The skins in the prestige point shop are more of exceptions rather than the norm for prestige skins. Those 4 prestige skins are the only ones that can currently be bought year round. The reason for that is because Riot wanted another income stream, so they made "prestige skins" that used to only be acquired through prestige points that were tied to bundles in the shop, rather than mainly through playing many games during events. The new prestige Irelia skin is the 6th prestige skin that is available in the original prestige skin method, by collecting event tokens. This is the way the first prestige skin made, KDA Kai'sa: Prestige Edition, was released, by collected Worlds tokens during last years Worlds event.

They're all mobile AD burst assassins that need to get ahead, roam, and snowball to carry the game, and generally fall off if the game goes on too long. Yes, we definitely haven't had a new one in a while, but we didn't need a new one. It's been done. Some kind of variation in the assassin playstyle, like a burst assassin that actually scales with a weak early game, or a sustained damage, skirmishing playstyle that uses high mobility to dash in and out of danger and stick to their targets. I was hoping for something fresh with this new assassin, but it's the same old schtick with different controls. Qiyana doesn't bring anything to the table that a different assassin doesn't already do.
The thing about is assassins is that they can't be allowed to be truely "scale" past midgame. Past midgame is where people start to group up which is why they are weak past then, not their damage, but their ability to find semi isolated targets. Pretty much every assassin can kill a squishy target late game, the problem is the targets teammates that will stop you. About the variety but with different controls, aren't most classes like that?

: Remember when League used to be FUNNY?
They probably still happen, but you might be focusing too much on winning to enjoy them. One of the funnest things about games is the new experiences, but after you play long enough it kind of becomes not fun. For example, a few seasons ago, you could be going through a chase, but you end up dying, and you would still be happy that you lived long. But now, if you do the same chase, you will just feel salty because you died rather then enjoying how long you lived.

: I can only avoid tilt in normals, but never in ranked
Your going to have to learn to not care as much about ranked. Seeing your teammate counterpick themselves is tilting, but rarely matters unless the opponent is a main, even then, the opponent still manages to lose half the time. Its important to remember, if you were really good and skilled at the game, you would be winning 90% of your games in gold. Honestly looking at your winrate, I think you can get out of gold with time(even with your tilt), but make sure not to chat and avoid tilt by not caring as much about your allies. Make sure to avoid tilting your allies also, they may be doing bad, but as long as they aren't tilted, they may get back into the game, the same way you do. Sure it might happen 5% of the time, but that is still a 5% increase in winrate(at least a division). There is only one player that changes each of your games, and that player is you. About the feeders, you'll see them on both teams. Only thing you can do is make sure that you aren't the feeder that fed your lane opponent 3 kills no matter the reason. Everyone feeds sometimes, make sure not to tilt if it happens to you or a teammate. If everything else goes wrong, just play normal matches only. There are four major areas of the game, and your mental is one of them. You made it to gold, the only reason to continue playing flex or solo is to get a plat border, is a plat border worth it? This probably the best comment. vvv > [{quoted}](name=LordBadToo,realm=EUW,application-id=yrc23zHg,discussion-id=tIA85jB0,comment-id=0007,timestamp=2019-04-09T11:23:20.409+0000) > > In short, you avoid Tilt through maturity and higher level of understanding. > > You have to realize the following. > > 1. Just because someone plays ranked, doesn't mean they are a professional player, know the ins and outs of the game and have some sort of higher understanding of the foundation on which things like matchup works. Odds are, they don't and they don't care that they don't. Simply put, many, I would argue most people do not consider "match ups" during champ select relevant to the game at all and may not even realize or care that they just counter picked themselves. They play ranked using the champions they know, regardless. This is the most common approach to ranked games. > > 2. The concept of counter picking is also extremely circumstantial. Yes, in pro games its huge, in lower division games skill levels between players can be so wildly different that champion picks themselves have virtually no impact on the outcome of the game at all. > > 3. Your opinion on what other people are doing means a grand total of ZERO to anyone but you. Make peace with that, or you will spend your days tilting in ranked forever. Unless someone asks you what you think, you can assume they don't care what you think. Know your place in the match, you are not anyones leader or expert advisor, your just a random they got paired up with and your assumption that you know better than them is just narcissism, you have ZERO information about the player at the other end of the controls. > > Finally, the fact that you tilt, is more likely why you are losing matches, then the fact that someone plays poorly. This is the hardest hurdle for ranked players to get over next to the assumption that whatever division they are in, they should be higher and that it's everyone's fault but their own that this is not the case. > > Tilting = Losing.

That's not what you said, though; this is what you said. > If they are made every few patches, then they become less prestigious and just who has more time to play league all year. If this prestige skin is bought only with money, then it falls into the money = prestige that skins kind of already are. Like I said, you're pushing your subjective opinion about what is prestigious onto a point that's supposed to be objective. More of them does not make any previous ones less prestigious, and just because two out of three coincided with events doesn't mean they must have a theme of being tied to events.
Prestige already is a pretty subjective topic, what is prestigious to one may not be to another. To me and maybe a few, the skins lose some prestige if they are not tied to an event and are instead released at any given time like the rest of the skins in the game. In the comment you are referring to, if the skins are released every few patches, that means they are likely not being released with an event, which means they become less prestigious in my eyes and more of an indicator of who has more time to play all year. You have brought it up a few times, but I don't think I wrote anywhere that the previous skins independently become less prestigious if more skins are made. In my original comment 'they' refers to the prestige sub-skinline. Even if new prestige skins were made every week, the first two skins retain their own prestige. There is still no question that the original two will be exclusive. > [{quoted}](name=Skreame,realm=NA,application-id=Ag8jgd8Q,discussion-id=7UiY1E3J,comment-id=00060007000000000000000000000000,timestamp=2019-01-15T23:54:45.378+0000) > >. . . just because two out of three coincided with events doesn't mean they must have a theme of being tied to events. : So like I said before, you're just using your own opinion on the skin line as a whole to make a point, but it's not objective. They could make a new prestigious skin every single week, but Prestigious Kai'sa will still be as limited as it always is and nothing will change that individually. If you just want to make it hard for anyone to have any prestigious skin, the original method that arbitrarily gives it to those who happen to be playing at that moment is a really dumb method as well. If you wanted a truly standardized method that is fair and accounts for exclusivity while promoting hard work or investment, all Riot would have to do is put all the Prestige skins on the ticket system, and give out a ticket along with the usual box reward for getting and S- or higher like they already do for mastery rewards. That makes a maximum of 52 tickets a year on top of whatever tickets you get from purchases, making purchases and extensive playing more equal opportunity, but still not so easy to be arbitrary.
I already know that the skins are limited, I wrote that in my reply. I feel like we may be discussing two different topics. My concern with the prestige sub-skinline is that it seems to be losing the theme of being tied to big events.
Skreame (NA)
: Then the logic follows that if each individual skin does not become available for any kind of sale or way to unlock it after the original event, how does it become less prestigious just because other prestigious skins are created? You're making a false equivalency that prestigious translates to exclusive in number, but it's exclusive in means to obtain or own on an individual basis. No one a year from now is going not admire Prestigious Kai'sa just because someone else owns a completely different Prestigious skin. Makes no sense.
I don't mind if there are lots of prestige skins eventually made either. There is no doubt that the skins will still be exclusive, I didn't write anything against that either. I wrote this- > [{quoted}](name=musaabali,realm=NA,application-id=Ag8jgd8Q,discussion-id=7UiY1E3J,comment-id=0006,timestamp=2019-01-08T19:33:56.660+0000) > > I understand why Riot would want to make prestige skins, but isn't this starting to be a little too much? If they are made every few patches, then they become less prestigious and just who has more time to play league all year. The concern I had in my comment was about the amount made in the short time frame, assuming that the prestige skins all had their own grinding event.(before we learned that Aatrox would be purchase only). Yes, the skins do gain prestige because they of their exclusivity, there is no denying that, otherwise Pax Twisted Fate would be worthless. But the prestige I mentioned is from the events they were tied to. The skins gained prestige because you got them from grinding in their event. Kai'sa from the whole worlds event, and Akali from the winter event(and the hype from the worlds event). When these two new prestige skins were revealed so close to each other, there is nothing to make us assume Riot won't release more at the same pace(1 per month) with laughable events or even no event, just a prestige skin because they make money.
: But the prestige skin will be available for an entire year and as long as they make prestige points available throughout the entire year, then it's not so bad. Btw, it just looks like an Arclight skin to me.
Thats the one good thing, I just hope that they don't release more prestige skins that are purchase only in the next year.
: Hey Reav3 can you share in your opinion why in general non humanoids aren't as resonant as humanoids, it seems to be a trend in gaming in general since like even in WoW people greatly prefer humanoids like Draenei or Elves over like say taurens or goblins
The important part that the players can relate in some way to the character. The easy way is making the character look like us, which in turn makes us like them because they are familiar. It ties a bit into seeing nonhumans as below us / seeing humans as better than nonhumans.
: So when next event starts? I guess it will be 'blood moon' event?
No blood moon event, there will be a chinese new year event though.
: Well the newest skin for Aatrox doesn't seem to require game play at all, (Unless we will be able to obtain "Prestige points" through an event?) What it does require though is 105$. Not prestigious at all in my opinion.
Yea, a Rioter said that you can't get enough tokens to earn the skin for free. It looks like they are moving away from the grinding into just getting tokens through buying bundles. They might as well be gold skins now, the new prestige skins don't seem to have as much difference in them that Kai'sa and Akali had also. If they continue to make them purchasable only, I will probably pass on the rest of the prestige skins, they wont feel like they mean anything.
Skreame (NA)
: How would they become less prestigious if it's for a different champ every time? It's not like you can do any future events and get Prestigious Kaisa from them unless Riot decides to bring them back later on.

: Also, skins always cost money, I don't understand your money argument...
The prestige skins purchase option shouldn't only be money thing. There really was no reason to put this in the comment, it was just an afterthought. The skins are monuments to the amount of time that you played to get them. If this skin ended up as a purchase only thing, then the theme of them being bought with time is broken, and the only thing that would separate them from the rest of the skins is cost. The only thing that makes them prestige is the fact that time is needed to get the skins without paying $250. If they are only bought with money, the only thing that makes them 'prestige' is that more money is need to buy them.
fighter (NA)
: These are a fun incentive to keep on playing. Nobody is forcing you to play all year long... Just stay updated with patch notes and when you see a skin you like, you can play more.
Yea, my argument is a bit stupid, but as someone who wants to try and grind for all of the skins, it is starting to feel like a marathon with the frequency that they seem to be made. It would just feel better if the skins were spaced evenly throughout the year. This won't affect many players so I got to find my own way to collect them all.
: Can we talk about this new champ? What happens if he steals nidalee ult?
Riot says he gets cougar form.
: Patch 9.1 notes
I understand why Riot would want to make prestige skins, but isn't this starting to be a little too much? If they are made every few patches, then they become less prestigious and just who has more time to play league all year. If this prestige skin is bought only with money, then it falls into the money = prestige that skins kind of already are. Edit: A little extra thoughts, The skins seemed prestigious for two reasons. The first is that they are released to celebrate a cool event , the second is that you have to play a lot for them during that event. The K/DA skins made sense, they were part of the biggest event of last year. K/DA Akali was thrown into the snowdown event to catch the tail of the K/DA wave. The bloodmoon skins and firecracker skins are old skinlines, if Riot can make bloodmoon and lunar events seem as cool as K/DA event, then they deserve the prestige status, if they don't, then prestige skins will seem less prestigious and more like the gold character and ability chromas they already are. I dunno if this makes sense or if it is a twitch chat BabyRage type of complaint. I just hope that they are tied to game events and that they are spread out a bit more than 4 in four months. Not every event needs a prestige skin, but if it does get one, make it count.

He didn't kill any nobles currently, unless someone at the hanging was a noble. He currently gathered a group of exiled mages that want to topple the throne.

It’s enraging to listen to all the Demacian champions scream about “justice” while they slaughter and oppress their own people as much as possible to keep the ruling class in power, while blaming everything bad on mages. Demacia is literally WWII Germany.
Now Sylas can show the Demacians why its a bad idea to jail mages, by destroying their cities and killing their nobles with magic. Did Demacia really kill people based off their race, I thought it was only magic. Calling Demacia WWII Germany is a bit far, maybe something like pre-revolution France would be better, because if Sylas is able to get the ball rolling with the whole kill the nobles thing, this is going to look like what happened to France.

It did three bounces + the initial jump, all knocking back the enemy slightly. Each opponent could only be cc'd once, and it did aoe damage scaling with ap. Looking at this, the only real difference is in the fact that the damage/cc instances were seperated by 1 second intervals rather than Wukongs persistant ult. Compared to Zac's current ult, which can bring one or many opponents to a certain spot, his old ult was less impactful. Especially since Zac can quickcast his current ult if he wishes for a similar knockback effect.

As I've stated numerous times before, we know literally nothing about the new Popstar skins, except that Pop Star Kai'Sa is getting a white prestige chroma and that it's the only prestige chroma being released as part of the World's 2018 event currently going on. What this means is that it's very possible for Ahri's black Pop Star to be a purchasable prestige chroma in the store, available when the skins release in November. After all, her base Pop Star skin is white, and we know Kai'sa is getting a second variant, so at this point assuming that the black Pop Star Ahri is a "new skin" is making a lot of invalidated assumptions. Additionally, the skins are heavily rumored to be linked to the fact that the K-Pop group, Black Pink, is going to be performing at World's this year, and considering that there are 4 members, and 4 skins, it's entirely possible the band members picked the skins. And also, Ahri is heavily connected Korea, so having her be omitted from some part of the Korean World's content would be problematic. There are lot of cases where Ahri's black Pop Star could be something else or an exception to the rule, so using at hard fact at this point in time is not going to be driving any points home.
Just to correct the PS Kai'Sa part. It is its own skin with its own effects.

: So why the F did they remove the reroll bar in ARAM? I don't see any patch notes about that, and I swear I had seen it over the weekend? Was that some Nexus Blitz crap? If so, that's retarded.
Was bug, it is back now
: I'd suggest Smite. The community's small (compared to LoL) and I've found much less toxicity there. I came back to league when I heard about Nexus Blitz, and have been playing it for a good while. But it's gone now. I decide to play some ARAM, and now the 'reroll pool' is gone too. Christ.
The Aram pool being missing is a bug, though I am pretty sure it is back because the "!" doesn't show it as a problem anymore.

Even in her music video on release, she didn't kill people, we just saw her destroying robots. > > So this is still in character, it might be that you interpret her back then as bloodthirsty and killing for the luls, but this side was actually never shown anywhere, you just imagined her like that. She talks about killing non-stop: _I'll be right back! No one die screaming without me! Any last words? Ha! No, just die. No need to be scared - or alive. You're my favorite waste of bullets_ Also, there is no way people were not killed by the bombs she detonated **throughout the entire city** in her new biography. Those weren't confetti. It's just a way to make her likeable, much like DC's "Harley Quinn used to kill, torture and maim people, but it's OK because she is so cute and kinda sorry about it!".
The example I remember given a few years ago was that Jinx won't just shoot someone with a missile launcher to kill them, but if they are standing on a pile of fireworks, that is when she doesn't care if they are standing on the pile or not.
: Eh idk if I agree with zoe being "chaotic good" If anything Zoe is chaotic evil if we're judging by her lore. She's actually pretty up there in ranks with {{champion:28}} on shit she does to people for amusement, I think eve wins just because "slow torture for sake of pain" sounds a lot scarier. Jinx is hard to judge cause we don't know for sure if its just a medical condition that she's a bit murderous, if she really likes killing people or if she just likes blowing things up with people as a by product, or if there's a specific reason she does it due to her unknowing past (warwick suggests he seen the fear in her eyes before, maybe piltover did something traumatizing in zaun and she just likes pissing them off out of revenge more then anything?)
It was confusing to read but he is talking about Tristana instead of Zoe.
: Screen froze mid game. Had to force power off my computer
This happened to two of my teammates in my ranked game, felt pretty bad.

R is pure mobility and E is focused for CC, while power boosting Q. So realisticly the on ly two ability in her kit that does damage is her Q and Passive. She literally does not have W if her opponents do not use a spell, but if they do, than what she gets is huge. You can't flash gank her, for u give her flash, you can't all in her with ignite for than you give her two offensive spells to use on you. You can't flash from her for than you give her flash. > > But once again, if the opponents use no spells, she has no W, so all her damage is placed into q, to supplement this weakness. > > Until W becomes a actually fair ability and is reworked, her Q must always be capable of doing a shit load of damage, which makes her quite literally impossible to balance. FUCKING THANK YOU this so much, but you also have to state that she can get a W from minions anyway, so if the enemy won't use a SS, it is on a timer until you can have a chance to get a free SS/item active anyways. And seeing as riot wants to nerf {{champion:163}} wall for giving vision, {{champion:142}} shouldn't be allowed to get a 100 range vision when someone uses a SS... > "Whenever enemy champions cast a Spells icon summoner spell or item active, they drop the corresponding Spell Shard onto the ground that grants Sight icon sight over a 100-radius area and remains for 40 seconds. " which always struck me as odd, how does {{summoner:11}} interact with that? can she see what camps the enemy jungler is on because they smited a camp???
Riot removed the sight a long time ago, only spells that you see casted are seen on the map, you also can't see enemy champions with it, just the spell, kind of like Bard, but you have to see the spell be casted first.
