The goals for the initial changelist were pretty simple, if a Janna wants to win lane, she has to interact and engage with her lane opponents in ways she didn’t have to before. We wanted to make playing as Janna feel more rewarding when played well while giving her opponents the opportunity to actually outplay her in lane, instead of just watching her sitting behind her ADC and shielding their way through lane. > > Before shipping, we took the deliberate approach of not over nerfing Janna considering that we were working on reshaping Ardent Censer in parallel to her kit changes. We judged that a world where both her and the item were nerfed substantially to be a worse world, and planned our changes to that. At the end of the day, we concluded that she had the potential to be strong on release, but firmly believed that when properly tuned, the direction of this new play pattern would result in a Janna that was healthier for League. In light of that, we made plans to quickly follow up based on her day one metrics if need be, which is why we’ve pushed out our balance hotfix to her today. We’ll also continue to be pay attention to both to her and Ardent Censer closely for the new few weeks. > > Ultimately, with how hot of a topic Janna has been recently, you might be wondering why we didn’t just hold off on Janna for another patch, or why we shipped her like this. To us, it felt more valuable to put a change out we were far happier with directionally than leave her in her current state for another two weeks. It’s important to note that the extra time of internal playtesting likely wouldn’t have resulted in a drastic increase in confidence in this changelist, especially not when compared to the millions of games we can get from around the world in a matter of hours once we go Live. So, if you’re a Janna main (or enthusiast, or someone who just bopped her in lane), feel free to let us know what you think about her changes! > > The changes that we shipped an hour and a half ago: > > **Base Stats** > Base Movement Speed :: 335 >>> 320 > Base Health :: 525 >>> 500 > Base Mana :: 409.52 >>> 350 > > **Zephyr (W)** > Cost :: 40/50/60/70/80 >>> 50/60/70/80/90 Agree with Janna Mechanics. Seems weird you keep hitting her damage (by nerfing her MS again, you're now nerfing her damage and her "shtick" of being the "fast" champion) when the main issue seems to be her passive combined with Ancient Coin. It's granting Janna's allies ~20% bonus move speed for Janna just existing. That is a ridiculous amount of invisible power that should be allocated elsewhere. I'd like this power budget to be allocated to her offensive or playmaking parts of her kit. Coin in general is still way too strong in comparison to frost queen's and relic shield. Far better rewards (more gold, better passive) for far less risk. I'd suggest talking with some high elo support mains at Riot like Jinxylord to get an idea on how best to approach coin going forward. I'd like to see Janna's shield duration looked at as well (and perhaps every shield support). A shorter length shield better rewards a well timed shield. It might be also worth nerfing her late game shield length. Something like 16-15-14-13-12 might be more appropriate for her shield CD, so that Janna still does need to make meaningful shield decisions late game. With 45% CDR, shield has effectively no cooldown late game. That's a huge part of her problem, to be honest. I'd also caution over-nerfing her right away. People need time to figure out that Janna needs to be punished early game now, where she is exceedingly weaker in lane. I also do think that having dialogue with the community would be good... You were pretty much silent until now about the Janna changes, and there was a lot of useful feedback that could have been collected from Janna mains on how to best approach her.
I'm a Janna main and I do agree that her "schtick" does feel somewhat diminished now. I'm actually not too fussed about the other changes, other than the ridiculous cd on her shield now. I would have much rather a nerf to hp / ad on her shield than her cd because i only use sheild as a tactical poking mechanism. i max w, which is mostly unexpected from a Janna and does the interesting thing of making her play differently and more aggressively. The changes to her q are nice, but in my opinion not needed XD although I am comfortable with the old Janna. I think the only thing that made her more interesting and palpable was her w changes! >_< but thats just me and my weird ways of playing her speaking :P I can't say anything on behalf of the way she is "supposed" to be played

You can Baron, you will get stronger over time because you can base to get items, etc. Stalling a game out when you're behind is usually step one in making a comeback -- it doesn't mean you'll succeed at stalling the game out. Here, that red team had no answer because of the restrictions of the mode. The blue team was basically griefing, which is reportable and bannable. It's like playing Vandal Hearts (PSX) and having the Vandalier. You can stand there and spam a spell twice every three turns that hits the whole map and win without ever having to move. When your mana runs low, you simply pop a Life Orb (for free, unlimited) that restores you to full. The enemy has no counter to it, there's not a damn thing they can do. Imagine having to fight that on SR, like that Xerath bug that was around a little while back where he spammed Q in base at a certain point and hit players at ridiculous distances on the map. Just because you CAN do it doesn't make it right or fair. You do that against bots? Fine, it's bots/AI. No one's going to really care. Doing that same thing against other humans is simply wrong and dishonorable. Period.

Yes but you also run into the problem that it wasn't a bug or glitch of the game they were exploiting, it was the entire idea of the gamemode. Rito intentionally made it so you couldn't buy until you died, so it's literally a strategy for the game. It's a really ANNOYING strategy for the enemy team, but a compliant one within the boundaries of the game. Do you report an enemy champion for out thinking you in an SR game? Or an entire team? The idea of the game is to win; how you do it is entirely up to your own thinking.

: > Do you ever consider putting back the silly into certain champs. Like the old AP Miss Fortune? Or the old ADC Taric? I think about things like that sometimes, and try to do it where possible, but it's always important to make sure to do it in a way that doesn't compromise the balance of the champion. Using this example, AP Support Miss Fortune is actually somewhat a thing at the moment, so you can see how buffing fun off builds might inadvertently cause issues.
Ever thought about doing it on any of the old champs? Or at least bottom of the rung least played champs? To give them that little bit of diversity? I'm not saying it should be done to every champ, but some are more fun to play both ways than others XD

: Here's a post where you can ask questions about the stuff I've worked on, and I'll try to answer.
Do you ever consider putting back the silly into certain champs. Like the old AP Miss Fortune? Or the old ADC Taric? That's one thing I miss about all the reworked champs and "balanced" champs. The ability to play them the opposite of what their intended for. I know Rito is trying their best to make the game a balanced and decisive game, but I play this for the fun of it, not for the refinement.
: > But anyway, do you guys feel Quinn is too strong? I've loved playing her since her rework but some people seem to thing she's still OP? She seems like she's on the strong side, but hopefully not by an excessive amount. I wouldn't be surprised if the balance team wanted to nerf her in a few patches if she manages to rise to the top again. > Can we expect taric soon, soonTM, or still a ways off? Don't really expect this to get answered. Really depends how long these timer intervals are. I'm going to go with "Soon," since it's all but guaranteed that he's the next full size Champion Update we're going to deliver. > What are some immobile mages you personally think need work (not necessarily ones you'll work on) Malzahar because I think he's a lot cooler thematically than his gameplay lets him be. Swain because I think he's generally just a mess. Zyra because I think there are tons of opportunities to do cool things with her. Cassiopeia because I'd want a chance to get her some of her poison identity back.
> She seems like she's on the strong side, but hopefully not by an excessive amount. DONT LISTEN TO THEM D: THAT'S ALL THE VAYNE PLAYERS TALKING BECAUSE THEY HATE QUINN'S BLIND XD

: It's the sort of thing where it really needs to appear as part of a champion's kit, rather than as an item or mastery or something. If it's part of something that anyone can take whenever there's someone who can deal significant true damage on the enemy team, that's pretty bad design. If it's a champion's innate ability, however? Not only does that significantly alter how you use it to counter an enemy ( during drafting vs just anytime, really ), but it also means that it doesn't have to be balanced around hundreds of users, just one. And while it could easily become abusive on some sort of diving fighter, on some sort of champion that is based mostly around soaking damage it doesn't have as much potential to be busted and would add a champion for that class that could actually deal with, for example, Vayne or Fiora. It's also worth noting the difference between having your true damage suddenly be reduced on, say, a Jax because he picked up an item to counter it, and having your true damage just be reduced on this guy in oversized, glittering armor from minute 1. Not only does he read far more able to take damage than whatever the heck Jax is, but you can clearly see the reduction of damage the first time you hit him with true damage - and that will remain consistent throughout not only the game, but also all games you play with that guy on the enemy team.
Yes but isn't the idea of draft mode to have counter picks? Picking a Taric first up will force the enemy team to either move away from common champion slaughterers such as Jax and Vayne and start picking back into those good old champs that no one plays anymore BECAUSE of the true damage popularity?
: > What can we expect from the Taric update? A lot of the same things he always has contributed. And situationally the strongest spell in League of Legends.
Is AD brawler Taric ever going to make a reappearance? ^_^{{champion:44}}
: Fioras w and sions r is different because sions r doesn't canceled Fiora just avoids the knock up.
true, but if you see it in action, sions ulti should terminate as an aoe. when he hits fiora's w, literally nothing happens, he just stops. I can understand fiora not taking damage or the cc, but to sion, shouldn't it be like hitting an object like a wall?

: Pathing Issues
The first one is due to the fact champions no longer have a "buffer" zone around them. They used to have a %15 collision buffer around them. This is why minions seems to be making more of these impregnable walls. The second one, I experience it all the time, and it has killed me many a time too -_-

: FPS Drops since Patch
I've had this problem quite a lot too, but for much longer. I tried 2 things to solve it, both worked reasonably for me. 1. Is go to your graphics card settings and change the 3D physics settings to "let the application decide" 2. Is set the affinity of the game from task manager. Unfortunately this one is not a long term fix because you have to change the affinity every time you load the application. There will be different methods for setting affinity for different OS's, but I do know the Windows 7 way and can tell you. Open up task manager Locate leagueoflegends.exe and right click on it select "set affinity" uncheck all the boxes and only select 2 or 3. What this does is forces your league client to only use 2 or 3 of your cpu's instead of the multitude you have. It makes processing data for the application more fluid and removes the jitters and frame rate drops you might experience during your game. It does not harm your computer, so if it doesn't work for you, don't worry, its not permanent it will revert to normal when you close the application. Hopefully something will work for you!

: Care to explain why this bug is still not fixed?
I notice it on my deathscreen a lot. like Big Bad Doge said, the only way is to click, hold and drag on the minimap to unlock. It's not an obvious fix that everyone knows, so yes, Rito should do something about it
: This can make her an awesome assassin though xD
It really doesnt :( most quinns will rely on the aoe damage her ulti does when its finished to give the final blow. it really makes you suffer, especially without the movement speed
: [GAMEPLAY] Yorick makes Quinn respawn as Valor permanently and unable to revert.
I've just first hand experienced this bug. It's awful being the quinn, not only do you loose the movement speed you lose the attack speed from w and your auto's become very glitchy. someone has recorded it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KcMy1ob3KQ
