: I don't think assassins should be like Shaco, if anything I think Shaco needs a rework. The reason why Shaco isn't played a lot is because he's extremely difficult to master and requires you to not fuck up ever. EDIT: here come the downvotes because everyone here wants assassins to be garbage tier like shaco.

Shaco mains are a cult, if they make him into anything contrary to what he is now, it's going to be a Veigar/Karma/Malzahar meltdown x8.

: He's pretty great. Has some overloaded abilities, but they serve their thematic purpose REALLY well. Plus they haven't presented a major problem outside of urf in ages.

I fear the day -- no pun intended -- when Riot decides to rework him. If they gut him, I'm out of here, lol.
: Shaco's W is usually only a response toward enemy aggression. That alone makes him a less-than-desirable assassin. I feel like an assassin shouldn't have to wait for an enemy to do something to be able to use his full kit.
An assassin could also stalk his or her prey before going in. I don't really agree with that. I think his boxes are extremely fun, cutting off enemies, turning the tides of a duel, and a useful ward.

: Is Shaco the perfect idea of what an assassin should be?
I don't understand why people say that Shaco goes in and dies. Usually, when I go in, I obviously focus the ADC. If I'm confident with my damage, I'm also sure that I will kill him/her. After evaporating their ADC, and realizing they've just lost their major source of damage, I pop my ult to confuse whoever jumps on me. By the time this happens, my Q is already up & my team has followed up. I understand where Shaco does die in teamfights but that rarely happens due to the time your ult buys you. You just need to know how vulnerable you are.

: Shaco's Clone should get some of the AI improvements that Tibbers saw
I do feel like Shaco deserves AI improvements with his ultimate however that is all.
: Hey, is there any news on the shaco changes?
According to the latest, any work on him was put aside. However, I think they have plans for him when the assassin update rolls out. I GENUINELY hope they don't touch Deceive (Q). His boxes are so iconic, too. I can't imagine what they'd do to him, really. He has a strong identity that is difficult to shift. They'll maybe change his E and tweak his stats. Maybe some box changes, too.
: I fail to understand what you are complaining about.
The fact that they intentionally cheapened the champion with horrible arts? What was the point of changing the Asylum Shaco splash? Royal Shaco? Even Workshop Shaco was fine. The one worth reworking was Mad Hatter shaco, and even that, they just made it worse.

: I'm worried about Shaco
Can we get a red post? He's one of the oldest champions. I think he deserves some red post treatment.

From Meddler: "Nothing currently underway. I expect we'll take a look at Shaco to see what can be done if we end up picking assassins as the end of year class update. He's got a lot of game health and counterplay issues, he does some really cool and distincitve stuff too though that matches his thematic extremely well so I think he's potentially a really high value project. Even if we do look at assassins at the end of year though (far from guaranteed yet) there's some risk that he turns out to be too big a project to be done properly within the small to medium sized changes of a class update." Uhm... to big of a project? What exactly is being touched? It's been driving me crazy. i just want to make sure that they don't gut him, anyone but Shaco.

Bump. With the assassin update nearing, I'm bumping this thread. Please don't gut him, Rito. {{item:3070}}

That's not Asylum Shaco's splash anymore, Rito. You ruined it with the new one. https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-an23y76FiOc/VwQKBt7JckI/AAAAAAAAM_k/caNj6hiYPeweCuHku5j3FvPvsGe_Rtffw/s1600/Shaco_Splash_5.jpg

: >Because being unable to move for 3+ seconds _cough {{champion:412}} cough_ is op and must be stopped. _cough {{champion:89}} cough {{champion:25}} cough_
You realize that you guys are comparing supports to mages, right? Mages shouldn't have that much utility to begin with.
: Friendly reminder that Fiddlesticks is getting nerfed
Thematically: A living scarecrow would usually sit still then attack someone; pretending to act intimate. This is a common "scarecrow" convention, they're usually still, consciously creeping the crops until ready. This has a lot of synergy with his jungle & drain. The fact that you only mentioned crowstorm is stupid, he's literally still while draining, making it possible to catch up to the fleeing enemy. The drain isn't a nerf, it's just an adjustment. Usually, you don't drain enemy champions long enough before the flee. What would happen to you if you began to drain and then suddenly got stunned? The cooldown would be even longer than 3 seconds. It's helpful, sometimes. Please don't talk about his E being insignificant. PLease. A 7 bounce silence? ...... Embarrassing thread.

: So...does everyone think Aurelion Sol is awful?
Hey, fellow Bard main & Aurelion Sol exhibitionist here. Similar to Bard, you need to play Aurelion Sol knowing that your damage output is situational. He's very special in the way that his hit revolves around (no pun intended) knowing your enemy's mobility; he completely destroys champions who can't speed up/dash often. Example: Again, a {{champion:92}} completely destroys Aurelion Sol. This is only because she can go in, stop your stars, shield, go out, and repeat. This leaves you with missing health and her's full. However, a champion with {{champion:10}}'s level of mobility is easy food for Sol. The enemy's speed is irrelevant to Aurelion, it's gap closers where the enemy can get in and out that are problematic. I think the problem with most Aurelion Sol players is that they're hesitant to use his (W) often. Use your W to poke, use your W to farm, use your W for _everything._ You'd be surprised that it doesn't use much mana at all -- it's not a Karthus E. I usually push the lane HARD with my W until they're stuck on their turret for a bit. I then ping either top/bot and gank constantly; flying over wards/walls/camps makes this extremely easy. His mobility could get him from mid to bot in a couple of seconds. When I see my lane pushing, I go back, clear, and repeat this. Your lane won't begin roaming either due to precious farm being eaten up by the turret. He has major potential. A tank aurelion sol LATE game is terrifying. Anyone who thinks Aurelion Sol is garbage hasn't seen a good one yet.

: why are you scared to play ranked? just treat it like normals or are you just scared to realize that you may be where you belong?
No. There's a different attitude between norms/ranked. In normals you can play experimental, play champions you never played, and attempt different techniques. Ranked is solely based on winning, people are a lot more uptight, and there's no room for something different. Plus, everyone is jumping on FOTM champions which are annoying to play against. Ranked and Normals are very different. Some people just want to play league for sport.

: Yeah champions like {{champion:429}} and {{champion:64}} get a lot of heat when they're really not OP. I don't know why, but the community decides to pick a few specific champions and bash them every thread. Sure, Lee may have been a bit of a problem last year, but the new jungle is doing him in. Kalista is fairly well balanced
I don't care if they're strong or not. Lee sin can kick me as many times as he may like & Kalista may lunge as many spears into me but you should not be focusing the support to begin with. Unless it's {{champion:17}} support.
