I honestly dont think it's fair for people who use chat appropriately for gameplay to be muted from the start without even having said anything. And for people trying to play competitively. It can be outright demoralizing to have your entire team unable to see your play calls. Or Even worse if they have pings muted as well as chat. And riot is walking a dangerous road by encouraging people to mute all from the start. What's the point of a multiplayer game if people just instantly mute each other the moment they get into a game. Not to mention. Negative players dont take kindly to finding out they've been muted. And may troll in retaliation. Even If you don't tell people you've muted them. It's pretty easy to figure it out. And I've seen people int feed or steal farm from players once they figure out they've been muted by someone.

: I think the only way a voting system would work with the current player numbers is if it was used to check player opinions vs. IFS outcomes. I know the current system does adjust based on what gets reported, but it's based on reports made while tempers are high. I suspect voting when there isn't an emotional knee-jerk might help Riot's anti-feeding system weed out false and revenge reporting.

: I'm not sure the benefit of a Tribunal is worth the effort Riot has to put into it, especially considering that giving bans into the hands of players will always require a lot of oversight, simply due to accountability. Tribunal originally already had a huge problem with how many bans it actually put out. Focussing on only one type of offense is clearly going to reduce the workload, but I'm not convinced it would do that a lot, as those cases are also going to be the most controversial ones (which means you need to have a **lot** of people vote on it until the result is clearly representative) and will only be easy to judge if there is not only very clear proof but also a helpful timestamp in at least one report. Pardons, on the other hand, effectively require you to watch the entire thing. That leads me to the next problem: There are going to be a **lot** of pardons. For one because this offense requires intention, which can be fairly easily hidden. Additionally to those "pseudo-false" reports there are a lot of actually false reports in this category, where people simply hold people to a higher standard than is reasonable amongst their skill bracket. Bottom line: Even when considering the lower amount of cases, I think such a Tribunal would work even less efficiently than the last, which in my personal opinion, is going to be even slower at dishing out punishments than the current system. >i would also suggest changing the name of the "intentional feeding" report category to "griefing/trolling" in order to better identify other forms of gameplay trolling besides just running down mid 100% agreed. I'm already happy that Riot changed the ban message, but yeah… don't know why it takes them so long to change this. I don't think I would include the word "trolling" though, simply on account of the ambiguity of the word. I've seen a lot of people use that word to describe non-serious or unconventional strategies, even if they have a reasonably high success rate. Sometimes even on account of people unambiguously trolling the **enemy**. >i would also like to see a change that any punishment for intentionally feeding in ranked is an instant permaban, not a 14 day ban I think a season-long (or even permanent) ban **from ranked** would be more reasonable, additionally to current 14-day ban of course. What I would find more important though, is that Riot should instantly permaban people if it's clear it was "planned" trolling, in other words if those people entered the game already with the full intention to troll rather than just overreacting to something. I simply don't see why people who make the conscious choice to troll others because they enjoy ruining their games would change their ways. Especially since those actions are typically taken on throw-away accounts anyway.

I sure hope they will give us a heads up about it. My guess is they finally changed the coding so that bans issued by manual review give the notification if so. Good on them, it was long overdue. That being said more could be done when it comes to trolling. And an automated system will NEVER be able to properly catch gameplay trolling. It's too easy to fly under the radar as long as you stay out of chat

My main question is how are any of your accounts Lvl 5 Honor right now? That shouldn't be possible. You know, I was gonna try and rewrite your post to be readable, but I honestly can not understand what you're trying to say in paragraph two. I think it's something about people dying repeatedly and playing bad. This then causes the other people on their team to tilt. But the bad player never gets punished? You also seem to be saying that one bad game should equal a ban, which doesn't make sense based on your own admittance to having bad games. So, this has left me confused on whether you think people should be allowed bad games or not? Should you be banned for your bad game? Can you give me some bullet points?

If somebody was that much of a bother, I'd simply silence them. Or, just talk shit back. Either way, the flames have already started the second someone says something. Just let them settle it. The game's kind have fallen to shit. Nobody's resorting to physical violence. All they do is boil the kettle by trying to restrict someone's words. I wish the criminal offense of impersonating a doctor applied to this company, honestly. Because they see themselves as some sort of big therapy program and believe penalizing these players are going to change their persona. No, if anything, you've probably ticked them off even more.

: I can't speak for Riot, but I *personally* believe they are unlikely to implement such a feature. I'll explain why in a moment. First, while there are definitely cases (like yours) where it might help, there are other ways of disabling chat. There are ways to unbind your enter key, for example, or you can move the chat off the screen. The reason I think Riot doesn't have their own, official way is that they *want* players to communicate. Putting in an official "stop yourself from ever chatting again" button is basically saying "don't communicate." It's the same reason I feel like there isn't a "default mute all" option.

I think the real reason is that it would be a PR nightmare for people who already lost accounts due to chat related offenses. the other reason is it would actually force them to start dealing with the actual problem. trolls

: The truth is Riot gave Tyler a second chance. Only because he had a big following. You guys don't give second chances to other players who have been perma banned. This is why riot is by far the worse company. To publicly display such favoritism is unbelievable. I dont blame you for giving T1 a second chance, i blame you for not giving the other million + players a chance to reform! and get their account back in which they spend hundreds of dollars. Pathetic.

We dont want you coming back" if riot publicly takes this stance. Yet allows tyler to continue streaming. Even if he doesnt get his accounts. Thats incredibly hypocritical. And tells us that riot is unofficially encouraging toxic players to make new accounts and empty their wallets. Riot is just incredibly good at playing dumb

: What is your source that says that the vast majority of people who file reports are trolls?
Granted i can only use personal observation since riot refuses to collect any sort of data on this. But in my experience. Its roughly 5% people actually reporting for the right reasons 15% bait banning. 50% people salty after a loss. 30% safe spacers

YOU may report for that reason. But the vast majority of the people who report are either trolls deliberately trying to get people banned, people reporting not because they were annoyed or offended. But because they lost and want to take it out on someone. Or your run of the mill vagina hat wearing snowflake who has no business on the internet period. Since riot judges whats considered toxic based on what the community reports. Petty reporting and trolls have artificially lowered the threshold of punishable behavior. A fact riot ignores
: My first experience with ping spam was from a duo. They teamed up to make my game miserable and in addition to everything else they would spam ? together all over my screen. With throttling they would still be able to take turns. And, much like with mute all, I feel like if someone has had so many bad experiences with ping spam that they're just muting from the beginning letting them do that will provide better game play. Rather than waiting for it to happen they can just concentrate on the game. Probably paying better attention to the minimap honestly. Forcing people to deal with something they'd rather not deal with is only going to result in people not playing.

This is going to sound heartless. But i have very little sympathy for people who fullmute all at the start of the game. Just like you dont want to deal with toxicity or spam. I dont want to deal with noncommunicative players
: Hahaha, no. If your pings are getting muted you were not using them correctly. I've been on the receiving end of ping spam and muting that was a better game play option. It's better to have no communication than bad or disruptive communication.

I've been on the receiving end of ping spam and muting that was a better game play option. It's better to have no communication than bad or disruptive communication. how about a compromise. change ping muting to ping throttling. this would prevent spam. but leave legitimate communication open because in my experience. that isnt always the case. just like mute all. a good chunk of the playerbase mutes pings at the start of the game regardless of whether theyre being abused
: I'm bronze. Haven't done placements this year, but I'm bronze. I mute all for two reasons: 1. An anti-tilt measure. I've had enough bad teams to know what can happen if something goes wrong. If I do something incredibly stupid I mute all to keep myself from obsessing over the chat and any potential flames. Doesn't matter if they're actually going to happen or not, they have happened in the past and that's enough to make me anxious. Mute all means that I can focus on not doing something that incredibly stupid again and not worry about what my team mates may be saying. Because mental health is fun. 2. It's quicker than an individual mute when I'm busy focusing on the game. Someone needs to be muted and it's the fastest way to do it. End of the day there is nothing someone can say in the chat that they can't convey with pings as far as shotcalling goes at my level.
> [{quoted}](name=swordofsun,realm=NA,application-id=ZGEFLEUQ,discussion-id=nmWbYkfQ,comment-id=0007,timestamp=2018-02-16T15:52:16.711+0000) > > I'm bronze. Except you can mute pings now too. And since mutes are private. You have no way of knowing someone has you ping muted. Imo. Ping muting should be disabled completly in ranked

: FIX THE FUCKING MASTERY BUG PLEASE
Apologies for the heated response. However there is a bug in champ select that displays having selected the 1st rune page. But instead has the last runes you entered a match. Its caused me to take the wrong masteries on multiple occasions as {{champion:27}}. When you open the runes tab. It displays a checkmark next to both pages. The reason i began cursing was because this hasnt been fixed since new runes were released

: People who play LOL are the same people you see every day - they are neither more nor less "toxic" than anybody else. The reasons they react in a toxic way while playing LOL are quite simple: (a) you get stuck with trolls / feeders on your team, who don't take the match as serious as you do, and they ruin your team's chances... (b) you get boosters / smurfs on the enemy team, who are simply that much better than you are, that they ruin your team's chances of winning (c) there is NOTHING you can do about either. You are stuck, for at least 20 minutes, with (a) or (b) - you cannot leave (Riot bans your account), you cannot complain (Riot bans your account), you cannot punch them in the face (obviously... it's an online game) - all things you could EASILY do in a football / basketball / any other team sports court where you are physically present. Simple. Has nothing to do with the people who play LOL, only with the system around it. Solutions are ALSO quite simple, however, they will make the game less addictive (i.e. "less money"), so they are not implemented.

Blizzard may give you temp bans from 1 day to 1 year, etc. But Riot is not afraid to perm ban your account.

: Coming off a 14-day ban, you are told that your next punishment will be a permament ban. Spending a game chastising your teammates for low scores, poor play, and blaming the game on them -- even if they are feeding intentionally -- is not acceptable behavior. Playing Lux jungle is fine. Constant negativity targetted at members of your team is not.
