: IMO Irelia looks much better in Phoenix than Awaken because it stuck to Jessica Oyhenart's splash.
I personally really loved how she looked in Awaken. She looked more distinctly Asian and it felt a lot more representative. Especially as someone who has similar features it was very nice to see.

: Zoe doesn't have a weapon. The Battle Academia lore has them receiving their powers from their God Weapons. So only people with weapons can join. It's like PROJECT mixed with Star Guardian.
It's already been said by the PM on the line that they don't require a weapon. I'm curious where this idea came from, cuz even alongside the skinlines release this was said.
: Because mages arent allowed to get qol changes.
Mages get QoL changes all the time. It's just that there is so fucking many of them it's hard to get to all of them.

: Quick Gameplay Thoughts: October 4
Generally whilst I feel like gameplay has been on the positive side, I really feel like visually {{champion:10}} missed the mark pretty significantly. Shifting from her old design, and with the new frankly lower quality splash, it's hard to view her as the Justice bent half-deity type. Instead she kinda just looks like a chick in spandex.
: I ceaselessly pitch this every couple of months. Please keep me, Carnival Knights, in your thoughts as I attempt to annoy the skin team into it.
It's kinda weird how often we seem to hear Rioters saying how much they would love for certain skins to be made for not the top-15 champs and they always get shot down. Yet it's been shown in cases like Corgi Corki they can sell well? Just seems weird how it seems Rioters need to prove themselves after so many successes.
: You might find the short story, Aftermath, somewhat interesting - it really focuses on Xin Zhao during the current Demacian upheaval. https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/story/xinzhao-aftermath-story/

{{champion:429}} Kalista having a whole stat locked behind people knocked up with her R is an absolutely terrible idea. Outside of Duo's I have absolutely NO control over how often that can be achieved. Sure I can ult my sup but there is NEVER a guarantee they will do what I need them to if we're not in a duo. It's not going to work or lead to many satisfying moments.

: It wouldve worked every bit as well for Morgana and Kayle _without_ compromising older lore.
Personally I kind of disagree here. Kayle and Morgana's whole deal is their dichotomy in their ideals, but core similarities. They both believe in the same thing but deal with it in opposite ways. On top of that a sister sacrificing herself for the other, only for her to hate her would be unsatisfying. It's more emotionally impactful to have a lovers relationship in this situation then a familial one.

GreenLore (EUW)
: The thing is that Zoe is an insane villain in this version. She is still her bubbly and cheery self, but with all of her power she is still incredibly dangerous, just like in the regular lore, where she nuked a village by accident.
The awkward thing here is that it wasn't an accident... She didn't do it to hurt anyone in particular, but to expose a world rune and simultaneously make Runeterrans aware of Aspects existence.
: Official title for Zoe is aspect of change, but you know very well that she also represents chaos. If not, then you definitely didn't understand Zoe's thematic at all. __________________ And this is again a sad example that Riot simply can't win in situations like these. They release Project chromas and get shouted at "OMG Projects always have been with just 1 colour, doesn't make sense, Riot is just in it for the money!" even if the colour of Projects means absolutely **nothing** in the lore and therefore they can exchange it as they feel like. Riot demonstrates here that they **stand to their product** and are **unwilling to betray it for a cheap money grab**. And again they get shouted at "It's a source of money, are you really passing up on money?!" I wholeheartedly support their decision and feel bad for them that they have to deal with all this stuff.
Yeah literally this post here. Riot has stated from the beginning of Zoe's conception she was based and inspired heavily from Trickster gods like Loki. Who whilst portrayed as Playful, as always very chaotic and rulebreaking in their antics.

: The worst thing is that we are all smart and grown up enough to notice this ~~sca~~ gambling thing. So they aim for the youngest, or even worse for the "not so smart" or the addicted, people. They just could have made a good product for a fair price, but I guess that's too much for them :/
God do I feel this. I have a close friend who has a serious gambling tendency and addiction sensitivity. Her father spent thousands of dollars on gambling irl, and She's spent hundreds on hex tech since it's release. It seems like it runs in their family. Ever since the release of Little Legends and TFT (A gamemode she seriously enjoys), she's only buckled down more. It's really upsetting.

: Comic Dusk Xayah tier and price: Epic, 1350 RP Star Guardian Xayah tier and price: Legendary, 1820 RP Legendary skins can have different effects.
The tier of the skin doesn't effect things like the readability of the effects. The skins team reasoning behind changing the moons was readability. Ahri's Charm is the same colour and shape regardless of skin tier. It's the same concept here except they've changed their mind for the new skin.

: Champs over 1000 days w/o a new skin
It really sucks too because whilst the team skins are really cool, the vast amount of branding all over them for natural reasons kind of takes away from them. The only real exception so far has been the SSG skins imo, as the insignia/logo looks just as much like a Rune so it kind of works all things considered.

: Quick Gameplay Thoughts: August 23
Hey I know this message is super late but it'd be really nice to see a response on this topic that's been ignored for so long. Over time a lot of mages have moved from sustained damage to more burst patterns. The most egregious examples being {{champion:163}} and the {{champion:136}} rework. All we've gotten in response so far is a "hehe no XD" from the rioter on Aurelions rework and it'd be nice to get a concrete answer on why the balance team continues to ignore player feedback and move mages solely into being burst champions. It can be incredibly frustrating seeing these champs changed so fundamentally with no explanation beyond "they'll be better" when so many people feel differently.
: Vladimir is soup?
If he turned into soup and you ate some would it be gone when it became human again?
: I do think a nod would be cool, but I would prefer it had it's own champion so as to allow full freedom and creativity to flourish, instead of, to some degree, re-purposing Shyvana, as what she had already as a foreigner(albeit vague... really vague), the only way to make it more of a nod would be to make it more obvious. Basically a champion as a love letter about what is beautiful about said culture. I understand different opinions however and appreciate the acknowledgement of different opinions, but, I'm confused as to why you find the term Indian negative. I understand that it was a name given through confusion, but it is by no means an insult, unless if you think little of the actual Indians(which I'm going to clarify, I don't think you meant it that way). (Kind of wish for an Asian-Indian champion now....)
You clearly don't understand the offense behind referring to Native Americans as American Indians and why you shouldn't do it. It's pretty ignorant of you to assume I find the term 'negative' simply because I "think little of _actual_ indians". That's a really disrespectful assumption.
: I do mildly disagree about Shyvana, I dislike the idea of her being turned into that, she is a dragon lady, not a commentary on political relations- or views either political party has on the past- which is what changing her ethnicity _would_ do regardless of intentions. Further more Indians had naga, not dragons if you want a character of Indian ethnicity don't change it on a largely Asian and European thing, it would make more sense for her to be European or Asian(but mostly European due to which anatomy her draconian form has) because of which cultures have them most famously. Get a rain snake man/lady instead (or an Underwater Panther based person/monster/animal instead), AND LET THEM WEAR BOOTS, SERIOUSLY, RIOT YOU'RE KILLING ME HERE. (I actually think a rain snake/ under water panther person would be cool, and it would fit better).
I don't think it would require much changing of her race because she's rather ambiguous race wise as is. But that's only my choice and you're free to yours. I don't want a 1:1 representation of something from my race. I don't need or want that really. Just a little nod would be cool. I'm not quite sure if you're Native American yourself or not but even if you are it's rather annoying hearing you refer to people of my race as just 'Indian', when that has a lot of other implications behind it. Which in the end is just way too much drama.

Kind of an unpopular opinion (Is it? Maybe I dunno?) but wasn't it shown that Varus still has full control over the host body, so it would make sense for him to omit the two of them.
: To be honest, I thought it said Sand Guard Sona, like to be part of the Guardian of the Sands skin line. Now that I see it's supposed to be Spirit Guard and fucking stealing Udyr's ultimate skin theme, something they STRICTLY said they wouldn't do (Looking at you Cait), it just doesn't make any sense. It's like the artist didn't even look at traditional Native American dresses and outfits and instead just made a big orange dress thinking that that's all Native Americans are. She HONESTLY looks like she's from the desert, especially with that skin tone, hair style, and the gold trimmings. A big thing also is the original spirit guard is actually is not remotely close to Native American culture at all. The closet thing is his entire champion idea but even then it's just that Native Americans are the most popular example, and not the only, as well as the thousands of different cultures we are lumping together to call "Native American" One of the biggest key features of Udyr's design is his string of large beads, something you can commonly see from artistic representation of Nepal and it's monks and not NA. The whole "Bear, dear, hawk" makes it clear that it's native american inspired but rather poorly. The reason why Udyr had the forms he has were entirely different than why Sona has her. Don't try and tell me that Udyr is Native American based when he has Tiger for a stance. The cultural inspiration for Udyr got misconstrude and resulted in something else getting botched because no research was done. I mean fuck man, if you atleast watch Brother Bear, you would remember The Bear of Love totem and would have done Bear as healing and shield since it means (according to https://www.legendsofamerica.com/na-totems/2/ just doing some basic research) Industrious, instinctive, healing, power, sovereignty, guardian of the world, watcher, courage, will power, self-preservation, introspection, and great strength Could've done Elk for her Q Strength, agility, pride, independence, purification, are something that kinda fits while keeping a reconginzable animal and then her E could have been Fox, something known for being quick, nimble, and agile as well as cunning which could fit into it being a positional tool for her ult on top of being another really important animal in Native American folk tales. I love learning about other cultures and this really isn't one I know a lot about and honestly would love if companies really did some research on and implemented because I'm sure other people would too. It's so disappointing when someone botches the whole thing to where I know just about nothing and even I know you got it wrong. I don't know when this turned into acting like you were the op, I'm just kinda passionate about this >w>
Personally I don't see Udyr as Native American inspired either, no. He's very based around Chinese Monks and Kung Fu stances, which is why I have little issues with the skin (Except that it should probs should of just been his VU) Even 2 of his 4 stances are based from real Kung Fu stances. The Sona Skin made by this artist however is very clearly drawing from Native American culture and bastardizing it for the sake of an aesthetic, which doesn't make me all the comfortable. As for learning about other cultures please go straight ahead! I'm always happy to hear people want to learn more about Native American culture! I think the only thing I will mention to you is that it's important to be mindful, especially with symbols that something that may means something to one tribe, may mean something entirely different to another, so that is something to be wary of.
: I can see Evelynn as a Program, but I wouldn't really call her personality "cold calculating".
Personally I would. She's naturally very cold towards her victims. She shows no empathy or sympathy for what she does to them or what happens to them what she's done. Only caring about how much pain she can get out of them. Whilst her in-game dialogue mightn't make her come off as very calculating in-game, her Short Story does. Presenting her as being very meticulous about her victims, which ones will give her the biggest and most satisfying meal to tide her over to the next one. What time and way will provide her with the most pain/suffering etc.

To each their own! :) I’ll continue to celebrate bringing together different cultures in people’s work, including my own. From what I’ve seen, it simply unites people, which I think we the Native American tribes should be doing more of, but that’s pretty political, so I won’t get into that here.
I'm all for bringing together cultures and having other cultures represented in game. But personally I would much rather these be portrayed as accurately, specifically and positively as possible given the setting. I'm personally an advocate for making Shyvana a native american-inspired woman come her rework. As I think her story about being a Half-Dragon in Demacia (A place now run by humans in a land once roamed by dragons), could be a very nice comparative for Native American culture in modern America. Muddying cultures together no matter how similar they may be just leads to erasure, which is something us Native American's suffer with enough already. As for Native American tribes and Unionizing yeah let's leave that topic where it belongs >.>

Just curious why it makes you uncomfortable. I’m Native American, as well, and it doesn’t make me feel this way, simply due to the fact that _I know_ it’s a skin _inspired_ by our culture (among others! Like I see a lot of references to Maori and Samoan (among other Polynesian) culture!) and mixed with the creator’s own ideas.
It's personal preference naturally. I've never been comfortable with mixing up cultures for the sake of a skin or product, especially with how often it's done. I work for and in a Native American wholesale so I often see a lot of what kind of impact it has. On top of that the design of the skin doesn't make me too comfortable considering the demographic it's mostly appealing to.
: This is awesome. I especially like the Program Elise and Zombie Tahm Kench. ________________ Program as a skin line is highly underappreciated in my opinion. The smile was only introduced during the first edit that came with Akali rework, as in the original version Akali looks rather alerted for some reason. The evolution of Sashimi Akali, I guess. I do think the 3rd one is okay. Since Butcher Olaf has always looked like he just brought the freshly chopped T-bone onto the table and Akali quickly gives it a quick glance, where the original made the glance a bit too intense for some reason, the first edit made it seem like Akali was too absorbed in her stuff, while the final edit does a good job of illustrating the initial intended action of the scene. Though for some reason in the newest version the lighting on Akali seems off, it's weirdly dark and she's in fact standing in a shadow even when the light is just above her. Hopefully they'd fix that before going live.
The second and third Akali you've linked are the exact same. It's just the quality of the image, nothing to do with image's composition or lighting changing.
: (The unnamed Aspect of the Sun in his bio.)
Is someone being mentioned the same as someone being connected? Usually I'd say no, but since you're the narrative writer I'll take that as what you're implying :P It's interesting to see more of a distinct disparity between two Aspects for once, especially considering how Leona and Diana currently are.
: I think it's a case of different things working for different people, and yet everyone keeps trying to force their opinion as the best. Hell, I can't even remember which of the cursors I currently use, because it's that much of an afterthought for myself personally. If I had to gamble a reason as to why Riot was removing it, I imagine it's because they're able to know just how many people actively use the old Cursor in game, similar to how they know how few people actively use the toggles on things like Rengar's cowl on his skin, or Kai'sas helmet. That's just a guess on my end, but who knows, who knows.
The reasoning is pretty clear for it's removal. Keeping old code around as a developer is annoying and frustrating. Example; Qiyana's W changes from Orange > Green > Blue depending on what element you are hovering over, and having to code that for both legacy and modern cursor is probably annoying or strenuous. it's just that from a player base perspective all you are going to do is annoy and upset people who like and use the feature. I don't hate Riot but it does often feel like for such a successful company they simply suck at maintaining anything. The removal of the Legacy cursor was a pretty blatant example of that and why I think so many people got upset beyond their used feature being removed.
Pika Fox (NA)
: Quite honestly, while i prefer the look of the old cursor more, it was utter garbage. I cant tell you how many times i just lost the cursor on the fight compared to the new one. Tried the new one, never went back. Dont lose it on the chaos nearly as much.
I don't think it's so much people think the Old Cursor is balantly superior, I mean it IS a fact that it gets lost in fights more often. It's a muted brown colour after all. It's just that it's what people have gotten used to and like and there not much of a real positive to removing it.

It's quite funny you bring up {{champion:84}} {{champion:10}} {{champion:3}} as reworks that have recieved a lot of criticism as I feel they all share a similar problem; moving too far from the original champion. Whilst their old kits had problems they also had a lot of positive aspects (Kayle in particular felt very satisfying in the past)
