: I believe the system shouldn't be based on wins and losses what it should be based on is performance. Because in my experience a good team will still carry you to a win, but if you're scoring B's and C's the whole time you shouldn't be rewarded for your sh*t performance. What they should do instead is base elo strictly on performance. Here's how it would work. You would start in placements and you would get your 10 games based on how you perform in those games, win or lose you would be placed with people who perform very closely to the way you do. And from there you play with people of the same performance the entire time, now of course that would mean that terrible players would only get put with terrible players but on the bright side that's all they would ever play with because the only people in their elo would be equally as terrible as they are, and the same with decent players. This would work out pretty well because the people who are bad would be incentivised to improve to get out of "elo hell". And everyone else wouldn't be stuck with the trash of the world trying to carry them.

You'd have good "performance" but in reality you threw the game.
