: smurfing is actually a pretty shitty thing to do and I've always said so, more people agree now How much of a dick do you have to be to intentionally go into a lower ELO, gimping yourself of XP rewards in the process, just to get a free stomp game.. why? because you're not good enough? It's like getting drunk and fighting people weaker than you when you have six friends on your side, it's actually a dick thing to do and is very fucking unsportsmanlike

People on alts aren't going to get placed into their own division, they have to climb up to their own skill level. I don't understand why so many people complain about it in the first place, a majority of your games don't have alts/smurfs in them anyways and if they do then it's a 50/50 if they're on your team or the enemy team. Yes I agree if people are just making smurfs to faceroll lower skilled players that's really uncool and unsportsmanlike but the fact is most of the "smurfs" aren't doing that and the account will be out of that rank in not so long of a time.

: No idea how accurate LoLSumo is, but most of my wins will say plat/diamond performance. I've even gotten it to say Master a few times. Some of my losses usually say Silver when the enemy team absolutely crushed us, but I get gold/plat/diamond performances even on defeat when I played the best I could. We deserve to be in this elo for not being able to 1 v 9? Makes no sense to me in a team game.

We deserve to be in this elo for not being able to 1 v 9? Makes no sense to me in a team game. I've never used it, but judging by your op.gg I'd have to say LoLSumo isn't all that accurate, I'm not trying to be an asshole but you have around 400 games and a 49% winrate you are 100% doing lots of incorrect things. Just based on stats alone, your average cs is okay and your average deaths really aren't bad and your most played champ makes up for 1/4 of your champions played and the rest are all like 20 or less games. If you're struggling to climb you should pick one champion and one trick it, it will help you a lot with learning the game. And you really don't have to 1v9 to win games or to carry games, like I said literally just knowing wave manipulation farming well and back timings are actually ridiculously important. I went from never playing more than like 30 games of ranked a season and on and off maining different champs/roles to one tricking rakan/support last season and went from b1-p4 with a 65% wr in under 200 games and I still don't consider myself to be very good. You will never be able to change what other people do, you can ping them and shotcall but in the end you can only control your champion, so focus on your own mistakes and play and go from there. I wish you the best of luck in your games, and hope you can achieve your ranked goals! GLHF

You're also using an extreme, I'm not saying people aren't challenger because they're bad I'm saying they are silver because they are. Damn bro you should get a mental evaluation or something LOL Also yeah you're gonna have some unlucky games it happens, some people may be unluckier than others if that's you sorry man that sucks. But you have to realize that if you are good enough to climb you will with enough games even if you've had a ridiculously unlucky streak. Elo Hell or simply just peoples teams/smurfs holding them back from their "true elo" is just incorrect. It's wrong. The fact that boosting exists proves that it's wrong, people don't pay other players to get lucky on their accounts, they pay them to win and those players win because they are better than the owner of the account not because they're luckier.
: Hey man, I didn’t even downvote you, in all honesty I couldn’t upvote you though either. I was just pickin on your over exaggeration.{{sticker:slayer-jinx-wink}} I think you’re mostly right, a gold player deserves gold because they got better, a plat player deserves plat, diamond-diamond etc... however there is an aspect of luck you need to account for. You can still play around bad teammates weather they just play poorly or are toxic, but it’s decided to luck on weather or not you’re teamed up with them, and with league being a team game it’s something that tends to boil player tempers.

It wasn't an exaggeration at the time 500 people had viewed the thread, but nobody had said anything relevant to the post, but a few people just downvoted and left is what i was trying to say. I didn't write that out as well as I could have, my bad. And yeah there is always going to be some luck, but after a certain point it's not exactly luck a large majority of the time because as long as you are better than the elo you're in then it's above a 50/50 chance that you'll will on average. Yes some people get really unlucky, but no the amount of people I see daily complaining about their teams/smurfs are not that unlucky.
: Is it a problem to be maining adc? Are there champion specifics needed to climb out of each elo? At least say tips and not blatantly say us individuals need to improve more and that you are a better player. Recently, I've gotten the highest I've been at S2, but win rate tanked when I was paired with people who were even remotely toxic which just made the game League of Chat, instead of playing. I try to talk as little as possible and do my best to keep cool. But that's a psychological thing there. Staying cool when someone is pissed just makes therm more pissed. It's as if they NEED to be flamed by someone. I don't. I want keys, so I know to not flame. I've been maining {{champion:145}}. She fits my playstyle as an adc and has outplay potential I like out of a squishy carry champion. I'm decent at most other champions, but not perfect enough to carry every game in my elo. I don't know what to do when behind especially and my team wants to non stop group against a team comp we can't fight 5 v 5. Don't even say dodge. That shows lack of skill right there. You can't carry against a certain comp, so you back out? People that dodge to preserve win rate are straight up boosted imo. I may be wrong, but that's how I view it.

Some of the best players in the game advocate for dodging games they don't think they can win, so it's a legitimate thing to suggest tbh. I don't know about you but I'd rather lose 3 lp and wait for 5 minutes than lose like 20 and also 20-60 minutes. Anyways I don't think it matters what role you play, and more or less what champions. One tricking is extremely helpful to climbing, and learning minion manipulation and proper back timings can be HUGE as far as climbing. Those 2 things alone can take you from silver to plat.

The fact that Boosting exists just disproves the entire idea of peoples teams/luck holding them back. People don't pay other players to get lucky on their accounts they pay them because they're better so they will win the games the owner of said account could not win and get the account to a rank the owner could not achieve.

If the people who complain about being stuck in their ranks because of their teams, either they haven't played enough games and were unlucky in their short amount of games or need to get better to climb higher than they currently are.

: Elo hell exists. Did a duo game once and team wanted to ff at 15. Me and duo ofc didn't want to give up our LP so easily and were doing the best on the team, so the other three all just left the game. Can the highest ranking players even carry a 2 v 5 when the enemy team has so much more gold from teammates tanking their lane and feeding until they rage quit? Unranked to challenger accounts don't even make sense. They don't start at the bottom and climb up. I heard they at least start in Gold. Watched BunnyFuFuu play his Thresh in Bronze and even though his mechanics were godly, he lost from an afk. Solo Q hardly makes sense half of the time. Expecting one person to 1 v 9 pretty much unless rng matchmaking pairs them with competent teammates that don't all rage quit 4 deaths in. So many issues with the ranking system.

: its sad to see people downvote this because they think elo hell is an actual thing. i went from bronze 5 to gold 1 with barely any problems solo carrying last season

Like I said previously if boosting is a thing how is elo hell a thing? It actually makes no sense.
: Yeah its almost like you're just spouting the same crap that everyone spouts even though well known masters pros have said they don't do unranked to challenger runs because elo hell is absolutely a thing and some games are completely unwinnable in silver, and you can absolutely tank entire runs of unranked to challenger by getting stuck in...elo hell. Its almost like people are tired of this "hot take" from platinum players trying to act like old sages, so they just downvote and move on because talking about it clearly doesn't convince anyone. You have no experience in what you're talking about and no matter how many times people tell you that they played 10 games today all with someone with "smurf" in the title trolling their 1/15 mid laner you won't listen because you're determined to at least SOUND smart if you can't play smart enough to get into masters. Why even make this post besides to whine about people inevitably downvoting it lol. Also is one of the tip screens when you're hard stuck Platinum 3 or below "try making a post on the forums shitting on people because you think anecdotes of your experience are everyone's experience?" Sure seems like it.

Also is one of the tip screens when you're hard stuck Platinum 3 or below "try making a post on the forums shitting on people because you think anecdotes of your experience are everyone's experience?" Sure seems like it. Except it's not crap. It's facts. And the only place any pros ever get even remotely "stuck" in is diamond. And they are never stuck for very long and it happens less than 50% of the time. So I mean, yeah you're right "elo hell" definitely not just some unlucky games and sometimes a little tilt. And I mean it's fine that people downvote it, just annoying that so many people just whine about how hard silver/gold is when it's not and absolutely refuse to accept the fact that they are the reason they're silver. And you think I haven't had trolls/inters/smurfs in my games? If you think that you're actually delusional, and I listen to all these people they're just delusional aswell if they think that their teams are really the reason they're in silver with 500 games. I would bet the rest of the money I would make in my life that if an actual good player was in place of said silver player for all 500 games at least 20% more of the games would have been won.
: No I was never stuck in bronze I did placements in season 5 and got bronze and last season my 8/2 placements got me bronze 5 because you can't go higher than your previous rank

: if you are barely a gold player, but should be in gold, chances are you will not make it to gold. There lies the problem with ranked system. RNG.
except literally anyone can be gold because gold is barely knowing anything at all about how the game actually works and requires little to no mechanical skill.
: OP you are kinda right and Wrong. Bronze is filled with people who are not mechanically there so you end up being able to stomp through it. Silver on the otherhand feels like its hard to tell who should be lower or higher. That is because fresh players by default are set to silver rank. What that means is Smurfs/veteran players are steamrolling through new players and you are at the mercy of RNG as to hoping you do not get new players on your team. That create games where you go on massive losing streaks when you are doing well each game or massive winning streaks even when you felt like you didn't do much. The Silver problem got increased 10 fold when they changed the game to make it more team focused where as in previous seasons hyper carrying was much easier to do. Now its like even if you are head if bot lane loses too hard you are pretty much out of luck. I mean even Riot is aware of this thats why they are trying things like changing shutdown gold to from team to the person who shut them down, so they can snowball. In summary, yea Elo Hell kinda exists in Silver because it is a mixed bag of various skilled players rather than a static set skill level. i mean i can have games where no one dies more than 3 times and games where everyone but me dies more than 15 times.
RNG is on average 50/50 so if you're better than silver it will be above 50/50 on average. I do not consider myself a good player, and the only time I've ever been even close to being "stuck" in silver was when I had a shit mentality and looked at what my teammates did wrong instead of looking at my own mistakes. That's not to say you can't get flustered or upset at their mistakes, you just have to realize that you're not perfect and no matter how many times I tell people this and they say "I know that" t hey really don't because nothing about their mentality changes.
: I'd like to see you do this in Silver. Bronze is nothing.
The same guy who did the TF account did this with smite proxy tryndamere top lane from b5 to d5 with a nearly 70% winrate. So I mean. (Has decayed dowm to plat1 now) http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=Neace+numba+1

Hm. Maybe. But it depends. You cannot play Braum and expect to carry every match. This will not work imho, even not in bronze. For other elo´s it depends on the amount of matches someone plays. The 10 are nearly nothing, correct. And so maybe let´s say 30 are not enough. Just for me as an example. After placing matches I was Bronze1. I needed 50 matches to get Silver3 and some up´s und down´s later with so called "unwinnable" matches it needed another 65 Matches to get Silver3. So altogether there were 115 matches to climb out of bronze1 to silver3. I am quite sure that this is not the end.... but.... woah.... my teams... There was a losing-streak in Silver4 of 5 matches and you can believe me that there were nothing to do left there. I oscillated between S4 and S5 several times before I got a winning streak of 14 matches out of 18. And so are actually my teams most often trash. As it needed 65 matches for Silver3 I think it could need same amount or more (depending on luck) to get Silver2. So - TL:DR ..... : even if someone is better then his actual elo it depends well on the amount of matches/time spent to climb. So I can understand that some of the players think there is an elo hell. It´s not really "untrue".
http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=3+card+deal This account was taken from bronze 5 to bronze 1 promos with only 2 losses and 43 games playing Twisted Fate. The age old argument that support isn't a carry role when in my opinion it's one of the easiest roles to climb in. I went from b1 to p4 last season in 150ish games with a 65% wr one tricking rakan and I'm not even a good player. Yes it does depend on the amount of games, but it also depends on HOW MUCH better than the elo you are.
: I think there is a legitimate greviance with MMR though I don't thinke "elo Hell" as most would put it is quite accurate but there are points in ranked where things get fucky I think silver is unfair sometimes on both ends, it always feels like a stomp or getting stomped plus it's home of all the starting smurfs and sinking stones then there are those players who actually are just a bit better than where they're at, they can't really be expected to carry as hard as someone who's miles ahead
If you're barely better it will take a lot more games which can suck, but I promise if you deserve to get promoted out of it you will eventually. Even if you play one game a day that's 364 games a year. You might demote every once and a while too but that's all part of it. Yes there will be some really unlucky games but there will also be some very lucky games too people just tend to remember the games where the enemy riven goes 40/0 then when their own does.

: You're actually calling me stupid while calling point and click abilities skillshots lmfao I'm sorry that you literally can't handle the fact that you're not good at league of legends and have absolutely no idea how to play it even somewhat properly, but stop spewing bullshit and acting like you have ANY IDEA what you're talking about. Goodluck climbing with your shit mentality. Pce
Also if smurfs are the reason you can't get out of bronze, then why is boosting OR smurfing a thing at all? Boosters and smurfs are better than the people they play against in the lower elos, if you were better as well you would be able to win more games and climb. Proof that if you're better than your elo by a lot you will win almost every game: http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=3+card+deal (that is not my account, just proof against peoples delusions that their teams make them lose)
: {{champion:9}} } (Q)Fear and (E)Silence.} You are very abruptly stupid.

: I have played against smurfs, it sucks to lose to them yeah. But instead of whining about it why not try to learn from it? Those players are OBVIOUSLY better than you. So why not learn off of some of the things they do and try to improve? Your mentality for climbing is awful and until it's fixed you're not going to climb. And good for you, you know what qss does? My level 10 friend knows what qss does that doesn't mean he's good at the game.
Also fiddlesticks doesn't have any skillshots LOL but hey you know everything about the game, right?

: Smurf accounts are killing people mental state literally.
If you are stuck in any rank it is your fault. There is no "elo hell", your team is not holding you back, and smurfs are not holding you back. When you realize that YOU are the reason you are stuck in a certain elo you can begin to ACTUALLY take in information and learn it to improve. I don't care if you can only play 1 game a day or less that is no excuse to be in B5 either. If you are stuck in B5 you know next to nothing about the game at all, and I'm not meaning this in a mean way or trying to hurt you feelings. It's a fact. So if you genuinely care about climbing stop blaming anything other than yourself.
