: Swain's a hero
Evelynn is a hero Seriously. She loves to surround herself with happy people that make her feel better and not only that but she is a really charming person. Very charismatic. She always gets what she wants, she's a feminist icon. That's all I had to say, thank you.

: What champions have their appearance mentioned by another?
"Saijax was the beating heart of the Kohari, a shaven-headed giant with skin pockmarked by the ravages of a childhood illness, and a forked beard stiffened to points with wax and white chalk."

: Zilean and Jax need a slight VO to adept their lore
Agreed! But the chance of them getting a VO is slim. Riot has already shown neglect for actually updating champions who need them.

: I think it was actually explained in the champion insight, that users of shadow magic get white markings on their body once they master the shadow magic and that the reason why Shadow Assassin Kayn is so pale is because his body is simply covered in those markings.
Something I forgot to add in the post is the it's unclear if Kayn will even survive even *if* he conquered Rhaast. He wouldn't have any other choice but to fashion a new body through Shadow and Blood magic.

: So any hints to what this years ultimate skin is gonna be?
: Comparing apples to pears a bit? The hosts are ultimately more interesting as humans than the Darkin are individually (besides {{champion:266}} of course) They're bloodthirsty warlords that got locked up in weapons thats' really all we need to know. How many unique motivations for each individual Darkin does Riot need to make? Rhaast was Ascended he slayed some mortals, herded the rest like cattle, fought against his brethren, contributed to the near destruction society in Valoran and Shurima etc etc. They all kind of did the same thing back then. The interesting bit is how they influence their respective mortal hosts. If anything I'm more dissapointed the relationship between Kai, Valmar and Varus isn't explored in game via voicelines. Something Riot really needs to get on. As a rule going forward Darkin who directly control their hosts and destroy their consciousness will probably get the character development, while not so autonomous Darkin will be more interesting catalysts to start their mortal hosts down their own character arcs.
The entire point of the Darkin story is that they were once humans, then gods, now forsaken. When we learn of Varus we learn of him as a loyal human, when we learn of Aatrox we learn of him as an honorable hero. The thing about Darkin and Ascended in general are that they have mortal minds, but immortal bodies, their story is about the frailty of this and the tormenting abyss of pain. Kayn is the main focus of the champion I get it. But Varus is the main focus of his, not Kai and Valmar, they are secondary. Their character hinges on Varus as Rhaast does to Kayn. The point is these secondary characters are in conjunction with their primary "protagonist" and deserve equal treatment. I can easily argue that Kai and Valmar's stories are literally boring af without Varus as a character, because in essence they're just two gay hunters.... absolutely nothing compelling about them.

: People forget that this game is a MOBA and character design isnt reflected in models very well
On another note I can acknowledge that LoL wants to portray a character in their "prime" or rather portray them in a very appealing way especially when they can milk the Chinese for all that $$$. I think when we get the new game they will leave room for exploring character design in depth (if it will feature the characters we've come to know and love)

Well, Shurima definitely tried to do it, that's what I mean. (Extremely violently it seems)

: You kinda said it yourself, that might be a bit too akin to Kayn. I think he should have more of a Farmer's Hoe than a huge scythe. (As cool as a huge scythe would admittedly look)
Fiddlesticks being a harbinger of doom that inspires fear and terror needs to be communicated effectively in his design. Just because a champion has a similar tool, doesn't mean no other champion can ever have that tool also. Multiple champions have swords. Diana even has a form of a sickle, which a scythe is. Fiddle has always had the sickle, that doesn't make Kayn or Diana and less iconic. Kayn's weapon is very distinctive and there are a multitude of other designs that can differ and be iconic in their own way. Especially designs that invoke a sense of scarecrow horror

: Hah! Love this book. I read The King in Yellow cover-to-cover when I was still in high school, along with most of Lovecraft's library (ironically this is when I realized that Lovecraft was a terrible human being). The kind of horror I gravitate towards these days is many magnitudes more disturbing than "guy with a weird head" or "small yellow goblin man gets mauled to death by cat." Mostly revolving around human psychoses, but also liminal spaces, horrors of the natural world (versus eldritch, outer-space-horror), and plays on religious iconography/ritual that border on exaltation. Regardless, I have some ideas I'm playing with for Fiddle right now that I hope will surprise you in all the right ways (you pee a little). In my interview five years ago they asked what champion I wanted to write for the most. It was Fiddle then, and remains Fiddle now. I'm very excited.
Yeah wasn't he a racist? If you read into his work carefully you can definitely see it.. Lovecraft's work was so deeply iconic and great, but y'know, separate the art from the artist.

Well I just don't know, she didnt have much in her bio
: Question: How are you ranking these lores? Are you ranking them by what you see as quality, originality, how they fit the character, etc.? Or are these only to your personal tastes? I'm personally curious as to why you ranked Ashe so low and Katarina rather high. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just curious as to your reasons for doing so. I'd like to hear some of your opinions on this, if you don't mind.
Personal appeal with a bit of everything being taken into account. Ashe doesn't really resonate with her theme, but I enjoy Kat's complexity as a Noxian assassin.

Spirits are fueled by the concept and try to spread it like Janna, the various Yordles and Braum if he turns out to be one. > > Kindred IS death. Nagakabourous IS life. The aspect of Pantheon IS War. > > Saw a nice post that explains that Leonas' Aspect is actually Faith and Dianas' is Truth. Not the sun and the moon it was the Solari and the Lunari who interpreted them that way to suit their narrative. > > just my running theory based on some Rioter info and some high quality posts that Rioters seemed to encourage. Kindred is very clearly NOT an aspect, as the Aspects still hold a human form while kindred is half humanoid with Lamb. Maybe Kindred could be the a spirit of death, but death happens all over the world all the time, so I feel a spirit would have difficulty being everywhere at once. Their is also Lambs story to take into account, if Kindred was a spirit manifested as the Lamb and Wolf, why does Lamb reference a death as one becoming two if they were always two?
He's not saying Kindred are an Aspect, they're saying Kindred is *similar* to an Aspect in regards to the fact that Kindred is *literally* death and an Aspect is the literal manifestation of their particular force of governance. War, Truth, Protection etc. Kindred's appearance is dependant on the individual. But the essence of Kindred's "character" is not dependant on the individual. The force *is* death.
: Reav3 Will Pantheon stay left handed?
Pantheon, probably: *"My left arm is a lot stronger than my right arm"*
