when someone ints and ruins a game sporadically and only receives a few reports here and there for it, they escape the ban system entirely. It's blatantly obvious, and people who are consistently negative or complain and bitch about the game get punished. It might be annoying to listen to, but it's not a bannable violation to be annoying and pessimistic, and you can easily mute me if you so desire. You're missing the picture entirely.

: I would actually love to see a red tracker on this one. 5 years is a long time, and riot can confirm your other account. I'm not sure why people are down voting this, it seems like a reasonable and well thought out request.
Yea it didn't work xD
: Riot needs to specify what is considered as flaming and what isn't.

Me and my premade were playing a game and simply put... my premade got permabanned for arguing with an intentional feeder. I did the exact same thing and i promise you none of us used any derogatory terms and literally all we said is that we have a brain and that the feeder doesn't. Riot banned my premade permanently for arguing with an inter. The entire team also reported the inter and the inter reported my premade. Riot needs to understand that I have the right to ask and question any teammate on their decisions. If I am getting banned for arguing with an intentional feeder then Riot seriously need to reconsider their policies on flaming. We did not flame at all whatsoever and the harshest thing we said was that the feeder didn't have a brain. Riot need to manually review some of these games cause it just isn't fair for a team to lose LP and get banned for questioning other players. Now here is where the problem lies. Im posting this discussion from another account. The server on which my premade got permabanned was on EU NE. In EU W i have noticed it is much stricter than EU NE in terms of chat bans since I also got a chat ban in EU W for telling someone to take smite as JG and they didn't. Riot are not consistent regarding their terms and policies on all servers. If you ask me, Riot should be less strict with players who flame as in my honest opinion I would much rather have flamers than intentional feeders. It is so stupid that chat even exists as there is no point of having it in game as you get banned for arguing with teammates. The entire team has an option to mute chat and ignore all messages but that is not very conventional especially when you need communication to win the game. I think intentional feeders deserve perma ban on sight and that flaming should be proven to be hurtful. > (Flaming someones mom is a ban 100%, flaming someone because they are doing bad and aren't thinking with their brain should not result in any penalties.) Please Riot review the account ''ToxicCourt'' from EU NE and do justify his Permaban if possible or at least give him a new account with all his current champs. Finally, I would like to state that you guys must introduce a clear and cut example of flaming in League of Legends as arguing with teammates is not flame. > -Thank you for listening. > P.S( Im the Kayn and my premade is veigar in the match overview. Taliyah was the intentional feeder.) Sorry to say you're wasting your time friend. I'm posing this reply from an account that was permabanned because I was joking around with a friend in game and calling him bad and such. My friend and I shared the same sense of humor where we liked to bust on each other, but a teammate thought I was flaming and reported me, and I was permabanned by the tribunal. I appealed this ban to riot both after the ban and again nearly 5 years later, and they gave me about a two sentence reply that they would not review my case nor unban my account. Riot doesn't care if your account gets unjustly banned, because it means you'll likely buy a new one and spend money leveling it up and reclaiming your skins. All of the fellow summoners reading your post and mine will undoubtedly side with riot, and pretend that they've never made even the slightest negative comment in a game that would have risked getting them banned. But not until the moment that they're peacefully farming their jungle and in the midst of clearing their second buff before all 3 lanes die and they type "team?" and get slapped with 4 reports in the post-game, and banned for it, will they flip sides and admit that the ban system for League of Legends is corrupt and broken. I guarantee this post gets downvoted and that people quote it trying to pick apart what I say and jump to riots defense, saying things like "you shouldn't be fake flaming your friend in team chat, there's a whisper function for a reason" or some other nonsensical rational for why I deserve the ban I got after devoting years of my life to this game. But the truth is, Riot doesn't care, and they've got an enormous, brainwashed community backing their every move. Whether it's fear or delusion, I know not. I am sorry for the fate of your friend, and for that of many summoners like him. Know that this need not be the end of his journey, but the start of a new one.

Will do, thanks for the tip
